    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I bought a PS4 and i was tallking with my brother what should i buy for it. And i said, damn if GOW3 was on PS4 i would buy it instantly. After dinner that day, i went on my PC and found out that GOW3 is getting a PS4 remaster. Coincidence? I don't think so.Being a PS3 game at the end of the day, the remastered graphics may not be up to current PS4 standards, but they're still very good. Definitely acceptable. Graphics aren't the reason I like this game though. The gameplay is amazing, and fun. Boss fights are epic and even the general fighting is solid.
    The puzzles could've been harder but the scenery/locations are pretty cool.

    Fantastic game about killing greek gods with awesome atmosphere throughout entire game. God of war that the fans loved and remebered at it's best.

    Una actualización para el mejor juego que salió en la consola PS3, ahora en PS4, gráficos que se ven muy bien hoy en día, y una jugabilidad que alcanza la perfección para la saga. Sin duda, si te gustan los videojuegos debes jugarlo.

    Basically a frenetic and brutal boss rush through the Olympus. Fun as hell.

    The remastered doesn't change almost anything, the graphics aren't as good as current gen, but don't make the game less enjoyable.

    A fun and testosterone-filled final Greek adventure for Kratos that suffers from it's aged gameplay and, at times, spiky-haired-monster-energy-drinking-4th-grader storytelling.

    Juego muy bueno, que le sienta como un guante la remasterización a PS4, historia impresionante, ayuda a conocer la mitología más que 20 clases de historia, Kratos espectacular como siempre, varias armas y sistemas de lucha. Un juego al que es imprescindible jugar.

    That was such a great experience. 13+ hours of gameplay, amazing story, really good combat mechanics, interesting characters, this game is a masterpiece. I'm really sad tho that i couldn't experience the original saga. When i was younger i was watching someone else play them all on PS3 but i don't really remember much out of this. I hope they'll remaster the rest of the games, or at leastThat was such a great experience. 13+ hours of gameplay, amazing story, really good combat mechanics, interesting characters, this game is a masterpiece.     God of War 3 is all story it is the final chapter to Kratos's revenge against the Gods. I do love this story even if Kratos is more or less a psychotic maniac who is so hell bent on revenge he kills any and everyone. Like some dude who just happens to be in his way and is begging for his life; well Kratos gives him some good ole Spartan hospitality by beating his brains in and killing him. So he is not a relatable character or even a redeemable one not every character needs to be. I will say if you haven't ever played a God of War game but have a PS4 play this. While it is a third entry into an ongoing story you won't be lost. The game recaps everything you'd need to know. On the PS3 I started with this game and it is probably my second favorite in the series. Now this may be me knowing everything to do so I flew through it. The campaign is not long at all. For a story driven game a six hour story is less to be desired. It is a fun six hours but still not much after this story. The story has a definitive ending that has a couple of... well not twist but interesting turns is how I'd like to put it. I'll say I'd be surprised if this game had a direct sequel.

    The game sound is great the music is so **** epic, fighting the bosses has me going **** yeah about 90% of the time. The voice acting is well done even if Kratos only shows about one emotion. I do love characters that are pissed off all the time, because I will never understand constantly being angry. If a God just tried talking to Kratos maybe he'd calm down they'd have a good cry and all would be forgiven. Sorry getting off topic at hand. The games graphics look about as good as they did on the PS3. That's not a slight against the game in fact it is a compliment to the PS3 version on how amazing it looked. I will say those of you who haven't messed around with the screen borders on your PS4 yet, DO IT. Seriously, otherwise you get this black box around the game which immediately pulls me out of any immersion I would have had.

    The gameplay is a hack n slash game with some fairly simple puzzles in the mix. This combat is so well designed that many games have copied it including a franchise known as Castlevania. That says something there. This game is full of interesting Greek Myth enemies with a ton of boss fights that are all more epic than the next. If you don't like brutal violence or HBO levels of **** just out for no reason well maybe stay away from this game and enjoy some Matlock. The game has this semi metroidvania style to it where you go back to some areas with new equipment and unlock new areas and treats. The puzzles can be annoying, but nothing like the original God of War. I'm looking at you spike floor and spinning blade tower.

    In the end of it all I love this game and if you're a fan buy it the enjoyment is well worth the 40 dollars. Newcomers borrow from a friend it'll either hook you immediately or put you off instantly either way that in my opinion is the best way to see if God of War is for you. I love this game, but have a hard time telling non-fans to go buy it. I give this a 4/5. If it only had more than a short single player and challenge rooms it'd be a lot higher rating.    … Expand

    God of War 3 is an incredibly fun game with awesome set pieces that feature some of the most brutal fighting seen in a video game. Despite its gratuity it is a fun experience.

    Lo pasé un par de veces en el PS3, hace poco me lo prestaron y quise aprovechar para darle el visto bueno en PS4
    Realmente no se parece a un juego hecho para PS3, tal vez por eso le queda muy bien al PS4, acción al por mayor, variedad de enemigos, variedad de armas y ataques, una historia para cerrar el ciclo griego

    When I played God of War III in PlayStation 3 I remember to think, this is the beast game ever the graphics the scale everything was epic, almost 10 years now I played this wonderful game again.
    Like our good Greek Friend **** said “No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river, and he's not the same man.” so in this 10 years a lot of things change the combat in    When I played God of War III in PlayStation 3 I remember to think, this is the beast game ever the graphics the scale everything was epic, almost 10 years now I played this wonderful game again.
    Like our good Greek Friend **** said “No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river, and he's not the same man.” so in this 10 years a lot of things change the combat in Gow 3 still fun but a bit repetitive if compared with devil may cry 5 or Souls game the enemy design are too simple also and been honest the narrative that looks cool and badass now are just cringe.

    Put this all side, the music still epic as the CG the boss fights are fun and make you fell great specially in the Quick time events that only Santa Monica know how to make the violent and graphic at the same time never was so exciting to press square, so if you didn't play this master piece yet you can't lose it, god of war 3 is part of the video game history.     My first impression about this game was not so good: -faceless enemys and mobs -too pathos dialogues -classic slasher ( im not fan of this ganre) But then, after some progress, i understood, that o like this game.     . God of War III is one of the most blood pumping games I have tried in the last month . Things that keep sticking in my mind still to this day is the you are playing as the villain and it feels so good .Glorious ending for a series

    Esse é o melhor game da trilogia, com as melhores batalhas e os mais incríveis bosses, esteticamente é lindo com cenários bem detalhados e gameplay insana com um sistema de progressão muito bacana apesar de simples, jogo maravilhoso.

    I have never played any God of War (only in a supermarket briefly when I was a kid - it was probably God of war 1), so this remaster is my first expression of this game and I loved it. I have never played the original from 2010 so giving an opinion on remaster and not playing original is pretty difficult. I will give it 9 because of reviews of others - for me the game is 10/10.

    I´m a great fan of the GOd of War franchise, and the third game gets a 10 from me. The only flaw is that you can´t skip the cutscenes.

    I like new god of war on PS4. Therefore I played this prev version. But this is something else. For those who like souls games maybe yes, for otherone it is stupid game "click" "click" "click" no good story, stupid gameplay.

The greek mythology does give a platform to build in a solid lore, but it doesn’t go any deeper than that. Its cool and all, but the real fun is in the merciless brutality that makesIf you what you want is an amazing story and searching deeper meaning... this is NOT the game for you. If you want awesome fights, great bosses, epic music and overall killer gameplay, now we are talking.     This is a beautiful but bloody and brutal game. This has some great graphics, awesome bossfights, amazing scenery, and a decent challenge. This is not for the faint of heart or easily disturbed though. combat is extremely brutal.

The boss fights and stages are on a epic scale (the beginning titan is unreal), and it just gets better. Story is just fine as well. Gameplay is amazing, violence here in all its glory, and sound and music are perfect.Don't bother even reading GamerTyrant's 0 or any of the other 3 lame scores. God of War 3 is the best God of War game in the original trilogy, and for good reason. The boss fights and stages are on a epic scale (the beginning titan is unreal), and it just gets better.     Eu sinceramente,não vejo o porque de God of War ser tão popular, sua saga é basicamente um careca raivoso matando deuses do Olimpo.
    Eu não consigo aceitar a fraqueza destes deuses,onde deveriam ser onipotentes.

History with some good turns (others not very interesting), but with a decent closing for the Spartan Kratos that leaves you a bittersweet flavor but at the same time satisfying. Graphically the remastered version forWhat a magnificent game is God of War III. The saga has always been characterized by balancing action / puzzles / exploration to achieve a fluid and entertaining gameplay. History with some good turns (others not very interesting), but with a decent closing for the Spartan Kratos that leaves you a bittersweet flavor but at the same time satisfying.     Almost indecently enjoyable. Great hack and slash action through out. Enjoyable, sometimes challenging puzzles,and some insane boss fights. Just great fun to play.

    A really nice remaster that elevates the greatness of this game. The combat is frenetic, like every other GOW , the graphics are lovely on PS4 , the combos are even better, the new powers are awesome. A perfect ending to Kratos's revenge. A must have for GOW fans

El remaster le sienta muy bien, tiene gráficos bastante buenos y la ambientación,    Hack & slash, acción y aventura.

    El remaster le sienta muy bien, tiene gráficos bastante buenos y la ambientación, los personajes y los enemigos se precian mucho a destacar visualmente.

    La historia empieza arriba y sigue subiendo casi toda la partida, en el ultimo tercio se relaja un poco antes del subidón final pero el nivel medio es muy alto. El adjetivo que mejor lo describe es épico, te ves en situaciones únicas y espectaculares que suelen terminar de manera aún más espectacular.

    Jugablemente se siente como una picadora de carne. A diferencia del GOW de ps4 en este he sentido que era realmente un Dios de la guerra y así lo han sentido también mis enemigos con la gran cantidad de ejecuciones, agarres y golpes especiales que ofrece el combate. La variedad de enemigos y las distintas animaciones, ataques y finishers de cada uno no tienen comparación. Todos los combates contra jefes los he visto muy bien acabados salvo un par de ellos donde se podían haber pulido un poco mejor los hitbox o haber ajustado más la dificultad.
    La progresión es bastante natural, tienes mucha variedad de armas y ataques y los coleccionables están muy bien colocados. Los puzzles no son excesivamente complicados pero sí muy originales.

    Me parece un must play en toda regla para cualquiera que le guste el género y me da rabia no haber jugado la saga en su momento.

    I got this game free with PS plus. First, I thought after reading a few reviews that it would be a short game (8 hours or so) but I was wrong. Maybe I'm not the best player for action games but this game lasted 16-17 hours for me. I think there is a lot of content and the pace is really fast, maybe a little to much. There are a lot of fights against different group of ennemies and some areI got this game free with PS plus. First, I thought after reading a few reviews that it would be a short game (8 hours or so) but I was wrong. Maybe I'm not the best player for action games but this game lasted 16-17 hours for me. I think there is a lot of content and the pace is really fast, maybe a little to much. There are a lot of fights against different group of ennemies and some are really challenging. I found the battles against bosses really interesting and the animations are wonderful (this is a major strength for this game)

    Overall, this game looks really good but we can feel it's a bit old. I still had the impression it was pretty well remastered though. Also, you can expect a lot of violence...I don't want to spoil anything but this game is definitely not for kids (raw violence more than anything else I played before)

    I give 8/10 for this game but I understand why some would give a 9 or even a 10 when it was first released in 2010. I think we can compare this game to Darksiders 2 but in term of pacing, I would compare it to the Uncharted series    … Expand

    Il gameplay e però, purtroppo, leggermente invecchiato, così come la grafica, e non è stato fatto nulla per rendere moderni questi aspetti. Nonostante nsi senta a tratti il salto generazionale, trama, violenza gratificante e livelli di gioco, rendono grazia alla    voto 80/100.

    Motivation to play the Game

    I've played this game before (or at least attempted to) and just didn't like it. Then this year, I played God of War (2018) and its one of the best games that I have ever played. So I figured that I should give this game another try. Why I did not finish the game I just don't like it, the story is a bad revenge story.     I will not say much about this game. There is even more to them than a player would like. Epic fights nice music many RPG elements and is generally a game station for the time it was released. Now in the years 2018 that I'm back in ps4 after Kratos' big comeback with God of War 4, I see it naturally more mature but I still admire it and try to judge it as well without being affected by theI will not say much about this game.     Good and dynamic Hack and slash game. Excellent gameplay and boss fights, 60 fps pleasing the eye, there is no drawdown. The main disadvantage of this game is its duration, I passed it in about 10 hours, which is not enough. If you took the game on a subscription to ps plus, then this is the perfect game for you.

    I just played it to get a head start for the new GoW game, and while it was fun, that fun was kind of mindless. The almost cartoon-like repetitive brutality doesn't cut it for me, and the graphics didn't age well, not even with the remaster.

    God of War is my favorite games series. God of War is my favorite part so far, but I think it's a consistent story from 1 to 3, you have to look at it completely and it's just awsome. The graphics and gameplay were so great on the PS3 and it looks so much better on the PS4. I hope I fall in love with the new God of War.

    I didn't play the original on PS3. This version is apparently still awesome. Looks good, combat is fierce hack'n' slash and the bosses are impressive as is the setting. Worth the money.

    I use to play the God of War series as a kid, waiting till my folks went to bed or whenever I went over to a friend's house that didn't mind the violent and sexual content to play the games. Some of them I liked, others I was cool with and never really hated or disliked any of them. I think this is due to the visuals, presentation, brutality and music score playing such a vital part. Now I did not play all the God of War series as God of War 3 was the biggest one I missed. Seeing the PS4 only remaster this one and not add on the previous two was baffling, but regardless seeing the 60 FPS and higher graphics on display really gave the game a good show. I decided to play it and see what some were calling the best God of War game ever made and one of the best games of all time. And in some ways, I agree.

    God of War 3 starts exactly where the second one left off, with Kratos being guided by Gaia and the Titans up Mt. Olympus to seek vengeance on the Greek gods. Things start off intense with a fight on Gaia's body against mobs of enemies and Poseidon. From there Kratos decimates (as he always does in every game) everything in his path, leaving very little in his wake. It's a pretty straight forward story that obviously is not trying to be clever with its writing and is solely focused on the vengeful character that was anticipating for fans of the series. And it ends on a grim yet hopeful note.

    It feels like a standard God of War game: you use your dual chain blades to attack targets in different combos, you do QTE finishers and grapple breaks, button mashers for story events, opening things and so on, you engage in a sex minigame, the weapons all feel relatively the same from the previous but with some visual flair, you kill gods, greek mythos creatures and people, there is nothing here that has changed. What has changed for sure is the scale; the PS2 compared to the PS3 had limiting hardware that made the first two games similar by graphics and features. For God of War 3, the visual presentation to those games is colossal both literally and visually, as buildings, enemies, the visceral combat and finishers all look superior in every way to the original. What Saint Monica did was a refinement of God of War to its absolute peak, not CHANGE or INNOVATION, so anyone who thinks its innovative is very misguided. Enough about that though, how does the game do?

    It does a great job of getting in your face and killing everything with reckless abandon. I always found God of War games to be easy compared to Devil May Cry because their focus was more on the spectacle and brutality over style and complexity. I could spam my way through levels with only a certain few combos and get high combo chains with little risk in all of them and this one was no exception. Of course I loved slaughtering everything in my path and I tried mixing combos together, but the versatility/effectiveness of other weapons seemed to be imbalanced. The Chains of Olympus, the Claw of Hades and the Nemesis whip all feel the same and the Caestus felt underwhelming, making my main weapons the best to use. The other items, such as Herme's boots, Apollo's head and Icarus wings all seem more gimmicky and not fully utilized, making them feel like one offs or trophies Kratos has instead of having more unique functions that can add to the combat.

    The puzzled are pretty standard fare, but don't go beyond what was already established from the previous games. The boss fights all feel samey in terms of strategy; dodge their attacks, attack a bit when there is an opening, wait for button prompt, repeat. The scale is definitely better so let me briefly give my thoughts on each one:

    Poseidon: Good tutorial boss that has equal qtes as main combat.
    Hades: Solid boss with cool looking chain attacks visually and physically.
    Helios: Not really a boss, more of a "kill all enemies" sort of gimmick. His execution is definitely memorable though.
    Hermes: Once again, more of a gimmicky boss of just following him and attacking him a bit. Not really all that great.
    Hercules: A better boss then the previous two with a extremely epic finisher of punching his face in with his own Caestus.
    Cronos: Disappointingly simple that makes it more QTE focus and gimmicky.
    Hephaestus: Equally disappointing and really lame. QTE focused too.
    Skorpius: Feels more like a beefed up regular enemy than a boss, but satisfying to beat.
    Zeus: Similar to Hercules and Poseidon, very good final boss with a similar finisher like Hercules.

    Other notes: The music is great, the voice acting is solid and well done, the visuals are impressive and the ending was satisfying.

    I think of God of War more of an "experience" more than a game, but this is one still worth replaying. As long as you want a bloody good fight and like large scale movie style, this game will definitely cover you. If not at the very least it will be an entertaining experience.    … Expand

It provides an epic, brutal finale to the trilogy of God of War games with awesome set pieces, great bosses and the tried and true hack 'n' slash combat fans know and love. It also offers some decent puzzles just as the previous entries did.     - Great set pieces - helped create a dark, violent, unsettling atmosphere
    - Stellar combat and weapon variety, if a little repetitive. Smooth, easy to use combos were a joy to play.
    - Thrilling boss fights
    - Slick visuals, looks like a modern game.
    - Amazing opening battle scene, loved the variety of monsters and the battles with the giant titans

    Negatives:

    - Wish I had control of the camera
    - Even though I watched "God of War in 5 minutes" on YouTube, I still wish I had a better idea what was going on story-wise so I could understand why Kratos was so damn angry. Even without the context of the first two, the story clearly wasn't spectacular.
    - Mediocre acting - I can't think of a single character that did a particularly good job
    - The story lost steam for me after the opening hours of the game. In the beginning I felt caught up in the mad dash to kill Zeus, but I kind of forgot about it for some reason in the middle.
    - As noted in the "positives," while the combat felt addictive to me at first and loved the easy to use variety of combos, it felt repetitive after a while.
    - Really odd sex scene with Aphrodite that uses QTEs, I could have done without it.    … Expand

GoW III features the most WOW opening of any game I can remember, with Kratos charging against    God of War III was a masterpiece of a game for the PS3, and Sony Santa Monica outdid themselves after the acclaimed God of War and GoW 2 games. Now it's on PS4, in better shape than before.

    This game concludes Kratos' story of revenge against the Gods of Olympus in fictional Ancient Greece. GoW III features the most WOW opening of any game I can remember, with Kratos charging against Mount Olympus while riding Gaia and his allies the Titans, then fights and kills Poseidon straight away before being sent to the Underworld by Zeus so that the game proper can begin (hey, if that didn't happen the game would last 3 hours max). What better and more epic way to start a game! But the rest of it is no slouch. Each new boss battle is better than the last. Each new area is more beautiful than the previous one. Even violence has become more prevalent, there were moments I sympathised with Kratos' victims, but there is nothing too gory. The final fight against Zeus is mostly presented as a 2D fighting game, which is a nice change of pace. Ultimately Kratos wipes the Greek gods out of the face of the Earth. Surprise! XD Don't say I spoilt the story. Did you really expect anything different?

    Graphics are amazing, the epic scale of battles has become even more epic (the battle against the Titan Kronos is featured in no other game), gameplay is as always solid with a mix of hack n' slash, platforming and puzzles (unfortunately there is a puzzle late in the game that plays with perspective and I couldn't solve it without reading a walkthrough). The Remastered version runs at a locked 60 fps and displays at 1080p resolution, but the game's assets haven't been really touched upon relative to the PS3 original.

    All in all, God of War III Remastered is a terrific game. If you missed it on the previous generation because you owned another console or a PC do yourselves a favor and just buy it and play it, it's one of the best and most spectacular games you will ever experience.    … Expand

Infelizmente, não vou dar mais porque o jogo é nota 10, mas pra uma remasterização é fraco. Espero que GOW4 realmente tenha gráficos melhores, porque esses estão ultrapassados.

    Amazing game, if you love any of the older GOW games you'll love this one.

    I only read one bad review on here that actually critiqued the game and sounded like they had played it. All the other bad reviews sounded like they came from salty people who never played it but just needed to leave a bad score for some reason or another.

    Favorite Thing: Combat's fun, story's good, boss fights are great
    Least Favorite Thing: I still hate QTEs, though at least the position them in such a way you don't have to think too much about it

    I dont know why I bought this game, maybe because it had been quite a long time since I last played the PS3 version, or maybe because I missed seeing my screen full of blood of the enemies.

    GoW III is probably the best game in the series. A must-play, even more at 1080/60 fps.

    Some the set pieces and atmosphere are amazing. Too bad you cant move the camera around that much to enjoy it more so. The action is gripping and exciting but somewhat repetitive after a while (ie same enemies spawned over and over in different waves).
    Last boss fight dragged on for too long but was still enjoyable and epic.

    Being a PS3 game at the end of the day, the remastered graphics may not be up to current PS4 standards, but they're still very good. Definitely acceptable. Graphics aren't the reason I like this game though. The gameplay is amazing, and fun. Boss fights are epic and even the general fighting is solid.
    The puzzles could've been harder but the scenery/locations are pretty cool.
    It's a must play

    After the first boss I stopped playing, mostly because I wanted to start other games. I couldn't bring myself back to GoW until recently when I finished the game. I found it quite fun, decent graphics,    I really had no interest in this game, but saw it sitting in a used games bin for $15 (or $10 if I purchased another game), so I thought I'd try it since it's one I see often praised.

    All good games for PS4 are remastered version of masterpieces for PS3. This is just one more example.

    Graficos muy buenos, historia entretenida aunque ya no me fue tan sorpresiva pues ya lo habia jugado en ps3, sin duda recomendable para pasar horas con mucha diversion.

    One of the greatest games ever with lipstick on. In my view these games should be played on the hardest mode of difficulty to get the most out of them. Whilst you can leave the difficulty low and mash your way through the glorious story and scenery the game experience is so much better when you need to block and parry etc etc.

    Well, really nice game. Although I finished it earlier on PS3, I still had lot of fun with the remake. Reviews with scores less than 5 are just... not worth reading. Its just a game and by all means good one. Just dont buy this to your kids, or Your grandparents :P

    God Of War 3 Remastered is a must own if you're a fan of hack'n'slash games. The combat is fun, satisfying,crunchy, and runs at 60 FPS. The graphics are also very good. Buy this game If you like hack'n'slash games.

    Was good not as good as 1st n 2nd to me. Half the gods arent even true boss battles like and not many large bosses either. worth it to finish the trilogy...or does it???

    My favorit GoW episode. I think this remaster version is good for new ps players, and who have PS4 console. But i bought too and i love it more than the PS3 version.

    God of War 3 is game that I really wanted to play but unfortunately i do not have a PS3 when it was released. I bought a PS4 and I was happy that this game was released in the system.

    The graphics and story of God of war is truly remarkable.

    A must play for PS4 owners and a game I would truly recommend.

    A zero-hassle remaster of a great action hack 'n' slash. The combat system is still great, even if inferior to that of some Japanese games of the same genre, and the graphics have aged extraordinarily well. Still, as we said, a lot more could have been done in this remaster.

    The fact that the Photo Mode is one of the emphasized features tells everything about how necessary this remaster was and how much effort was put into it. Yes, the textures are sharper, the lighting is better, but the difference is not breathtaking, because the game was already stunningly beautiful before. It’s not how I imagined Kratos’ assault on PS4. So why such a high score? Five years later it’s still an exceptional game and I envy everyone who is to experience this grand adventure for the first time. [09/2015, p.43]
