Jul 29, 2015If you really wanna play and have fun with Godzilla and you still have an Xbox or a GameCube, Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee will give you much more (more and more) satisfaction.
-
Nov 4, 2015All in all, there may not be enough substance for a gamer to really stick around and play the game more than a few times in curiosity.
-
Jul 29, 2015Godzilla is a game only for hardcore fans of the kaiju genre. If you aren't, the game will be a great disappointment due to its repetitive gameplay mechanics or its mediocre visuals.
-
Jul 20, 2015Godzilla faithful will be once again disappointed by this lackluster offering. Unintuitive controls, poor responsiveness, broken combat, repetitive missions…
-
Jul 15, 2015Apart from it’s massive roster of Kaiju and an encyclopedia of monsters, Godzilla's poor graphics, uncomfortable controls, and overly repetitive missions make this one of the worst renditions of the King of the Kaiju since he fought Matthew Broderick in Madison Square Garden back in ‘97.
-
Aug 5, 2015Not even remotely does justice to the legend of Godzilla. They have focused on creating monsters and have somehow forgotten to create gameplay that doesn't make you yawn.
-
Jul 27, 2015Clunky controls, poor visuals, and boring and repetitive gameplay make this game experience one that you should skip.
-
Jul 23, 2015Godzilla is a game that could have been fun, but the lack of depth and variety destroy the game. The controls are slow and strange. Added to that, the game misses all the necessary details and m,manages to become dull fast.
-
Jul 21, 2015I can't deny that I had a blast with Godzilla. Seeing my favorite monsters and controlling them to defend or invade cities gave me nothing but smiles as a fan of the franchise. However, it is impossible to ignore the lack in the technical aspect, summed up to the awkwardness in the controls.
-
Jul 21, 2015Destroying cities and fighting other Kaijus is fun at first, but the joy Godzilla offers vanishes in a couple of gaming sessions. Godzilla was created for the fans, but at some point the development took a turn for the worse and it ended up turning into a game that would've been better on mobile.
-
Jul 21, 2015Godzilla has managed to strike terror on the patrons of Tokyo for years, but sadly his latest game does that for very different reasons. By providing slow gameplay and downright boring levels, Godzilla manages to somehow take all of the fun out of playing with giant monsters.
-
Jul 20, 2015It's definitely a tribute to Godzilla, and the biggest fans of the monster will enjoy many of its moments, but as a game there are to many failed aspects.
-
Jul 20, 2015It might be an interesting game to get, at a budget price, for trash fans and kaiju fanatics, but the truth is that's its the only appeal.
-
Jul 17, 2015What could have been a cheese-filled celebration of the history of one of the most famous movie monsters around instead winds up as a tragic and premature obituary.
-
Jul 17, 2015You can find fun in causing destruction in Godzilla for about forty-five minutes, before the repetitive game play, awkward controls and disappointing Kaiju fights take their toll. Godzilla deserved better.
-
Jul 17, 2015Its poor graphics, repetitive missions and awful controls make this Godzilla a bad videogame.
-
Jul 17, 2015Sadly, the game is devastated as the cities it portrays.
-
Jul 15, 2015Perhaps Godzilla will get a decent game by his hundredth anniversary, but this isn’t it.
-
Jul 14, 2015A love of the movies can only get you so far when the experience is this frustrating and hollow. What a letdown.
-
Pelit (Finland)Mar 3, 2016Godzilla reeks of disappointment from every fiber of its being. It's boring as hell and hard to control. What on Earth were the developers thinking? [Jan 2016]
-
Jul 17, 2015Don’t bother with Godzilla because it’s a tedious, poorly produced, irritating, utterly underwhelming production that has only the bare minimum to offer die-hard followers of the franchise.
-
Jul 24, 2015Visually the reincarnation of the cult monsters is a disappointment, brought down by the sluggish controls and redundant mission design. Godzilla should have stayed in hibernation.
-
Jul 17, 2015While it does have a lot of fan service, it really doesn’t have much else besides clunky gameplay, horrible visuals, and repetitive gameplay.
-
Jul 17, 2015A waste of a great opportunity to achieve a great gaming-experience. Godzilla deserves better than a PS2 engine and a sloppy gameplay mechanics that lacks the enthusiasm of a great action-arcade. Even die-hard fans should stay away from it.
-
Oct 28, 2015Seeing a game like this in 2015 is... well, unbelievable. It's an utter pile of Kaiju waste, with horrible gameplay, dated graphics, and a repetitive campaign.
-
CD-ActionSep 18, 2015Playing Godzilla does not hurt. It probably does not cause diseases or wildfires. I just don’t know if that’s enough of a reason to recommend it. If you’re not the biggest Godzilla fan in the world, steer clear of it and be happy that not all games look like this. [09/2015, p.56]
-
Games Master UKSep 1, 2015Shallow scraps and a painful pace suck the fun out of what should have been a grand monster mash. [Sept 2015, p.69]
-
Sep 1, 2015Poor graphics and tedious gameplay. [Issue#164, p.93]
-
Aug 11, 2015Maybe the worst tie-in of the last few years.
-
Jul 29, 2015Bumbling combat, laughable visuals, and terribly overpriced.
-
Jul 24, 2015The worst part about my experience with Godzilla is the fact that it didn't provide laughs or enjoyment because of its poor quality. Instead, I just sat there bored for much of the time as I endlessly destroyed cities and fought other monsters in terribly unbalanced fights. On top of all that, the game costs $60 despite its lack of meaningful content
-
Jul 21, 2015It takes a special kind of ineptitude to make a game about giant monsters incredibly boring, but Natsume Atari has managed to do a world-class job of it.
-
Jul 20, 2015Godzilla should be fertile material for a fun game, but the slow pacing and shallow controls hold it back, creating a repetitive experience that misses too many opportunities for me to recommend it to anyone but the most hardcore of Godzilla fans.
-
Jul 20, 2015It all adds up to a sad and baffling state of affairs for Godzilla's current-gen debut. It's a game that would have felt lackluster and empty even if it had actually come out on the PS2.
-
Jul 17, 2015Godzilla commits so many game design sins that they become impossible to count, but the greatest horror of them all is that such giant monsters could be so boring.
-
Jul 16, 2015Perhaps developer Natsume Atari intended to replicate the experience of wearing a Godzilla costume while filming a movie, but no gamer should ever have to endure gameplay this cumbersome and poorly designed.
-
Jul 15, 2015Due to poor funding or a bankruptcy of talent, GODZILLA is a sad excuse for a game desperately attempting to be a worthy adaptation of the beloved monster series. Cheap, bumbling, and interminably boring, it’s a bargain basement budget release with the unbelievable gall to present itself as a major “AAA” release.
-
Aug 12, 2015I honestly don't know why this game was released on PS4. Godzilla didn't deserve this.
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKSep 21, 2015Stale gameplay, unevocative level design and a control scheme that's about as responsive as a cave troll on Ketamine. [Oct 2015, p.89]
-
Jul 24, 2015Godzilla's biggest flaw -- thanks to its horrendous performance across the board -- is that it forgets to be fun or anything closely resembling that.
-
Jul 17, 2015And that's what it feels like to play Godzilla - you're a man in a giant suit, blindly bumbling around a fake cardboard city, swinging your arms and trying not to pass out - not because you're exhausted, but because you're bored out of your mind.
-
Jul 17, 2015More Godzooky than Godzilla, this is not only a terrible game but a technically inept one – that can’t even make stepping on tanks seem like fun.
-
Jul 17, 2015You would think a game in which you can pimp-slap a moth as a 40ft-tall garbage monster couldn’t possibly be that bad. You would, however, be wrong.

Dec 8, 2015Unabashed masochism is the only discernible justification for putting any time into Godzilla.
