    Easy cash-in for Ubisoft before the inevitable cross-gen FC6 next year.

    - lazy re-use of the Far Cry 5 map
    - the game pretends to be post-apocalyptic, but honestly the differences compared to base FC5 are minimal
    - bullet sponge enemies and pointless rpg elements
    - worse graphics than base FC5 game

    Whoever is directing this train-wreck needs to be fired. Don't waste your money. The franchise peaked at 3 & 4 as an artform. FC5 and the New Dawn reskin are a downgrade and obvious money grab. Even Dunia is worse.

    This title is totally trash, this is even worst than AC Syndicate in my opinion. All ubisoft games look and works the same: go to the point A, go to the point B, attack enemy base, free hostages etc etc it is so boring and repeatable ... Hope they start listen players ... someday and not making mistake like FC New Dawn again.

    Literally the best thing about this game is the nice looking cutscenes (on the rare occasion they actually make sense). The story writing is absolutely disastrous, theres a part where after killing a bunch of 'enemies' you go and confront the twins, BUT FIRST LET'S SURRENDER ALL YOUR WEAPONS its sooo stupid Ubisoft NEEDS NEW WRITERS SOOOO BAD (across basically all their games..) Its anLiterally the best thing about this game is the nice looking cutscenes (on the rare occasion they actually make sense). There was multiple times when I downgraded my guns and swapped back to ones I have unlocked ages ago just so that I wasn't killing everything with 1 smg bullet. Was a big fan of FarCry 5 (best since 3) but this is just a joke tbh. It seems soooo rushed and uninspired its not even funny. God I hope they can drop all this **** for 6 and make it good because I normally love FarCry games. Trading this garbage in tomorrow… Expand

    It's a shallow RPG with a far cry skin. Instead of a massive open world playground, you are now boxed into areas with enemies you can currently kill. No gun customization and boring skills for things we already have access too in previous games.

    Ubisoft took cues for EA/Bethesda/Blizzard to milk its audience before the get wise to their assembly line method of rolling out quasi completed or reskin versions of their past successes.

    Now don't get me wrong: sometimes a sequel like this works out: take for example Far Cry 3: dragon blood. In retrospect, that was a success compared to this abysmal mess.

    It is literally the entire game of Far Cry 5 reskinned with a fallout-like-mod for post apocalyptic world

    If this came out for $15 dollars it would have been fine...This should have been the DLC we waited for...    … Expand

    What i found hard with this game is finding and having powerful enough weapons to start with. You number one priority is to level up your weapon grade. Enemies are bulletsponges to start with. But once you hit the legendary weapons to    Ubisoft are so lazy that they just use the same map now.
    Honestly, it is purely a cash grab game, Buy this cheap if you absolutely looking into trying it.
    What i found hard with this game is finding and having powerful enough weapons to start with. You number one priority is to level up your weapon grade. Enemies are bulletsponges to start with. But once you hit the legendary weapons to craft they get fairly easy to put down. Even the wildlife attacking you demands 2 boxes of shotgun shells to be put down to start with.
    I found the whole game to be very uneven. Enemies does not level up as you do. They are tough as nails in the beginning but super easy in the end.
    There is not much collectibles on this map that Ubisoft is known to litter it with. Due to the short story, you find everything else excess once it's over.
    The more fun aspect of this game are the Expedition missions which takes you to a whole different map out of Hope County. There are 5 of them, but even those gets repetetive pretty quick as they have the same mission every time.
    Like the original Far Cry 5, you have allies to join you. A total of 6 braindead characters with low AI, one dog and one boar (?) (Yes Hurk does a comeback once again as one of them) But i had only used half of them when i was done. Never bothered to use the others. If you want to be flexible with allies, get them early in the game.
    Voice acting is usually dreadful. no biggie there.
    Combat itself is a mess. Totally disorientating once the heat starts building up. Because of the glittering fauna around you sort of blinds your sight you can barely see anything once bullet starts flying. if you are in the hole getting fired on from all sides, just run and hide.
    I am going to finish it as there are little else to play now. Once done with the story. Grind a little more for no reason. finish the expedition on all levels for some achievements and delete the whole thing from the drive.

    the worst game in the series. weapons and enemies have tiers = only high tier weapons can kill enemies. Taking cover, running, aiming and shooting mean nothing, because if you don't have a high tier weapon, you can't kill enemies. this game is like a retarded imitation of borderlands

    Являюсь любителем серии еще с давних времен, каждую часть проходил неоднократно. Даже не смотря на всеобщий фанатизм к третьей части, считаю, что пятая ничуть не хуже. И даже если им в упор в лицо из пулемета катушку высадить - им почти ни царапины, а меня они с двух попаданий уничтожают. И вот ты сидишь такой и думаешь: что это за херня? Это дивижн что ли? Да даже в дивижн такой херни не было. Отдельная история с прокачкой. Качай медотсек, качай оружейную, качай сад, качай картографа, качай солдат, качай всё, а еще качай персонажа. Теперь простейшие вещи, типа фаст тревела тоже нужно качать и требует это всё невероятного количества очков. А почему? Потому что вот магазин юбисофт, зайди и за 1500 рублей купи очков себе на пару прокачек, а потом еще и еще и еще раз. Игру затягивают как могут. Взяли половину карты пятого фаркрая и точек на ней поставили в 20 раз меньше. В итоге как ни крути - приходится наматывать километры от точки до точки, собирать тонны всякого ненужного барахла, чтобы хоть на патроны хватило. Вывод такой: как эксперимент такое простить можно, игра сносная. Но как шаг в развитии серии - это отвратительно. Я очень любил фаркрай, всегда предзаказывал новые части, но если теперь серия будет двигаться в таком направлении - мне это не интересно и играть я в это не буду. И надеюсь, все здравомыслящие люди отнесутся к этому так же и не дадут запороть великолепную франшизу унылым гриндом.… Expand

    More of the same garbage being put out with the Far Cry name on it. If you like gay looking games with lots of pink this is a perfect game for you. They used the same map and aged the characters 17 years. Even at $40 it is overpriced.

    Why this game? Far Cry 3 was really good, FC4 For me the best Far Cry game, FC 5 **** hunting, no radio towers, no ragdoll after explosions. Please stop killing this game UBI!!! :(

It is impossible now to slide properly or go totally stealth when you got used to the classic FPS, or so Far Cry keyboard and mouse specific    I do not know where can I start, as a Far Cry series fan obviously. This game is something totally different from all the previous series.

    I'm not going to say more to not spoil the whole game, because THIS is not something I was waiting for and sadly, I'm gonna apply for a refund. This is not Far Cry - this is some sad and boring experiment that costs 40 bucks and it's not worth it.    … Expand

    Years ago, stuff like that would have come as a DLC for 20 €. What do you do now as Ubisoft? Yeah you release a DLC as a full priced game. I did not actually buy the game. I just wanted to throw this out there that you pay 60€/$ for a f*cking DLC. Since Far Cry 5 was trash, this is also going to be trash. My advice: Do not spend 60 bucks on a full priced DLC.     Pretty terrible. Short story. Annoying & uninteresting characters. Reused assets galore, poorly implemented. Shallow RPG elements. Small reused map & locations. Microtransactions. Terrible AI. Stale graphics engine & movement system that's not evolved in 5-6yrs.

    This game is nothing but a cash-grab pure & simple. A game nobody asked for.

    I’ve simply waited for the reviews on this one, I loved FC5 but thought with the price being a lot lower nothing significant in the game pre orders, no season pass and the download size about 30GB says a lot about this Far Cry 5.5 release. Oops did I say something wrong there lol.     Far cry new dawn is a 15$ dlc to Far cry 5.. and it looks like, that none of the new additions to the franchise was worth the additional 25$ to the audience that ubisoft wanted to have..

    ... And while Apex legends with its 2 LGBTQ representations and 3 female legends has shown astonishingly that the mostly male FPS/BR gamers simply arent that toxic masculin about player characters if they are simply good and the game overall is working as intended, games that are putting lgbtq and divesity focus instead of a good game system were not doing as well.
    the games that put on focus instead of creating a good game were seeling bad.

    So, turns out that diversity isnt a selling point after all, which did surprise actually noone that was going to buy the game, but it seems to be a painful relevation to those people that wanted wokeness inetad of game assets included in their games and hoped for that relatively cheap game asset to boost sales.

    I actually played this game and I am not a Russian bot. The game is in short a agenda filled and essentially overpriced DLC of Far Cry 5. I want what the developers of this game, Fallout 76, BF5 and so on.............are smoking because their games are whacked. Here is a little hint...MAKE a F**kin good game without an agenda like Spiderman, Red Dead and so on.

    A bright, beautiful, vibrant take on a post-apocalyptic open world with a reduced price tag just isn't enough to save it from its underwhelming story, frustrating glitches, derivative design, poorly implemented RPG mechanics and heavily padded content. It's almost as if it goes out of its own way to be the worst Far Cry yet.

    honestly the game is pretty decent. i would give it at least an 8/10, but the egregious microtransactions really bring this game down. They give you 450 of the fake currency throughout the gameplay but its still 150 short of buying anything good in the game and that is definitely no coincidence. until microtransactions die I cannot recommend this game or any far cry game to anyone.

    Sure, I am used to playing open world games, but even Fallout 76 is better than this. Fall into a creek? Expect a nightmare of game play to get out. Totally on 90's gameplay rails as far as experience goes. Terrible game.:{

    This should have been a small DLC to Far Cry 5, nothing more. There is way too much of an atmosphere breaking, unrealistic pink theme to it that it cant be taken seriously. Its not even entertaining. The story is hot garbage and the antagonists are ao awful.

    A massive disappointment. I've loved this series since it came out. The first two thirds of this game is really fun if you are a Far Cry fan, but then inevitably Ubi completely drops the ball. Beginning with the end of act 2 the player gets railroaded into terrible unskippable story scenes with horrible writing and acting with no player choice. You then fight several lazy "wall of HP"A massive disappointment. I've loved this series since it came out.     The same core gameplay mechanics dominate this game. The start of the game sees you hoisted into the beginnings of a rebel camp against overwhelming odds. From there you must recruit allies, take over enemy bases, upgrade your own and explore the locale for resources. Does this sound familiar? It should - it's been the structure of every Far Cry game since the fourth, if not earlier.

    If you haven't played any other Far Cry game, this could be half-decent, but these tired old open-world mechanics are very repetitive and very lazy to continue to be relied upon by Ubisoft at this point.

    One other key thing is worth mentioning, which is the microtransactions that are not-so-discretely slotted into the game and can greatly expedite your progress at the expense of more hard-earned cash, unlike the cash that Ubisoft rakes in every year from this crap.

    Really, Far Cry New Dawn has absolutely nothing new about it. Don't bother with this even though it's practically a bargain-bin game by now. There's a reason why I found it there.    … Expand

    End of this generation consoles life span and Farcry as stale as a 6 year old cracker. Time too take what's best from this series and create a new IP. Even the name of the game leaves my palette dry... 9.99 price tag about right just to get it in and out of the way...

    This game is a shame, it should have been similar like Uncharted The Lost Legacy was, so more than a a simple DLC. Nonetheless it is another edition of Far Cry 5 which was also a great disappointment compare to 3 & 4. New Dawn and 5 are also very repetitive, monoton & tedious, unlike Lost Legacy which was playing in a whole new place with another excellent characters.

    Somehow they manage to make this even worst than Far Cry 5. This enemy ranking system is so bad that it should not be exist. You have no way to beat some lvl 3 cougar when you are lvl 1, so they take all the fun from exploration away. How bad will FC 6 be when these gets worst and worst. So disappointed for this.

    Glad I didnt pay full price for this. I know it's a continuation of FC5 but its half the game. Yes there are new weapons and vehicles but the whole game is missing so much. Less collectables less main and side missions and a really week story. Ok if you pay £10 for it

    It's okay? Some characters were okay, but most kinda fell flat. The twins are the only ones and hurk, to stand out for me. Not really much to do, not really any side missions. It's pretty much a straight cut game. Story was okay but also short and bland as well.     However, just as I hadn't the slightest desire to stay with the game longer than absolutely necessary, I have no interest in staying with this review for long.

    Bland story, boring repetitive missions, great performances for the twins and once again Greg byrk who’s Joseph Seed wasn’t given anytime in both 5 and new dawn to truly flourish and the game around let him down twice.

    Far Cry New Dawn is a standalone expansion that talks about the aftermath of the ending of Far Cry 5, with the explosions of the nuclear bombs.
    The map is still the same, and it's not so post apocaliptic, the story takes place 18 years after the fifth chapter, but it's pretty much the same map, with partially destroyed buildings and very bright vegetation that is growing everywhere.
    I really don't like all the RPG elements, they just don't have any sense in this kind of game and they actually ruin all the Far Cry in this Far Cry.
    The plot Is okay, it's pretty good to me.

The gun had unlimited ammo and you never had to reload. The gun would be shot and would blow up everything around it. The post apocalyptic theme is nice and the vibrant colors look really nice. But god do I have things to say. Every companion is terrible in their own way. Every human companion besides the besides the Judge is annoying and Timber and the boar (I forgot it's name) Are way too op. But i'm talking out of my ass here because I used companions for about 9 minutes before going solo. I only used them when I was testing them thinking one would be different. They tried to re use the Far Cry 5 map but fell flat on their face. The RPG element is terrible too. RPGS usually take me about 200+ hours to finish. They wear me out incredibly easy and make me feel lazy for not doing side quests. Far Cry New Dawn tries their best to shove this element into Far Cry 5 and fail. Also please don't give us another **** silent protag. Personally I get where they're coming from thinking people can be themselves by customization to make them look like they're real life person. The problem is that their voice can not be transferred into the game and they can't talk to anyone. It makes it even less immersive. I hear Far Cry 6 has a voice acted character tho but I haven't play 6 yet as i'm waiting to get a PS5. So I overall do not like this game at all. Pros are the vibrant color scheme and the post apocalyptic theme. Cons..... Everything else .… Expand

    This game was built on a similar system of Far Cry 5 but they added a small leveling like system to it that I despised. More specifically it was a similar system to Assassin’s Creed Unity but I found pretty quickly how to get around it.

    Far Cry New Dawn does everything you'd expect from a Far Cry title. However, it failed to deliver the same level of polish and enjoyment its predecessor enjoyed, and while it’s still packed with buckets of fun, I couldn't help shake the feeling that I’ve done all this before.
