    I wouldn't recommend this game for what it's being advertised as. It's not much of a Survival game at all. Not much of an open world experience. Not much of a story. It is however a good combination of tried and true game mechanics in a zombie-afflicted fictional middle eastern city.

    I haven't tried Co-op, but considering it's nothing at all what's being advertised (as expected), there    I wouldn't recommend this game for what it's being advertised as. It's not much of a Survival game at all. Not much of an open world experience. Not much of a story. It is however a good combination of tried and true game mechanics in a zombie-afflicted fictional middle eastern city.

    I haven't tried Co-op, but considering it's nothing at all what's being advertised (as expected), there was nothing within my soul telling me to bother trying it.

    It is however a good combination of tried and true.. oh yeah, I already said that. So anyways, if you liked playing every single Assassin's Creed, you'll probably like this game too. Especially if Zombies are also awesome in your book.

    If not, don't expect this game to give you any thrills outside of what I already mentioned. Not to say that I can't have fun with it, I just can't recommend it.    … Expand

    I had been keeping an eye on this title for the past year with high hopes, but a realistic expectations. I am only 5 hrs into the game, so take this review accordingly.

    The parkour is possibly the best in any game I can recall, and the fighting feels weighted very much in realism, aside from the leaping dodge moves you get early in game. Upgrading is fun, not too tedious, and really    I had been keeping an eye on this title for the past year with high hopes, but a realistic expectations. I am only 5 hrs into the game, so take this review accordingly.

    The parkour is possibly the best in any game I can recall, and the fighting feels weighted very much in realism, aside from the leaping dodge moves you get early in game. Upgrading is fun, not too tedious, and really pays off in various ways. Story is solid, characters are not-too contrived and side missions are great.

    I think my biggest complaint would be lip sync animations, and that's about it. The game is surprising me with thoughtfulness of multi-tiered level design, but they don't over-do it. You may be a bit tired of climbing puzzles if you played Far Cry 3, 4 recently, but there aren't too many in my playthrough so far to turn me away. The world is quite immersive, with great lighting, good effects like fog, fire, electrocution etc... overall if you are into zombie games, this is your game. If not, I still consider it a must play for it's parkour survival feel and beautiful immersive surroundings.    … Expand

    So many things make this game perfect. Graphics on any next-gen console look amazing. Many people are trying to compare this to Dead Island, but thats impossible because of how different the game feels. The story is engaging and interesting to follow throughout along with the large number of side quests there are.     I finally made an account after so many games with ignorant 0 reviews, one guy on here wrote about the pc port being horrible on the ps4 side. (Maybe you need a better pc bro). My honest review of this game is 7.5-8/10. I am very impressed with the graphics and being a fan of the dead island series despite its flaws you can tell techland put alot of effort into this game. The gameplay is fluid, the parkour is fun and at night it's a rush and the gameplay dynamics change to a more stealthier last of us feel, and then you get spotted and it becomes a frantic scramble to escape, something i was very impressed at how exciting it was. Dying loght is of the same vein as dead island: craftable weapon upgrades, skill trees, coop, all things that work very well. I get that there is one protagonist, but i wish it was more like dead island with class based skill trees, which in coop could have had a better dynamic with different skills and abilities. Although the story is better than DI its lacking, and my only other issue so far is character models. With such a pretty game it's a shame the human npcs are so generic without emotion, and the star of the show, the zombies are so repetitive, its a shame there aren't many different models so when they're in a group it looks more interesting than six bikini wearing zombies and 4 red shirt one armed zombies. All in all techlands clean slate departure from deep silvers control is a great start, if they listen to fans, dying light 2 could be the best open world zombie game yet!… Expand

    I was VERY skeptical about Dying Light, more-so than any other games. I have been extremely disappointed with games on the PS4 so far.

    This game however, was a breath of fresh air. The graphics are top notch, and the story is not quiet what you would expect but still very intriguing.     If you liked the dead island series, or if you just like bashing zombies in the head with poles and wrenches, or savaging the city for parts and blueprints while creating contraptions to destroy hordes of zombies..

The game looks very good and so far has very little frame rate drops and the sounds and voices are superb. This is a long game with estimated 20- to 40 hours to finish it. And the game play is fun. The be the zombie mode is pretty fun and the zombie is really agile and overpowered unless players shine a UV light on you the you are basically dead so surprise is your friend.

    The story so far is good but predictable and that is OK as some things are expected to happen when the zombie apocalypse strikes. Co-op is fun and the game remains a threat to you if you are not careful but it does take some of the tension off the fighting.

    In all a good game with plenty to do and see. I give the game an 8 its a must buy for fans of zombie games but like I said in the beginning it does suffer some significant technical hiccups that hold it back from being scored higher. Definitely worth playing.    … Expand

    - multiplayer sensacional, coop desde o começo apos o prologo, é so deixar ativado o coop que sempre entra gente , e o modo zumbi pode deixar ativado pra outros jogadores entrar no seu jogo, ou pode jogar sozinho sem ninguem te encher ai vai a gosto do freguês.
    - são tantas qualidades nesse jogo, diria que esse é o jogo que a muito procurava de zumbis, o sistema de combate é muito show enquanto em outros jogos os inimigos tu ataca e sao uns pedaços de madeira aqui no dying light o inimigo sente o golpe é so jogando pra entender é muito show.

    - a dublagem esta muito mais muito boa mesmo, fizeram um otimo trabalho parabens a warner e techland.
    - o som do jogo esta muito show.

    - quem tiver em duvidas pode comprar, esse jogo merece ser comparado.

    Great game. One of the best games I have played in a long time, and the best zombie game ever. The game is beautiful from the environment to the expansive map to the weapon and crafting selection and the parkour running system was amazing. This game got me instantly hooked. A brilliant game and I cant until the next.

    After 10 hours of gameplay, no dough this game is better than Dead Island. better graphics, better combat, better story, better mission, and better everything that you can think of. I love combat a lot during the daytime, and race with nightmare during the night. Night time really make you feel like playing a horror game, compare to most of other zombie games. Aside from a few "wonky" visual glitches here and there, the game is supremely stable as well. Which again, is hard to come by these days.

The freerunning, while it starts out slow and requires practice, turns into quite a bit of fun as you progress and unlock new abilities and get better with the controls. The combat is also very satisfying. I don't think I've felt as much satisfaction with a metal pipe to the head since the Condemned series. Good stuff. This is all made even more fun when you factor in the 4-player co-op. Nothing like freerunning the streets together and knocking zombie heads with friends.

    All in all, I'd say if you're a fan of Farcry 4, Mirrors Edge, and Dead Island, you will most definitely enjoy this game. Go pick it up!    … Expand

    This game is mindblowing, the parkour aspect is great and free running is flawless, you definitely should get this game. Dead Islnd should go cry in a corner after playing this.

    Yeah, this is clearly a good start of 2015. The parkour system is amazing, feels more natural comparing to Mirror's Edge. Weapons customization is great, there are many things to loot around the map and combine them to improve your weapons. Also, the leveling system is big and easy to upgrade the abilities. The story seems to be pretty decent and serious which makes the game more    8/10

    Basically dead island with free running. Multiplayer is fun and its fun invading other players game as a zombie. Single player is boring after a few hours. If your a fan of dead island this is a must buy. If your not I would recommend a rental or buying Resident evil.

    Fun, scary, and pretty. It follows the gameplay style of Far Cry 3&4, which is not a bad thing. The melee system feels nice and brutal. It's a lot of fun to dropkick a zombie off a cliff or into spikes. A few bugs here and there. Overall I'm having a blast.

It's fairly simple concept during day go out do quests try to avoid zombies as much as possible however when the sun falls the true nightmare begins as zombies get stronger and faster along with the environment being really dark makes you feel somewhat helpless as you helplessly try to climb a building. Overall story is pretty run of the mill (I haven't beaten it yet but so far I'm enjoying the game). The only problem I think lies in the controls and that is they're pretty difficult to get the hang of, along with several glitches in parkouring such as some things you can grab onto others you can't for some odd reason, combat is a bit clunky and difficult, but I think this can all be forgiven since these aren't happening 100% of the time, and the combat mechanics being bad so that you get it through your mind to stop fighting and run. So basically this game is at the edge of being survival horror if anything, there were actually a few times of being generally terrified as being chased by a bunch of zombies at night does and several zombies creeping the hell out of me when I was beating one and it cries out "PLEASE NO! HELP ME!" and I generally felt sorry and creeped out.… Expand

    I'm enjoying it so far! I can't wait to try the multiplayer now! I must say that I cannot believe the discrepancy in scores so far. One 94 critical review and one 50!? WTF?? Did they play the same game???

    One of my favorite PS4 games so far. Nice graphics and immersive atmosphere. I really like the parkour style gameplay and the roleplay elements. Crafting and leveling up your skills motivates to keep going. Even the story and characters are interesting and well written. Great game!

    i dont see a reason to hate the game, played it for 4 hours the 1st night i got it. the world and fighting kept me engaged and on my toes. some situations nearly got out of hand, i would be fighting 1-4 zombies in front of me and 3-5 more would somehow walk out of no where and get behind me and nearly killed me. doesnt seem like there is a difficulty setting, only thing i seem to noticei dont see a reason to hate the game, played it for 4 hours the 1st night i got it. the world and fighting kept me engaged and on my toes. some situations nearly got out of hand, i would be fighting 1-4 zombies in front of me and 3-5 more would somehow walk out of no where and get behind me and nearly killed me. doesnt seem like there is a difficulty setting, only thing i seem to notice about it, is that the zombies get slightly different/harder the higher the level i go, like slight increases and this might be the case. which means it will get harder the higher the level i get, which is perfect for me. i will try out online play once i have more skills but i do see how that will be any less fun. great game so far and big enough world for me, since there is no fast traveling, if they make it bigger in the future somehow, then they need to ad vehicles or some sort of subway but i like big and i dont mind running.… Expand

    By far without a doubt the greatest PS4 game to date. From the atmosphere to the loot and the ambient sounds to the moment you bash that zombies brains out with your newly crafted weapon, this game is a solid 10/10.

    Not many games are a 10 besides a few. With this being said this game definitely deserves a 9. Great graphics, smooth gameplay, I love the searching for items and looting thrown in with creating weapons. It still has an eery feeling to the game my only problem with it so far is that there is no set difficulty and it seems the zombies are easy to avoid but all and all id say this game isNot many games are a 10 besides a few.     Put about 4 hours into Dying Light yesterday. Great game. Have to say if you own a new gen system its a must. Graphics are great and the gameplay is smooth. The storyline is definitely enough to keep you interested. I preordered it back when it was originally suppose to launch and waited forever for it. Im glad I did cause its one game where its seems they put some time into. 10/10 for me.

    I am impressed, I must admit I was skeptical, Dead Island was fun but disappointing (all the bugs), I'm only about 5 hours deep in the game, the night time is extremely intense & thrilling, the mechanics are solid & graphics are above average, the main thing is this is ten fold better than Dead Island, it has the fun factor and is challenging enough to keep me wanting more!

    AWESOME. Its a fun Game and an awesome parkour with great mechanics and a real satisfying gun,-fightplay. Dont listen to the trolls. It´s worth its money. Especially 4 Player coop will hit you hard!

After 3 hours of play my worries were blown away by the thoughtfilness and enjoyment of the missions. my quality worries were blownaway after 5 minutes. The graphics and visuals are top notch and the best ive seen on the PS4 since Killzone. i do enjoy playing day at the moment rather than night but im sure that will change as i level up more and more serious weaponry. The traversal system takes a small amount of time to get used to with the allocated buttons, but once learnt is easy to master. I do miss vehicles somewhat but really that will take away the purpose of the game.Combat is satisfying , the booby traps you can let off to exterminate nearby zombies are great fun. After many hours things get even better. i do not want to ruin any surprise so seriously, experience it yourself. One spoiler i can give is a grappling hook that makes traversal even more fun. Do not listen to the trolls giving this AA tile bad reviews. If you like zombie games at all. Then get this. if you dont like zombies try it anyway. 9/10 upgraded due to pathetic reviews by people who havent even tried it    … Expand

    I put three hours into the career mode last night. I am at work now and the thought of playing "Dying Light" is making my heart race. I have been playing horror-survival type games since "Resident Evil 1" on the PlayStation, and I can safely say that this is as scary as games get. It's scarier than "The Last of Us," that's for damn sure. Come nightfall, I find myself fleeing towards aI put three hours into the career mode last night. I am at work now and the thought of playing "Dying Light" is making my heart race. I have been playing horror-survival type games since "Resident Evil 1" on the PlayStation, and I can safely say that this is as scary as games get. It's scarier than "The Last of Us," that's for damn sure. Come nightfall, I find myself fleeing towards a safe-zone like a little b**** with my heart in my throat.

    Also, the parkour is super smooth. You can jump for certain walls and even if you are an inch short, the game will give you the benefit of the doubt and let you pull yourself up... away from the zombies scratching at your feet.

    The story is definitely a big part of the game. Way more story than I expected. There were even times at the beginning where I felt like the story development was holding me back from bashing in zombie brains with a steel pipe, which is why I bought the game.

    The music and sound effects are awesome, and the graphics are incredible. I find these visuals unbelievable. Also, the map is so big that I know it'll take me at least another 10-15 hours of game-play before I have any sense of direction.

    All-in-all, awesome game. It was even sold out at the first two stores I went to, and I didn't even know that was possible nowadays.    … Expand

    Geniales Gameplay, habe gestern 3 std. gezockt und bin total begeistert. Freu mich gleich weiter zocken zu können. Story hat mir sehr gefallen, Steuerung ist genial. Fühlt sich super flüssig an. Der Unterschied zwischen Tag und Nacht ist genial.

    In the 10 hours that I've been playing I have not been disappointed by anything one bit! The characters, story, game play, graphics are just all so stunning. They could have gone just a bit easier on the film grain but it doesn't bother me much at at all and after playing for a bit I totally forgot it was there. Very detailed skills and upgrades.     Dying Light is a breath of fresh air in the open world zombie horror genre. The Visuals are very crisp and clean. Voice acting is very good,character animations are life like and realistic.

    I was really on the fence with this game, but watching streams made me very confident that this game would be relatively bug free. zombies are getting old as a genre, but this game makes it feel fresh. dying light really reminds me of my first few rounds of left 4 dead 1 and 2. the only thing that bothers me about the game is learning the awkward FPS controls that you can't change.

    I've been playing for a few hours now and I love it. Co-op story was a huge selling point for me. I enjoy single play campaigns a lot more when I'm able to play with friends.

    I thought it'd suck for sure due to the fact that no critics could even review it until, basically, launch day, and due to the fact that it was made by the same peeps that made the sluggish, boring, tedious Dead Island series.

    This is a TRUE zombie game. A true survival game. Just when I thought nobody could make a fresh take on the genre, I'm blown away by this masterpiece. How smart were they. They stuck the finger to all the negative nancy's out there by creating a game very much worthy of having awesome reviews released a month early, but holding it back and letting the public form their own opinion before it gets tainted by professional critics paid to give good scores or bad scores.

    Play the game without reading a professional review and you'll be pleasantly reminded what a true video game is all about. This is the birth of a new franchise, re-imaging of the survival horror genre, married with slick action adventure with RPG elements. I don't know how long this game is, but it keeps upping the the fun around every corner that I pray that it goes on for 100 hours (At least). TOTALLY worth the price!
    This is a gamers dream. I can't wait for the sequel.... and I haven't played all the way through! This is the first game that I've reviewed without completing it all the way yet. That's saying something.

    I love being wrong in times like this and I love taking a risk and having it pay off. Seriously WB and interactive, crowd fund the next one and let's get it rolling.    … Expand

    As I am playing Dying Light the first thing i can say is that this is what Dead Island should have been. The game really encourages character leveling ,and you can really feel your characters growth with each level you gain.     Last of Us, Mirrors Edge and Fallout blended to perfection! Best game of this generation so far, can't believe how fun and fresh the whole thing feels. I was not a fan of Dead Islands, but this is something far more deep and entertaining.

There were times where I felt like a survivor in a zombie apocalypse during my time there. Now on to Dying Light....

    I took a leap of faith with this one and it appeared to pay off. I was never a fan of the breakable weapon system that is still employed here but it pays respects to the zombie movies of old in a way, where a slow, lumbering zombie is so deceptively deadly in a grotesque yet nearly innocuous package. Crane is agile, athletic, and very capable of maintaining a pulse but arrogance will get you killed if you aren't careful. The parkour system allows you to spring into action across a sprawling city and the camera work only serves to preserve the adrenaline it wants you to feel, especially during the night. The combat feels good, you almost can feel the thud of a bat on the undeads' collective skulls. Upgradeable skills allows you to be more defensive than most FPS games and your ability to haul ass when the cards aren't in your favor round out the package.

    The graphics are pretty incredible, with great draw distances, lush vegetation, and what i would consider amazing lighting. You see, I've never experienced the top end of PC gaming so the ps4 serves as the benchmark for I think is great. No complaints in this department and I can't even nit pick about frame rate or what have you because any drop proved to be negligible, short lived, and rare. Now on to the bad news....

    The voice acting is atrocious, the story isn't fleshed out, the characters have room to breathe but they don't. Dead island never wowed in this department and this entry won't either. The main character being the worst offender. I think they grabbed the janitor as he strolled through the studio that day and asked if he wanted an extra five bucks an hour... goodness... Then again, The Last of Us pretty much spoiled it for everyone. I don't think this should be a detracting factor... Super Mario Brothers wasn't directed by Quentin Tarrantino either sooooooo.... I don't consider it a deal breaker although it only establishes a reason to run through a disease torn city.

    The mission structure is all fetch quests for the most part, but they... gives you a reason to enjoy the mechanics which are amazing. The character almost muses about being on the monkey bars and the city will appeal to those who remember that part of the playground. It's a true testament to the creators of the game that they can make mundane mission structures fun simply because you want to rip through the same streets because they always seem to feel new. Love it....

    If this game fails in the press it won't be because of the game or it's mechanics, it will be because you can't seem to care for anyone in it. I'm of the opinion that if you want to love a character, read a novel, if you simply want to keep your pulse pounding, then this might be the game for you, providing we are of similar mindsets.    … Expand

    I share played this to my suprise it's great.
    I was thier biggest critic but it looks like the developer put the time in and released a gem.
    BEWARE PC master race some pople are saying the pc version has some glitches.
    I hope people help police the reviews so pc reviews don't end up here.

    Good game good graphics can't wait to co op this game.

    I enjoy it alot! Ignore the multiplayer & the graphics. I enjoyed the Parkour alot, & it's kicking like I've never seen before. It might be challenging when night comes, & scares you. But, you got a lots of fun in Dying Light.

    First of all, i have played through the full game and i am not reviewing this game like most who have only played a couple of hours. That said This is probably the most fun i have had with a game in a long time. The controls takes some getting used since you jump on R1/RB and you cant change that to the usual X/A.

    The graphics are fairly impressive and the only complaint i have is the GRAIN filter Techland decided to go with.

    So im about to start a NG+ and try to get max level and im really looking forward to it. Still Collectibles for me to find and Trophies to unlock.

    Theres was alot of problems for me with the preload of this game but that is not Techland fault so it will not be taken into account here. I give this game a solid 8/10. If you liked Dead island just a little bit youll most likely love this game. 8/10    … Expand

    Fantastic game. Amazing graphics and smooth gameplay. Good characters and story as well. Its nice to see a next gen game that takes advantage of the power of these systems WITHOUT all the glitches.

    Dying light is a solid zombie game.But that doesnt make it the best way of wasting time, the parkour system gets boring upon time and everyone knows how frustrating zombie combat be over time.Nights are challenging.Making ''survival'' harder but you are adviced to skip them at the start of the game by sleeping.

The game itself is so enjoyable you won't even realize how mediocre the story is. The other complaint I've seen is that the game is repetitious.. SURE, expect to run a few errands or so, but again, the gameplay is so outstanding between every objective you won't even bat an eye. It's all about reading between the lines people. This game accomplished everything it set out to. And if you're wondering how big of a difference day time and night actually are in the game, nighttime can be quite terrifying. The first encounter specifically is an experience in and of itself. And if you want to avoid the city at night, you can even choose to sleep until morning back at the safe zone. However this isn't always an option so be prepared to be on the edge of your seat. 1010. Would recommend to just about anyone. (sorry for the long review)… Expand

Take my word for it and buy this game, or dont and make the mistake of sitting here reading reviews, only to never buy it and experience it. Id buy it again. Each and every time.… Expand

    This game made me smile in such a way that I cried tears of joy when I realized what I was playing. I hated Dead Island and this just makes up for everything including the existence of herpes

    Like Far Cry 4 with zombies. Gameplay so good. Great graphics. If you decide hang out overnight can be your worst nightmare. A pure zombie game and survival on its best and to the point. No middleground.

    This game so far is pretty good, graphics look amazing but it does have this weird motion blur lag that kinda bothers me, the story is getting good and makes you wonder and think, I have not tried multiplayer and play as the zombie mode, but I'm hoping I can today, "Good Night and Good Luck" literally the zombies at night are crazy

    I would give this a solid 8. My biggest way of summarizing the game would be what Dead Island should have been. The story isn't any Dragon Age or Heavy Rain caliber but its interesting enough to keep you engaged. Combat is pretty fun.

I have seen some odd to downright hilarious things while playing this game, nothing game breaking, but like zombies stuck in cars or watching them fall over and over again.

    Combat is very similar to Dead Island but feel far more natural. The games level system with combat makes it seem like your weaker than you should be at first and then way stronger than anyone should be by the end. I get this is probably to give the player a sense of learning to fight and survive and while its entirely possible you will survive even the most intense swarm, just keep in mind that in most events early on its always best to just run. Once the levels start rolling in and the weapons get better and better you effectively become the Rick Grimes of Dying Light and just start mowing through the undead.

    The audio of the game is pretty spectacular, probably my favorite part. The voice acting is pretty sharp with Roger Craig Smith (Known for playing Chris Redfield & Ezio Auditore) taking the lead. The ambient noise provides great atmosphere, especially at night when things are at their creepiest. Most firearms sound average, neither great, nor bad. Weapon impact on melee weapons sound great though and add to the brutality of the actions on screen.

    As some have stated, the story is well more than I expected it to be, so I have to give them kudos for trying, the game is at it's best when playing co-op or even more so when terrorizing players as a Zombie. The only real thing I feel they missed out on was leaving out vehicles (like I stated at the start) but otherwise its a solid zombie game for next gen consoles.

    Overall it's certainly the best game we have seen from Techland    … Expand

    Just another unoptimized console port. very little options to adjust and even high end rigs are getting 40fps at best. The game itself is bugged to hell and back. I really have to wonder what they did during all these delays because they sure as hell didn't work on the game. Bottom line DO NOT BUY ON PC
