    A sad disappointment, slightly worse than the 1st game in some areas and extremely worse in other ways. Constant bugs, brain dead AI, meaningless choices, worse combat mechanics, glitchy teleporting enemies, lazy fetch quests etc.. but the biggest sin is that it's not scary.. at all.. the 1st one was very scary especially at night.     i don't count the crash / freeze occured during my run... it"s a shame... Even cleaning the cache of the console doesn't work... i hate Technland, they're a bunch of thieves.

    This game just sucks, barely runs, enimies glitch in and out of frame and clip through solid objects, sound effects have a delayed reaction.

    Dying Light 2 brings shame to the good name of Dying Light, as Dying Light 1 was one of my personal favorite games with some of the best gameplay and weapons. Somehow Techland managed to downgrade the game, by releasing a product thats obviously unfinished, with bugs and glitches making the game unplayable, either its all characters and textures becoming grey, the infamous audio bug,Dying Light 2 brings shame to the good name of Dying Light, as Dying Light 1 was one of my personal favorite games with some of the best gameplay and weapons. Somehow Techland managed to downgrade the game, by releasing a product thats obviously unfinished, with bugs and glitches making the game unplayable, either its all characters and textures becoming grey, the infamous audio bug, dialogue skipping itself, I literally didn't experience one normal cutscene in the game, Let alone the game breaking bugs that eould literally have you restart the game. The story is so weak, badly written and the whole post apocalyptic setting feels extremely boring and unneeded, just because the last of us did it dont mean you have to as well. I replayed DL1 over 4 times over how much i loved it. But this here feels like a chore to finish only once. I honestly hope they fix it but i don't think its fixable and i sure hope DL2 doesn't kill the Dying Light IP because i wanna see Techland do better… Expand

    It's better and worse than the 1st game. Parkour is more fun, story is better, combat abilities are better, but the bugs and glitches make the game nearly unplayable. While fighting enemies the game randomly lags while doing parkour attacks. Enemies are sometimes grey skinned mannequin looking things. Enemies will freeze in place for several seconds after you hit them then re appear andIt's better and worse than the 1st game. Enemies will freeze in place for several seconds after you hit them then re appear and get a free hit on you, story dialogue is often muted. Sometimes I'll do several parkour jumps, rolls, falls etc.. with no sfx at all. Then roughly 20 seconds later I'll hear all the sounds that were supposed to play earlier while my character is just standing there. I'm currently on the final story mission and its skipping entire cutscenes.. Techland should be embarrassed… Expand

    This game runs like poop soup. The only thing consistent about it is that it crashes at least once or twice every game session (approx 2 hours). I play with friends that are on PS5 for this game, but I'm the only one that is kicked offline during gaming. Loading up takes about 3-5 minutes, so the crashing can ruin the gaming experience real quick. Not to mention that you have to sitThis game runs like poop soup.     The parkour is fun! Unfortunately that is where the fun begins and ends. Combat is awful, and not just because all weapons break, it's super glitchy

    Absolutely impossible to play this crap on playstation 4. Terrible graphics, sound, animation, a lot of problems, there is no fun playing this game and it's impossible! The plot is complete nonsense! It's better to go through the first part again with all the DLC and have fun again!

    This game could be good if it was organized better. Leaving the bugs aside for a moment, I am a completionist. I try to get most of the abilities and items as I get into the game, but I feel like the story is forcing me to leave huge amounts of content behind. There are no metro stations unlocked on my map for Old Viledor, so I cannot get back. "How do I go back?" is just one of the questions the game never answers, in addition to, How do I get to the military drops? Ive seen at least 2 where there is no way to get to the top of the building for the drop. I assume it is locked into a story quest, but no where does it say anything about that. You just waste your time running around a building looking for a way up, and there is none. There are a LOT of buildings like that. What is the use of an open world that I can't get to, and the game does not tell you it's locked?

    I keep getting the message inventory full, but under my inventory it does not display what I have too many items of, if there is a limit for each type of item, or if it's a global limit, what IS that limit? The settlement/facility/windmill thing is a complete mystery. WTF? How are they different, and why are they different? it seems windmills unlock items on the map, but maybe facilities do, too. It's just a jumbled mess. A lot of the time I feel overpowered compared to enemies, yet I am lacking most of the items needed to do the side quests. Im probably going to finish this stupid story mode I can't get into because im fruitlessly chasing upgrades that cannot be accomplished, with tons of content that I havent even touched. I've played 20 hours or so and feel like I wasted at least half of it trying to do things i am apparently forbidden to do in an "open world" game. The list of things to track in this game is endless, and the crafting is stupid. I need UV flashlights. Do I have what I need? Who the F knows?. infected parts (common, uncommon, rare, military tech, nightrunner hideouts , regular hideouts, facilities, checkpoints, windmills, metro stations, and many, MANY more. Make TWO different types at most, then let us fast travel to half of them. It is just a confused and jumbled mess.    … Expand

    Why is it the norm now for all video game companies to sell you a broken game now, and maybe they'll fix it later. This game is so buggy. Voices disappear along with subtitles. Falling through objects, compass disappearing while heading to objectives, roaming people of the faction you are allied with suddenly turning around and attacking you, and on and on.

    And why are they using the exact same main character voice actor from Dying Light 1 to voice a completely different main character?    … Expand

    No audio on 70% of interactions aswell as subtitles not showing. Couldn't continue even after reinstalling, traded in at the first opportunity.

    the problems I have are that every cutscene has a audio glitch where I can't hear them at all, the subtitles flash for a half of a second, this is very hard to manage with since this game is a "every choice matters" game.     I've never reviewed a game before but I was compelled to sign up and help to make sure nobody else wastes £50 on a broken game. Constant missing dialogue, glitches and crashing are what you have to look forward to here. AVOID!!!

    The graphics are OK, the sounds are OK, the gameplay..ehh..the story.. what story? It's as generic as it gets. The game is super glitchy and unfinished.     Is the game fun? Kind of? As long as you can make fun of it and just follow quests WITH A FRIEND. By yourself? Go play Days Gone or almost any other BETTER open world and/or zombie game.

The storyline is good and the sandbox gameplay is fun WHEN WORKING. that being said this game BARELY runs good at all. When I play with friends, gameplay audio is never synced up between all of us, someone is always getting caught in the death loop, and there is no cross-gen gameplay as of writing this review. Single player bugs are constant ranging from rendering issues to where i'm always falling through the map, audio and sub-titles issues that break the game and make you miss entire storyline segments, and of course the constant death loop. I'll fall through the map because of rendering, reload into the game and fall and die. repeat. This is unacceptable to gamers who purchase your game at full price and saying that we should be patient because a patch is on the way is a crock too. How about you delay the game so it can be polished of these game breaking bugs. oh wait, money comes first. Did no one play this game before it was released?? i would love to rate this game higher but i cannot accept the growing trend of releasing games first and fixing them later, for that it gets a 3. This is everything wrong with copy and paste, pad the fun with unlockable skill-tree nonsense, Ubisoft-energy game design in 2022. I found myself hanging in there hoping things would improve -- nah, it somehow manages to get even more boring. If you want a real kick in the ass game,Dull, uninspired and repetitive. I was a big fan of the original, but then again I didn't pay $60 for it.     1- There is a desync of the gameplay audio and the SFX are all gone. 2- No dialogue audio and no dialogue subtitles. 3- Aiden runs in fear with 2 voice acting even when a chase is over.     12 - playing with friends from the story mode doesn't work either, there is always an error, you have to restart the game.

    If you look at the whole game it is a complete ****

    The graphics are from the day before yesterday (look at comparisons to the first part, just the water).

    Here a company has not thought at all.

    I so wanted to like this game. And I should have loved it. When it works it is a really fun game, with some good mechanics, interesting day/night cycle of activities, some genuine "oh cr*p" moments.

    But ultimately I can't even give it a score above zero because it is broken. The number of times during combat the enemies all freeze, only for them to unfreeze a few seconds later and somehow    I so wanted to like this game. And I should have loved it. A lot of the parkour stuff doesn't register when u grab on to ledges and u just fall to ur death. The crafting sucks and the immunity meter or whatever u call it was such a lame thing to add on to the game. Really breaks ur immersion when ur looting a place and u have to run for ur life to some uv light. What a waste of 60 bucks. Almost as bad as cyberpunk 2077. I've already had to completely restart my game 2 times and I haven't even made it past the first mission at the Bazar because it won't let me talk to certain characters to progress the quest any further. Uninstalling and reinstalling it did absolutely nothing to remedy the situation. As it stands now the game is completely broken and unplayable. I want my 60 bucks back u lying sneak thieves of a gaming company. Promised the world and then delivered dog crap.… Expand

    bad game, can't be compared to masterpieces we have on ps4 such as Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, Death Stranding...but neither with other zombie games such as Days Gone or Resident Evil series. This game just sucks, it has nothing new to offer, it's repetitive and bugged. Wouldn't even accept it as a gift and have refunded it immediately

    -When the night arrives the color of the sky continue being day time.
    -You hit an npc, it freezes and then, without knowing, the zombie or renegade hit you.

    This plus all the errors and bugs presented in the past patches makes this game not enjoyable. I paid 60€ for this but I had to quit waiting to some dev fix this game.    … Expand

    This game is completely overridden with game breaking and loss of immersion bugs. 30 hours into the game, my friend and I received a glitch where we received Developer Quests and high level gear but it ruined the progression and maxed out certain things about the story... wtf!!! DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME UNTIL THEY FIX THIs

    I don't usually write reviews, but it's so bad I felt the need to. They recently patched 1.05 for PS4 and the audio and dialogue skipping is worse than it was at launch. For a story driven game, this is game breaking and unplayable. This is Cyberpunk levels of clownery and should be absolutely avoided at all costs.

    Dying Light 2 is a delightfully fast paced game, which has a few persistent issues bogging it down. Most issues have already started getting fixed, such as the audio bugs and auto save issues, but enemies being frozen in place and some quests having NPCs make odd choices still drags it down a bit. Still, even on the older console the game runs pretty great and load times are surprisingly not noticeable. The main story ramps up well with characters that matter and moments that vary from harrowing escapes to fun fights. Every moment of parkour is a treat, and combat does just well enough to stay out of the way, with a day/night cycle that varies, meaning there’s always something new to do. Here’s hoping those issues continue to get ironed out and leave the game to be what it’s best at, a harrowing fast-paced survival RPG with plenty to explore and loot.

    Developer Techland accumulates all they’ve learned from their action-horror catalog, delivering solidly fun zombie-slaying in this sequel. Its long-winded story may miss the mark in keeping you captivated, but the fun to be had more than makes up for that. And the PS4 version is a great option to play, running at very stable performances and maintaining very acceptable visual fidelity.
