    This game has Potential but it is not used due to ignorant developers. The main parte of the game is grinding, but this grinding doesn't lead to any schematics. Husks or zombies dont drop anything. Only way to get forward in this game is by farming llamas. I bought the deluxe founders pack and opened around 150 llamas so far. Not one Single legendary hero    Short: Save your money!

    I can't recommend this game and the behavior of the developers is forcing me to write my first review. I used the feedback button many times, I adressed directly on twitter, I wrote on Facebook and I wrote an email to the supporters. But they just don't care. All they want to hear are positive news about their game. There is no will in improving or making better.

    I bought the Founders Edition deluxe, with a copy for my daughter. So I spent 90 € on this game. And first, especially if you see videos everything is so exciting and new. The gameplay is smooth, the characters are fine, the loot is overwhelming (at first).

    But if you are into the game for a few hours, you recognize it is a big cash maschine. The only way to loot and lvl your gear up is through llamas. And the normal llamas, as well as the rare llamas are containing a lot of trash.

    I opened, thanks to the Founders deluxe editions hundres of llamas. So far not one single legendary character or weapon. Just normal stuff.

    The biggest problem of this game is, that there is no sense in doing all that. The zombies don't drop loot. The treasures in the world are only for the next games, no chance to find any schematics. You do the same over and over again for nothing. This game is, with this state of play, a total waste of time and money.

    They just want, you put more and more money into that game for a really boring early access. I played hundreds of games in my life. But this game so far is the first game I regret spending money on.

    The behavior and the goals of the developers are really something you should be aware of!    … Expand

    10/10 if you are looking to spend 40-60$ for the game and then $100 a week.
    I assume this will be f2p come January. This game literally revolves around buying in game loot packs.

    You'd have to have been living under a rock for the last year or so to have not heard about Fortnite but, in case you haven't, it helped popularise what's become known as "battle royale". Basically this means that 100 players start and the last person standing wins.

    Seeing as it was so popular, and is available for free if you ignore the micro-transactions, I decided to give it a try but I came away totally unimpressed. The gunplay itself is no more the average and a far cry from the best in the genre (Call of Duty, Battlefield, Titanfall etc) and in half the games I played I spent more time wandering around looking for people than actual engaging in any sort of firefight.

    It's free so you can check it out for yourself at no cost but as far as I'm concerned there are far better FPS games available.    … Expand

Heck, it's the only time they respond to tickets players issue, is if there is money involved with it. If you want a good game, don't look here. The only people who will defend this game are young kids and streamers, because much like the devs, streamers will do anything for money.     While Save the World is a lot of fun, Battle Royale is the main thing about the game and the fact is that you are essentially wasting your time playing this game, wasting your life! Save the world is the only thing that is enjoyable in this game, also its a rip-off of PUBG and The Japanese book of the same name

    I feel like Fortnite does not deserve as much popularity as it has right now simply because it's just so lacking for me.

There is also no such thing as Training mode or something like that which further dooms anyone who has never played a shooter in their life (or some people at least) and really only applying to those who have played BO3 or some other shooters. This also means that if you feel like it's too much of a hassle trying to learn how to get the best headshots or the best IG plays then it's practically over, since Fortnite's main (and only) appeal is the game play. For instance, I can not like the game play of Persona 5, but I can have the story, characters, and lore of each Persona to enjoy, Fortnite is the opposite of that, only having game play as its excelling trait (unless making OCs of Fortnite skins is your thing), which makes it a bit more niche in my opinion.

    As for it being "P2W", I didn't find it an issue, as everything appeared to be just cosmetic, which to me seemed to be one of the few saving graces with this game, the other ones being frequent updates and game modes.

    Fortnite is not a bad game, it's a bad game to me, and to other people probably for different reasons.
    Also this is not really meant to be a review to help people consider buying the game, this is just my irrelevant opinion that will be overruled by the many people that think Fortnite is 'the best game ever'.    … Expand

    I am slowly quitting this game. I have a lot of friends who still play therefore, I still play from time to time. My prediction is that Fortnite will go out in popularity just as fast as it came in. The problem with the game is that Epic doesn't want to scare away new players because they need new players to stick around and buy some skins, harvesting tools and new dance moves. The problem with the game is that Epic doesn't want to scare away new players because they need new players to stick around and buy some skins, harvesting tools and new dance moves. So they keep the new players around by introducing massive amounts of luck, via randomness, into the game. Here are just a few examples:

    1. Shotgun blast radius is overly large allowing players who aren't good shots to "pray and spray" and have a good chance at winning.

    2. Shotgun damage is obscenely unbalanced. The pellets can sometimes miss and do only 9 points of damage or sometimes land a direct hit and do over 200 points of damage. So even if you are full health and full shield you can die immediately by a one shot from a shotgun. Why even have shields in the game if you can be dropped to zero health with one shot even though you are fully shielded and at 100 health? Epic needs to bring consistency to the shotgun by making the damage more reasonable in the 40 to 80 range. They can still have some space for randomness but 9 damage is dumb and 200+ damage is really dumb.

    3. AR bloom is the worst I've seen in any game. You can have your sights lined up perfectly and not hit anything. Again, Epic is catering to the new player here because if the AR bloom were more realistic skilled players would be winning more battles consistently.

    4. RPG "splash" damage works similar to the shotgun where sometimes the splash will only do a bit of damage and other times it will one shot an opponent. Again, the RPG is one of the easiest weapons in the game to utilize which makes it a perfect weapon for new players to take out a skilled player via luck. The blast radius should be reduced and the damage should be more consistent.

    5. SMG's and pistols need to be buffed. Epic buffed SMG's during the patch prior to this last one and the SMG felt viable as a weapon for the first time. Then after this most recent patch the SMG feels extremely weak again and unusable. When you get into a close quarters battle and you are holding a blue or purple SMG or pistol and your opponent is rocking a shotgun of any color you are going to lose 9 times out of 10 even if you land all your shots with the SMG or pistol because of the ease of use of the shotgun (large blast radius) and the massive amount of damage you can do with a shotgun with one shot (upwards 200+). Stop bringing more weapons into the game Epic before you balance the weapons you already have.

    6. You can't shoot through leaves on trees nor can you build through wooden guard rails. The geniuses at Epic have made it so that you can't shoot through tiny leaves that are hanging down even when it's literally one single leaf. Epic came out with a patch that made it so that whenever you build your build will go through trees, structures, dumpsters and other objects but for some reason if you try to build over a wooden guard rail it won't let you. And there are a lot of wooden guardrails in the game. This has gotten me killed countless times.

    7. Bugs, errors, glitches and bad servers. Epic has no problem coming out with a new skin every other day for you to spend money on but for some reason it takes them months to fix bugs, errors, glitches and server lag that greatly affect the playability of the game. Epic is putting the cart before the horse and their sales will drop dramatically because of their inability to keep Fortnite running in optimal shape. When their servers were down for the entire day last week they lost millions.    … Expand

    Why the game is bad... It's a micro transaction game... No split screen... No campaign mode... It's a online only multiplayer game of random craziness that takes next to no skill that's full of random luck based elements... The whole battle royal thing is popular now which is silly since that sort of a thing has been around since about 30 years ago but whatever...

    This is not a good thing that games like this are popular. They could be so much better. Sad also that epic games has made great games like gears of war 1-3 but now this is where they are at...     It's nothing more than a rip-off of other Battle Royale games. The only new thing Fortnite does, is adding a new layer of more intense, unrealistic gameplay. The game offers its own cartoony style, which looks incredibly cool, but behind its joyful and friendly interface, a huge cashmachine begs for your money. I wish they just asked fourty dollars for this game and left their shop-system out.

    Updates
    de maker van deze game is Epic Games. Epic Games brengt elke week updates uit voor de game Fortnite. Bij deze updates passen ze een aantal dingen aan bijvoorbeeld de map(het speelgebied),nieuwe dingen(zoals wapens en granaten)of ze maken een update waarmee een wapen sterker of slechter wordt of ze juist een wapen weg halen uit de game. Deze updates worden dus elke week uitgebracht dat is erg snel, dit zorgt ervoor dat de game vernieuwend is en leuk blijft. Deze updates worden dus snel uitgebracht maar is het niet te snel doordat het zo snel wordt gedaan ontbreken er soms veel dingen bij updates die voorkomen zouden kunnen worden door simpelweg langer over een update te doen. Ik vindt dus dat een update in een week leuk is maar niet altijd even handig.
    De prijs
    Fortnite Battle Royale is een gratis game. Je kan in de game wel skins/outfits/gliders/pickaxes/emotes/een battlepas kopen voor v-bucks. V-bucks zijn de munteenheid in Fortnite waarmee je dus dingen kan kopen. Omgerekend zijn 1000 v-bucks 10 euro deze v-bucks kan je in fortnite bij de shop kopen.De dingen die je koopt in de shop kun je gebruiken in potjes die je speelt,dit geeft je overigens geen voordeel op de andere spelers.
    Dit vindt ik een heel leuk concept want zo kun je leuke dingen krijgen in de game maar als je geen geld wil besteden aan deze game kan je ook gewoon spelen zonder dat je gelijk een nadeel hebt in de game.
    Al met al is Fortnite dus een leuke game die heel vernieuwend is en vaak vernieuwd wordt en het daardoor voor veel mensen leuk blijft om te spelen. Mijn tip is dus om deze game zeker te gaan spelen want het is ook nog eens gratis.    … Expand

The only reason Fortnite got as big as it is, is because of all the 12 year old children out there who can't afford to spend $60 on a triple a game like God of War, Horizon, Shadow of War etc. If this game was $60 it would of died shortly after release.     This game is trash, my pump does 9 damage. there's only 1 map, boring gameplay. You run around for 50 years and then you fight for 2 minutes and you die.

But it gets terribly repetitive, even more so if you're constantly running into people with assault weapons. And there being only 1 map does not help the repetitive nature of this game.

    This game is built to be grindy, as expected from a free-to-play title, but what bothers me most is the battle pass that's implemented. It asks for $10 per season, and with it, you can earn outfits, gliders, cosmetic goodies and emotes. So, the game rewards you for playing, if you pay for this subscription. Ludicrous.

    I cannot with good conscience recommend this game, unless you enjoy the challenge of trying to be the last one (or last squad) standing. The way the Battle Pass is implemented, as well as PvE still requiring a payment, this game just feels like a repetitive, grindy, incomplete project. Cryptic storytelling of lore aside, it's a game I don't feel worth playing. Save your time and money.    … Expand

Currently it's season 5 and the meta is, who can shoot their smg faster, shotguns are irreverent unless your aim is impeccable, since most of us are not amazing and simply play for fun, shotguns are not even considered when choosing what gun to use, if    *For battle royal*

    Cross platform, console at a disadvantage vs those pc users. I understand allowing to have same account across all platforms but allowing them to play with each other is stupid of fartnite. Played on both and PC with mouse and keyboard have a huge advantage. A lot easier to build, aim, shoot. They say you don't play with pc players unless you plug in mouse and keyboard in the ps4 or xbox.Cross platform, console at a disadvantage vs those pc users.     This game is a great paced game where it uses building as a skill gap. Although over time, the developers have reduced skill gaps, making it favorable to new players. I don't respect the developers doing this because all of the experienced players have been left in the dirt. This game was good but the developers keep adding unnecessary additions to the game.

    The game is a pay to win disaster. Even for a cashgrab game, Fortnite's system is excessive. First, you buy the game. Then, to unlock different heroes, you have to buy loot crates that might have the hero (but probably just contain junk). And it isn't just heroes: all progress is locked behind the loot crates.

    This is the kind of game that makes me wonder if I should give up gaming as a hobby.

    I would not wish this game on anyone even as a punishment. Pay for progression, which is still RNG. Abysmal accuracy on weapons takes any semblance of skill out of combat. Melee weapons are all far too weak to do any damage and oddly have tiny hitboxes.

The moment you turn the game on and see some form of rarity system to your weapons or in this case everything you know your going to be doing the same thing over and over. This game is no exception and as a matter of fact it really amplifies this aspect. Games like Borderlands, World of Warcraft, and Diablo have done this in the past successfully, but how many times are we going to see this. Thinking about how games like Diablo and such have done it better I believe it boils down to when they did it, it didn’t feel so cheap. When you can just pay for your lamas to get different rarity of items, what makes getting different items and rarity unique. Other games you have to grind, but when you finally get what you want the pay off feels a lot more a rewarding. When you add a loot crate system with pay to win then you become just as bad, if not worse, as companies like EA or Bungie. Sure you can grind missions and get your own lamas to unlock different characters and weapons, but why does it matter. You can do the same missions over and over to try to get better stuff and make your character better or you can just buy lamas. There’s no end to the game and there looks to be no completion anytime soon, all the missions range from building and defending to building and defending, the rarity of items don’t make that much of a difference and the gaming environment is toxic. Almost all the missions can be done with leveled up ranged weapon, melee weapon and a trap. If you can get the basics of the game it doesn’t matter what ranged, melee, or trap you use. Going back to the toxic environment, I can’t even load up the game without first seeing that a person is a scammer or how people want to trade just to comeback and complain about being scammed. Trading in this game is useless and I truly don’t understand why people are trading to begin with. You want stuff, go get it yourself. You can literally jump into a game and get almost anything you need from searching the map. I guess I wouldn’t be so bitter if I wasn’t exposed to whining all the time and for the fact that you can choose any map and mission you want to get what you need. If your not being annoyed by the trading environment then get ready because you get to experience a whole range of crappy teammates. Crappy teammates can range from the person that joins your game just to hide somewhere and get your teams rewards, people trying to trap you to trade with you or constantly harass you to trade with them or give them free stuff, and people who join to get what they want and then just abandon the match. Let's talk about pvp for a second. Now we all know by now that Battle Royal’s are the big thing and they will be for the next year most part, but what makes this game stand out is the building aspect. Ok, cool, it’s still a Battle Royal. There is no method to the madness when it comes to this type of gameplay and that can be quite exhausting as well. There is a charming aspect at first trying to be the best, but there are so many things that can come up that cause you to die that it really is just a gamble everytime you jump into the game. You can learn from your mistakes and get practice to get better, but I have got into plenty of fights and landed shots just to see the person was barely unscathed. I really wonder about the mechanics of the pvp when that happens. I’ve seen youtube videos of people laying into other players that have no shield and still get killed. You grab a legendary thinking it’s going to make the difference just to be killed by a random with a gray tactical or green pump. You turn a corner to get one shot knowing that if you tried that you would be in a fight for your life. I would like to admit that the building aspect brings out a chess esce feel to the match when it comes down to it, but there are so many negative qualities to the combat that it almost seems like a wool over the eyes to make it seem like it’s purely skill. All this is blanketed by the fact that if you are somewhat good at pvp each match can take up to 20 minutes just to get killed.     Honestly pay to win. I myself have not played the save the world PvE game mode, but I have spent countless hours and cash on the PvP game mode. Whenever I play with my friends and we spot some other players, my friends say things along the lines of "Oh he's a John Wick he's good", or, "Oh a default easy kill". That is one of the many flaws of this game. The reason this game is not as goodHonestly pay to win. Getting in fights whether it be a building fight, or just a gun fight is fun, but just running around and looting for 10 minutes is not fun, it is boring. It does knock PUBG out of the competition though, with a smaller map and better chances to run into people, but unless you drop at a named location, you won't run into somebody for at least 20 minutes, or until endgame. I started playing this game around the beginning of season 3, and fell in love when I played my first LTM, five teams of twenty. Unfortunately, it started going downhill from there. I was still hooked on this game in season three, spending hundreds of dollars, but the day season 4 came out, was when my love for Fortnite: Battle Royale died. It seemed like they were just pleasing the younger crowd, what with the garbage emotes like Orange Justice and Hype, but that was the least of my problems. Season 4 was when Fortnite, for me, peaked in popularity. I still enjoyed playing the game, but just getting onto social media accounts like Instagram, twitter, etc. and seeing Fortnite videos plastered all over the place irked me. There was that one faZe tfue clip where he built that insane 1x1 base in like one second with a jet pack. Sure, it was cool the first time I saw it, but I kept getting on the search page of Instagram, and I saw that clip at least 45 times after that, and it got really annoying. Fortnite is one of the games that I think the community, and the developing company kills it. Epic games updates Fortnite weakly, which is actually not allowed. A company cannot update a game that frequently, but since Fortnite has the 'beta' label, they can, but now they are updating too much. What, with the material, and lama changes. The stupid items like the thermal scoped assault rifle, shopping cart, and stink bomb. I honestly think i'm being generous giving Fortnite for the PS4 a 4. Maybe if I get save the world, my opinion would change, but the battle royale mode makes me want to delete the app entirely… Expand

    Also i hear opening 150 llamas is crap. So again if you buy the deluxe edition it is probably rare to get great ones. So again money grabing. And yet you have to buy game (or even edition) to get llamas, oh and you get it by cash shopping.

    Just to say it will be free for 2018 (The Main Game). Its cash grab because when people buy a game and then after a second,hour or min it becomes f2p abd they will feel scammed.

    I do like idea what they are doing but the thing what they are doing with people is just unacceptable.
    I don't say dev and publishers are the worst. Belive me EA did alot of worse.
    Edit: As of it i found that game can be glitchy (or some thing that doesnt even explain) and not allow you change by pressing r1 or l1 gj Epic Games. You dont even explain what it does.    … Expand

    Graphics: Subpar at best. Character polygons are CLEARLY visible, and graphical glitches occur often. That said, it is fairly nice looking of a game.

    Micro Transactions: Tis a sad day in gaming where we must deal with micro transactions. It's there, and they suck.... highly overpriced skins that give disadvantages.

    Let me say this: I do NOT play PUBG and i'm NOT just a buttsore noob. I've played a coupled hundred match and won a decent amount.

    Verdict: 2/10

    I'm going to be honest right out of the gate, Fortnite does not have a sandbox or endless horde mode available, something I specifically bought the game for. Any thoughts of having a game similar to State of Decay, 7 Days to Die, or even Minecraft are not going to happen. How this game works is that you play missions with your friends. These missions are for the most part the same (go to/find a point or person, turn it on/speak to them, defend point/person for 2 waves of enemies, victory.) The game is built around a free to play model, which means there are going to be getting numerous loot boxes filled with obscure BS that will not aid you in the slightest. Ammo and resources carry over to other missions so having supplies to build forts and defenses are never a problem, which is a plus. The issue is that the resources for bullets are not in every map, which means in some cases if you run out of ammo, you will not get any new ammo for the remainder of the mission, sometimes even the next few missions. The game is pretty and can be fun with friends, however the fun itself is not created by the game, but rather the friends. Because of its rather shallow mission variations, the game gets old very quickly and can lose luster almost immediately. The game does have some pretty detailed skill and research trees though. Customization is also pretty deep in the game, as skins for characters do in fact change the load out abilities and stats of the characters on top of the starting stats from the different characters. This added with the use of class creation by using survivors you have (who all have different bonuses to add) to create a customized class bonus, on top of the skill and research tree means that almost every character will be different. Building is also not that difficult to figure out, and once you get the hang of the buttons, you can easily build a base with little to no hassle.

    Overall the game has a lot of potential, but as I've said in the beginning, this game is marketed and looked at with the notion of it being a sandbox survival game when it is not. As someone who bought this game for a sandbox or endless horde mode to play with friends only to find it does not exist, I must say I am disappointed in this title and until such a mode is added, I will continue to be disappointed.

    P.S. the buildings you create do not transfer from mission to mission, so if you used resources and built an awesome base of operations for a mission, you just wasted your supplies on something that will be erased upon completion anyway.    … Expand

Early game is horrible, you can land 90% of your shots with the crap weapon you find and then someone in the same area only hits you twice (30% of their shots) but got a better weapon - game over. After 3 games this was no longer an issue and I won my first solo, however it makes the game horrible for people who arent used to TPS/FPS games. 6 years of development for a game of chance, I only downloaded the game because it was from EPIC and the nostalgia of the Unreal franchise...     Many thanks, Epic Games for full keyboard and mouse support on PlayStation 4. I'm not talking about emulation like Hori and etc. I mean full support. Just connect the keyboard + mouse to the PS4 and get a huge advantage in building and switching weapons. By these actions, you killed the competitive moments

    vc passa a partida inteira procurando itens e correndo pelo mapa procurando alguém, ou vc elimina ou vc morre e basicamente é isso (como todos os outros do gênero.

    I personally don't like the game but others do wether it's the zombie mode, where you have to pay 39.99 or something like that to play a repetitive game. And the battle royale isn't much better, it's just a horrible copy-paste of PUBG. With cartoony graphics and the guns in the game are either completely over powered, or completely useless.     Despite its junior stylings and mountain of cosmetic items, Fortnite’s combat and construction fundamentals are strong enough to sustain weeks and months of play, and as it nears final release, it’s only going to get stronger.
