    Many thanks, Epic Games for full keyboard and mouse support on PlayStation 4. I'm not talking about emulation like Hori and etc. I mean full support. Just connect the keyboard + mouse to the PS4 and get a huge advantage in building and switching weapons. By these actions, you killed the competitive moments

Battle royale is a whole new addictive video game "tempo"(I like using that word) instead continuing tdm for far too long at a time, constantly dying from precision air strike, and people who are on their A-game, you'll play a much longer match, that maybe isn't about the ending, since if we really instantly quit to the lobby, why the hell are we playing. You're screwed with the aiming if your too far away, and smg's do nothing. Matches are much shorter than i thought, I thought they'd go on for hours but still, it's Caspian border sprinting over grassy hills times 10. When you're parachuting out the bus, with a dopey lame character rarely seen in games, you'll wonder(yes I'm borrowing this from that, Medal of Honor review) no, you'll realize your wasting your time on a level that hasn't been seen since a long, long, longer, time ago. Solo is the only way to maybe have one worthwhile kill, making you instered enough in the outcome, and I've seen some amazing battles that haven't been seen before in games. I'm proud of epic for turning their, company failure level flop, into something that is almost bigger than gears. But they sure did it in a shameless way. Shouldn't we rely on the makers that brought us the ultimate stuff to make the next evolution? In this case no. Why should we make a fuss about yet another post ME3 crate game(ok, 40 hours is evil) when we're seeing worse things, like the whole cosmetic items pull that is now on a much larger scale? Smashing jiggly bricks is a new mechanic that's on the level of some top shooting feedback. However, we're taught that fun but tedious moves give us xp or even small font size white text. Instead we really get nothing but having a supply of wood that will ether lead to a awsome new player created move of circle building", as i just made up(the name at least) or a control mishap of selecting the weapon you want but never get in time, or get hit the last fateful times when it's constructing in front of you. So all that(and when your in a squad they break brick for minutes at a time, in games, time is hyper useful) will probably lead to nothing. I love seeing the pro's (i,e the girl that killed you or the top 10, not some stupid e sporter or youtuber, ugh) use the build and shoot to masterfully show their personality though predetermined animations. It's like the final guy in search and destroy who place two claymores and do the yy tap thing after a kill. Quick building for cover while running away was something that showed me game mechanics can go farther and work. I don't like paragraphs. The little but important snap of seeing new animations, sounds, or textures is something that I've never seen before. Updating does show that we're getting the stick for playing a very early and reactive game. It depends how far it goes. If we see something totally superior to what we slogged through than I'll feel even more like that nearly 30 hours(wait, seriously, yeah i think it was like 20 something, that's absolutely ridiculous) was soul killing. But their also will be a little of I was important and the feeling of seeing a process never done by consoles and big names. Ever since skyrim and next gen, we've seen the focus go to a great wealth of content that just wouldn't have done before, but if you think about it, they definelty could have done way more worthwhile and not time disrespecting(think Gt freakin A, I did it cause there was nothing else and I always complete baby) content that might've made this incredibly disappointing half generation(I was really too idealistic) be composed of memorable moments(I can't think of any other way to put those last two words, thank years of reading game critics) The art style initially came off a far too juvenile and it still could be a lot more intuned with surperior game styles but I love the beauty isolation feeling of the island that I compare both to game and show form of the walking dead. The purple pink sky with wispy clouds and new stars sold me to it. And while most of the characters are incredibly generic and conform to the style that games are so good at becoming their own from, I still adore the back camera following view of dark ponytail girl. It's almost always worth it with her. The new social dynamic of BR with squads makes me just want to talk to people in my own, won't see them after match, so be a different cool version of yourself way(think trying to sound like tracer, it kinda works?) But when you find some new acquaintances that join your party slate, Joking around and calling out targets and feeling the panic of getting absolutely Flanked far overcedes the actual game. Kills or time in doesn't even matter anymore. But that leads to the main mind hitter(I'm trying to not sound like Everybody), starting matches just to find someone with a mike, and if they do, finding out their a disappointing, It's cool dude, it's chill(i.e the majority?) guy is a lot worse than you could have been doing… Expand

    I absolutely love playing this game and have logged an insane amount of hours into it. It is fun to play alone but even greater when playing with friends. To be able to win you have to demonstrate cohesiveness and teamwork, which are very important skills to have. This game also has insane replay-ability with the all consuming desire for a "victory royale"!     I have been playing Fortnite Battle Royale since it came out. The game gives you a new take on the Battle Royale genre by introducing the new build mechanics. You want to get on top of the mountain, build yourself a stairway, are you getting shot at, build yourself some cover during the fight.     Unfortunately, there are flaws. The one problem I have with this game is that the combat part mostly relies on luck. Fortnite introduces RNG- a random number generator, it’s basically the chances of getting an item drop. You are not shooting and hitting your target because you are good, you just roughly aim towards the area of your enemy and you might hit him, but with my luck, I never hit. Fortunately, this can be countered by building, which is why I love this game.

There is a very low barrier to entry as well, considering the BR mode of Fortnite is free on almost all available platforms, so this game has excelled at drawing in such a large community. Hands-on, this game feels very smooth and runs with mind-blowing fluidity. Games can start and end all in the same minute, or you can chase a victory royal all the way into the 25th minute. The best part about a game such as this is the amount of work the developers, Epic Games, is constantly putting into it to make the best possible experience for the players. Every single day there is something new added or amended in the game, whether it be a new skin or dance added to the shop, or a giant low-gravity cube that puzzles everyone as it inches its way across the map. Whatever it is you are looking for in a battle royal game, Fortnite has it. The building mechanics come second to none and the game-play manages to always keep you engaged whether you're behind the controller, or behind a screen watching your favorite streamer. There is no doubt in my mind that Fortnite will be remembered forever in gaming history as one of the best games to ever enter the hands of us very lucky gamers.     vc passa a partida inteira procurando itens e correndo pelo mapa procurando alguém, ou vc elimina ou vc morre e basicamente é isso (como todos os outros do gênero.

    I personally don't like the game but others do wether it's the zombie mode, where you have to pay 39.99 or something like that to play a repetitive game. And the battle royale isn't much better, it's just a horrible copy-paste of PUBG. With cartoony graphics and the guns in the game are either completely over powered, or completely useless.     Fortnite ha mejorado mucho, la conexión, la construcción y los gráficos están mucho mejores, y la diversión abunda más.

    There's the robust campaign mode/missions with good voice acting, there's your own sandboxy base you can build, there's lots of heroes to customize and level up, weapons to build, loot to find, husks to kill etc. This is what you    There's so much stuff to do in this game that it's almost staggering.     The gameplay is very satisfying, from building structures, strategizing trap mazes for the zombie hordes to the tight 3rd person shooter controls.

    The biggest cons for the game at this point are that many of the systems and UI are quite confusing, and there isn't enough information in game to actually understand it properly. Much of the "pay to win" whining about this game has to do with players that do not understand the game design systems (not their fault AT ALL), or are looking to basically have beaten this entire game in the one week its been available.

    Another con is that there are not enough game modes available, though I'm pretty confident Epic is already working on this, and they have spent considerable time and effort constantly reaching out the community, explaining the road ahead for the game.

    Overall, this gamble of a video game (part shooter, part minecraft, part tower defense, part Diablo-esque gear progression) pays off. It is really fun. If you are skeptical, you don't have to worry about dropping any money as the game will be free to play in 2018. You should keep it on your radar though.    … Expand

    I have been playing it since Season 2. It was fun THEN. Season 3 people started to team up in solo instead of playing Duos or Squads, at the time it was just 2 people teaming up. Fast forward to today's Season 9 you ALWAYS have a minimum of 4 people teaming up in SOLO. In every single match solo, duos and squads you will ALWAYS have people teaming up, whether its 4 people working together in solo (most I encountered was 10 people thanks to the replays), 6 in Duos or 3 squads teaming up in squads. (YES! Even in squads people team up you read that right). So how are they punished you ask? Simple. They aren't. The report feature is a joke. I encountered the same teamers in solo 4 TIMES IN A ROW! reported the same person and nothing happened. So why does Epic do nothing? Maybe because the teamers have spent so much money on the game Epic will let it slide. The devs have made so much money off Fortnite, they simply don't care how toxic the game is getting. As long as it generates income and enough money for them why would they care? They would rather alienate the PC marketplace with exclusives. So to summarise my Fortnite: Free to play Battle Royale experience, the game WAS fun, It WAS amazing but over time toxic randoms and teamers have corrupted this experience. So what could be worse than a bunch of toxic people teaming up in solo, duos and squads in a free game you ask?
    Let me answer your question playing with toxic randoms in a PAID game. I'm talking about Save the World, the paid portion of Fortnite.

    SAVE THE WORLD [PAID]
    This is a paid experience. It has a both a narrative AND a meta narrative.

    Whats the narrative?
    (SPOILERS)
    Avoid getting scammed. EVERY SINGLE LOBBY - you will hear "Do you want to trade?" this is the main 60% of Save the World. NO ONE will EVER help you actually pass a mission. I had to do it solo. All in all the story is basically about getting scammed by real people for trading weapons. Then the scammer will say either "Noob" or they will immediately leave the match once they have your weapons. Don't bother reporting them, its the Fortnite experience.

    Whats the meta narrative?
    (SPOILERS)
    So what's the other 40% of Save the World?
    Listening to 20 - 30 year old MEN AND WOMEN (NOT boys and girls) convince 10 - 15 year old kids (you read that right. KIDS). to kill themselves, making them cry, bullying them, harrassing them and other nasty stuff. I reported the man and woman. That was over 7 months ago. Did Epic ban them? Nope. Epic can't hear anything under all that money they have from everyone. So you're wondering that was 7 months ago. What about today well it seems everyone now just asks to trade (to scam you) and leave.

    You're asking is that Save the World? Yes it is. It is what I experienced playing with randoms.
    Epic promised it would be free. Obviously It hasn't.
    Ohhh so you want to know what I learned from the actual Save the World mode during my solo games.
    It's about fighting monsters and defending a van. People only play it to scam others. Yes you earn some v-bucks in it. I can ONLY recommend Save the World to get a free battle pass in battle royale, but THAT IS IT! The actual experience in it is just as toxic as Battle Royale. Reporting players doesn't even work. Battle Royale is full of teamers, Save the World is filled with scammers and Creative is just meh!

    To summarise: The game was fun last year, but the toxic community have made this game unplayable. No punishment system, the report feature is a joke and Epic Games the developer gives 0 care about it. The game is a toxic mess.

The build mechanic continues to set it apart from all other battle royales on the market.     Fortnite is simply pure fun. The combination of a great setting, immersive gameplay, and a rewarding unlock system make this game very hard to put down. With the ability to listen and engage with fans better than most companies, its media team and developers however are the heart and strength of the game.

If you are looking for perfect groups all the time, like literally any other game, you will have to form your own from your friends list or meet good players in game. Personally I have only had a few bad pick up groups. If you're into speed runs, you will want to form your own group. On the pay model, yes there are loot boxes (llamas) you can buy to get a chance at premium cards, and that will be a part of all F2P models. After release there will undoubtedly be sales etc. and those will be the times to pick up the nice cards (one you have a good blueprint you can make unlimited weapons from it, the resources are fairly easy to farm at this point).… Expand

    Really fun game and for free too! Gameplay is exciting and skins and emotes are always interesting to see. However the fan base is ruining the game demanding new content meaning they have to delay bug fixes and add terrible content such as the guided missile and minigun.

    I haven't played the save the world mode and couldn't give a crap about it, i'm talking about battle royale here. The gameplay is solid, the guns work as intended for the most part and Epic keep working on new content, jumping works in an interesting way with you losing height each time and building spices up a relatively bland combat style. You land in from a flying bus and grab loot, run away from a storm and fight people to be the last one standing, simple enough concept and it works, so well in fact that the PUBG developers got scared by a good game and greedily tried to sue Epic.

    Community
    This is where the game i would say shoots itself in the dick, but it actually just grabs a razor blade covered chainsaw and a flamethrower and just goes ham on itself.
    The community is made of 5 year olds, which gets really annoying when they yell at you because you didn't save their annoying ass. The entire fanbase is mostly either retarded, has some mental problem, or are just unborn fetuses. Along with this there is a case of serious power creep, as the game got older the average player skill level went up massively, which means most new players will get absolutely destroyed by professionals and because their 5 they will likely just delete the game, its free after all. I feel Epic needs to implement a ranking system if they want to keep the dying game alive, put great players against only great players and let the newbies play against other newbies or really bad players.

    Graphics
    The developers were smart here, there game will look great 100 years from now because it isn't trying to be realistic, as a result the Epic don't have to spend any time improving the graphics, saving them money and time they could be using the bathe in $100 bills.

    Overall it was a great game before it was the biggest game out there, the community ruined it by being well, 5 year olds. If you want to get into it, i don't recommend it; everyone is good at the game now so you'll just fail. Unlike Rainbow Six Siege, losing isn't fun because you can only get better by getting better building or aim, while in Siege you can do a whole host of things to improve.    … Expand

    Save the world is quite fun for the start, but turns out to be way to grindy. Still, I like most of the maps and the atmosphere. The BR mode is either full of little kids, who play in the living room or have chickens in the background or completely sweats.

    Quick background on me the reviewer, I tend to like single player games that is heavy on narrative the most. I also play a lot of racing games and use to play multiplayer games in my high school days but now that it's hard for me and my friends to find a good time to link up so now it’s rarer for me to get into a multiplayer game. Up to try any genre of games and sometimes I find something new that I didn't think I'd like. I own a PC (built by me), Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, PS3, PS4, PS5, and a Switch. I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions.

    My children like it but I don't. You spend half an hour walking around looking for stuff only to get shot in the head by someone you don't even see. How can this be comparable to games such as counterstrike where the rounds are fast and furious and you never have to wait a long time before you're in the action?

    Could have been a decent game, but all the friendly firing online ruins the experience. As a game that is free to play it is ok, but would never have spent any money on it until Epic take its games more serious.

For starters where PUBG goes for the realistic mil-sim approach Fortnite goes for bright and colourful graphics. Instead of a military plane, in Fortnite we jump from a party bus. the premise is still the same though,up to 100 players are dropped into a map which is constantly shrinking due to the Blue Zone/Storm, with the goal of looting weapons and gear in order to become the last person or team left standing.

    At first glance you might be forgiven for thinking that Fortnite is a kids game and that would be a huge mistake. Whilst the game is massively popular with kids there's a lot more going on than just jumping around the map trying to shoot each other. Take the building mechanics for example. Building in Fortnite can be just as crucial a skill as shooting. Out building your foe can be the difference between an early return to the lobby or that much sought after Victory. It's frustrating to learn the art of building but it can't be overstated how rewarding it is when you manage to out-build someone, knowing that your skills were just better in that encounter. Building used in this way is pretty groundbreaking and sets Fortnite aside from its competitors. Building forts and trying to get the high ground can be important but if like me, you aren't very good at it then you can for the most part get by with just using simpler structures. It's clear though that to really become good at Fortnite then building is a skill worth learning.

    The game is in third person and whilst you do have an inventory system it's very simplified when compared to something like PUBG. It works well though and suits the pace of the game. you can quickly manage your weapons and consumables and each item is easy to identify.

    Battles with other players are very different to what i'm used to on PUBG. They can be chaotic and over very quickly where as in PUBG I've had battles which last for a good 5 minutes or longer. whilst Fortnite doesn't have the tension of PUBG it certainly doesn't lack in the fun and chaotic feeling. I love the loot system in Fortnite, no matter where you drop it is possible to get yourself reasonably well kitted out and get you in on the action or keep you alive long enough to get yourself better loot. Weapons come in a variety of rarities and these rarities can turn the tide of a battle.

    The progression system in Fortnite is really good, especially if you purchase the Battle Pass and is the area that PUBG fails miserably in perhaps the most. In Fortnight you have challenges to complete and levelling up your tiers provides you with fun rewards or XP boosts. Cosmetic DLC can be purchased from the store and there's none of the frankly pathetic Loot box system found in PUBG where you buy a key and end up with a billion red T-shirts. In Fortnite you visit the store, see what you want and buy it. Prices for Skins are a bit steep but you can earn Skins just by levelling up your tiers during a season and as it's a free to play game I guess we can't really say much about it.

    I think for me though the standout area where Fortnite absolutely trounces PUBG is in the way the game runs. Fortnite is so well optimised that its totally understandable to me now why so many players are leaving PUBG behind. Don't get me wrong i will still play PUBG just as much as I always have but one can't help but admire Fortnite for how smoothly it plays.    … Expand

    Fortnite started life as a PvE zombie/crafting/tower defence game, but it only got popular when the PvP Battle Royale mode was added in 2017, after PUBG had previously launched to great success. Fortnite BR is accused of being a PUBG ripoff, but differentiates itself from its rival in many significant ways.

    -Fortnite BR is free to play. Unlike other F2P games with predatory tactics, you have access to the whole game with no gun or game mode being locked behind a paywall. There are cosmetics to buy, but no loot boxes.
    -Graphics are simplistic and colorful, which means the game runs on many more machines than PUBG, and 60 fps is far easier to achieve.
    -The biggest gameplay differentiator is the building mechanic, with which you can traverse the map, shelter yourself from enemy fire, or outflank opponents.
    -The map is small enough that there is no "dead time" in the beginning of the matches. There is little need for vehicles to quickly reach the next zone.
    -There are no technical/netcode issues on Fortnite BR, so you won't experience lags and teleports like in PUBG, and cheaters are rare.
    -Last but not least, Epic regularly add new items, guns and time-limited modes to spice things up.

    All these features make for a fun arcade game that matches or even surpasses the popularity of games such as DotA and League of Legends.

    Lastly, upon launching the game, sometimes you get a tip that you can buy Vbucks ON THE TITLE SCREEN. That is the basis of why the game exists, a money sink to suck kids' parents' wallets dry.

The game has no identity of its own except for the camper-friendly building mechanics.     Fortnite is a good game to have fun if you play full squad with your friends. I did not like the creation mechanics to build walls. The graphics are pretty and you have a huge map to seek your enemies. It is a great option to play with your friends and have some fun.

The base building is simple and hopefully, they fix it where I can actually defend my base other than running out and killing. Now I love the idea that when you use a schematic then it doesn't go forever perfect for grinding that legendary weapon you just got. grinding isn't horrible and at least there's an attempt at giving V-Bucks from quests that you can save to get Loot Lamas for deals that come out every day, there's no "you can only get deals during holidays " I really don't know the developers intention but I hope they fix the game to make it less a cash and grab hopefully they make it easier to pull epics on silvers and legendaries on any type of lamas . Remember this game is bought to play early so who knows what they will do next I hope it's an ESO type deal. Hope this review helps people decide if the game is worth the buy!… Expand

You can also buy skins which costs money which looks awesome but is not required so the game is free(except for Save the World which costs money). Plus, it is coming to mobile devices so you dint need a console or pc anymore to play.
    But there are a few things I would like to be changed about the game. For instance, the level pairment of players needs to be changed. The noobs are playing with other players that play all day and all night that dominate other players. It is hard to compete with serious players(tryhards) and have fun.
    Overall I love this game and I would recomend it to anyone that likes third person shooters and likes the battle royale modes of games. I rate this game a 10/10 and I hope that this game continues to amaze me with new content.    … Expand

    Frotnite is an arcade shooter that is fun to play only with friends. It get really boring if you play alone or in a group of people that you dont know. People dont help you and most of the time they leave you to die. The guns are bad because of the bloom, shotguns do 9 damage to the head and the only working component is going to be nerfed (building). I hope that Fortnite gets better with time.

    This game is fun but I would say it's average at best. I hate micro-transaction and this game is pretty much the central point of it. People who pays will get all the good loot which is the most annoying part of this game.

Collecting new weapons and heroes always feels satisfying and gives the game it's charm. Objective game modes may be boring at first, but once the mission has started, it picks up. This mode isn't suitable for all people, as it may get boring after a little while, but in general, it's nice playing with friends and completing objectives, building defenses, and collecting many stuff. 7/10

    BR: This is where the game shines. BR takes a trend and redefines it by adding it's unique style to it and a BIG feature which makes it different than other BRs, building. It's very fun playing with games with friends, and it's that Epic is always balancing weapons and paying attention to the community. Although there is some balancing issues, there really aren't any game-breaking issues and is well optimized and stabilized. This game is a big symbol for the BR trend and has an active community and developing team. Not to mention the in-game events are jaw-dropping. 9/10    … Expand

    Despite its junior stylings and mountain of cosmetic items, Fortnite’s combat and construction fundamentals are strong enough to sustain weeks and months of play, and as it nears final release, it’s only going to get stronger.
