The awful voice acting of the Marrakesh episode continues on in this one, except most of the Thai waiting staff seem to speak like British native-speakers now, instead of American ones. Awful voice acting aside, this episode just felt a bit lazy and underwhelming, as the whole game has generally throughout (with the exception of Sapienza). I also noticed the extra characters wandering around were sometimes noticeably cloned, and the dialogues from characters are repeated ad nauseum. Skyrim had similar issues, but then it made up for it with engrossing gameplay and epic storylines. Hitman has neither. When I play a Hitman episode it's more to get my money's worth, as I'm guessing it'd be too much hassle/impossible to get a refund, but I don't really care about the plot, and there's not really any satisfaction in terminating the targets, as they've always had near-zero character development prior to the mission. The player also has no real sense of investment in the disjointed and unnecessarily spaced out plot, led by the tiny cut scenes between missions.

I've already paid for the whole game, so feel I may as well play the episodes as they come out, but when I'm playing it, there's a real feeling of not actually being bothered about it one way or the other.

    Hitman Bangkok
    The weakest hitman episode yet…
In terms of the overall story arch, this is a great episode... but in terms of actual gameplay, this is the weakest weve seen in these episodic hitman releases... In this episode your targets are a young recording artist who may or may not have killed a young actress as well as his family attorney… The map feels alive much better than the

The map feels alive much better than the last episode… but there’s just so little to do and see this time around…
This was probably the easiest hit yet only taking me about 45 minutes to complete…
But within a brief window of about 5 minutes I felt like I’ve scoped the entire place out
It takes place in one hotel that feels way too compact compared to what the series has had us used to.. And this is the place where this kid is celebrating his 27th birthday
so you get to crash his party any way you see fit,
I personally chose to just poising the whole place and bounce…
This is the first time playing a hitman episode that my mind wasn’t racing… where I didn’t feel like I had to plan…
I’m feeling stronger than ever that an episodic release of this series was a mistake as I’m sure had this product been released as a whole, this map wouldn’t bother me as much as it does.
    I give Hitman Bangkok a

This is kind of average episode. From the gameplay perspective it is good. From the graphics point of view it is very high quality. But the level design is weaker that in the previous episodes. I dont mean it is bad (it is still better than any level in Absolution for example). But they already show that they can create much better level.
The biggest problem is that this level is smaller

The biggest problem is that this level is smaller (or at least feels that way). You ahve only one hotel available (ave very small exterour around it. Most of the layout is mirrored (it is a hotel after all). So it is not so enjoyable to explore like the Italy. because there are no interesting surprises to discover.

The series is back on form. Bangkok's the most challenging level so far (note the electronic locks that render 47's lockpick useless), but also the most rewarding. [Nov 2016, p.95]

Episode 4 might ultimately be more of the same, but this year’s episodic Hitman is the best the series has ever been, and I’m not complaining. However, with the United States and Japan chapters still to come before this season ends, I do hope IO Interactive has a few more tricks up its sleeve.

It's a nice level, to be sure, but the formula's starting to grow stale. On top of that, the requirement to always be online is still annoying and the game's performance is far from perfect.
