Once you hit a certain power level, Epic decides to take away all the fun by making it nigh impossible to increase your power level and progress the game without whipping out your wallet. The cash grab in this game is sneaky but it's there. And you will read lots of people saying it's not pay 2 win. They're right, its not payGameplay is solid. Was having lots of fun. Key word: WAS.     How it works is you need schematics to break down to level your gun, the only way to get schematics is through llamas (boxes), the only way to get llamas is through, you guessed it, the cash shop.

    Here's what happened to me. Once you are at a level (towards the end of the 2/4 zones they have available) where the husks are becoming bullet sponges and you are having hard times killing them due to enormous health pools and mob density, you will need to upgrade your hero, guns, survivors for stat increase, dps increase, and hp/resist. The only way to do so is by "retiring" heroes (you take a blue or epic hero and transfer that into a currency that allows you to get your next "star"), breaking down schematics, and retiring survivors. Once a hero, schematic or survivor is "retired", you lose it forever until you find it again. So that means, to level my hero, I have to retire other heroes at the same quality that I can only find in a cash grab box. You see ? Its a con. It's sneaky because you don't see it coming, you're having a blast then bam, you're screwed, you can't progress, you have to pay money or get lucky out of a **** grey mini llama (haven't seen one blue from one of these so my blue hero can't use those retirees).

    All of those things are only attainable through cash shop llamas (they have mini llama rewards but they only drop greys and RARELY green quality schematics or survivors, which are only used to upgrade grey or green quality schematics or survivors).

    Its what people call a "gotcha game", essentially it's one of those **** mobile games that are basically made to profit with no real passion or love for the fans. It's too bad because the core game, if it weren't a f2p p2w game, is ridiculously fun, but you can't enjoy it at a certain point, it turns into a job.

    If Epic Games doesn't fix this, this game will be forgotten sooner rather than later, trust me.    … Expand

Except here it's not cosmetics that drop from them, but real items. Items that can be trashed instantly or are the best item you will never replace. Or somewhere in between.

    I wouldn't say it's Pay-to-Win, but it's definitely a huge help to spend a lot of money. They're currently working on it, and to be fair to Epic, they're frequently pushing patches to fix a lot of annoying bugs. Or cool bugs that make some maps tolerable (because some map designs are horrible).

    The gameplay is extremely well done though and, in my opinion, more than makes up for a lot of shortcomings. Just not enough. Unless you're into crazy grindy games like me, skip this one for the foreseeable future.    … Expand

    Can't give this game higher because it does need some work and love from the developers and i am sure they will improve on the game. I would not reccomend buying this game atm. Wait a couple of weeks/months and then come back to this game and give it another look. Personally i have enjoyed this game so far tho.

    The Game is fun to play and amazing if you have a group of friends. Building forts is just straight up fun.

    The bad :
    Gameplay is a bit repetitive especially if you play it solo.
    Some loot and progress problems, not that bad as some people suggest but definitly needs some work.

    The gameplay consists of choosing missions based on your current level of progress, being spawned into a level with another three random players (or your friends if you're in a party) and working together to complete mission objectives. The missions are usually split into two halves: first looting, gathering and crafting whatever you can find in the level, followed by defending a base, resource or point of interest against waves of zombies (husks). The game makes for frantic fun, especially since the addition of epic mini bosses which really require a full team's efforts to tackle. Completing missions gains XP which can be used to upgrade heroes, survivors and weapons to further tackle the horde in later missions. I've got to say I was pleasantly surprised by the level of depth and detail they've put into the levelling system.

    The updates they've made to general gameplay over the past few months have been outstanding, and Epic seem to be constantly do their best to pay attention to feedback received in order to improve the status of the game. With this in mind, I'm confident the end product by time full release comes will be satisfying to most. I know others won't feel the same way, but I think they're being a bit overwhelmed given how popular the game has blown up in recent months.

    Now for a few negatives... Most of the beginner levels on the game can be completed solo or with a basic team of novice players, but as you progress further into the game that's where the issues start. Levels are swarmed with players who simply want to use the mission space to loot and gather as much resources as they can, and then leave them game without completing the mission objective, leaving you on your own to try and fight waves of enemies, usually resulting in absolute mission failure. This is incredibly frustrating as players don't get penalised for leaving games early, sure they won't get the mission XP but they still get to keep all loot and resources they've gathered!

    And then there's the leaches, low level players who purposely go into high level missions in the hope that the other players on the game will be skilled enough to carry them through, thus getting all the XP bonuses and extra loot. This is infuriating spawning into a Level 19+ mission and being surrounded by Level 5 players with no weapons or ammo to defend themselves whilst you waste every single resource you have on trying to defend the objective.

    Missions can also become quite boring and samey, especially given that it's not just your character you level up, but instead you have to level up fort survivors, defenders, weapons and traps, using as much XP as you can squeeze out to make it past another wave of Husks. Taking this into account does make the game at times feel like a total grind, especially since this is (yet another) game that utilised loot crates and in-game purchases to further your progress.

    The game also features the very popular PVP 'Battle Royale' game mode, which has really made waves over the past few months. This game mode features 100 people being parachuted into a map, having to loot resources and find weapons as quickly as possible. Last man standing wins! Tremendous fun at times, and is also free to download and pay without having to purchase the Founder's Pack for PVE.

    Overall I'm confident the game will progress towards full release in the coming months and really be a free game that gamers cherish for years to come. As a free game, the PVE and PVP game modes are absolutely fantastic for what they offer, but if you're considering paying out of pocket for the Limited Founders Pack, I wouldn't bother, you'll only get some shiny outfits and loot crates for your troubles. Stick with Standard Founders if you're desperate to play, or just wait until free release at some point in 2018!    … Expand

    At first I liked it but after a while it began to get really boring , I mean the idea is good , and its fun when you finished your base , but even the defending is boring
    The game is pretty beautiful tho , but you just can't keep playing this game if its so repetitive
    Next time better epic games

    and you can defend just using your base and relying on the material of your walls to hold up or you can hop right in and melee or shoot these zombies trying to destroy the item you’re protecting…
    this tower defending is thrilling at first…
    it’s fun to explore collect and craft new weapons…
    getting better chests based on you and your teams performance
    inside of these chests are xp chips, items, skill points, and llamas…
    llamas are also loot items that you break open for survivors, heroes, weapon schematics, and xp chips as well…
    these chips go into leveling your favorite heroes and survivors up that you assign to your squads and bases for support, as well as leveling up weapon schematics…
    you can also earn xp by retiring duplicates or weaker heroes and survivors as well as recycling unneeded weapons…
    and skill points obviously go into a skill tree…
    it’s fun getting all of this loot at first and the game gives it to you at a very generous pace.. Keeping the initial few hours with this game addictive...
    sadly the gameplay itself isn’t interesting enough to keep this great loot system intriguing for long…
    it’s the same thing over and over and over..
    the developers couldn’t even be bothered with giving you a change of scenery
    you’re either back at your base, in some random woods, or town that all look and play exactly the same…
    some just have more materials for bullets than others…
    it’s just the same repetitive boring grind of collect build defend as the game slowly introduces new enemies to you
    the game never makes you think of your surrounding or change your strategy…
    its repetitive…
    I made it half way through the game and this is when the game starts forcing you to replay missions multiple times to move forward and I just couldn’t do it anymore..
    It’s a shame because I did love my first initial hours with this game...
    it just doesn’t do enough to stay fun…
    it makes you impatient and starts to feel as though its matches drag on forever…
    while you won’t hate your time with fortine..
    As again I loved my first few hours
    I’d be surprised if it keeps you entertained longer than a weekend…

    Fun, beautiful and fluid, yet the game disappoints in many ways, the game does not give you many reasons to continue playing and becomes tiresome and repetitive

    Waited a very long time for this game to come out, and it's not great. The gameplay gets repetitive after about five minutes, but at least it has a nice art style. They could have knocked this out of the park, and with all of the development time, it seems like they would have.

Matches are much shorter than i thought, I thought they'd go on for hours but still, it's Caspian border sprinting over grassy hills times 10. When you're parachuting out the bus, with a dopey lame character rarely seen in games, you'll wonder(yes I'm borrowing this from that, Medal of Honor review) no, you'll realize your wasting your time on a level that hasn't been seen since a long, long, longer, time ago. Solo is the only way to maybe have one worthwhile kill, making you instered enough in the outcome, and I've seen some amazing battles that haven't been seen before in games. I'm proud of epic for turning their, company failure level flop, into something that is almost bigger than gears. But they sure did it in a shameless way. Shouldn't we rely on the makers that brought us the ultimate stuff to make the next evolution? In this case no. Why should we make a fuss about yet another post ME3 crate game(ok, 40 hours is evil) when we're seeing worse things, like the whole cosmetic items pull that is now on a much larger scale? Smashing jiggly bricks is a new mechanic that's on the level of some top shooting feedback. However, we're taught that fun but tedious moves give us xp or even small font size white text. Instead we really get nothing but having a supply of wood that will ether lead to a awsome new player created move of circle building", as i just made up(the name at least) or a control mishap of selecting the weapon you want but never get in time, or get hit the last fateful times when it's constructing in front of you. So all that(and when your in a squad they break brick for minutes at a time, in games, time is hyper useful) will probably lead to nothing. I love seeing the pro's (i,e the girl that killed you or the top 10, not some stupid e sporter or youtuber, ugh) use the build and shoot to masterfully show their personality though predetermined animations. It's like the final guy in search and destroy who place two claymores and do the yy tap thing after a kill. Quick building for cover while running away was something that showed me game mechanics can go farther and work. I don't like paragraphs. The little but important snap of seeing new animations, sounds, or textures is something that I've never seen before. Updating does show that we're getting the stick for playing a very early and reactive game. It depends how far it goes. If we see something totally superior to what we slogged through than I'll feel even more like that nearly 30 hours(wait, seriously, yeah i think it was like 20 something, that's absolutely ridiculous) was soul killing. But their also will be a little of I was important and the feeling of seeing a process never done by consoles and big names. Ever since skyrim and next gen, we've seen the focus go to a great wealth of content that just wouldn't have done before, but if you think about it, they definelty could have done way more worthwhile and not time disrespecting(think Gt freakin A, I did it cause there was nothing else and I always complete baby) content that might've made this incredibly disappointing half generation(I was really too idealistic) be composed of memorable moments(I can't think of any other way to put those last two words, thank years of reading game critics) The art style initially came off a far too juvenile and it still could be a lot more intuned with surperior game styles but I love the beauty isolation feeling of the island that I compare both to game and show form of the walking dead. The purple pink sky with wispy clouds and new stars sold me to it. And while most of the characters are incredibly generic and conform to the style that games are so good at becoming their own from, I still adore the back camera following view of dark ponytail girl. It's almost always worth it with her. The new social dynamic of BR with squads makes me just want to talk to people in my own, won't see them after match, so be a different cool version of yourself way(think trying to sound like tracer, it kinda works?) But when you find some new acquaintances that join your party slate, Joking around and calling out targets and feeling the panic of getting absolutely Flanked far overcedes the actual game. Kills or time in doesn't even matter anymore. But that leads to the main mind hitter(I'm trying to not sound like Everybody), starting matches just to find someone with a mike, and if they do, finding out their a disappointing, It's cool dude, it's chill(i.e the majority?) guy is a lot worse than you could have been doing… Expand

    Only played the main game a few times, nothing too special, just a stock standard 4-player PvE horde mode. Played the battle royale a fair bit. A very solid game in my opinion. The build mechanic continues to set it apart from all other battle royales on the market. Everything is well polished and the game is constantly updated with new content and very cool limited time events.     This average, run of the mill TPS shooter feels empty. There are some redeemable qualities that make the game special like the building mechanic, and its cartoony art style familiarize it with the juggernauts that are TF2 and Overwatch.     Really fun game and for free too! Gameplay is exciting and skins and emotes are always interesting to see. However the fan base is ruining the game demanding new content meaning they have to delay bug fixes and add terrible content such as the guided missile and minigun.

I would be marking like 90 if it was earlier but not because of something like no skill gap item or something, its just getting boring even though Im improving compare to season 2. I play games like Battlefield or Call of Duty and Fortnite isn't that bad for secondary game. No es excelente en ninguno de sus apartados, pero logra ser un producto más que aceptable en conjunto, sobretodo por lo entretenido que resulta y por la variedad de situaciones que pueden llegar a darse; noCrítica enfocada únicamente en su modo gratuito, Battle Royale. Es un third person shooter online con mecánicas de construcción en constante actualización y con una comunidad amplísima.     I haven't played the save the world mode and couldn't give a crap about it, i'm talking about battle royale here. The gameplay is solid, the guns work as intended for the most part and Epic keep working on new content, jumping works in an interesting way with you losing height each time and building spices up a relatively bland combat style. You land in from a flying bus and grab loot, run away from a storm and fight people to be the last one standing, simple enough concept and it works, so well in fact that the PUBG developers got scared by a good game and greedily tried to sue Epic.

    Community
    This is where the game i would say shoots itself in the dick, but it actually just grabs a razor blade covered chainsaw and a flamethrower and just goes ham on itself.
    The community is made of 5 year olds, which gets really annoying when they yell at you because you didn't save their annoying ass. The entire fanbase is mostly either retarded, has some mental problem, or are just unborn fetuses. Along with this there is a case of serious power creep, as the game got older the average player skill level went up massively, which means most new players will get absolutely destroyed by professionals and because their 5 they will likely just delete the game, its free after all. I feel Epic needs to implement a ranking system if they want to keep the dying game alive, put great players against only great players and let the newbies play against other newbies or really bad players.

    Graphics
    The developers were smart here, there game will look great 100 years from now because it isn't trying to be realistic, as a result the Epic don't have to spend any time improving the graphics, saving them money and time they could be using the bathe in $100 bills.

    Overall it was a great game before it was the biggest game out there, the community ruined it by being well, 5 year olds. If you want to get into it, i don't recommend it; everyone is good at the game now so you'll just fail. Unlike Rainbow Six Siege, losing isn't fun because you can only get better by getting better building or aim, while in Siege you can do a whole host of things to improve.    … Expand

    Save the world is quite fun for the start, but turns out to be way to grindy. Still, I like most of the maps and the atmosphere. The BR mode is either full of little kids, who play in the living room or have chickens in the background or completely sweats.

    My children like it but I don't. You spend half an hour walking around looking for stuff only to get shot in the head by someone you don't even see. How can this be comparable to games such as counterstrike where the rounds are fast and furious and you never have to wait a long time before you're in the action?

    Fortnite is a good game to have fun if you play full squad with your friends. I did not like the creation mechanics to build walls. The graphics are pretty and you have a huge map to seek your enemies. It is a great option to play with your friends and have some fun.

    Ok, this game isn't perfect neither is any game during access. now from what I have seen from the game is Great, I have only played for about 10 hours so I have not experienced the "Cash and Grab" Ideal but if you are looking for a game that is fun to play and don't care too much about getting mythic leads and legendary weapons Once in a while then buy it ! The gameplay is solid and thereOk, this game isn't perfect neither is any game during access. now from what I have seen from the game is Great, I have only played for about 10 hours so I have not experienced the "Cash and Grab" Ideal but if you are looking for a game that is fun to play and don't care too much about getting mythic leads and legendary weapons Once in a while then buy it ! The gameplay is solid and there is always something to do you can grind resources find loot or just build a base . The base building is simple and hopefully, they fix it where I can actually defend my base other than running out and killing. Now I love the idea that when you use a schematic then it doesn't go forever perfect for grinding that legendary weapon you just got. grinding isn't horrible and at least there's an attempt at giving V-Bucks from quests that you can save to get Loot Lamas for deals that come out every day, there's no "you can only get deals during holidays " I really don't know the developers intention but I hope they fix the game to make it less a cash and grab hopefully they make it easier to pull epics on silvers and legendaries on any type of lamas . Remember this game is bought to play early so who knows what they will do next I hope it's an ESO type deal. Hope this review helps people decide if the game is worth the buy!… Expand

    This game is fun but I would say it's average at best. I hate micro-transaction and this game is pretty much the central point of it. People who pays will get all the good loot which is the most annoying part of this game.

The graphics are impressive, the gameplay is mediocre (it's too easy to miss) and I kind of feel like there should be a story mode here, but there isn't.     They happily add hundreds of new skins that cost 10 to 15 dollars each and are so flashy my ps4 gets hot, if things werent so insanely overpriced it would almost be a good game.

    Game is fun at times. A lot of people play the game so the chances you outplay at least 1 person are good. Unfortunately a lot of people are very good at this game too and for a survival game you will be surprised how many are willing to die just to kill you.

    Well this is definitely a unique concept for its time, however it kinda got boring and yeah also the gun-play feels nice and the building is fun same for save the world and creative but it is very hard to get into if you are new because you will be steamrolled. it is good overall though.

    Played in PVE and PVP since season 3. I can say that, before the game took a lot of time and really liked it. Over time, Epic Games added a lot of new content, as well as the most important game mechanics: construction. Now Fortnite is difficult to play because there are so many eSports players.     La modalità zombie è carina, però le missioni sono ripetitive e i compagni di squadra vogliono solo fare scambi (per poi truffarti).
    La modalità Battle Royale invece ha molto potenziale e la preferisco alla modalità zombie, però per colpa delle scelte della community (oggettivamente sbagliate e che sono state ascoltate dalla Epic) si è rovinato

    This game is... unusual. I've never really known something like this existed until I played it. The game was good but the "spark" you get from playing burns over time. I would not recommend this as it can be a trap for some, they can get easily addicted depending on who they are.

    Despite the constant annoying 7 year olds ruining an otherwise decent game fortnite isn’t terrible... It’s just a free battle royale and that’s it. There’s nothing phenomenal about the game other than how fun it WAS once upon a time it’s a fun but repetitive battle royale and really nothing else

    Não me atraiu muito sinceramente, o tiroteio que deveria ser frenético logo se transforma em uma batalha de construção e basicamente quem tiver mais material ganha, mas a ideia a boa, e os gráficos são divertidos.

    If not for the cringiness factor and that they're constantly trying to sell you stuff, the game itself is good. It's flashy and fun, and there's so many ways to play with your own style. Many different guns, and I like that the map changes so that it doesn't get boring.

    save the world is a pretty empty game, battle royale is definitely the highlight mode which used to be an insanely fun and addicting shooter until a bunch of 8 year old sweats learned how to build the Eiffel tower in 3 seconds and the developers added tanks and flying spaceships or whatever the hell is in Fortnite nowadays

    I've spent amazing moments with friends in this game for years, and I can fully recommend it for a casual experience thanks to the no-build mode. However, the FPS rate is not able to stay stable at 60, dropping to 30 at its worst, so if you want to play competitively, any OLD-GEN console is not worth it.

The gimmicks of the different game modes wear off though once you realise that they are all basically the same with some minor differences.     It's way harder on the Ps4 than the Switch because you have to scroll using L1 and R1 and then press R2 to just build stairs meanwhile on the switch you just have to press ZR.
