Esse jogo é muito bom mesmo, fazia tempo que não jogava um game de zumbi realmente divertido e que te deixasse tenso ao mesmo tempo. Recomendo. Parece um Far Cry de zumbi.

Not sure why Techland gets sh*t on by "pro" reviewers more than other developers. I don't know why, really. Yeah the story is meh. I agree the zombies may not be wearing thin for some. But you know what? It's committed no faults that any other higher rated game haven't committed. It's actually probably one of two games that worked out of the box in the last 2 years. It's a fun, tense, open world zombie freerunning rpg. Enjoy it, even if it is Techland, the red headed stepchildof game developers. Expand

The story and characters are interesting and you get thrown into the world of dying light from the second you pick up the controller when GRE subcontractor Kyle Crane has to try and find a cure for the disease.

My one complaint with the game is that once you beat it, there is very little to do other than continue to bash zombies or upgrade weapons. I have not played any of the DLC's, but it looks like the developer is wanting to continue to add content.

Dying Light is an intense thriller in which the protagonist, Kyle Crane, works to save the doomed residents of Harran. In addition to the night survivalDying Light is an intense thriller in which the protagonist, Kyle Crane, works to save the doomed residents of Harran. The was marketed as a survival game, especially after the sun goes down and the zombies get faster and more aggressive and the viral zombies appear. Running the streets at night is a video experience which will get your pulse racing. In addition to the night survival modes the story attempts to really ratchet up the intensity and draw you in, sometimes succeeding, more often failing.

Dying Light is also a beautiful game and the graphics are 1st rate. The game has everything you would expect from an open world, including side quests and ways to waste time, however the game lacks the feel of Skyrim or GTA 5 where you could spend hours of game time doing nothing. In many ways that is a good thing. This is the zombie apocalypse, wasting time watching TV or playing cards or golf would not make much sense.

The game is driven by the free running parkour mode, and its well done. Kyle can climb virtually anything although the game does have some glitches in that there are things that Kyle can't climb that it feels as if he should be able to. This glitch does not ruin the fun though. Its incredibly fun to free run, climb and jump through the streets of Harran. The main method of survival is to avoid fighting (although at some point you will eliminate a zombie horde by yourself with only a sword just for the fun of it) and many times it involves making very fast free running choices while moving at full speed. Make a mistake and Kyle is eaten by a horde of zombies or virals.

With all the good described so far and the sheer fun of being a wall climbing zombie killing machine it probably seems like the game deserves better than 7 out of 10 as a ranking. The reason for the lower ranking is that the story is limited and the ending is not as fulfilling as it should be. The writers attempted to create a powerful bond between Kyle and certain characters early in the story so that certain scenes would be more emotionally impactful later. It fails. The hoped for emotional link never occurs. The player just never gets really invested in the characters (say as in The Last of Us, with Ellie and Joel) to care or to have the plot twists leave an emotional impact. Certain characters, like Brecken, just seem incomplete.

The main villain is Rais. While diabolical and certainly evil incarnate, he won't be memorable as a video game character. His henchmen largely blur together. Rais as a villain, like the story, just falls a little short of being great. He falls into a wide category of good, but not great, video game villains.

The main premise of the story of itself, while decent, fails to be great, or even above average. Its a good story, with some predictable actions and behaviors by government and quasi government agencies. The story has the requisite plots twists and drives the action toward a final confrontation. The stories biggest failing though is the final confrontation. Without spoiling anything the final confrontation is simply lacking. From the players perspective and Kyle Crane's, the ending is satisfying, but the manner is not. From a story perspective lose ends are left. While the general ending is clear there are multiple significant lose ends are left untied for the player to fill in as they see fit.

Dying Light is a good game. Its above average and if MetaCritic allowed me to give half points it would get a 7.5. It is an enjoyable game with the depth and breadth expected of an open world game. The story is solid, the voice acting is ok, its not great but its not terrible. However its not a great game. Its not a great game because it falls short of what it attempts to be. The story, the villain, the hero, the attempt to grab the player and emotionally invest them in Jade, Rahim, Brecken, Kyle and make you feel for them, care about them and their plight, all falls a little short.

Dying Light will scare you. It will be intense. Your pulse will race. The zombie baby scene will creep you out, maybe for a couple days. The parkour free running is challenging and fun. Its worth the cost to own the game. Just don't expect it to be a GTA 5 or The Last of Us level game. Its a good second tier effort.

    Good Night/Good Luck

Then i got like two hours into it and suddenly it was just MUCH better for some reason (and i am not quite sure why). Maybe it was because that i had gotten better at parkour and fighting or maybe it was just because that i had figured out how to actually play it. Because the way to play Dying Light is to have fun. That is the reason to pick up this game. Not because of the story, not because of the gameplay but because it is fun and a little bit addictive sometimes. So should you pick up this game. If you're not tired of zombies and want to have fun, then yes. But if you expect an amazing plot and memorable characters, this is not where you should look. Then you should check out a game called "The last of us" (that is if haven't played it and you have a Playstation 3/4). But i will give this game an 8/10 cause of the high fun factor.

Another year, another zombie game, but how does Dying Light fare in this crowded genre? In this review I will give my opinions and ratings for the following: Gameplay, Story, Sound, Graphics, Last Impressions. This will be followed by final score for the game.

    Gameplay: 8/10
    - For the most part, the parkour system in Dying Light is actually done surprisingly well. There is a clear feeling of momentum and pretty much everything you'd expect to be able to climb, you can. The combat is good. Weapons have some weight to them, and chopping limbs off is fun for a while. With that being said, the gunplay in the game is poorly done and feels very overpowered. Once you get your hands on a gun of any sort, the game loses any suspenseful feeling it once had.

    Story: 6/10
    - A cliche, over the top story is what you expect in a zombie game in today's day and age, and that's exactly what Dying Light gives you. The story features countless characters that you won't care about, and a main villain that seems as though he's trying his hardest to imitate Vaas from Far Cry 3. The plot twists can be seen from a mile away and the ending gives no feelings of resolve or satisfaction.

    Sound: 7/10
    - Classic zombie game sounds here. Nothing special, but nothing to really complain about. Most voice acting is done well enough, though some is not so good. Weapons sound okay, and chopping apart a zombie sounds how you'd expect it to. No notable musical moments, not that you'd expect a musical going into a zombie game.

    Graphics: 9/10
    - This is one of the areas where the game shines. Graphics look excellent, and for the most part the game runs very fluidly. The views you get from the higher building tops (especially in the 2nd area) are marvelous. Zombie look gross as you'd want them to, and some of the ones you encounter can be quite terrifying at first. The day/night cycle looks really good.

    Last Impressions
    - Dying light is a good game, but no more than that. I played most of the game with a friend, and if it hadn't been for the co op, which is quite a bit of fun, I may have not even finished it. The game doesn't throw anything at you that you wouldn't expect (story wise and mechanically) but can still be some quick fun and is a good pick up and play game. This game gets a 7 from me, but that is based off of my co op experiences, when played alone I would give the game a 6.

    Final Score: 7/10

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I usually don't give any games a 10/10 as nothing is really ever perfect but I was very disapointed at how low some of the critic reviews were. The game definitely deserves higher than a 74. Some indie titles are getting high 80's and that blows my mind (OlliOlli2.......). Dying Light isn't the perfect game and at times can be a bit frustrating but I thoroughly enjoyed the I am Legend'esk experience. I remember the watch alarm first going off and I was way off from a safe zone trying to finish up a side quest. I actually got chill bumps thinking about the scene from I am Legend. It is undeniable they took many of the concepts from that movie but it worked fantastically for me. I love the atmosphere of the game, the story, and the at times hilarious ways to rid the city of the zombie menace. Truly a game I will remember among the sea of titles for years to come. Expand

If Mirror's Edge and Dead Island had a love child, she'd be named Dying Light. ThatIf Mirror's Edge and Dead Island had a love child, she'd be named Dying Light. With gorgeous graphics, great controls (depending on your ability to execute them) and a creepy atmosphere that had me unknowingly biting my tongue as night began to fall, you get an immersive, open-world Zombie apocalypse experience that transports in a way very few Zombie games (if any) have done before. That being said, if you've ever played Dead Island before you'll notice a few of Techland's and many other open-world developers clichéd approaches to storyline filler, most notably the infamous and incessant "fetch quests" that too often can pull one out the realism of what an open-world game should strive to achieve. You take it with a grain of salt as the overall experience is still spine-tinglingly immersive. However, in a real apocalypse scenario I would not be out scouring the world for crayons or coffee for people too frightened to venture out themselves. Sure you can just decide not to be the city's errand boy to a certain degree, but you're compelled to help for the rewards and you figure maybe you'll just randomly stumble upon these items anyway...so sure...I'll pick them up if I see them. The voice acting is pretty decent and the dynamic weather system and day/night cycle is a significant part of the backbone of the experience, hence the name "Dying Light". Rummaging through buildings and picking the locks of vehicles looking for supplies while contending with Zombies is a manageable experience, or racing for an air-drop trying to get it before the merciless gang of survivors beat you to it, while fun, is not particularly challenging. However hearing over the radio that night is falling advising you to find shelter adds a level of urgency and fear because once night falls you're screwed and the simplest of tasks becomes a fight for survival that you may not come out of. Some of the most enjoyable experiences were getting caught outside at night and finding a little shack or sewer pipe to hunker down in, crouching still with your light off while you hear the grunts and moans of Zombies around you outside, searching for a meal. Do they pass by your little hiding spot or do they happen to stumble in or spot you through a window, letting out a blood curdling scream and alerting every Zombie in the area of your presence, prompting you to either fight or run? It's all random so unless you've found a designated Safe House you never feel safe, which is great. The Parkour element brings open-world to a whole new level and it makes you realize that previous open-world games were not as "open" as we'd have liked them to be when you can't scale a building, jump from rooftop to rooftop reaching for a ledge to grab or eventually the use a grappling hook to essentially go where ever you like. The upgradeable weapon system is great too, but early on the weapons are weak and basic which I believe turned off a lot of gamers who played for a day or two and wanted their money back. I personally enjoy having to scrounge for a plank of wood and knocking a few heads back and forth, hoping it will last long enough to beat my foe. It adds to the realism and the need to be resourceful and inventive in your attacks. After a while though the weapons become more useful and the satisfaction from lopping a head off with one swipe of your machete, or severing the arm or hand of a Zombie as they reach out to grab you doesn't really get tiring. There is no limit to the damage you can inflict. This was apparent the first time I split one right down the middle. If you're out of weapons or just like being a bit more efficient and clever as opposed to the hack and slash, a simple firecracker thrown into an oil slick will attract your foes and light them up. With a 3 pronged ability system you begin to unlock other attacks and abilities which are also integral parts of your arsenal. Such as drop kicking a zombie into an array of hazards and impaling them on spikes and bent bars on windows that were once used to barricade survivors until the creatures inevitably broke through. Point is, you have options outside of your weapons. The online portion is enjoyable and adds a new element to the gameplay. Whether you team up with a few friends and battle the hoards, or take on the an invading player in the form of a super zombie it's a lot of fun. If you choose to "Be The Zombie" you'll enjoy a whole new upgradeable character, full of unlockable abilities to help you eradicate your human adversaries. Hunt them down, stalking them in the shadows while watching them with infrared vision. Let out a scream and watch their movement scramble taking satisfaction that you're getting in their heads, then pounce when the time is right. There's a lot to enjoy in this game, and if you can take the clichés and, at times, pointless fetch quests with a grain of salt you'll see that the pros definitely outweigh the cons and there is no other Zombie game out there like it. Far Cry meets The Last of Us, intriguing concept, yet very poorly executed! The combat is ridiculous and you die all the **** time! Now, some of you Mamma's boys living in her basement, may consider me a "noob", well I am a little bit. I have played over a hundred different games on all of the Playstations, but I sold my PS3 in 2009 one year after I had gotten it, for financial reasons, and I've only just gotten my PS4 last fall, and only got 6 games of completely different genres. Well, guess what, I didn't live during the NES era so I don't appreciate ridiculously hard games where I die all the time like the Angry Video Game Nerd. I appreciate games where I can chill and play pretend I'm God. Like InFAMOUS or Minecraft or WoW (yes the only two PC games I play). You do die in those games, but at least you don't loose your **** XP every time you die!!! The skills are all ridiculous, and not at all worth upgrading to, because you could easily play this game without upgrading, and yet have almost the exact same gameplay experience as if you hadn't. I appreciate games where you have to think a little bit before you react, in order to advance, but even when I do, if I'm surrounded by a zombie crowd of more than 4, I loose almost all my health and I have to constantly heal myself WITH A MEDKIT!!! The **** developers might as well not have put "food" in the game, because they only heal you for about 5 **** H **** P! The materials for a medkit is actually pretty scarce, so unless you want to roam the city for materials all day instead of completing missions, then good luck, because it's gonna take forever! You could buy them from the "shops" but even they've only got 1 medkit a day IF YOU'RE LUCKY! When you're not fighting zombies then you're fighting the bandits, and they are even more hardcore than the zombies, and ALWAYS IN PACKS OF 3 OR 4, you almost always have to use your molotovs on them and even then, every time there's always 2 that survives, and you have to hit them a million times before they die, and you still gotta watch out for zombies attacking you from behind... The shield doesn't matter, and I hate that you cannot have both your 1h weapons and shield active at the same time, instead of one of each. Don't even get me started on the 2h weapons and the laughable skill "upgrades" you can get from them. Oh, and the side quests... Are too **** LONG!!! They're called side quests for a reason Techland! You only have to complete ONE GIVEN TASK, on a side quest, but somehow you still have to complete 2 or 3 or FOUR whole tasks, running around from one end of the city to the next in order to finish them! And when you do finish one quest, then it's already night and you've got to go to your nearest safe spot, unless you want the super hardcore **** zombies to kill you instantly and chase you around. It's no use to "sneak around" them because even if you do, you never know if the slow lazy zombies are right next to you because of the P.O.V. and your poor flashlight. The day is too soon gone in this **** game, so it feels like you practically don't really have a choice between choosing day or night gameplay, which is **** up, especially since the developers think that 9:00 PM is NIGHT???!?! HAHAHA! Where on earth is 9 o'clock "night" unless it's winter time, which it clearly isn't supposed to be in Harran. I'm only like 36% in the story line and this is the first time I can honestly say I'm very tired and very close to giving up and putting it on my shelf, next to all the other games I've completed 100%, this early in and just spend my hard earned money on another game! This is just a big slap in the face, and I don't appreciate it! What ever happened to difficulties??? The quests, the game's telling you are "easy" or "medium" are more often than not as difficult as "hard", even the lock picking! You can't tell the difference. If game developers don't know about or the difference between difficulties and the joy of letting the GAMERS CHOOSE THEIR OWN BATTLES so to speak, then there is no hope for this industry that's becoming increasingly snobby and "artistic". And not in Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic or GTA or Assassin's Creed kind of way, but in the French art house movie kind of way. Please let my feedback be read by some of you developers so you don't **** your next game in the ass! Expand

Most objectives are those of a middle aged soccer mom running around town doing errands on foot because her minivan is in the shop. "Collect the crayons?" Really?!

Feels like I'm playing through the leveling-up process of an MMORPG without the reward of an endgame.
Oh yeah, there are zombies in it, though, so it automatically gets a 7+ score.

If only I could travel 10 or so years into the future to escape this mundane zombie game phase the world has fallen into.

The only reason I gave it a 2 instead of a 0 was the title. "Dying Light" is a great reflection of the mood of the game's weary denizens. Too bad the character development and plot didn't delve deeply enough into that theme.

The parkour system i find enjoyable just jumping around from roof to roof hacking and slashing each zombie you see. i particularly enjoy the game at night trying to avoid the Volatiles and running away when you realise your weapons are useless against them. I will go back and play the original Dead Island. It's my second favourite PS4 game to date as it really sets the bar high for future games in the zombie genre. Very well done Techland!

The second city is great, but so small it doesn't at all fell that fun to explore. The first had no really memorable places, except for the bridge. The story is rather mediocre and doesn't really seem to know where it wants to go until you begin to head out for the second city, and it only ever has slight flashes of interesting characters at certain points. And lets call the villain what he is. Okay. His dialogue is pretty awful, though he seems to be an over all interesting person. So this game is what it set out to be. A fun, open world, zombie sandbox game. Can't wait to compare it to Dead Island 2, which in my opinion, well have to do a lot to differentiate itself from Dying Light, a fun game with a lot of meaty substance. I didn't even mention the Co-Op functionality as well as the great fun of the VS. play as the infected mode. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I loved this game. I thought it was a great combination of Mirrors Edge Parkour gameplay and Dead Island with the Zombie Apocalypse build random stuff out of other random stuff. I was amazed on the graphics quality and the way the game handled. The down side is although the story line was great and easy to sink into it was met with bland ending of just an action sequence to finalize the game. I've seen too many games this day and age that giving you this huge rush of trying to get to the end to meet the final boss and the climax of the game ends up being near the low point. I definitely recommend this game to anyone who is looking for a great time and laughs with friends. Expand

You know a game's free running mechanic is good when you just want to forget about the campaign for a few hours, and run around the map, satisfyingly bashing zombies' heads in.

Don't play for story, play for online and first-person free run simulator.

The fighting system is pretty good, although some of the abilities you can unlock seem a bit overpowered and unrealistic, like the slide-kick which can outright kill two of Rais's men at once if timed correctly. The zombies are a danger at first but eventually even the scariest ones become easy to handle.

The story is fairly decent, side quests range from "cool!" to "meh..", character writing could have been better. Crafting seems a bit limited but at least it has a crafting system unlike some games. The thing I would have most liked to see is a more 'Fallout-style' character creator, with maybe some exclusive perks depending on character type or something.

I've gotten a lot of play-time out of this game though, and it's a lot of fun. 8/10 from me.

I dropped 59 on this garbage knowing it would suck. OK, so if you like to jump around like freakin spiderman and crack zombies in the dome with pieces of concrete on a pole, get this game and enjoy. For me, what makes zombie type games fun is the desperation, the lack of ammo and the struggle to survive with minimal supplies. This game has not sense of urgency, no semblance of a plot and no characters that are remotely interesting. You basically jump around rooftops, but not it a cool, graceful way like Assassins Creed or Batman, but just silly, cheesy motions that make you feel invincible. And I guess that's my problem, I don't think you should be a superhero in a zombie apocalypse. One final point here - the voice acting. Wow. It's worse - yes, worse, than Dead Island. Terrible sounding middle eastern stereotypes - and I'm just gonna say it and probably catch heat - I wish they sounded "American." That's my preference. If you found the accents in Dead Island annoying, you will want to mute your TV for Dying Light. What this game is NOT (and yes, I know it doesn't pretend to be) but it's NOT similar to , say The Last of Us, Resident Evil or even Dead Rising. So, say Left 4 Dead had a baby with Call of Duty, that would be Dying Light - with worse voice acting and lamer weapons. It's cheesy, did I mention the voice acting is terrible - and you're basically a superhero who only dies when you run into a huge crowd.
I give it a 6 because it's still worth $27 for trade in....

Dying light. A truly amazing game with so much content. The game itself looks gorgeous and the parkour system is absolutely fantastic. Dying light deserves a solid 9 rating. The reason being is because the story and the many clichés brings it down a little bit. Either way, an excellent game that I can't stop playing.

This game is a pleasant surprise. This is especially true after the fiasco that was Dead Island. This game is full of pros and cons, but the pros certainly outweigh the cons.

Pros - Character movement control: the parkour system and verticality make you feel like a total badass. As your jumping from building to building, avoiding the zombies sprinting after you and grabbing at your ankles just as you hoist yourself onto a roof is oh-so-satisfying. This system puts the subtle fear and subsequent "whew" moment back into a zombie game. As more and more zombies flock to you the more noise you make, you have to make the tactical decisions to stay and fight a little longer or GTFO by any means necessary!

    - Weapon customization / crafting: Options, options, and more options. You can make just about any classic zombie fighting weapon you can think of, and them some. All while able to add cool features like fire, electricity, and toxin to the weapon. Weapons will break after too much use if you don't fix them, making scavenging for more weapons a must. This only adds to the immersion that this game offers. However you can only repair items a certain number of times, which can be a little annoying, but it doesn't hinder gameplay.

    - Co-op: This game is at its best when you play with friends. Working together to take out large groups of zombies, or separating to accomplish missions at various points on the map gives the players a real sense of teamwork and need for each other. This is especially true when one player goes down and needs help. You can trade items you find and create all kinds of strategies to take on large zombies, big groups, or map hazards. Definitely play with a friend when you can.

    - Map / Environment: The map is huge. It can take 15 minutes sprinting and hurdling everything in your path without stopping to cross it. It is full of buildings, typical urban infrastructure, and environmental diversity. The graphics are not bad either. The other piece of this is the day night cycle. All too often when this is part of a game, the cycle feels too fast. "Day" lasts about 5 minutes in real time. That's just garbage. This one is much more solid and fair. Scavenging around during the day and keeping an eye on the time is a great mechanic and makes you feel a sense of urgency as you run out of daylight and the real "baddies' come out at night utterly destroy you. Get to a safe house!

Cons - Story: This is what plagues zombie games. It is laughable. No memorable characters, no surprise plot, and not that interesting of a bad guy (aside from the zombies).

    - Actual mission objectives: all of these feel like you're operating a switchboard. Go here and flip this switch, then go there and flip another switch. HOLY S*&%T this whole world is operated by switches! It gets a little annoying.

    - Lack of character customization: This one is pretty straight forward. You don't get to do anything to the character you play as aside from slap on painfully clothing sets. Some even have flags! Woot. Additionally you really never see your character from any other view than 1st person. It just doesn't allow you to get attached to who you are.

    - Lack of gun options: With lots of melee weapons, the devs just got lazy with the firepower options. there are a few skins for a pistol, and a few skins for a assault rifle, and that is pretty much it. I'd like to see more here.

All in all, you will have fun with this game. If is a fresh feeling to an old genre. Worth full price? yes, especially when playing with a friend. Pick this one up and go to town pulverizing some Z's!

It is better than Dead Island for sure and the parcours is pretty okay (even though it feels clumsy compared to Mirrors Edge f.e.). The fighting feels inaccurate you often find yourself in positions where you wish there were two attack modes where you could possibly decide in which direction your character is swinging his weapons. Sometimes it works fine but often you strike and don't hit anything because of the weapon swing being totally wrong in that moment.

Overall Dying Light is a pretty mediocre game. It is some sort of child between Far Cry and Dead Island and even though the first hours are quite fun the good feeling quickly disappears.

My experience with Dying Light has been an addictive, well rounded game mechanic with plenty to do. The XP upgrade system is excellent and worth pursuing, and the parkour style works really well in terms of it being a bit hard to master at first but then you can really start to rely on it once you understand it well. Visually the game is beautiful though I find skins a bit bland overall.

The only real gripe I have - and its a big one - is the story and voice acting. Terribly boring and predictable scenario and characters you meet. Their accents are all over the place (and not in an interesting/good way) it feels 'b' grade in that category. Its the kind of plot that feels deeply immature and dated for its lack of fresh personalities or decisions. I'd rate the game lower but I think it would do a huge injustice to the efforts put into the rest of the game which are top notch.

Also as I'm late to the game (few patches already implemented) I have found it to be glitch/bug free which was surprising given other reviewers reservations.

Highly recommended overall. Varied, addictive and fun.

With Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide still lingering in everyone's brain, Techland have created something quite spectacular. You take on the world of Harran, a city being overrun with zombies and mutants. The parkour aspect of the game is delivered very well, and can make getting to far away places exciting and fun.

Dying Light takes on a crafting system similar to Dead Island, where you have the ability to find blueprints to create special weapons and have the option to repair weapons to reuse. The NPC's in the game are also similar to those in Dead Island, all looking very similar and acting the same.

The game also draws some elements from Far Cry 4, with some characters and missions reminding me of the people of Kyrat. Although these are mostly good, one particular part of the game (towards the end) is a direct reference to Far Cry, which leaves you scratching your head in Dying Light, and having nothing to do with the game.

The story is surprisingly good for Dying Light, as I had no real expectations after Dead Island. Techland show their creative story telling side, and shine throughout the game with no real weak spots.

One gripe I have with the game is the difficulty at the start. I constantly found myself dying in encounters with a group of zombies while only having weak starter weapons. Also, your first encounter with bandits can be extremely painful if you don't have a solid plan and decent weapons. I found myself loosing my cool at these points and struggling to find a reason to get through the difficult stretches.
Once you finish the story though, the game and city of Harran truly open up to you. With great weapons and loads of abilities, I find myself extremely enjoying the end game, both day and night, probably more then I was during the story.

Dying Light's greatest strength though, is the day/night cycle. Surviving during the day while trying to find loot and leveling up your character is enjoyable, but when the sun goes down and the volatiles come out, the gameplay switches from run and kill to stealth and silence. A chase by a volatile is an extremely terrifying thing as you try to get to the nearest safe zone. The night time is infested with these creatures, while also spiking up the difficulty for the AI zombies. Techland knew this, and made night time double XP for kills, which can give you a reason to stay outside and fight. Once you see the sun rising, you feel a great sign of relief and accomplishment.

The multiplayer and Co-op is definitely worth a play as well. I found myself in tears of laughter playing with friends, as the game offers so much enjoyable moments when enjoyed together.

All in all, Dying Light is one of the best zombie games out there. With great graphics and visuals, a fluent parkour system, a terrifying day/night cycle and a surprisingly solid story, Dying Light is something to be enjoyed by most, and to feared by many.

I knew that dying light was a survival game but the weapons and guns, survivor skills, agility and fight upgrades, are useless. It works until you run and avoid the zombies or enemies , but if you try to face them and/or fight them is inevitable to die constantly because your weapons are useles, the bullets and guns are rare (the aiming system with R3 button is the most idiot thing I ever seen in a videogame), and when you die , your last experience points earned are reset, the game respawn randomly , and always away from the mission . The problem is that after the first missions, you have to fight and the game becomes frustrating and unplayable , your weapons immediately deteriorate , they do little damage , so during the missions you waste time looking around for other weapons . In terms of mechanics, the game feels like a cross between Dead Island and Assassin's Creed, while foregoing the weakness of both. In its beautiful open world, you hunt for loot, supplies, and a variety of mission types. The game has an incredibly palpable sense of environment, further enhanced by nighttime's elevated dangers. In addition the satisfying loot and parkour, there's also a really great character system. Just playing the game nets you points that you can use to further strengthen your zombie-slaying prowess.

While the game is by and large a great title, there are few things that I wish were improved or changed. For me, item durability seems a bit low and that trivializes most weapons for me. On the plus side, this makes you cherish your good weapons even more. There are also a few moments where the parkour can be a bit obtuse, just like my vocabulary.

So should you get this game if you're looking for some good zombie killing action? Absolutely. Quit reading my rant and buy it, son!

The story might not be super serious, but it still always push you forward in a fast pace, where you always feel like you want to know what was going to happen next. To give you an example (no spoilers, this is not the real story) you go on a mission, the mission ends with someone getting kidnapped. In the next mission you save the person after getting caught, tortured and having to escape through various dramatic scenes., And then the mission ends with a terrorist group placing a bomb in your base. You gotta save them before it's too late, everyone is screaming for you in the radio. RUN! The game always put up these cliffhangers so that you want to push forward in a fast pace. And I love it. Dying Light no question has gorgeous graphics from the beautiful sunsets to the well designed land marks; all aspects that helped shape Dying Lights diverse atmosphere.
Even when it rains it adds more fidelity to the game, DL detail is also surprisingly noteworthy to w/destruction of debris to the ability to venture through buildings, Techlands art & design team certainly did their job here.
Another cool instance is where you sometimes do a slow motion attack when hitting a critical slash which i thought was cool.
    + Great Atmosphere.
    + Epic Landmarks.
    9/10

    Sound/Music -
The SFX were great, the sound of weapons smashing into zombies was all to satisfying also the sound of crashing through a roof or ACTIVATING car traps were spot on.
Sound actually plays a big part in the game, using any gun or explosive is a risky move; which attracts all zombies in the vicinity.

Licensed music in the game would’ve been good, it’s unfortunate though the start screen music was the only noticeable piece of music i remembered in the game.
Voice casting wasn’t great but not bad either, actually it was just average; the voice actors weren’t bad but i think the poor script writing sure effected the voice acting here.
    - Average Voice Acting.
    + Spot On SFX.
    + SFX Importance.
    7/10

    Story/Characters -
The story is what lacks most for Dying Light, it is very mundane & short which is disappointing after presenting us w/this great open world experience.
Most characters were dull & i had NO INTEREST in the main protagonist Kyle Crane but the main antagonist Rais failed to impress me the most, his design seemed unoriginal & cliche.
The supporting cast was disappointing too & was probably worse; Rahim was annoying, Jade seemed more negligent then helpful & most of the other characters just seemed pointless to the story.
Despite all the above its the side missions that were interesting, they were fun & they SAVE the game from becoming a bore & even the side mission characters were more interesting and appealing.
    - Short & Predictable Story.
    - Lifeless Main Cast.
    + Great side missions.
    4/10

    Gameplay/Multiplayer -
Gameplay is highly addictive when it comes to killing zombies, the melee system is great & you have a fair amount of abilities at disposal for killing zombies which are quite pleasing thanks to the skill tree.
Sadly though i was disappointed with the gun variety & how they handle, i found myself hip firing instead of using ADS & the lack of variety in guns and top tier melee weapons disappoints too.
Blueprints keep the weapons fun though & there are some wicked mods in the game if you put time & effort into finding them.

The biggest major though is the parkour system; the parkour is really smooth and feels natural when leaping around and climbing.
You can do exciting things like leap from rooftop to rooftop too climbing a bridge & it gets even more intense at night when being chased which is very satisfying,

Multiplayer is also a lot of fun and is best played with friends making the story easy but enjoyable.
Everything can be done with friends except the end, quarantine zones & challenges are easier too.
Be a Zombie is a fun PvP feature but can be frustrating at times for both the hunter & the zombie.
    + Satisfying Melee System.
    + Fun Parkour.
    9/10

    Technical/AI -
I barely witnessed much frame rate drop, if so it didn’t effect my experience throughout my play throughs but there is a few problems like survivors getting stuck, the mission log not functioning well in co-op, all the little things that i witnessed throughout my gameplay.
The A.I. wasn’t too bad, Rais men were relatively smart and even zombie runners were unpredictable for a while but i’d say the AI works fine.
    + Steady Frame Rate.
+ Good A.I. 8/10 Trophies/Challenge/Replay Value - Trophies is bugged so be warned, as for the games difficulty it all depends on how you play overall. Its a moderately difficult game but if you’re playing w/friends then the game can be quite easy. The replay value is great & expected from a open world game, you have statues, notes and blueprints all to find and i easily spent 80+ hours on Dying Light. -/+ Easy Trophies. + Moderate difficulty. + Vast replay value. 7/10 Overall - This game is fun for any type of gamer, but if you really love your story driven games then this is not for you but if you are a Dead Island fan, love open world games, finding collectables and high action then this is a definite pick up for you. A great buy and definitely worth the MONEY despite the cons. Final Rating - 7.5/10

Core gameplay: "parkour", infuriating. i've fallen to death too many times due to clumsily implemented "parkour" mechanics.

Missions: frustrating. they all seem to revolve around the same thing: annoying the player to hell on how he should "get up there on that specific ledge" so he can finish the mission.

Crafting system is also a joke.

In short: Frustrating and annoying gameplay, Dead island was a better game than this, it at least had a fun factor. worst money i've spend on a game in years.

Dying Light is a very solid zombie-slashing/parkour game. The combat feels heavy and it feels great, and the awesome gore helps a lot with that. The parkour on the other hand is also good, but it could have a little bit more depth to it. Think "Mirror's Edge" and by that I mean the ability to pull your legs in while jumping, making it even more fluid. Also sidewall running would be kind of awesome.

Just think about, running sidewalls, jumping away and in the are land an axe in a zombies head and just run along, towards the horizon. It would simply be awesome. Now, don't misunderstand me - I think the parkour is great and adds variation and a feeling of freedom. And jumping around at night being chased by Volatiles is an awesome feeling that everyone should experience at least once.

I do however wish that all weapons would scale with your level. Because later in the game, you get access to katanas, machetes, picks etc but baseball bats, crowbars and hammers get a lot more rare, which takes away the creativity of killing and the usefulness of 50% of the blueprints (blueprints is an permanent upgrade to your weapon, for example electricity or toxic and fire).

And sure, they could have been more creative when it comes to sidequests, some sidequests are really fun in terms of the character(s) you will talk with, which adds a little bit of humour - which is a fine contrast to the otherwise morbid world. But the structure of most quests gets repetitive - but the totally awesome combat and parkour does a perfect job at making the quests either fun or solid.

And with this I conclude my review. The story is OK, nothing new, but nothing bad either. The graphics are fine, except for some parts; the water is not that good looking, but everything else look either very good or good! For the sound, there is no problem with it. You can hear skulls cracking, zombies screaming right behind you as you run for your lfe.

So, I definitely recommend this game to anyway that is looking for innovative zombie killing!

Without looking at my feet or checking in any way I knew instantly that I had only managed to get one foot onto the box because my body and head swayed in a way that instantly made sense to my brain, my characters arms went out for balance AND kept moving in a very realistic effort to maintain that balance, I looked down for conformation and did exclaim a "Ha!" when I saw that I was right but I had KNOWN it.
Realistic. Elegant. Special. And so I set off with that smile still firmly in place.
You will hear plenty about how there is "nothing new" in this game. What I don't hear enough of In reviews of this game is how the brilliant graphics, tremendous sound effects, terrific voice acting, fantastic animations/ mo-cap and amazing combat and movement all combine to make an experience that is a great big step ahead of any open world game so far. 1st or 3rd person zombie or otherwise.
Yes it might benefit from a more radical story or other ancillary improvements but the experience of this game, of the 90% of the time that you'll spend inside Harran is very, very impressive showing indeed. A great game. (And super fun!) congratulations Techland!

    In just a few words:
+ graphics are nice (runs smooth)
    + sound is good
+ parkours mechanics work better than Assassins Creed in my opinion
    - normal zombies are kinda boring and no challenge
    - battle system is very "dead-island"-ish (aka sloppy)

    Overall impression:
Fun, gory zombie splatter experience which just makes way more fun with a few friend around

I don't understand the hate for this game. It may not look as good as the FarCry series, but at least DL's open world is not littered with boring empty lands. Every place you run or climb doesn't feel repetitive, despite its similarly themed design (rusty shacks, zinc tops, etc.).

The quests are pretty standard for a game in this genre (run, fetch, deliver) and some of the side quests

The quests are pretty standard for a game in this genre (run, fetch, deliver) and some of the side quests are annoying (to save Nick Pesto you have to follow him to get his lady magazine and his skull ring? LOL) but that's where it doesn't get repetitive.

The mechanics are very easy to grasp, kinda like Mirror's Edge. The combat can be challenging and the enemy AI is pretty efficient; zombies and humans alike.

The unique selling point of this game; day and light cycles where super zombies come out to prey at night, isn't just a gimmick. You can skip the night, ONLY if you have access to a safe house when night comes. Sometimes though, you get so engrossed with the quests, that you mentally ignore the Tower's reminders on the comms and only start to panic when your watch beeps, indicating that it's time to haul ass. If you find yourself far away from any safe house, then well, Good Night...and Good Luck.

Coop mode heightens the thrills and suspense, and c'mon...it's just plain fun to bash zombies with friends!

Glad I chose this over Far Cry 4.

The open world is quite stunning to behold, from the atmospheric effects to the lighting and textures - everything looks lovely. Then at night time when the whole world changes it still looks great, the lighting effects really come into play here. On the gameplay front, it is not half bad - It really is a different game during the day and at night, the day time zombies are slow moving dimwitted things but at night, it is genuinely terrifying as you hear noises everywhere but are in complete pitch black darkness. More than once I found myself genuinely a bit scared and my heart racing as I ran back to the safety of a blue light.... The story and quests are OKAY, they're nothing extraordinary but it is nothing to shake your head at.

The only negatives are that the crafting and economy is a little frustrating at the beginning, particularly with weapons only being able to be repaired a limited number of times. The parkour can be controller smashingly frustrating at times - when you run and jump for a ledge only to find yourself smashing into a wall. The real gripe I have is the key layout and why on earth this cannot be changed for jumping and climbing... seriously annoying.

All in all probably the highest praise I could give Dying Light is to say that it reminds me a little bit of Far Cry 4. Give it a go if you like survival horror mixed with crafting and open worlds.

The graphics is simply stunning as you run and jump to avoid the zombies and to capture that sunrise while you run is simply breathtaking. As the sun sets you are once again blown away by the amazing and breathtaking sun set. But as the sun goes down and the day disappears you know you’re in for a very intense and terrifying night. Staying off the road and making sure not to be visible to zombies is extremely terrifying and intense as you run to safety in order to sleep the night away.

The controls take some time to get used to but once you are used to the controls they are easy to adapt to. The dialogue is terrible but it’s soon forgotten by the intense gameplay and the stunning visuals that form the all amazing dying light. For everyone who enjoys a survival horror game I highly recommend it this game is simply amazing and draws you right into the city of Harran.

The gameplay is captivating but I have found myself getting a bit bored after playing a few hours so a few breaks in between gameplay is not a bad decision but still this remains an excellent game and one I will remember and play for a long time to come

Dying Light is a very different type of zombie game, especially when compared to Techland's previous zombie franchise Dead Island. With Mirror's Edge inspired parkour, the climbing mechanics of Assassin's Creed, DeadDying Light is a very different type of zombie game, especially when compared to Techland's previous zombie franchise Dead Island. Ditching the campy over the top fun of those games, Dying Light goes for a more dark, dreary and serious take on the genre, while also taking many elements from other games. With Mirror's Edge inspired parkour, the climbing mechanics of Assassin's Creed, Dead Island like combat, exploration elements of Far Cry, and even some RPG elements from Fallout, Techland has created the most standout game in the zombie genre to date. However, that's not saying very much.

When it comes to the combat, it's largely reminiscent of Dead Island and Dead Rising. Weapons have a limited amount of uses before they break, and you can use blueprints to craft new and improved weapons using supplies you scavenge in the world. In the beginning of the game, you'll feel incredibly underpowered, with zombies feeling like sponges and humans that feel unfair and cheap. It forces you to use your resources intelligently in the beginning, and as you naturally progress and get more powerful, the moves and damage you can do feels like something you've earned from your struggles.

The gunplay doesn't fair as well as the melee unfortunately. Gunplay still isn't very refined, with a stiff iron sights mechanic and bullets that straight up miss what you're aiming at, gunplay falls short of the typical shooter. Luckily, the game usually doesn't require any real precision from you.

The parkour mechanics are fun, and climbing works very well. It takes a little getting used to, but you will get the hang of it, although I'll never understand why Techland thought a sprint meter was a good idea. Aside from that, you can scale most of anything, though there are some occasional inconsistencies. The grappling hook is also a cool add-on, if it weren't for the fact that it's auto lock is unreliable about half of the time. Overall, the sprinting is good enough that it actually makes me grateful that there's no fast travel.

There are a variety of zombies, including spitters, Titans, Virals (recently turned and still retain human semblances), giants with clubs, boomers and even screeching babies. None are exactly unique, but there's enough variety to stop it from getting stale. The scariest of them are definitely the volatiles, powerful zombies capable of parkour but incredibly weak to light, only appearing in dark places or at night.

Speaking of which, night is truly where this game comes into its own. More powerful zombies appear and at times your only choice is to run, but Techland smartly encourages you into going outside by doubling you XP. Fighting, running, and accomplishing goals all attribute to three primary bars of experience, with each having their own respective trees of skills and upgrades. At night, the amount of experience you get for doing all these actually tempts you to leave your safe zones.

The most impressive thing for me was this game's side content. Not only is there a massive amount of stuff to do outside of the main campaign, but all of it is well thought out and fun. There are multiple side quests which feel like their own self contained stories, consisting of multiple objectives and story arcs. There's quarantine zones which require you to enter 8 unique areas and pick up drops or clear out the zombies inside. There's even small things like air drops where you have to race to an crate full of supplies before any scavengers get to it. There's also safe zones where you have to seal off an area and clear the zombies inside, rewarding you with an area where you can sleep, store your items into a portable stash, and even respawn when you die. What's great is that all these quests have meaningful rewards which make you want to do them.

Dying in this game works like multiplayer, causing you to respawn at a checkpoint or safe zone without resetting any safe zone. The caviot is that dying causes you to lose all experience points you've been gaining since you last used them.

Overall, the story is pretty weak. Despite the amazing world and atmosphere, Dying Light fails to make you care about its people. Moments that are meant to have impact or meaning fall flat, the main villian is a cliched stereotype that only serves to annoy you, and the ending refuses to wrap up the story purely to sequel bait.

The worst thing about this game by far is the challenges. About half of them require you to accomplish insane objectives that the game doesn't even provide you the skills to do so. It's in these challenges where the game's mechanics are revealed, and they become huge rage fests. Admittedly, they are clearly multiplayer focused.

As much as I want to praise this game, I can't ignore the issues. Whenever the game is all about mindless fun, it's great, but whenever the game requires any skill, the mechanics in place do not provide that. Combine that with a weak narrative, and Dying Light is fun but not remarkable.

Even fully leveled up, you can sometimes find yourself in a pinch even with the lower level zombies.

They really created a fun world where you have the necessary tools to survive. Also the slightly campy story, filled with the John Carpenter style music, really sets a great tone for the overall experience. Then you have your day & night cycles, which create entire moods of their own both in tone and difficulty.

The main campaign is a solid length due to the fact that if you try to progress too soon, the missions may just be too hard to beat. It creates a need for you to explore and get in intense situations so that you can build your character.

I will admit, that sometimes the courier aspect of some of the missions was a bit tedious and a let down. However, all the moments in between more than make up for that shortcoming. Having a zombie player invade your game can also be an insanely tense experience during the in between moments.

If your looking for a fun game, with a fun world, this is definitely worth your $60.

Did I mention the games parkour mechanics are better than other parkour-based games like Mirror's edge or Assassin's Creed?

I hate the placement of the jump button, which goes against the norm, but then I noticed in another WB game I played recently that the controls looked like they were devised in the dark by a drunk. This seems to be an area that needs work in that developer's studio.
Anyway, the game will tax your skills most of the time, and some parts are really difficult if you haven't paid attention to scavenging and upgrading weapons/skills. On that note, having to pick locks in order to get the better pickups is really annoying, especially when you get swarmed by zombies as you are halfway through a pick. We could have done without the lock picking bit.
All in all, this is an absorbing game, with plenty of action, as you might expect, and should keep you entertained for many hours. Co-op is fun and helps in some of the more difficult parts too.

Then February came and i needed a game to play with a buddy and Dying Light offered Coop, so we bought the game, hoping it would be any good.
The last Game we bought wishing for a good coop experience was Destiny (while we both got to Level 28/29 eventually, we didn't bother playing the DLC, it's stupidly repetitive and the Story just isn't there).
So we started the game with low expectations and mediocre experience thanks to Destiny.
    And it was awesome.
The Coop was seamless, the Story was absolutely great (i mean, it's not the best Story i've ever heard but it's good no less), the Experience was phenomenal. I really LOVE the City and the immersion, the other characters - even if they might be a little stereotypical, but some are actually quite well drawn.

The first night brought my heart up to it's limits, and even after a couple of hours we started running like little chickens whenever the 1-hour-warning started.
    The overall Experience was awesome.
I've experienced the Save bug, so i had to replay three Sidequests as my game wasn't saved properly (which was fixed shortly after), so i've put about 40 hours in the game.
Yesterday we played the last story mission and eventually got a notification "you're about to start the final mission, it can only be played in singleplayer" and we both immediately said "oh wait, no! don't start" and started running as fast as we could.
We simply didn't want the game to end.
It's maybe the third or the fourth time i've experienced this feeling in a game (the last time was The Last of Us, another might be GTA Vice City - and i've played games for quite some time now).
    It's just good.
Yes some things are not perfect (the first DLC sucks), but it's a really solid game.
Best game on the PS4 so far.

I also don't like how the wepons degrade so fast and you either need to repair (if you have any repairs left) or craft a brand new wepon.

The map and everything is perfect though, the simplicity is great. Tells you where you need to go so you don't have to spend hours trying to figure that out like some games.

I would recommend this game, however, keep in mind that their are quite a few of exploit cheats, glitches, and even glitched trophys. You might want to rent it first from Gamefly or another rental service just to be sure you'll like it.

The day/night system is very fun. Night it pretty terrifying when you get ambushed by a group of zombies and being chased after and making it to a safe point is a blast. Within this system there is plenty to do from getting drops around the city, side missions for both day and night, and varying how the zombies react to the player based on the time of day.

Another awesome part of this game is the multiplayer. I usually coop with some of my friends and run around the city and just have a good time. I love the option to start challenges among friends from slaying the most enemies, collecting the most loot, or getting to a waypoint the fastest. The fact that two people can be cross map doing two different things is a great feature in this game. Watching other players use there customized weapons to mow down the horde is often fun and funny to watch. Also the Be A Zombie mode is a different and fun change of pace, but not as a blast as the coop (IMO).

I love the customization of the weapons. Adding mods and upgrades to any weapons are cool and really show when taking down enemies. I was a huge fan of this in Dead Island and I'm glad that the system to as, if not more, enjoyable in Dying Light.

This is game is great and I love playing it for hours, just taking down zombies, doing side missions, or playing the story. The story isn't the greatest in video game history, but the missions of the story are extremely fun and you have to make a plan sometimes is a good element that keeps the game fast-paced.

Sure, starting off the main character in Dying Light (Crane) is a bit under-powered, which makes fighting zombies real difficult. NEWSFLASH! It is supposed to be. :-) Part of what submerged me in this game is the realization that Crane is not a super soldier that blows everything up and puts fifty bullets into anything that moves. He is a survivor. He survives, not dominates. That being said, as you progress in the game you will experience the almost perfect skill tree system. Survivor, Agility, and power are what you can choose from and each category has (I think 20 or so) different skills to choose from. Survivor points are awarded mostly after completing story missions, and quests. Power points are awarded for each zombie, or goon killed. Agility (which is probably what I find most fun) is awarded by "parkouring" your way around the huge map called Harran. The parkour was the highlight for me. If you know what to look for, and you will after some play time, you can move seamlessly and almost effortlessly across village rooftops or highway car pileups. A lot of people are reminded of Mirrors edge when playing this game. I have never played mirrors edge so I cannot say I agree, but I will say that this is a MUST play. Techland out-did themselves. I tried and tried to get into the Dead Island games but i did not like them at all. I just didn't much like the overall "attitude" of the game. It was hard to take seriously, but this came has risen to my top 10 for sure. Give it a try. Expand

The combat system is interesting because it's not easy to hit your enemies (humans/special zombies).

Day-Night cycle is pretty awesome as you will never want to be caught outside at night because you will face some of the bad-ass super quick/strong zombies. One of the negative thing about this game is the re spawn system which will make you appear very far from where you died last time.

Dying Light features three distinct skill trees that level up based on the objectives the player completes, the amount of parkour one does, and how many enemies the player takes down. The skill trees were one of my favorite mechanics behind this game as everything contained within was of great use; I actually felt rewarded by leveling my character. The open world is huge, and separated into two distinct zones in which the player can travel back and forth. There is no fast travel in Dying Light, which I found added to the game. It meant that I had to learn the terrain so I could make my way around quickly and strategically which added a good deal of immersion to my experience. The day/night cycle were a good addition to the experience as well. During the night, the enemies are harder to escape and will chase you down usually resulting in death. The trade-off is that you get bonus experience towards your skills at night, which makes leveling up quicker. The story isn't bad either, but the one-dimensional characters aren't going to win any awards either. I played Dying Light on the PC and would say that it's worth playing. Expand

Numerous side missions within two large open mapsDying Light is probably the most detailed and ambitious open world zombie game I have seen. It properly captures a good mix of zombie fun with zombie fear along with satisfying combat and a rewarding looting systems complimented with a good crafting system. Additionally, the story may not have been too compelling, but was good nonetheless. Numerous side missions within two large open maps to explore allowed plenty of content and the how the game handled combat, creative, and evasive mechanics kept all that content varied and fresh.

I found its main story to be somewhat satisfying, there were some parts that shocked and amazed me. I actually enjoyed the main characters and the overall realistic and more serious tone of the story fit well with the game as a whole. Side missions became a very enjoyable part of the game; and the characters involved with them were are unique and I didn't feel like I was doing a chore, getting a reward, and moving on. Most of them had some extent of story to it which easily made up the fact that they were mainly errand boy missions; and the games many creative game mechanics allowed it to be very enjoyable as I could usually take a variety of approaches.

Creativity is especially encouraged; I could use a variety of movement abilities and combat abilities to combo together and execute some very enjoyable and satisfying moves. The games 3 skill trees allowed me to get more and more abilities that all added to the game as a whole. Ideas like zombie camouflage were plain genius to have while abilities like drop kick and grapple are among the funnest to do in combination with other abilities. I almost always found a new skill to spend a skill point on that would significantly change my play style or at least give me an ability that would make a difference whether in or out of combat. Some others include snapping necks, using zombies as a pole vault, tackling, throwing my weapon, among many abilities that would allow me to craft awesome equipment.

But the creativity doesn't stop there. A huge and overwhelming amount of weaponry allowed me to take up almost any combat style I felt like taking. And its not limited to just melee weapons, but various throw-able weapons like throwing stars, grenades, and Molotov. Not to mention guns, which seemed unfinished, but did not bother me one bit as I much preferred melee weaponry (which was not only funner but encouraged) and almost never used guns, but its good to see that the option to use them was there. The addition of weapon upgrades with elemental effects to both melee and thrown equipment created significantly more fun. These ideas really lived up to and surpassed the idea of creative brutality, not to mention many traps varied around the city. All these options gave me many tactical approaches that were so very satisfying to pull off.

Yet there is still more; craft-able equipment like riot shields (with elemental options), firecrackers, flares and others like grappling hooks and the oh so important UV flashlight all had a place in the game. Possibilities became endless, and the fact that some of these required blueprints only encouraged exploration around the map which further encouraged the games smooth movement system.

The two maps of Old Town and Harran were both very complimentary to the parkour system and the many various structures were located to allow and encourage smooth movement. Exploration was very fun as new areas felt fresh and the hunt for better loot, material, and blueprints fit well and did not at all feel like a farm fest.

Looting was a core mechanic and finding that new badass weapon was always a thrill for me and, although durability would seem like a problem, I always found a better, cooler weapon before it was even half broken. Looting was rewarding and the lock picking minigame made sense to me and I was perfectly content with it.

Combat feels and plays great. I've already mentioned many combat moves and there are many more still unmentioned. When I hit a zombie with a blunt weapon, it feels real, the sound gives a feel a realism and using sharp edged weapons are satisfying to use to dismember zombies.

Graphically, the game is beautiful, even the zombies are beautiful in their own way (except the Toads). The only bad thing about this is that the facial animations on characters are sometimes dull, but mainly on the non-important characters.

Zombies are as they should be: Dumb and slow, but very dangerous in numbers. Among the regular zombies are, however, many other zombie types that keep the challenges fresh and varied. one biter isn't a challenge and is rather a play doll I can enjoy messing with, 5-10 zombies will test my parkour and evasive moves, and 20-30 zombies is certain death.

    **Out of characters :(

Night time adds in a real scare factor that is executed wonderfully.

Multiplayer is VERY fun with friends and Be The Zombie is an AMAZING addition.

    This game is AWESOME!!!

No Spoilers!!! First, let me say this. If you're dying 5 times per mission, you need to up your skills. Don't blame the game because you're weak at FPS games. I rarely die in the game, and when I do, it's because I purposely bite off way more than I can chew. And even then, I usually come out on top. Be critical thinkers, people!!! Not just in videogames

Not just in videogames either.

You will so get your money's worth with this game. Hours and hours of gameplay. Also, I rarely start a game and think, man, I want to go back through this again. The controls take a minute to get used to, but when you do, you'll be flying around the city and slaughtering zombies in the process. I actually have been using a SCUF gaming controller for years and I have one for my xbox 360/One and for my ps4, so i was pretty bummed about the jump button placement because you spend so much money on a bada$$ controller but can't really use it. But that's the thing, with the way they mapped the controls, there is no better way to do it. But yeah the controls are perfect for the style of game.

The graphics are great, especially for the scale of the game. I won't ruin it for you, but if you like to kill some zombies, this game is for you. I am actually more into the rpg leveling elements myself.

That being said, the progression element of the game I feel is great. Again, I don't want to ruin anything for anyone that's why I'm being kind of vague. Let's put it this way. You will need to get better and better as the game goes on to survive in the city.

The story is pretty solid. I would say that the focus of what you're supposed to be enjoying in this game is there

So everyone who is thinking about buying this game, or is on the fence about it.........GO BUY IT!!!

Unless you have no skills. Then stay away from this game, and any other FPS style game worth playing lol

Great gameplay, i mean REALLY GOOD gameplay, but story is just so cliche and so heartless they could have just take it out and make it a coop survival game

Dying Light can be summed up in one sentence uttered by my wife: "It seems hard to make that boring." And I'll admit, it does seem difficult to make a game about a special forces operator during the zombie apocalypse boring, but somehow they've managed to do it. The other, more specific one line summation would be: Dead Island with parkour.

The other, more specific one line summation would be: Dead Island with parkour.

Dying Light starts off on a great note with a great opening cutscene and good opening scene, and goes down hill from there. It doesn't make me feel very good to say the highpoint of the game was the opening cutscene but it's true. Once I had control and was actually playing I was all hyped up and looking forward to what appeared to be a lengthy and immersive zombie survival game. And then...it just wasn't very fun.

I'm not a huge fan of parkour in games, or really platforming in general, but I can live with and it won't stop me from playing a game I otherwise enjoy. Dying Light's parkour, however, is frustrating and a bit arcane. Mission objectives will be above you with no path up to be found that left me jumping around trying to find a way up, only to discover some path that seemed completely unrealistic after a frustrated ten minutes. Not only can it be frustrating to get from point A to point B in a mission, but the missions themselves aren't very good. It's a game of fetch quests for the most part which left me having to force myself to do another mission.

The world itself is beautiful, and the game overall looks very nice. The voice acting isn't very well done and detracts from the game. I found the characters I was interacting with grating, and the story not very enthralling. Combat isn't very entertaining, and the crafting system wasn't overly inspiring.

I'll admit, I didn't finish the game, which for me is pretty rare. I tend to go for platinums in games, and feel bad about not finishing them. I tend to be someone who sticks with a game for a while. But I just couldn't with Dying Light. It just wasn't fun. I wanted to like the game. I liked the idea of the game. For two weeks I kept trying to play the game over and over, but it was a chore, and to me a game is meant to be fun. I know it's not the most in depth review, and there is more to write, but it would just be repeating "it's not very good" in different ways, which isn't fun to read.

I would recommend avoiding Dying Light altogether, though if you enjoyed the Dead Island series you might enjoy the game. I would still recommend, even then, waiting a month or two until the price drops and buying it on the cheap.

I did find the games controls a little difficult at first to get used to with the parkour element, but once I got the hang of it I am now flying through areas. What I found to be helpful is to stand on top of rooftops and plan out your path. If I had one complaint it's that as you start leveling up it starts making the game easier, I am a casual gamer though so this did not bother me so much as there are a ton of missions and side missions to keep you busy, and there are definitely still challenges. All in all if you enjoyed Dead Island I think you'll enjoy this game. Expand

I've just finished it in about 65 hours. It was a fun and fantastic trip. An awesome mixing between a way better Dead Island, Mirror's Edge and Far Cry. There are plenty of things to do, the gameplay is pretty smooth, the level design is brilliant, sound and musics are really nice, the graphics are pretty good, the crafting is a blast, the abilities you unlock rocks, the 1st map is great,I've just finished it in about 65 hours.
