Lets start with the promise that i won't do spoilers. So no word about the story itself.

Lets start with the promise that i won't do spoilers. So no word about the story itself.

Lets start with the graphics: Just take a look from a high point, and look around. No texture blurring, everything is sharp and detailed, and a smooth frame rate. I only noticed one or two occasions where the frame rate dipped when i used the big "destroy everything around you from the sky dive" move, where the explosion on the ground, and everything that crumbled down, caused the frame rate to dip a bit. Faces look awesome, and lip sync is also very good.

Sound design is perfect, even with the new Sony headset, i was able to locate some powerful enemies by listening where their sounds came from. The voice acting is very good, and believable. I liked the fact that i can choose to listen to the English version, and in my own language. The subtitles can also be watched in both languages, but the default setting is in what language you have set your Playstation 4 in. So i had to turn of the Dutch language in order to get the English spoken version.

Game play: After getting to grips with the control, and because the game teaches you each new trick/power piece by piece, you soon start to move/free run very smoothly trough the whole city. Everything feels right, and after roughly 30 minutes, i did not even missed the auto aiming function that usually finds its way to most shooting games. Just a few moments, when the action gets hectic, and you did hot had the chance to charge up your powers (you need to accumulate some stuff to charge the "power" bar to be able to use your powers), then things can get a bit chaotic. I won't tell what "stuff" you need, as i think it's more fun if you find out what kind of powers and what you need to charge them by yourself. I will end with the fact that the only downside in gameplay for me was that it's sometimes not clear what kind of power you need to kill a certain enemy.

Overall: I really like this game. It feels fresh, and by choosing if you want to be good or bad, you get that feeling of you are being a super human, like Superman or Batman. People can cheer for you, or run away, depending what choices you make during the game. That Superhuman feel, feels really good, and the complete package is good. Not perfect, due to some frame rate dips, and when things get hairy, sometimes you can't flee because the character get stuck between two pieces of street furniture (Like benches and a garbage bin for instance), and that can lead to a unneeded death. But other than that, this one will be ended more than once, if only to finish it as a Hero, or a bad guy, to see how the people respond.

I hope the review helps. It's difficult to be constructive while keeping in mind that i don't want to spoil a thing for the people who still want to play this game.

I beg to differ, it's not night and day different, but it's enough for me. It feels just like what I'm used to and what I was expecting, but enough added in to give it a fresher feel.

I also thought why are people complaining about a game that stays true to what it is. Heck we're used to all these things that are always the same. People always drink the same brand of the same pop, they make a new one and you might try and like it enough, but you'll go back to what you like and know. Also applies to games, Mario games, a lot of them are generally similar, Pokemon, every one I've tried to play are actually exactly the same except for added monsters and maybe it being in colour now.

So at the end of the day, this game is a must play on the PS4. The story isn't as great as the original, but it's still good. Graphic and effects are fantastic and it plays really well. I'll come back to it again soon, have to play the evil side and on harder, and probably again some other time in the future when I want to go crazy with super powers though a city.

This is the kind of game where a low score just baffles me. It's so extremely well made, it looks fantastic, it runs super smooth all the time, the controls are flawless and so easy to utilize and learn. The city is just a giant playground to do as you please...and obliterate the DUP while you're at it. The side missions are kinda 'meh', though.

The only reason I gave it a nine was lack of a "New Game+" mode like other Infamous Titles had before this. Why this was ommited from the game remains to be seen, and it affects replay value quite a bit.

This is by far the best display of PS4 graphics so far. Everything that has came before this seems like a Ps3 game in comparison.
Its also has one of the best story lines of any game in the last 10 years.
Very very fun!!! The villains were a bit dull and repetitive otherwise Id give it a 10.

A beautiful game with fun combat! The game though does have post content issues as after a few times, it is somewhat boring, but really seems like the only problem. Mostly strong gameplay, fantastic graphics, good voice actors and even sound all creates an enjoyable single player experience.

Once you start to play you find a fluid game with great objectives, storyline and gameplay. Don't get me wrong there is nothing new here but what there is, is an excellent game with loads of atmosphere.

The story is well written, the acting is top notch and the challenge, even on normal, is perfectly balanced. As far as characters go, Delsin is not very likeable but he is funny in places.

To sum up, if you like games and you have a PS4 there is every reason to pick this up, play through one path and then come back for more. I'm hoping there will be lots of DLC in the future. Nice job Sucker Punch.

The Infamous series has been an equal mix of the ambitious and the pedestrian, and SS is no real exception to that. Let me splain. First off, we've got to the 3rd game in the series and the protagonist may actually have an excuse to have the parkour/free-running skills that the bike messenger of the first game was supposed to have, but not really. Just like, for example, Assassin's Creed II is to have you believe Ezio didn't need any real training to do most of what he does in AC II, then the Infamous games just get you right into the action. Second Son is light on the tutorial part as well, which is welcome, but it still has to do the whole "see, he can get around the countryside like a Tomb Raider, see?" and there is a VERY brief moment of panic from Delsin Rowe when he first gets powered up, then he quickly sees the advantage of what he's got now and cool, we can move on. What is also contrived is when and how Delsin acquires new powers and upgrades as well as blast shards, which just so happen to be the same things from the first two games, but they appear here from a totally different method. These are arbitrary game design decisions to get you powers when they want you to, but to also let you get a few powers in quick succession so you can have a good time playing the game. What I'm getting to is the game never lets you forget i'ts a game, but at the same time wants you to care about the story, the characters and immerse you in the environment. But some issues with gameplay do hinder this ambitious objective.

First off, the free running/parkour stuff is a bit loose and not as fun and smooth as the first two games for some reason. I don't remember having this much trouble getting around Empire City or New Marais. In fact, the (spoiler) neon power of just running up buildings and the smoke power of using vents almost seems like a fix for this issue as much as fun elements. Also, fighting enemies, of which the variety is low, seems awkward and hurly burly. Some enemies can launch themselves out of nowhere to slam into you and the environments are often so BUSY with civilians, cars and other detail in the background it's often hard to pick out enemies in the scrums, especially if you're paying as Good and want to not kill the peeps. Some attacks that stun enemies can help with crowd control, but again, these attacks as well as the BIG attacks you earn for karma streaks seem like solutions to problems as much as an enjoyment.

Ironically once of the biggest issues is the level of graphical detail and lighting. Quite a bit of the game takes place mid-afternoon...although since it's also an open world game, meaning you can spend dozens of hours with time basically frozen (another contrived element in Infamous rather than day/night cycles...it's an open world game, but in which certain story sections take place a certain times of day/night, which has never worked for me in this series) ...but with heavy shadows, that creates a dim, muddy palette in which some enemies are just shadows. Also, how much realism should we have in these next-gen games? I'm sure the Devs appreciate the "meh, too short, I'll wait until it's $30" stuff I've seen out there. But I'm wondering if the level of detail, which in this game is pretty shocking, I mean this game is a labor of love people, and the bar is set very high now...but I'm wondering if things like lighting and level of detail in the sense of saturation of objects isn't getting in the way of making a great video game.

All that relative nit-picking out of the way, the game is great fun, the power options, letting you choose different powers pretty much on the fly most of the time that do have some uniqueness to them, the level of immersion that is here, the interesting characters, the tagging, the voice acting, just the sheer effort that went into this game, etc. This is a great game, maybe not the "have to have PS4 now" game it wanted to be, but a success with just a few issues to keep it from being a 10 for me.

InFamous: Second Son is the third title in the InFamous series developed by Sucker Punch. A PS4-exclusive, Second Son is not the fully-realized evolution many were hoping, but it's still a blast of a sequel.

Story: Set seven years after the good ending of InFamous, in SS Conduits are now called Bio-terrorists and being hunted down by a unit called DUP. Delsin Rowe is a young man who discovers he is a Conduit with the rare ability to absorb the powers of other powers. Now, alongside his brother Reggie, Delsin heads over to Seattle in order to confront DUP. Without spoiling too much, SS's story, for the most part, delivers the heights of the previous games. Unfortunately, the script can be sometimes too cliched or jarring, and I'm mostly talking about some of Delsin and Reggie's conversations. Delsin himself is a good character, although he sometimes suffers from slow development. As for the game's ending(s) - well-done! Story: 8.5/10

Graphics: Using an in-house engine, SS is BEAUTIFUL, both in design and animations. Sadly it doesn't use the PS4's full potential and the face animations could have been done better. Score: 9.5/10

Sound: The soundtrack was composed Nathan Johnson, and most of its pieces use guitar, which bloody fits the mood and style of SS's setting. Voice acting is also great with Troy Baker doing a fantastic job as Delsin. 9.5/10

Gameplay: Let's cut short the good things before moving to the bad/mixed things: InFamous SS is fun and easy to play just like the previous games, and each of the powers Delsin obtains throughout the story is so bloody enjoyable to dick around with. Now with that said, let's move to SS's three biggest issues: 1) The powers - while each power is fun on its own, it's a missed opportunity to not be able to mix two or more abilites to create a new type of attack, but sadly InFamous SS doesn't realize the full potential of Delsin's character from a gameplay perspective (although, still, as I said: each power on its own is still awesome); 2) The moral system - after all this talk about morals, SS's moral system doesn't realy add to the whole game... basic good/evil choices that never grow into something meaningful. 3) The city - while Seattle is a really beautiful place to look at, it feel somewhat lifeless compare to GTA V's Los Santos. There are also some AI problems, but the good gameplay elements taken over from the first two games lead me to give the Gameplay section a solid 8.0/10.

Lasting appeal: There's a lot to do in SS, including the good path story, bad path story, side missions and just dicking around in Seattle with the cool and stylish Neon powers. Cole's Legacy DLC also add some time to play. 9.5/10.

The Verdict: InFamous: Second Son is not the revolution the InFamous franchise was hoping to, and it's status as a sandbox game is somewhat below the standards set by GTA V several months ago. It is, however, an amazing game in its own right and a must for every PS4 owner.
    Final score: 9.0/10
Alternate Recommendations: Prototype 2, Saints Row IV, GTA V and Batman Arkahm Knight (once it'll be released).

That being said, the "Main missions where you tracked down other conduit's were cool, and also the Origami side missions are great (although having to sign up for the paper trail website to access them was annoying).... As other reviews have said, if you liked the others, you will most likely like this one. The powers offer a nice change up to the game play and makes the experience fresh and precise. Deslin is far more likable than I thought he would be and the story is quite good too.

I have to say that the only down side is that the city, being based off of a real city, just is not as good as Empire City. Which, in all honesty isn't too bad seeing as in my opinion, neither was New Marais and again, in my opinion Sucker Punches Seattle is gorgeous and better than New Marais was.

So to recap: If you were a fan, you will like it! So that's great news for people like me. The graphics are great, performance is good.

I'm giving this a 9 because I feel that it deserves in between a 8/9 as a fan. It's better than Infamous 2 but still no infamous 1 (Although the game play is the best the series has offered.) I will not stoop to giving it a 10 just to fight off the trolls scoring the game low.

Even thou I'm used to maxed pc gaming, Infamous: Second Son made my jaw hit the ground just like the first time I witnessed Super Mario 64 for the first time.
The game itself adds little to the Infamous formula, but the incredible level of visual detail brings the immersion feel to a completely new level.

Slightly underrated, this is the first great game of the PS4. Technically, it's the best thing that exists right now. It is superior to both Shadow Fall and Ryse. Because of the open world and of the unbelievable art SP has created.

As an inFamous game, it lacks some of the missions variety (or side missions) from the previous games and also is quite shorter. On the other side, this time you have 4 sets of powers. Some say, that the other 3, beside the smoke, which is the first, are useless, but I have been using all of them almost equally (except from the last which comes almost at the end). Each action you want to take makes better use for one of them.

Also the pace is great this time with each power being presented perfectly fitting the laid-back attitude of the whole game. The music is stylish and sets the mood as does the weather and the atmosphere colors.

This is a great game, the best of the PS4 right now, the best of the inFamous series, the best visually right now. I had my complaints for its gameplay, but I had much fun and most importantly I felt the next gen leap. The controller gimmicks, the stunning graphics (with all the new tech), the more coherent inFamous world... all of those made me feel that next-gen feeling.

You play as Delsin Rowe, a guy who likes to do spray billboards and get in trouble with your brother Reggie. One day, you get smoke powers, and it becomes your responsibility to save your tribe from dying at the hands of Augustine's concrete daggers. The story is essentially you getting new powers to help you fight Augustine, and I enjoyed it. The story is well told through cut-scenes and dialogue through your phone. I thought the voice acting was great, especially from Troy Baker who voices Delsin. The writing was also really good with good dialogue going on between Delsin and his brother as well as with the other characters you meet along the way. I also thought the villain was a real b**ch (which is a good thing). The only problem I have with the story is that it was short. On normal difficulty, you can beat the story good or evil in about 12 hours, which is disappointing compared to the previous inFamous games. But overall, I still really enjoyed the story. 9/10

    Gameplay:
inFamous: Second Son is an action adventure game where you'll be getting and using new super as you play. There are 4 in total and all of them are fun to use. I won't spoil the 2 powers you get later, but I can say that Neon is one of my favorite powers to use as a hero. What's also great about all the powers is the way you travel around the decent sized Seattle. With smoke, you can dash forward or through air vents to get to rooftops faster, with neon you could run at fast speeds through the streets or up walls, with the 3rd power, you could glide far distances and use satellite dishes to boost your distance, and for the last power, you turn into a "running tank" basically. Each power has their own unique sets of upgrades, and switching between them is as easy as pressing on the touchpad when you're near a power source. In the fictional Seattle, you'll also be liberating all the districts from the D.U.P. (evil corporation). So you'll be eliminating D.U.P. headquarters, destroying spy drones, hidden cameras, secret agents, spray painting walls (with some clever art using the Dualshock 4's motion controls), and eventually, you'll perform a district showdown on one of their propaganda billboards. Going for 100% completion isn't hard, and getting all trophies isn't hard either. There's also a karma system where you can choose to be a hero or a villain. Both sides offer exclusive upgrades to your powers, exclusive missions, different dialogues, and different endings so there's some good reasons to replay the story and do the opposite side. Doing ALL of this should take about 20-24 hours to complete. However, the A.I. in this game isn't the smartest. I counted 8 different enemy types in the game, and the game mixes them up to try to make each fight feel different and challenging. If you're playing on expert difficulty, or if you suck at the game, you might feel overwhelmed and have to retreat to recharge health and return to the fight. Overall, the gameplay is better than the previous 2 inFamous games in my opinion. 9/10

    Graphics:
This is not only the best looking PS4 game out right now, but is also one of the best looking games on consoles now. The graphics look absolutely stunning due to great lighting, character models, particle effects, and map design. Another thing is that during my playthroughs, my game stayed running at 60fps with rarely any frame rate drops. THIS HOW A NEXT GEN GAME SHOULD LOOK (Titanfall). 10/10

    Sound:
The gun shots from your enemies sound great, but nothing special. The sound your powers make when using them, or recharging them is great. The games soundtrack is great, but nothing stands out other than the music that plays when you're spraying walls and that awesome Nirvana cover theme. 8/10

    Multiplayer:
There is none, and I'm disappointed that the user-generated missions that were in inFamous 2 were removed. No score.

    Overall:
This is the PS4's 1st must have game. Great story, gameplay, gorgeous graphics, and great sound designs are my reasons for picking up this game. But, because of its short amount of content, I don't think this game is worth picking up a PS4 just to play it. But, if you already have a PS4, then get this game. Verdict: 9/10

It's fun to explore the world and traverse it with the superpowers also. The lighting, textures, animations, mo cap, voice acting and detail in inFamous second Son on PS4 is next to none.

It's a story based game and you are a guy called Delsin who gets superpowers but this is not as much of a blessing as you'd think. This is because of the world inFamous is set in and because of what has happened in the previous games. You are seen as a bio terrorist and the D.U.P lock up anyone who has these powers. You can either choose to play as a hero or a villain and there are different quests, powers and endings depending on your playstyle. Reggie is your brother and he is a really good character in the game as is Delsin ( voiced by Troy Baker ) but the rest of the cast is more forgettable. The Story of the game is not that great in my opinion but it's good. The characters beyond Delsin and Reggie are not very fleshed out either.

There is an experience system of sorts that lets you put points into your powers as you progress throughout the game. There are side missions and activities like spray painting, rescue missions, healing people, destroying cameras and eliminating the D.U.P from the city. However many of them seem mundane. If you want a really great looking game that's really fun to play and it will last you around 10 to 12 hours to complete the main campaign then inFamous second son is a game you should really pick up on your PS4.

If you recently picked up a ps4, you can probably pick this game up at a discount, which makes it more appealing, all in all it's a strong launch title that's held up well for the console's first year, do yourself a favor and pick it up. Whoa! Completely blown away. From the voice acting to the visuals and the many missions, all fun.

My only knock on this is that there should be some sort of auto save function after every mission and a easier way to upgrade your abilities. Other than that, nearly flawless.

Most impressive though is how much fun Second Son is to play. With the variety of powers available, and the very good AI, this game is simply a blast and it's hard to ever put the controller down. In fact, Second Son only falls short in the lack of variety of enemies, and the somewhat strange story arc.

The story isn't bad, in fact, it's almost very good. Unfortunately, very likable and seemingly major character will be introduced and then almost completely discarded until the very end of the game without any explanation. This is a real shame since the interactions between Delsyn and his supporting cast are truly enjoyable and often humorous experiences, and it feels strange to suddenly not see certain characters for extended periods of time.

Overall, Second Son is a great game. It may be short, (only about 12 hours), but it offers a lot of replay value with alternate good and bad story lines. The karma system feels out of place and antiquated however, with there only being a few story centered good vs evil choices to make. The rest of the time, karma is simply awarded based on whether you kill your enemies or just subdue them.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. inFAMOUS Second Son is one of PS4's best exclusives so far (The Last of Us doesn't count, it's a remaster)! Throughout the game I was having great fun and I earned a well-deserved Platinum Trophy on it. The story is about Delsin Rowe, an average stencil artist in Salmon Bay, an area outside Seattle. When Delsin and his brother Reggie witness a truck full of conduits (people infected with special powers) crash, they go to search for survivors and find Hank, a conduit with smoke powers, who unexpectedly gives his powers to Delsin. Then he chases after Hank and tries to find a way to get rid of his powers, which he is scared of at the moment. At the end of their chase, Delsin meets Brooke Augustine, head of the Department of Unified Protection (DUP). Augustine shoots concrete into Delsin's legs, knocking him out. Then Delsin goes to Seattle to deal with Augustine - a usual revenge story. Over the course of the game, you move around with smoke powers, then neon, then video and finally concrete. When you unlock one power, you can drain from the source of one of the other powers to use it again. You can also do something that doesn't require your powers as a side activity - Stencil Art. You can also kill DUP secret agents, destroy DUP hidden cameras, collect Informant audio logs, destroy DUP mobile command units and drain shards (your upgrade currency) from tracker drones. Do all of the side activities in one district and you'll unlock the District Showdown mission, where you vandalise a DUP billboard and obliterate all of the DUP reinforcements. Once you've done that, the district will be mostly free from DUP attacks. Throughout the game you are also brought into a morality system where you have to choose to be good or evil by doing particular actions and choosing paths in the story. Some of the evil actions don't really fit Delsin's personality, however. This is something that may need improving. The game looks amazing and shows off the power of the PS4 with incredibly detailed motion capture and facial expressions. Overall, this is a great game only brought down to a 9/10 by evil actions that don't fit Delsin's personality and not much reason to keep playing once you've completed everything to 100%. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Suckerpunch has created a damn good game. There are some serious moments, one that almost mad me cry, and that part where you can either kill ore spare Hank, really brought me into tears. And the vocal performances don't hurt either. The truly shows of what the PS4 can do and it has a superb combat system, one that emphasizes movement over cover. I might have a few gripes though: the story was over really quickly and the game didn't do enough with the touchpad but still thumps up for SuckerPunch. Expand

They also made great use of the touchpad, which thus far hasn't really been utilized with other games. You use the touchpad to drain energy, spray paint, gather shards, and other tasks that you will regularly be doing. The game is responsive, and it's a very enjoyable experience to blow up everything the D.U.P. has to offer. But this gets old after a while. You start to just do the same things over and over again. This is InFamous Second Son's largest problem, repetitiveness. Very similar missions and tasks are repeated many times. While I never got completely bored of the game, it became more of a chore towards the end. When playing a game, you should not want the game to end, you should want to keep on coming back for more. Story wise, this game is kind of a letdown. There was a lot of potential, but it wasn't fulfilled. At the very beginning, the game does a great job of setting up Delsin and his companions. The middle of the game has a loose story, but most of the time all you know is that you need to blow something up, or catch someone. If the middle of the game had more cut scenes, this could have been avoided, but almost all of the cutscenes are at the beginning, with a few towards the end as well. I know I have said it already, but the environments are absolutely beautiful. Seattle seems alive, but at the same time, very dull. There are many characters roaming the streets, but none of them are very smart, using the same animations and dialogue over and over again. This takes away from the realism of Seattle. There aren't very many memorable locations either. This creates an unmemorable experience for a lot of the game. The powers that Delsin uses look absolutely amazing and are a blast to use. Learning new abilities are what keep me coming back to the game, which makes the game difficult to play more than once. So far I've only played the evil side of Delsin. While there are minor changes on the good side story wise, there are very few power wise. Generally, everything is the same. This makes the game a one time play through, until you have forgotten some of the story and feel like playing again. The main story probably takes about 10 hours to complete, not including side missions. For some, that may not be worth $60. If you are a big fan of open world superhero games, want something to show off your new PS4 with, or just need a game to play on PS4, you will probably enjoy this game. I fit into a couple of those categories, which is why I gave InFamous Second Son a 9/10. Expand

It took a while though, we all see the adds Sony is pushing us so it's hard to ignore the game. When I read the reviews I wasn't all that psyched, seeing the in-game footage was amazing but I didn't had a connection with the franchise. Played an Infamous game on the PS3 once, free with PS Plus, but after an hour I ditched it. This morning after skipping class I was watching twitch tv, by accident because I don't do that much. When I saw people playing the game, I was feeling a little excited. After watching a guy clear one district (a thing you need to do in the game) I was hooked and instantly bought it on the PS store. And really, don't have any regrets because it is really an amazing game. The story isn't that brilliant like a Last of Us and it isn't a sandbox game like GTA, but the things you can do are bloody amazing. Jumping on roofs, hovering between them and whooshing into thin sand to reach the next rooftop, it never gets old. I've read that it's a lot of repetition but what game isn't? The touchpad controls are worked in nicely, like the speaker in the controller. The game itself is pretty challenging and it does take some time to find a way to get things done. The character is pretty funny, some things make me laugh out loud which is a good thing because only The Stick of Truth made me laugh in a game since a long while (GTA..). So yeah, 12-13 hours to end the game sounds right, but you can play a good hero and a bad one, so it's worth the replay I think. The last thing I haven't touched are the graphics, which are incredible as aspected on a next gen console. Brilliant details, climbing the Space Needle and seeing entire Seattle is just stunning, JJ Abrams lens glares the hole package.

So should you get the game? I hadn't had a thing with the franchise, after the reviews I wasn't that thrilled but seeing people play it on Twitch made me buy it. It's brilliant and really fun to play. Maybe I'll be playing the previous two on the PS3 because the story sounds cool, can't wait to finish this one though!

Anyway onto the game. The graphics are amazing, the frame rate is rock steady no matter what you're doing, gliding from the space needle, destroying towers, leaping into the air and smashing into the ground blowing up cars and throwing bodies around, it's all beautifully done and flows like water.

I was disappointed by the lack of karma quests and the lack of moves per power tree, but overall the game was great.

When the announced a new protaganist for the series, I was stand offish, especially when Delfin was shown to be a typical new trend hipster teenage dofus in the trailers, but he is actually quite a well drawn, likeable character with some interesting family background and traits. The secondary characters are also quite well drawn and likeable, I do miss the Zeke man and Cole, but this new direction is good.

I think that the mission repetition the nay sayers are harping on about is abit exageratted. Certainly the missions are repeatitive to an extent, (what sandbox game isn't), but they do evolve and get harder and I presonally find the side quests a nice little distraction when I wanna take a break from the story line. More importantly the side quests are completely skippable, you don't need them to progress in terms of powers or storyline and so I feel they flesh the game out more and don't really bring the game down in any way shape or form. I actually really like the spray can missions which surprised me. I looked forward to them as the art style was great and they were quite humerous (I played with good karma my first play through, but will replay for infamous karma and I will be interested to see how they play out).

The storyline was great and definitely pulled on my heart strings and got me immeresed in the new world and the lore. I would have liked to see more nods to the old series as the residents of the world don't seem to really remember Cole or his sacrafice and just kinda treat all conduits as bio terrorists, which kinda demeans all the healing and saving he did, but meh. I really enjoyed the little comic cutscenes too, glad to see they are still there, the art direction as always is great in this series, the comic booky feel adds well to the super hero lineage.

The music is quite good, plays well to the feel of the scene and the character.

The cities are wel thought out and play nicely, maybe adding some touristy stuff to the future game installments, like a sightseeing tour or something by air would add a new kind of side mission, I don't know.

Combat is fun and great, though I would like to see some more combo type systems installed in terms of stuns being used a bit more chain like, air juggling and what not, more finese and less brute force, but a great start.

I love how alot of the negative marks are pointing at no innovation, more of the same, etc. You have to remember this is a sand box sequel, with true next gen graphics and physics, near at launch, give it a break. You can't compare it to GTA 5 which was at the end of the console life and you can't compare it to Titanfall, which is FPS and based in an old engine (and this shows btw, lag and sub par graphics and physics, doesn't really blow me away). Creating storyline and crafting a believable world with lore, backstory and immersion takes time, I'm amazed at the job they've done.

Anyway if you've reach the end of this review, thanks for taking the time. I would like to take more time on it but I won't, not a bad first entry. To some it up:

    Pros

    - Great storyline, characters and lore. Interesting new world, look forward to growing it more in future installments.
-Amazing graphics, beautiful colours, great physics, first next gen feel I have had, (This includes Titanfall sorry guys).
    - Good combat and skill tree, would like to see this explored and expanded.
    - Easy to find and understand upgrading orbs and mechanics

    Cons

    - Quick travel system wasn't really that great, should have been useable from any location once unlocked. I also really miss zipping along the train lines, was kinda slow for a long time, vent system was great though.
    - Karma system - while not massively bad needs to be drawn out alot more, would like to see interactions with the city alot more too rather than the regular "WOOHOO GO, MARRY ME" type of reaction

A great game, a great new start.

Colors are vivid, sharp graphics, seamless game play, engaging characters, good voice acting. The option screens are a bit clunky to navigate through and I could use some more zoom-in in my zoom-in, but overall this game does what it is supposed to do, which is highlight the power of the PS4. Infamous: Second Son is the first next-gen game that I truly enjoyed. The graphics is great (lighting, animations, etc), game play rocks and everything that I wanted in a super hero (or villain) game is here. The only downside I find is the story which I find somewhat lacking but overall I enjoyed it very much. Infamous Second Son is a must have for your Playstation 4. Its beautiful graphics and extremely smooth gameplay. (I won't spoil the game and will only talk about Delsin)

The main protagonist Delsin Rowe who is played by the terrific actor in Troy Baker is known to what he calls himself a "power sponge" who can absorb powers from other conduits which adds more choices as to how you can play this game in an awesome, fun and kick ass way and the colours you see from these new powers are spectacular to see and make Cole's electricity seem boring. The story does seem a tad weak but it is interesting enough to keep you intrigued and there are some good emotional moments found at the latter stages of the game.

I found the main protagonist, Delsin to be a funny and awesome character who at times can get on your nerves but overall is a great character because unlike Cole he embraces his powers (although not at first) and loves the things you can do similar to you, the player.

Moving on to the side missions on this game they have new and interesting missions not seen in previous games and though some are very cool and i loved the stencil missions which uses the controller in an awesome and new way, most do tend to get very repetitive but they are not particularly frustrating so i personally didn't mind them.

    Summary:
The brilliant and cool new powers in this game awesome and extremely fun and kept me wanting to play the game into early hours of the morning but the much more intelligent AI make this game still very challenging at times especially in the boss fights which i felt was important for balancing reasons, story is good enough for your to enjoy and invest yourself in, The new side mission are cool but somewhat repetitive, the graphics and location and something new and awesome that your eyes will have never seen before and flying round the city and beating challenging enemies with your powers and with spectacular colour has never been so fun. Overall 9/10
Negatives: (Slightly lacking story, repetitive side missions)

So far I love the game. I am a huge fan of the series so I am biased but I can genuinely say infamous second son is the reason I bought a ps4. The positives:

    the negatives:
diverse side missions that effected karma in the first two games have been really stripped down to like two or three in second son, the enemy variety isn't as good as the first two games in which you had to combat multiple factions. I second son you have: the DUP, drug dealers, cops, and gangsters. The last three are no where near as dynamic to fight as the DUP, however, there are times when you are fighting the DUP plus one more two of the other groups so that makes it more interesting. My last negative has to deal with one of the powers, the last one you get ( before dlc anyway). The last power feels stripped down compaired to the others. There have even been cases of animations errors with this particular powerset. Hopefully sucker punch will improve on it with patches and even dlc.

This game in my opinion nailed Next gen requirements. The visual effects from rain drops, to lighting, and even seeing reflections in the puddles on the ground are nothing short of breath taking greatness. It truly showed off beautiful art styles and design that you will not see in many games. The story did a great job at bringing infamous back to life and I felt more connected to Delsin from his witty sarcastic charm. The bonus content in the Collectors edition which gave you brief insight to how the conduits survived was welcomed, but felt a little short and craving for more development. So let us get right to it.
    The Good:
Great story kept you looking forward to the next mission and power, unraveling what was the next step.
Beautiful graphics. Any of the people who say Titan Fall has better graphics are talking bananas to pineapples. You can't compare the two because they are on different scales.
Amazing powers, each felt unique and tailored to using in different circumstances or using whatever is readily available.
Character Development was spot on and gave you a feeling of caring for what happen's to group like you did in the other 2 games.
I personally enjoyed the fact that side missions blended together with the game allowing you to complete everything without truly realizing it.
    The bad:
The parkour jumping system seemed a little buggy and broken at times really frustrating and eventually it just seemed better to use a power to get to the top of a building.
The side missions were a little repetitive as far as what to collect how to clear areas and what not.
The Cole Legacy missions felt short and a little rushed made it hard to engage in the story when you got cut off at the knees so quickly.
Frustrating that when you absorb a power and are almost done that if you get hit you would lose everything and have to try again.

Verdict Overall a great game and really enjoyable. Will definitely help people get their fill of Infamous while waiting for a possible third game. A must buy for fans of the series and for PS4 owners.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Well, where do I begin? There's not much negative to say about this game. Reviewers are nitpicking over the story for what? The main character of the story, Delsin, is an average skater, BMX, extreme sports, rebellious/happy-go-lucky kind of guy. You wouldn't love him. You wouldn't hate him. The story is good enough to get the player immersed into the game. The detail and graphics are sheer eye candy. The detail and shading in the lighting will definitely catch your eye. Get your hands on this game and use a "karma charged" power and you'll see exactly what I mean. The side missions get more difficult with each one completed and the enemies vary in number so the repetition factor is kept to a minimum. These are the types of games that showcase the Playstation 4's capabilities. My only problem with the game is fast traveling. There should've been more fast travel points built in and that's the only negative thing about the game. This game pushes the ps4, but not even close to it's limit. If you have 60 bucks to waste, waste it on Infamous Second Son. Expand

Stunning graphics, smooth combat and the sheer Fun of just moving around with Your powers make Infamous a very fun game to play. Some repetitive combat and side missions will leave you bored from time to time but that is just a very minor setback in an Amazing game that PS4 Fans have been waiting for to showcase there system!

Incredible graphics, smooth gameplay, and a great story. The only issue I had with the game was that the camera angles could be a bit difficult to deal with at times, but other than that I loved it. Can be a very challenging game, but was good about rewarding the player for doing well. It definitely isn’t one of those games you talk about years after its release, but it showcases PS4’s capabilities well and in contrast to Killzone: Shadow Fall also does something else – guarantees fun from the beginning till the end. [CD-Action 05/2014, p.58]
