I got this cheap and if you like Godzilla or you like a quick 5 minute rampage through a city you should get this. It gets repetitive fast and you have to grind to level up, but for 5-20 minute bursts, this is glorious fun and is something I keep coming back to.

There were two games I bought the PS4 for. The Last of Us Remastered and Godzilla. When I saw Angry Joes review for the game, I decided to wait for the price to drop before picking up the game. I am disappointed that the latest Godzilla game isn't that great. As a game its incredibly repetitive and and lacking content.

But I'm a hardcore Godzilla fan and I actually did enjoy running

But I'm a hardcore Godzilla fan and I actually did enjoy running around as a kaiju destroying buildings(you'd think someone would make an open world godzilla game like that) and fighting other monsters even if the combat in the game is simple. It's fun unlocking my favorite kaijus and playing as them, that entertained me, but after playing through the campaign over 100 time, I've gotten sick of it and needed a break.

This game could of been so much more and it's not worth buying if you're not a hardcore Godzilla fan. For Hardcore Godzilla fans this isn't worth buying new or full price, go out and buy a cheap use copy if your curious.

As much as people love to hate on this Godzilla game, I actually loved it. It was a cinematic game, which is rare, and you had so many monsters to choose from. With really good graphics for a monster game. It felt like you were in the game. The only thing negative I have to say was it was slow, I wanted the game to move faster, like in Godzilla: Save the Earth.

It's not as bad as people are making out to be. Is it worth $60? Definitely not. Try $20 at the most. The Graphics aren't as bad as people say, They're pretty average not awful just not something that stands out. Is it repetitive? Yes but oddly less repetitive than recent Dynasty Warriors games. Is the acting terrible? No, not really. People say it's laughable and cheesy but all I hear is average acting that gets the job done. Is the fighting well done? Eh, the fighting is pretty meh. What makes matters worse is there's little use of blocking or dodging and that everything you do in single player modes carries over to online which makes the game void of traditional fighting and more of a contest on who has the strongest monster and not who IS the strongest monster. Speaking of online there is no offline versus mode which means no COM or Local Multiplayer like Godzilla games such as Destroy all monsters melee. Are the controls that bad? Actually, no. The controls work for a Godzilla game the only big problem is that you turn with L1 and R1 which can get annoying and sometimes even get you stuck being hit from behind by other monsters becoming very cheap, very fast. Overall, it's mildy interesting for Godzilla fans but that's about it. It's not as bad as people make it out to be but that doesn't mean it's good. Keep your hopes low and don't spend too much on it and you might get a kick out of it. Expand

This game is a Godzilla game. If you are planning on purchasing this product with hopes that its a graphical masterpiece, controls on a dime, or has stellar sound, then the issue might not be with the game. This is not the Witcher 3 or Bloodborne. This game knows exactly what it is. I don't think this game was produced with the hopes of winning game of the year or dominating any charts. In regards to its content Godzillas theme is used well, and it definitely pays homage to anyone that grew up with the monster. The buildings effects, camera angles, and gritty films are a nice touch as well.

Like I said. If you liked the monster and enjoy nostalgia... purchase this game.

Godzilla PS4 as far as I can tell is a Godzilla simulator, you stomp around smashing and fighting monsters.
The graphics are pretty dated and this can prevent you from the fun when you see the same old building over and over, if you get past the graphics quality on the world you'll see that the monsters themselves are beautiful and nicely detailed from head to toe.

Gameplay wise it's controls are un-necessarily clunky with some strange configurations which could be so much more simple, this is not the case though.
The rest of the game is a lot of fun and nostalgic seeing your favourite monsters come into a city and challenge you, which always ends bad for them. There is no challenge. The game is way to easy and I constantly wipe the floor with the other monsters unless it's a Super X3 who is always off screen flying by out of sight.
Overall it's a fifty fifty with nice fun nostalgic gameplay for G fans and boring outdated gameplay for your average gamer.

P.S for those wondering about frame rate, for me on PS4 it runs a common console 30fps which could easily be at 60 without a cap

I think people were expecting this game to be like the "Destroy All Monsters" game for the GameCube. It isn't. I still think it's good, though I completely understand peoples criticisms. You're very slow, the gameplay is repetitive, and it's rather focused on destroying things and then kaiju. What I like about it are branching paths of difficulty, over 45 different kaiju to fight, andI think people were expecting this game to be like the "Destroy All Monsters" game for the GameCube. They should've called this "Godzilla Simulator 2015." People probably would've pissed less vinegar if they had known what was coming.

Its not a 10 star game by any means. But Its fun. Multiplayer is most likely the best part of the game. 3 player versus can always be fun when teaming up on another monster. Of course unless they team up on you. Single player is repeats itself to much. Its boring doing the same missions over and over but its nice to at least get items from beating up monsters to level your own up. TheIts not a 10 star game by any means. But Its fun. The Controls are interesting. L1 and R1 are used to turn left and right while the left joystick only moves you in a certain direction. As for graphics the character models are very well done. The scenery on the other hand is lacking. But most of it almost always gets blown up so Its not exactly the most important thing in the game. I would say this would be good for people looking for a filler game to pass the time of for Godzilla fans. Also for streamers I would also recommend this. Its a different game to play on stream which attracts more viewers and as long as you look past the strange quirks is surprisingly an enjoyable game. Expand

While the gameplay gets rather repetitive I really enjoy the simplicity of being just able to hop the game and destroy everything as a giant kaiju. Unlocking everything is definitely a grind but I enjoy the Godzilla franchise so it wasn't a problem. Godzilla reeks of disappointment from every fiber of its being. It's boring as hell and hard to control. What on Earth were the developers thinking? [Jan 2016]

All in all, there may not be enough substance for a gamer to really stick around and play the game more than a few times in curiosity.

Seeing a game like this in 2015 is... well, unbelievable. It's an utter pile of Kaiju waste, with horrible gameplay, dated graphics, and a repetitive campaign.
