    Wasn’t expecting much, just a cool looking samurai game. After around 50 hours and the platinum trophy it turned out to be one of my favourite games of the year. Exploration feels very rewarding and addictive (not like a chore like most other games). The combat is clean and feels amazing paired with a good story. Would 100% recommend to anyone who loves samurai movies/games and or fun openWasn’t expecting much, just a cool looking samurai game. After around 50 hours and the platinum trophy it turned out to be one of my favourite games of the year. Exploration feels very rewarding and addictive (not like a chore like most other games).     Amazing open world samurai game, Scenery is very stunning and the story was well written. The ending was perfect and it also had me in tears, it was one of the best games I've ever played. I hope theres a sequel in the future! And on top of that an update for multiplayer is being added into the game as well

Beautiful visuals, I can't even begin explain how many hours I spent riding the coast and exploring the island on my trusty horse, the combat is smooth and flowing and while repetitive, fun. The storyline was beautiful, the amount of twists and heartbreaking moments that really brought the emotion out was great, I easily got attached to characters and felt loss when they died. Even the side stories had me invested completely with the amazing voice acting. The only complaint I currently have is the lack of a new game + so I can expierence it all over again with my cooler armor from the start!… Expand

    A masterpiece of an open world. An emotional and gripping story showing what we are willing to give up in order to save our home. Tight and layered combant that connects with the themes of the story. Some of the best art design favoring beauty and aesthetics over realism. With a great ending.

    I have never reviewed a game here on meta critic but I wouldn’t be doing the game justice if I diddn’t give praise for this amazing game. This game is absolutely beautiful, I found that it was the only game for this generation of games I actively wanted to take screen captures. Also, The story is on another level.     Take a bow SP, take a bow. I can appreciate a game like this may get tiresome and repetitive for some but I found the length just right. Beautiful landscapes, lots to explore, various ways to play and more than enough customizable options. The ability to play in full Kurosawa mode alone is worth a replay but I'm going to save that for the PS5 version.

    This game is dope! From the graphics, to the world building, the combat system, and quality of content. This is the kind of game Sony and Sucker Punch should be proud of. This game would be a 10 but there are some minor technical glitches, like Jin's feet always seem to go through the ground on inclines.     I honestly don’t play a lot of ps4 games, I usually just wait for a select few to come out and omg I haven’t had his much fun playing a game since god of war!! The scenery is absolutely beautiful, the gameplay is so much fun, and if you want a challenge you can change game modes anytime!! I highly recommend anyone with a ps4 go out and get it you won’t be disappointed!

    This is a great game compared to most. This game has some of the most beautiful places you can see and the graphics are really good as well. Not only are you a samurai fighting to save the island from mongols your also the ghost and with that title come some repercussions. The gameplay is amazing and brutal but Jin is also smooth with his movements. All in all 10 out of 10

    Such a fun game. And way bigger than I initially expected. Who thought to include a haiku mechanic? Why do I enjoy it so much??? The environment is amazing. Being able to know what direction you need to head by following the wind is majestic. I am relieved every time I'm galloping too fast through the woods when I hit a tree and come to a stop instead of launching myself into space. I'mSuch a fun game.     If you've never watched the last samurai before then you might not get the ending.
    but you know and or somewhat understand Japanese culture and history then the end of this game rings Japanese culture perfection.
    Not only that but the combat is badass amazing

    One of the best games I have ever played. Amazing graphics and gameplay and seamless fighting mechanics. The story was easy to follow and kept my attention all the way through. Can't wait for Legends to come out. And imagine not having to pay for customizations. Great job Sucker Punch keep up the amazing work on the game.

The game is very beautiful when it comes at the nature of the island of tsushima they recreated. The flaws in the game yo can commonly find are the AI that is very deficient sometimes. In terms of gameplay it is very detailed and though the camera can give problems sometimes it does not take out the fun and realistic touch when fighting enemies. Also it has a lot of details about the Japanese culture, and throughout the story is very well presented the brutality of the of war.… Expand

A game so good coming from a period that created some of the worst games ever is a very refreshing sign that perhaps game publishers are getting it, kudos to sucker punch. The game is built upon a brilliant, nail-biting story that never ceases to amaze.     Easily the best game of the year so far and the best game I've played since The Witcher 3. They just need a game mode somewhere between hard and ultra hard. Still, hard mode can be challenging and ultra hard is basically no hit which I had fun with even though it's frustrating.

    Actually created a metacritic account just to review this and make sure people know this game is dope AF.

    Very cool game, I have not finished it yet, but i can tell you that it is awesome because it has a very deep story, awesome graphics, it is not boring while you are playing, I can compare this game with Red Dead Redemption 2 actually.

    I was not sure if I should give it a 9 or 10, but I am gonna go for 10 because it is like an oasis in the desert for current games where all of them are and look the same, this ones goes beyond that presenting a good story and beautiful landscapes, which look all different on the 3 different sections, lots of sidequests with their own story.     10/10 I'd been anticipating this game for a while and am so glad I bought it. It has gotten me back into gaming after about a 5 year hiatus.

    I honestly had a difficult time deciding on whether this was a 8 or a 9 until i came to a specific realization. I don't buy games full price at the 59.99 price tag. The last game I remember buying full price was Death Stranding and God of War before that. The potential this game had before release earned a buy and its worth every penny.

    Right off the bat my expectations were high past the "Over 9000" mark for this game. To live my Samurai Champloo fantasy while listening to Nujabes was what I didng think I needed until I played this and even then this game exceeded that expectation with the first five minutes and still blew me away with what I found hours later.

    Dont play this game on an easy difficulty. In my opinion it'll break the immersion. A man that can be blown up, stabbed a hundred times, and turned into a pincushion for arrows would destroy the stakes the story sets. The combat is fun on higher difficultly, I recommend lethal after getting your feet wet on Hard. It's not Dark Souls level of difficult but still a challenge if you let your guard down or get cornered. A game where an arrow to the chest or single sword swipe across the body can kill you, if in regular clothes, makes sense to me and I like that about a game, especially on lethal mode.

    I've faintly stopped to admire the atmosphere of many games just to get to the gameplay but this one had my eyes wide more times than I can count.

    The immersion, feeling like a samurai turned into a man doing wahts necessary to push back the Mongals was on point more times than not. At times i did wish that the story would shift depending on play style but nevertheless enjoyed it from start to finish. The story started and ended at the right now while many other open worlds grew boring because they exceed their necessary play time.

    I found my bugs funny as hell and immersion breaking at times, but loved my experience, the 60+ hours I've thrust into this game, and walking the land as a Samurai in such an unreal world.    … Expand

    Literally capped the genre. an unbelievably beautiful game with a thrilling story and even more exciting gameplay. the fun you have killing tons of Mongols is unrivaled. with each phase of the story you become stronger and more gnarly. been playing games like this one for as long as I remember but none have quite been like this. suckerpunch knocked it out of the park.

    Beautiful game with a great story. Can get a little buggy and the side missions can get a little repetitive, but those are the only blemishes i can think of to an otherwise great game.

    I was originally going to give the game just a high 8 because the story and gameplay are amazing but the camera is clunky sometimes and the auto tracking system for combat could be tighter like in the arkham games or Spider-man PS4. I'm giving it a 10 strictly because of the review bombing from salty tlou2 fans

Amazing graphics, control mechanics is simple, the story is wonderful, the armors & weapons looks incredible.     Loved every minute of it. The Game may not be skyrim level but the characters are deep and you feel with them, literally going on the journey Jin experiences with him. I will replay this game over and over again. One of my all time favourites.

    If there was an option for decimal points I would definitely give this game a 9.5, the visuals, soundtrack, combat, story, characters, immersion. Everything is good about this game. It’s a must own for any open world or single player enthusiast. There are some minor bug and polish issues but overall this game is nearly perfect

    Ghost of Tsushima is a fantastic game.

    The gameplay is fun, the world is beautiful and from what I played so far the story is very solid.

    The only problems I have with the game boil down to me nitpicking.

    If the climbing mechanics were more open this would be the game I wish Assassin's Creed would have become.

    Truly a wonderful game, I recommend it to anyone who owns a PS4.

    Like all games it has some flaws but they aren't major. Its beautiful, the quests are engaging and interesting. Gameplay is fun. The attention to detail with Japanese culture and history is amazing. Also free multi-player is going to be added.

    Outstanding game. Poignant story (with one of the best endings ever), absolutely beautiful graphics. Combat is bloody and brutal as it should be. The lethal difficulty added in one of the updates was a masterstroke, punishing bad habits and rewarding skill. 9.5/10 for me, you can tell the devs put their soul into it and I cant wait for the online co-op.

This game really blew my mind; at first I wasn’t interested in the game everyone was hyped and waiting for this game while I forgot that it was even a game in development, so one day my brother and I saw a playthrough and my brother wanted to buy it because his birthday was coming up and I was like “ok :“, he bought it and I was like “let’s give it a try”, I wasn’t really feeling it at the beginning but through the course of the game I began to understand why people were so excited for this, it has a really good story about how the samurai code can have flaws and get you to defeat, it explains that, it’s better to save a lot of people by doing the wrong way than save a little amount of people the right way. I will say graphics not that good compared to Tlou2 but story wise well that’s on another level, one thing that was repetitive and tedious were the fox shrines but that affects my rate as my interest in tlou2 story, none. 10/10 game would recommend ummend if you are the singleplayer type of guy/woman.… Expand

Now, lets get to the cons. The side activities (not the side missions) got really repetitive after a few hours. I never thought I could hate chasing something after a few hours, but I do now. The enemy tracking is **** ridiculous, you could be on the other side of Tsushima and some dude could glide towards you at mach 5 speed. THERE ARE TRAILING MISSIONS IN THIS GAME, that’s a sin on its own. Finally, the camera made me just want to turn off the game. That **** has died from 15 seizures and 21 strokes, just to revive and do it all over again. Its worse than Gravity Rush 2’s camera. Despite all those flaws, I think the game is fantastic, and the PS4 gets to bow out of this generation in a successful way.… Expand

    I will definitely play it again. I haven't finished the game on 100%, only the story and there's still some aspects i would like explore. I went with ''In your face'' Samurai fighting style, haven't played much as '' The Ghost'', only when the game required it and i didn't unlock all of the achievements and this time i'm going full Completionist.

    Beautiful graphics with an immersive, interesting story. The characters are well written and are fun to watch. The gameplay is smooth, satisfying and very fun, especially the combat which is unique and complex. The navigating system, which uses the wind, is one of the best and most interesting I’ve ever seen. Buy it.

    This game is one of the best this year. I absolutely loved the combat. The story was just as good. It was a bit glitchy at first but not a major issue. The world is so beautiful and I can just get lost in it. A must play.

    Crisp game play, 1274 AD Tsushima Japan playing as a Samurai name Jin fighting against the invading Mongolians. Compelling story and a breath taking open world. I had fun finishing this game and I loved every second of it. The combat was so bad ass that i find myself patting myself in the back after clearing crowds of Mongols in lethal difficulty and it's worth all the money in your wallet.

    This game is SHOCKING! Schockingly amazing. This is the best game of 2020: gorgeous graphics, amazing biohomes that are so colourful, and a crazy atmosphere. This game has beautiful storytelling, i was never bored and the games system with upgrading armour, weopens, and skills is awsome because each outfit looks amazing. This game is just perfect, and I'm not exaggerating.

    One of the best games to close the PS4 generation, thus leaving a very good legacy in the world of video games.
    The game embodies you in a samurai with whom you identify very quickly and think in the same way that you do, a genre that undoubtedly gives a fresh air and takes us a little out of the tradition of shooting games.

    Let’s start with the good. The combat in this game is really satisfying, my only issue was that the hardest difficulty was way easier than the difficulty right below it.     Let’s start with the good. The combat in this game is really satisfying, my only issue was that the hardest difficulty was way easier than the difficulty right below it. So I played the game on Lethal because I usually feel like that is the way the game was intended to be played but damn it’s too easy. All the enemies die after a maximum of two hits or sometimes one hit if they are in a staggered state.
    The duels on the other hand where perfect on lethal, having to dodge and block at the last possible moment to be able to survive felt amazing even though some attack animations where a little cheap to catch you off even when you where dodging but after dying a couple of times these issues just became a learning curve.
    The story felt like a true samurai story with characters that felt true and relatable. My only issue with the story was that it was way too long. After getting to Act III I was already checked out and just wanted to get to the end. The voice acting wasn’t anything special but it was good enough.
    My recommendation to anyone interested in playing this game is to skip all the side quests that don’t involve your companions since these mostly feel like filler and to not bother that much with searching for shrines, hot springs and haikus since these mostly just fill time and doesn’t really give you that much of an advantage.

    *SPOILERS AHEAD*
    Let’s talk more in depth about the story. The main villain, Khotun Khan was great. He felt like a real threat in every scene he was in. Until the last battle with him where you killed him without any real issue. This felt like an oversight and made it feel a little rushed to get to the end with the battle between Lord Shimura and Jin in the end.
    The choice in the end where you get to choose if Jin honours his Uncle’s wish to die a warriors death or spare him also felt very arbitrary and in my opinion Jin would obviously spare his father-figure since he loved him through the whole journey.

    Definitely a good game, maybe not a masterpiece but it’s well worth your time for the gameplay if nothing else.    … Expand

That's why haven't finished the game yet, but act 1 was really fun, haven't started exploring the are of act 2 at all.

    And the game isn't afraid of plot twists either. Plus a free co op game mode coming later. Best game I played all year!

Игра не изобилует разнообразием, боссы практически все идентичные, задания повторяются и абсолютно не запоминаются. Иди - убей, иди - найди, иди - освободи. К концу игры выполнять побочки уже абсолютно наскучило. Понятно, что бюджет, все дела, но такое ужасное однообразие в открытом мире - это не очень. Если сравнить с тем же рдром 2, у которого почему-то оценка пользователей 8.4, то там я не припомню ни одного повторяющегося побочного задания. То пьянка, то скачки, то ограбление, то избить кого-то, куча интересных вариантов. Здесь можно было сделать что-то подобное, если пораскинуть фантазией, но вместо этого - иди убей, иди найди. Я бы рад поставить 9, но после окончания сюжетной линии игра меня дальше абсолютно не завлекла и я ее тут же закончил, поэтому 8.… Expand

With respects to the handling of activities I still believe games like Witcher 3 did better. The main character you play as fits the setting and allows the player to truly get absorbed in the historical setting. The fighting stances and skills allow one to tackle objectives with some creativity which helps keep the game entertaining. This overall is one of my favorite games to come out of PS, and probably my favorite PS game this year.… Expand

    Ghost of Tsushima is a flawed, but fun, game. While the gameplay itself was solid, and the story was decent, I definitely expected a lot more from Sony’s final PlayStation 4 exclusive. It had enough to keep me hooked, but lacked the polish we’ve all grown to love from a Sony first party game.

    Ultimately, it feels like the game could have benefited from a smaller scope or a more linear structure. Focus on the duels could have created a more engrossing product, especially if it honed in on the narrative for a more concise and cinematic experience. But as it stands, Ghost of Tsushima is another AAA open world title and doesn’t seek to define itself as anything other than that.
