    ive been playing farcry since farcry 1 on a geforce mx 440 to a 2080ti.
    farcry 1,3,4( excluding africa) were the best . 5 and ND has these problems which need to be addressed for the fans to stay loyal.
    -weapon system and unable to customize it - upgrading the base (base weapons attack would have been good) considering upgrading is an option - the story Farcry 4 was the pinnacle in    ive been playing farcry since farcry 1 on a geforce mx 440 to a 2080ti.

    Story - 1/10- There really isn't a story, but what little there is lacks pretty much anything of interest. The twins are boring as can be, have no character, and are not believable in their positions as leaders.

    Gameplay - 8/10- Still solid gameplay from far cry. You blow things up, you kill people, animals, and even blow yourself up plenty of times. It is fun to do things your own way    Story - 1/10- There really isn't a story, but what little there is lacks pretty much anything of interest.     Gameplay - 8/10- Still solid gameplay from far cry. You blow things up, you kill people, animals, and even blow yourself up plenty of times. It is fun to do things your own way and to change situations based on your arsenal of choice. Guns are very similar to Far Cry 5, but there is a slight RPG twist on things. It is very minimal, but means you do have to get better weapons if you want to kill harder enemies or those pesky mutant animals.

    Overall- 6/10 If you like far cry games you will like this short experience, but don't expect to get much of a lasting impression out of it. This is easily missed though and you wont lose a thing from not playing it. There are a lot of games out there that are better than this and worth your time. If you can get it for free or rent it or something, then you can beat it in a breeze and move on to another game.    … Expand

    It’s not the worst game out there but a “Farcry” from the best.
    I’m just frustrated about the price of the game compared to what you’re actually getting.
    I won’t be sticking around for any DLC or updates they attempt to pedal. NEGATIVES - No Weapon/Vehicle Customisation - Very Short Campaign - 99% recycled NPC’s, animations, locations, animals etc - Smaller/Reduced Map Size -    It’s not the worst game out there but a “Farcry” from the best.
    I’m just frustrated about the price of the game compared to what you’re actually getting.

    I won’t be sticking around for any DLC or updates they attempt to pedal.

    NEGATIVES
    - No Weapon/Vehicle Customisation

    I don't understand why this game is getting so much hate and so many negative reviews. It is really good. I enjoyed this game from start to finish. There are flaws, sure, but it is a great experience.

    End of this generation consoles life span and Farcry as stale as a 6 year old cracker. Time too take what's best from this series and create a new IP. Even the name of the game leaves my palette dry... 9.99 price tag about right just to get it in and out of the way...

    here is an interesting setting of charismatic chief villains in the game and, in general, this is the good old far cry
    minuses
    1 in the game about the cheerful apocalypse could add more insane weapons
    2 Mickey and Lou appear too little for the whole game (as in far cry 3)
    overall the game is not bad

    While I get people saying this is DLC, I would had preferred if they took a bit more time made the map larger and more weapon customization. This game is still fun and I still enjoy it. I have played a lot worse games and still really like this game. Just I wanted more and would had been happier with more weapon customizing. I would had liked to seen more perks.     Far Cry 5 was a fun game to play and New Dawn continues the fun after the apocalyptic ending of Far Cry 5.

    If you don't like some rpg elements (enemies bullet sponges) then this game is not for you.
    Some say this is sjw game as there are two black women in the cover, guess they never played the game as they are the antagonists of the game and you need to kill them. When a game is this good, more can never be enough. What could easily be shunned as a re-skinned Far Cry 5, has evolved into one of the most addictive Far Cry experiences since Primal (you can read my review of that game here)It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day. It’s another Far Cry game…the big question on my lips was do we really REALLY need another one? Fortunately the answer is YES! When a game is this good, more can never be enough. What could easily be shunned as a re-skinned Far Cry 5, has evolved into one of the most addictive Far Cry experiences since Primal (you can read my review of that game here)

    The apocalypse has happened and seventeen years later vegetation and animal life has taken over, but yet again a tyrannical ruler…well twins in this case is trying to control the world and its resources. The game serves as a continuation of Far Cry 5 and while does have the same map, the experiences and exploration are much more readily available in this iteration providing a Far Cry experience worth sinking your teeth into.

    Part of what made this game so engaging was the ability to craft and upgrade weapons, bases and items. By far the best weapon is the saw launcher that cuts right through enemies and also rebounds off surfaces for multiple kills. It is the most bloody and satisfying way to get through areas infested with enemies. The usual suspects of guns and bow and arrows do fill out the roster, it isn’t anything that you haven’t seen before but unlocking the level 2 and 3 items is great motivation to keep playing.

    The story line of your character being the “chosen one” who can eat fruit from Joseph’s tree, survive and kill a bear with a few punches does seem a bit out there for this title, when the Highway men announce their arrival with fireworks and an endless onslaught of attacks it does bring it back down to ridiculous enjoyment. This game seems to take itself a lot less seriously than the previous titles and does so in an incredibly entertaining way.

    Exploration is encouraged in the game and the main story missions never interfere if you don’t want to play them immediately. The game starts off in the bottom corner of the map and gradually reveals itself depending on which missions you play and who you recruit to your base. If you want to go and spend all day and night fishing and hunting animals you can, there is no forced play through that makes the game feel almost sand box like in some elements. Speaking of animals they are actually pretty entertaining in this game. You can be ambushed by the Highwaymen, struggling to stay alive and in runs a bear who will happily start taking them out and chase them away. You then have the option to pursue them and snag some sweet bear hide or continue on your way and recoup. This happened multiple times during my play through and sometimes the bear went for me resulting in a few re-spawns.

    Vehicle wise the game has the three levels like weapons and ultimately was a little disappointing with the choices offered up. There is also a Ubisoft club only buggy vehicle which looks cool, but if you are new to Ubisoft titles you can’t unlock immediately and need to play the game for a while before you can redeem. Driving around in cars can make it difficult to take enemies out with gunfire and don’t get me started on “DON’T KILL INNOCENT CIVILIANS” warning that constantly pop up when some idiot runs out in the middle of the road or walks into your gun fight and stands in front of enemies. It seems that art imitates life in this respect.

    The lighting and shadows in the art of this game really help set the mood. There is one mission in which you travel down a river and light torches along the way. There is something so chilling and creepy, yet beautiful and enchanting about this moment that solidified my love of this game. It is a quiet moment, a slow and eerie experience that took me by surprise and made me appreciate the rest of the design and beauty that this game offers. The pink and purple infusion of colour and light that permeates the environment is something rarely used in a post apocalyptic title and is used to great effect. The twinkling of a pinkish light streaming through the antlers of a massive deer is majestic. It looks even better on a PS4 Pro.

    Overall Far Cry New Dawn took me by complete surprise and gave me an addictive and beautiful game environment to play around in. The array of weapons, items and upgrades are fairly on par with other games yet the addition of the buzz saw launcher is pure genius. While the story may head to some really REALLY out there places, it never takes itself too seriously and its dedication to providing a sandbox like experience ultimately pays off. Far Cry New Dawn is the surprise of 2019 and worth playing.    … Expand

    It was good. Not excellent, not fabulous, but good.

    I adored Far Cry 5, and I was highly anticipating this one- but the story wasn't nearly as strong as I would have liked it to be, and for a sequel game, there were way too many loose threads from FC5 left untouched and unexplored.

    I was a little afraid of the RPG elements on the FarCry.. But Im suprised. The game is awesome and keep the good old Far Cry style. :)
    I just think the story is a little too short. But the outpost scavange option and expeditions are GREAT!

    A bright, beautiful, vibrant take on a post-apocalyptic open world with a reduced price tag just isn't enough to save it from its underwhelming story, frustrating glitches, derivative design, poorly implemented RPG mechanics and heavily padded content. It's almost as if it goes out of its own way to be the worst Far Cry yet.

There was multiple times when I downgraded my guns and swapped back to ones I have unlocked ages ago just so that I wasn't killing everything with 1 smg bullet. Was a big fan of FarCry 5 (best since 3) but this is just a joke tbh. It seems soooo rushed and uninspired its not even funny. God I hope they can drop all this **** for 6 and make it good because I normally love FarCry games. Trading this garbage in tomorrow… Expand

    It's a Far Cry 5 DLC FFS -> The gameplay doesn't differ much from the original which is fine by my standards. I had a lot of fun though the pricing is a bit too high as for a standalone DLC. If you are franchise fan pick it up, now or while on discount - you won't be disappointed.

    Absolutely love this game! An actual good narrative that is interesting and gives us a look on the aftermath of possibly one of the biggest endings in a Far Cry game. A lot of the textures have been redone and updated as well as adding new light RPG elements, new ideas such as expedition short missions and a lot of replayability. I enjoyed this game quite a bit.

    By the way it's called a    Absolutely love this game! An actual good narrative that is interesting and gives us a look on the aftermath of possibly one of the biggest endings in a Far Cry game. A lot of the textures have been redone and updated as well as adding new light RPG elements, new ideas such as expedition short missions and a lot of replayability. I enjoyed this game quite a bit.

    By the way it's called a flower bloom after a nuclear explosion. Might want to read up on something before just complaining because it's colorful.    … Expand

The numbered entries are still relatively similar but between those games, we get titles like Blood Dragon, Primal, and now New Dawn (one could throw in FC4 and FC5 DLCs too). They're unique and allow for the franchise to stay fresh even though it's been going on for more than a decade and a half.     New Dawn is a looter-shooter RPG with bullet sponges and ranked vehicles/weapons/enemies. It doesn't feel like Far Cry to me, although I appreciate the effort to try something new yet again. Even though this entry doesn't exactly impress me as much as I would have liked, I still love that this series can't go stale and New Dawn keeps that streak going (more or less).
    For Far Cry fans, I recommend buying this game at 40 bucks and then spending 20 on in-game weapons. It'll help this feel like Far Cry because you'll be able to get a high-level bow and take people out in one hit. If you don't do that, then you'll need literally hundreds of arrows to take down a high-ranking outpost.    … Expand

    This game is best describe as "Same all, same all". If you enjoyed Far Cry 5 then you will probable like this game. There is a small difference to the other Far Cry series.
    1. When taking over a base you can choose to salvage it and the base is re-taken by the enemy. You can re-take it again at a harder difficulty with more elite soldiers. - No bad i would say and should keep this    This game is best describe as "Same all, same all".     5. Why are there microtransaction in this kinda game? O_O Lucky you can unlock special weapons with the uplay points you get for free and the coins can be found ingame BUT its easier just to farm the materials to craft them.

A nuclear explosion in FC5 would no doubt fry a good portion of that side of the country and Canada. I would have liked to have been able to go to other places, hunt other animals, and possibly fight a variety ofFar Cry 4 and 5 were amazing; enough of a difference between them to essentially call them different games. Why do some of the characters from FC5 look old now, yet Joseph Seed looks the same? I'm a solo campaign type of guy and New Dawn is definitely not long enough. All this being said, I like the controls, don't change that. I like that I don't have to bend over to loot anything, don't change that. I like being able to replay outposts, nice. But I don't like the bland story line or the ease of hunting (fly helicopter to location, land, binoculars, shoot, on to the next one...I want to be able to hunt. As for the story, I find myself skipping most of what everyone has to say, because I simply don't care; it's not entertaining enough.

    My suggestions for next locations: Northern Canada, South America, Africa, Egypt, or historical (Mayans, Aztecs, Mesopotamia, Rome, Egyptian, Southern US, etc.)

    As for all of the other critics out there. No matter what company puts out whatever game, people are always going to find issues with it. Racist? I don't think so. Feminist? I don't think so. I could develop a variety of insulated mugs, paint them black, and call them 1) The Black Mug, 2) The Big Black Mug, 3) The Bigger Black Mug. And because my last name is "Black" a ton of **** out there are gonna boycott the mugs because they are racist. It's just a game people. It's not meant to target or be negative towards anyone. It's not teaching me to go out and be harsh against women or black people. I don't hear anybody saying Super Mario Bros was racist against Italians, or Frogger against the French, or Mortal Kombat against Asians. It's just a game people.    … Expand

    I actually played this game and I am not a Russian bot. The game is in short a agenda filled and essentially overpriced DLC of Far Cry 5. I want what the developers of this game, Fallout 76, BF5 and so on.............are smoking because their games are whacked. Here is a little hint...MAKE a F**kin good game without an agenda like Spiderman, Red Dead and so on.

    People sure are getting their panties in a bunch. It's more Far Cry, which is great. Story's just ok. Graphics and gameplay are awesome, as usual, but as a whole it doesn't do anything new. Is it worth full price ($40)? Not really. I got it for like 8 bucks with gift cards at Best Buy. For that, it's well worth it. Bottom line is it's tons of fun, but hold out for a discounted price if you can.

    I loved FC5, and I like FC new dawn. I play it on 4k with HDR, man it looks awesome and very colorfull.
    The Story is a bit short compare to FC5, but to redo outpost over again is a nice thing and challange, als making the elite weapons stronger and stronger can extend the gameplay alot. with the expeditions missions etc, and granny makes me laugh with her oneliners.

    Sure, it's a reskin of Far Cry 5, but who really expected anything different? The new way they handled perks, and outpost replayability by throwing in cosmetics was a pretty cool concept. I hope they keep some of these more 'replayability' feature in future releases of Far Cry. For $40, I enjoyed many hours and it's well worth it.

    Absolutely loved the game and the vibrant alternative to a bleak post nuke world. This was one of those games that I looked forward to playing when I got home.
    I do have to say that the main story was a bit shorter than I expected though, but who knows what the future might bring.
    Loved the madness that the twins brought to the far cry world

    Far cry new dawn is a 15$ dlc to Far cry 5.. and it looks like, that none of the new additions to the franchise was worth the additional 25$ to the audience that ubisoft wanted to have..

    ... And while Apex legends with its 2 LGBTQ representations and 3 female legends has shown astonishingly that the mostly male FPS/BR gamers simply arent that toxic masculin about player characters if they are simply good and the game overall is working as intended, games that are putting lgbtq and divesity focus instead of a good game system were not doing as well.
    the games that put on focus instead of creating a good game were seeling bad.

    So, turns out that diversity isnt a selling point after all, which did surprise actually noone that was going to buy the game, but it seems to be a painful relevation to those people that wanted wokeness inetad of game assets included in their games and hoped for that relatively cheap game asset to boost sales.

    Brilliant game! loved Far cry 5 and this compliments the ongoing story line from Far cry 5. The graphics aren't as good as far cry 5, but the gameplay is the same which is what counts.

    It was hard for me to make the decision to buy Far Cry New Dawn. I don’t nornally like first person shooters, and I’d never played another Far Cry game before. Although I knew this was an expansion/sequel, the twins in all the promotional art seemed like interesting antagonists and I liked the use of so much pink in a post apocalyptic world. That’s not very usual for these games. Some little voice in my head kept telling me to check this game out even though I hadn’t played Far Cry 5 and I had no idea why but I had to buy it. I couldn’t go based off of reviews because it seemed ALL reviews were basing their opinions off the assumption that you had played many shooters in the past and at least Far Cry 5. There were no reviews aimed toward my demographic, which was someone coming in to it with a fresh set of unbiased eyes. For me this game would be standing on its own, not being compared to Far Cry 5 in every detail. So on the Friday it came out I went to the store right when they opened. I picked it up and went home and popped it in. I was immediately hooked. I’ll admit half the time I had no idea what I was doing at first or how things worked. I didn’t know how to upgrade weapons. Or that I was earning skill points that I could spent to upgrade my abilities. I didn’t know how to fast travel. But I slowly figured everything out as I went along. (There were not really any tutorials to speak of.) Once I got the hang of it I was having a blast. I loved the characters. Timber the dog was my favorite Gun For Hire. The twins were fun to hate. I loved the saw shooting blade weapon. I loved doing the main story missions but often found myself running off my set path to take on side missions I came across. And I couldn’t put the game down for hours and hours at a time. I beat it completely in about 3 days. I loved every minute of it. Taking over the outposts and then going back and doing it again with the harder ranks. I can see people giving this game 6s and 7s and saying it’s not as long as Far Cry 5 or that the twins aren’t as good as past antagonists in the series. But for me, and to anyone else out there who hasn’t played a Far Cry Game, this one is perfectly paced and a good length at a good price point. It’s not so long that it drags on but not so short it feels like a ripoff. One of the best games I’ve played in months. Had so much fun with it.… Expand

    Jogo fraco, é até divertido no início, passar pelos lugares de FarCry 5 trás um pouco de nostalgia, mas fica nisso só. Muito curto, quase sem o que fazer, e mesmos sendo algo comum na franquia, em New Dawn a repetição chegou a níveis absurdos, com pouco tempo de jogo já fica chato.

    This is actually a very nice game that continues the FC5 story and adds more fun and madness to it. The expeditions are great and the graphics and soundtracks are amazing. I have a great time playing it and I encourage anyone to try it. It's a full game , 18-20 hours at least and lots of possibilities to replay / coop with friends.

Да даже в дивижн такой херни не было. Отдельная история с прокачкой. Качай медотсек, качай оружейную, качай сад, качай картографа, качай солдат, качай всё, а еще качай персонажа. Теперь простейшие вещи, типа фаст тревела тоже нужно качать и требует это всё невероятного количества очков. А почему? Потому что вот магазин юбисофт, зайди и за 1500 рублей купи очков себе на пару прокачек, а потом еще и еще и еще раз. Игру затягивают как могут. Взяли половину карты пятого фаркрая и точек на ней поставили в 20 раз меньше. В итоге как ни крути - приходится наматывать километры от точки до точки, собирать тонны всякого ненужного барахла, чтобы хоть на патроны хватило. Вывод такой: как эксперимент такое простить можно, игра сносная. Но как шаг в развитии серии - это отвратительно. Я очень любил фаркрай, всегда предзаказывал новые части, но если теперь серия будет двигаться в таком направлении - мне это не интересно и играть я в это не буду. И надеюсь, все здравомыслящие люди отнесутся к этому так же и не дадут запороть великолепную франшизу унылым гриндом.… Expand

    All these 0 star reviews are both hilarious and insane. The game is exciting funny slick and satisfying. I don't give a damn if it doesn't break any new ground or whether it's 'truly open world' etc and neither will 95 percent of the millions who buy it. It's still massively better than almost any other current game other than Metro Exodus.

    It's a shallow RPG with a far cry skin. Instead of a massive open world playground, you are now boxed into areas with enemies you can currently kill. No gun customization and boring skills for things we already have access too in previous games.

    I really don’t understand the negative reviews unless the people writing them haven’t played the game. It’s more of Far Cry 5 but in a really beautiful world. The gun fighting is great fun as always and the music is outstanding. I’m having a blast it’s just a shame that some people have chosen to hate for no reason. The story is the usual Far Cry. I can’t praise it enough.

The story is on a average level of quality for your typical post apocalyptic and Far Cry game. The story is mostly enjoyable for those who played this game's predecessor Far Cry 5, but difficult to understand if your are new to the series. Characters are also on an average level of quality, nothing memorable though. Character development works well with allies but not with the main antagonists, that being the twin sisters. Weapons, vehicles, gadgets, and basic mechanics from this game's predecessor are mostly copy and pasted into this new game. This is perfectly understandable since this is a spin off title and it was developed just two years after the predecessor.     I played every single Far Cry game that came out on PC and PS. I loved Far Cry 5 and this is the game i was waiting for. I really liked the new concept. Its fresh! I dont see any need to buy any premium currency. This game has really nice graphics.

    I love this game! Far Cry 5 was amazing and the story continues in New Dawn.

    Whoever is directing this train-wreck needs to be fired. Don't waste your money. The franchise peaked at 3 & 4 as an artform. FC5 and the New Dawn reskin are a downgrade and obvious money grab. Even Dunia is worse.

    Good.Liked Far Cry 5, Loved Far Cry New Dawn. It is fun and it continues the story of Far Cry 5, one of my Favourite Games.

    This production is a really shame...is trash..a long dlc of far cry 5...an ugly dlc...a scandalous dlc... ehi ubisoft u like money? Yes i too! but .. Its time to say STOP to rpg element in everywhere and in classic brand...after assassins creed now alredy far cry is ruined to invadent rpg element... ...shame ! shame! shame!

    I’ve simply waited for the reviews on this one, I loved FC5 but thought with the price being a lot lower nothing significant in the game pre orders, no season pass and the download size about 30GB says a lot about this Far Cry 5.5 release. Oops did I say something wrong there lol. Reviews are very average as I thought, so for me as the dragons say, I won’t be investing until it’s reduced in price maybe in few months. Ubisoft I really hope your next Far Cry offering your using FC5 as a template and then go from there. FC5 is by and away the best Far Cry game in the series but there are still loads to improve upon so go ahead Ubisoft make us a classic offering we will not turn down next year. But it’s a no from me on this poor offering. And it’s cheaper to buy in the US than the UK too.… Expand

    This title is totally trash, this is even worst than AC Syndicate in my opinion. All ubisoft games look and works the same: go to the point A, go to the point B, attack enemy base, free hostages etc etc it is so boring and repeatable ... Hope they start listen players ... someday and not making mistake like FC New Dawn again.

    Easy cash-in for Ubisoft before the inevitable cross-gen FC6 next year.

    - lazy re-use of the Far Cry 5 map
    - the game pretends to be post-apocalyptic, but honestly the differences compared to base FC5 are minimal
    - bullet sponge enemies and pointless rpg elements
    - worse graphics than base FC5 game

    Far Cry New Dawn does everything you'd expect from a Far Cry title. However, it failed to deliver the same level of polish and enjoyment its predecessor enjoyed, and while it’s still packed with buckets of fun, I couldn't help shake the feeling that I’ve done all this before.

    New Dawn is a clearing of the air after Far Cry 5, but calling it a "new dawn" is preposterous. What we have here is a sideways hop, a purgatory of a sequel in a series that has no idea what to do with itself, beyond giving you another mapful of nodes to flip. [Issue#331, p.116]

    No doubt about it, Far Cry: New Dawn can give you tons of fun for hours, but if you've played a Far Cry game before, you know what you're getting into, for better or for worse.
