It's a nice level, to be sure, but the formula's starting to grow stale. On top of that, the requirement to always be online is still annoying and the game's performance is far from perfect.

Hitman: Episode 4 - Bangkok may be weaker than Sapienza, but by no means is it a bad addition. While the setting does feel a missed opportunity, the Himmapan Hotel is ripe with plenty of different kills, and the clandestine nature and harder difficulty makes it all the more interesting.

This new episode offers a huge place to explore and a nice challenge, even if the AI is still disappointing.

While it's a bit of a comedown in some respects, 'Hitman' remains an excellent game in its fourth episode, and I have no qualms with recommending the overall package at this point. Bangkok really shines on replay though, so the first run through ends up feeling like more of a warmup than anything else. The hotel does feel a bit too similar to the first mission in some respects, but IO still crams the episode with enough charm and fun that it ends up feeling worthwhile in spite of its faults.

In short, while the Himmapan level is nice to look at and chock full of things to do, it's held back by a lack of defining features linking it to Bangkok and lopsided mission design.

Where Bangkok mostly falters is the actual setting. It's less focused on Thailand and more on the "Himmapan luxury hotel," which doesn't really go far enough and frankly, isn't as luxurious as it claims.

There is fun to be had in Episode 4, but in the end it wasn’t a memorable gameplay experience.

Hitman – Episode 4: Bangkok has a lot of good going for it, but doesn’t quite live up to the excitement that has been established in the past.

Hitman’s fourth episode retains the foundations that have made IO’s assassination simulator an utter success, but it does come out the other side as the poorest offering so far.

After three wonderful Episodes of Hitman, IO Interactive drops the ball by delivering a chunk of content that's not nearly as thoughtful as what came before. But even if this installment comes off as a little disappointing, you should still get some enjoyment out of it if you enjoyed Agent 47's previous 2016 adventures.

In its fourth episode, Hitman takes a step back from global conspiracies to examine the morally gray profession of contract killing. It’s the déjà vu of another extravagant mansion, however, that made me consider Agent 47’s potential career changes.

The latest episode (Bangkok) is second best so far. Sapienza being the best.

The area consists of huge luxury hotel, river docks, terraces and backyard. It resembles in a way the Blood Money mission House of Cards. There is less outdoor areas than in Paris, it's mainly just interiors. Plenty to do and discover here. It's less crowded, there isn't big meaningless masses of people like in Marrakesh. Each NPC is individual with a function. This helps with the frame rate, Thailand runs better than the two episodes before it. Optimization overall still isn't great though.

6 new weapon unlocks, fairly interesting compared to Marrakesh unlocks. Could be better, but they are probably spreading the more interesting gear throughout all episodes.

First off, graphics are not a major part of a game for me but the beauty of the game environment left me stunned, even after endlessly playing through the previous episodes, the graphic fidelity of Bangkok still manages to amaze me. I thoroughly enjoyed my first and second play through of this map and I am positive that I will enjoy many more to come. While I cannot speak for everyone, I know that, personally for me, that the first time is ,quite frankly, a blast and for the best experience, I would highly recommend going in blind because the feeling when you carefully plan out how you will assassinate your target is and then execute it is pure joy. On my second play through before writing this, I decided to go in gun blazing just to get both sides of the extreme (complete stealth and complete action) and while it wasn't as punishing as I was hoping, i'd be lying if I said it wasn't a challenge and that I didn't die at least once. The only real problem I had with this is how similar it is to the Paris episode, but this counted by adding a lot of fun and cool things inside the hotel. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the previous episodes and people who like action or stealth. Full Review »

    Hitman Bangkok
    The weakest hitman episode yet…
In terms of the overall story arch, this is a great episode... but in terms of actual gameplay, this is the weakest weve seen in these episodic hitman releases...
In this episode your targets are a young recording artist who may or may not have killed a young actress as well as his family attorney…
The map feels alive much better than the last episode… but there’s just so little to do and see this time around…
This was probably the easiest hit yet only taking me about 45 minutes to complete…
But within a brief window of about 5 minutes I felt like I’ve scoped the entire place out
It takes place in one hotel that feels way too compact compared to what the series has had us used to.. And this is the place where this kid is celebrating his 27th birthday
so you get to crash his party any way you see fit,
I personally chose to just poising the whole place and bounce…
This is the first time playing a hitman episode that my mind wasn’t racing… where I didn’t feel like I had to plan…
I’m feeling stronger than ever that an episodic release of this series was a mistake as I’m sure had this product been released as a whole, this map wouldn’t bother me as much as it does.
    I give Hitman Bangkok a
