    Doom 2016 really has a great gameplay loop, but there's a lot of fluff that dilutes what could've been a great game into just a good one.
    The obvious stuff is **** like being able to upgrade the doomslayer armor (which doesn't really affect gameplay that much, so it creates a situation where it isn't really impactful, but you still have to do it), the rune challenges, and the biggest    Doom 2016 really has a great gameplay loop, but there's a lot of fluff that dilutes what could've been a great game into just a good one.

Y en este caso el juego apuesta más por la acción rápida y directa, con decenas de demonios a la vez en pantalla para que los masacremos sin piedad con un arsenal de armas disponible, que nos resultará más que familiar si hemosExcelente videojuego.     Dos mecánicas principales, FPS de sentido clásico, rápido y frenético, gore y muy espectacular. Que nos obligará a utilizar nuestro arsenal de forma estratégica para poder con las hordas de demonios que nos van a atacar sin piedad. De forma más calmada, la exploración que se nos premia con items para mejorar la armadura o las armas, coleccionables o texto que nos explica el lore en niveles muy grandes y laberínticos.

    Se trata de un juego muy divertido, gráficamente cumplidor, recordemos que se trata de un juego de la generación anterior, con una historia simple, pero efectiva. No se necesita mucho más como excusa para masacrar demonios. El diseño de los enemigos y entornos es fiel al resto de los juegos de la saga y en definitiva es un juego must play si eres fan de los FPS. No olvidemos que Doom es uno de los títulos legendarios de este género.    … Expand

    I don't normally play fps games but I enjoyed this one so much I took doom1,2,64 to play it, it's very fun and a very good game I'm only sorry that the studio is stuck with a crap studio like bethesda

    I don't like FPS but this game is just astonishing. I have to admit it's kinda buggy, but the soundtrack and game play are on another level. This is definitely a must play game.

    I've played this on PC and PS4. For the PC version, I rated a perfect 10 because the keyboard and mouse are an extension of my mind. Console FPS is just more challenging. Movement is slower; aim assist is necessary. It's still a fantastic game.

    The gunplay, the enemies and the scenarios are great. Is really enjoyable to annihilate demons and make armor and weapons improvements. BUT this is only the 20-40% of the game. Most of time the game makes you go walking to get collectibles and to get yellow, red or blue cards to advance in the story. 20-40% of the game is great and 60-80% of the game is a walking simulator in hell.

    The super fast paced adrenaline fueled rampage alongside the superb and really fitting music blasting in your ears makes up for a great gameplay experience if you're into this kind of FPS.     I'd also like to add that I love the idea of demons being scared of the protagonist, that's a very nice twist on the genre.

    The story is quite bare bones and characters get very little in terms of development, but there is a bit of humour in there to spice things up.

    The arenas can make the game feel a bit less immersive and more "gamey" as well.

    2016. До нового Doom я обычно сильно нравящиеся мне FPS, и TPS проходил на максимальной сложности, увеличивая таким способом часы проведенные с игрой, но новый DooM это просто ЖЕСТЬ, на кошмаре 10 часов, пройдено лишь до первого нахождения пулемета, это буквально всего 3-4 битвы, не представляю сколько нужно затратить времени и усилий что бы одолеть PS4 версию на кошмаре, это самый сложный шутер в который я играл, вообще не уверен что осилю, сейчас возвращаться в этот АД как то психологически напряжно, а снижать сложность тоже не хочется, хз че делать. Wandering around lost with a map that tells you very little that I constantly had to open and close to find certain things (not sure why I can have a compass but not a minimap). Guns feel like they do nothing. If I get within two feet of the shield enemies I die instantly somehow.     I love Doom! The only game that never disappoints. Every single Doom game is the best. We, the Doom players want one thing. Senseless demon killing. No speaking, no drama... Nothing, but brutal killing. Classic! Doom is timeless classic, please never change that and stay that way!

    DOOM is an absolute blast to play! This game absolutely can change your taste in FPS after you play generic FPS games. This captures the Spirit of Old DOS Shooters and is a Easy Recommendation with its Strong Gameplay.

    A puzzle game where you have to think what to kill first in what way, using your resources with intelligence. Yes, that is Doom (2016). And the story bits that you find along the way are interesting enough and create a sense of madness and evil that impregnates every corner of Mars.

    Worst than Doom 3, a bit better than Doom II, and much much better than the awful Doom: Eternal.

    Wow, nunca había jugado un Doom y esta fue una más que notable puerta de entrada. Es un gran juego en todos los aspectos, pero claro, es que frente a Doom Eternal parece que se queda pequeño.

    It's a GOOD game! One of the most violently cool games i've played! The combat and the variety of weapons are excellent. The story on the other hand is poor and the game gets kind of reptitive.

    Just finally played this game after getting it for dirt cheap. I'm old enough that I came up on the original Doom games, so it was only natural that I'd eventually get around to playing this one.

    It was a good game, definitely very polished and had enough nods to the classic games to be nostalgic, while also giving you modern graphics and silky-smooth gunplay.     To me there wasn't much depth to the game. It's kill demons here and kill demons there. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as some games nowadays are too complicated for their own good. A game like Doom (2016) reminds you that good, mindless action can be just what you're looking for in a video game.

    There was a decent bit of weapon and character modding, but to me the gun mods seemed kind of forced. There was enough variety in the weapons themselves that I think the mods tended to be a little redundant and seemed unnecessary. The addition of a chainsaw was cool, and added some cool moments and animations, but was definitely OP. However, the scarcity of fuel (ammo) prevents you from abusing it.

    After all is said and done, I don't find myself wanting more since beating it. Therefore, I don't see myself playing Doom Eternal, as I'm sure it's more of the same formula.

    Overall, Doom (2016) was an entertaining play-through for me, especially at the bargains prices that this game can be had for in 2022.    … Expand

    Good game overall. Very short thought and with not much to do outside the main levels. Never played the originals. Its a very solid FPS and it has non stop action, but i cant stop feeling that this is like a PS2 game with great graphics.

    What came after this one stinks hard, but still. this gave new life to the franchise

    The combat is excellent. Such a sigma type of game. Enemy variety and level design is so well crafted. The story the game tries to tell is average but thats not the focus. The visuals are great however they feel the same for the majority of the game.

Куча различных брутальных добиваний в зависимости от того, с какой стороны подходить к врагу. Разнообразное количество врагов (каждый демон выглядит красиво, стильно), оружия и модификаций к ним. МожноОчень драйвовый, брутальный шутер от первого лица, таким каким Дум был в зарождении своей серии. Качающая музыка Мика Гордона, под которую крушишь демонов из преисподней заходит на все 200%. Куча различных брутальных добиваний в зависимости от того, с какой стороны подходить к врагу. Разнообразное количество врагов (каждый демон выглядит красиво, стильно), оружия и модификаций к ним. Можно также использовать руны и комбинировать. Добавили собирательство разных секретов и систему испытаний. Если всего этого мало, то добавили ещё и сюжет, причём довольно таки интересный. Dies großen Bossfights sind ebenfalls richtig gut gelungen und auch teilweise schön knackig. Gegen Ende kommen leider häufig Zeitstrecker-Aufgaben hinzu und manche Kämpfe ziehen sich in die Länge. Die Story wird gut erzählt und lässt einen amGerade in der Mitte des Spiels entwickelt Doom (2016) eine richtige Sogwirkung. Das Pacing, die Kämpfe die hämmernde Musik sind perfekt abgestimmt.     I've always liked the franchise, so it's no surprise that I've enjoyed this one too. Gameplay may end up being a bit repetitive, but it's rather enjoyable overall. The settings are also full of secrets, which slightly increases the length of the game. in any case, it is the online mode that will keep you playing for a long time if you want to continue with the game after beating the main campaign.

    Most overrated and boring shooter in recent memory. Combat has zero depth, has poor balancing considering 2 weapons supershotgun and guass cannon break the game and is mind numbing repetitive. I see people claim this game has good story which is absurd.

    This is by far the best first person shooter I've played. I don't care about all that boomer talk, this game manages to provide fun and challenge, progression and improvement like very few games out there do, especially FPS.

    A delicate and graceful dance of gore and death. As someone who more often than not gravitates towards stealth missions, turtling, and tactical plays, Doom is not that type of game. Doom wants you to arrive at the end of the level, covered in guts, by sparing naught even a hellish underling. It is a very structured FPS at heart, but not sacrificing fun and personability. Armed with anA delicate and graceful dance of gore and death. As someone who more often than not gravitates towards stealth missions, turtling, and tactical plays, Doom is not that type of game. Doom wants you to arrive at the end of the level, covered in guts, by sparing naught even a hellish underling. It is a very structured FPS at heart, but not sacrificing fun and personability. Armed with an extensive arsenal of weapons, you choose how you go about eviscerating, dismembering, or exploding demons in your permissive rage-filled steroidal man child tantrum. Choose a constant stream of plasma to eat holes through a Hell Baron, a well-timed rocket launcher blast for a triple kill of Imps, or remove a pesky Mancubus by resorting to chainsaw seppuku. The game is fun from front to back: one constant joy ride of a power trip.

    Gameplay is truly where the game excelled in my opinion. It is just darn fun to shoot. As God of War (2018) mastered the feeling of using the Leviathan axe, I genuinely felt powerful in Doom (2016). Any individual non-boss monster can be dispatched with ease, once the technique and machinery are obtained. The challenge lies in balancing the methods necessary once a single enemy spawns into a murderous multitude. No enemy is a bullet sponge, but thinking straight in a bullet storm is the challenge. In addition, no weapon feels unnecessary once another is unlocked, but each successive gun feels like a ladder rung towards domination and freedom of skill in the arena. A welcome surprise, never have thought I would enjoy not having to reload. Reflexively in the opening moments, I would press square to reload, not used to each weapon being a bottomless clip. While your total ammo reserve will certainly deplete, ammo is never too far off if clever. This streamlining serves to fuel the game to be faster and focus on what is fun, shooting.

    The story did not rank as high for me. It was not as compelling as others, but the characters were oh so cool. I wanted to keep moving forward just to hear another monologue from Samuel Hayden, the game's cybernetic deuteragonist. Doom Slayer is hilarious as well. In a current climate where games, meant to be fun, are forced to play serious roles and convey "meaning," Doom Slayer repeatedly breaks free from the voice telling him what to do. It's a welcome change.

    Amazing reboot! played it on Ps4 on 2016 but didnt hooked me at the time. Now that I own a Ps5 I gave it a shot at 4k 60FPS & its a blast to play. The gameplay mechanics are awesome. Loved that they left some storytelling elements pieced for those who want to dig deeper into the doom lore.     An amazing fast pace shooting game ,who is only downside is Boss fights, der is no better game if you just want to web and tar and have the ultimate power fantasy, the only bad thing I can say about the game is the boss fights and the environments, but everything else is good and I cannot recommend the game enough

    Me ha parecido increíble este juego, ha sido mi primer Doom y el estar reventando ejércitos del infierno sin parar con una música que te mete de lleno en la pelea, la ambientación y los detalles de cada rincón del juego está pulido hasta el mínimo detalle. Hay mucha variedad de armas y la campaña aunque sea un poco corta se hace muy rejugable con un montón de coleccionables y desafíos yMe ha parecido increíble este juego, ha sido mi primer Doom y el estar reventando ejércitos del infierno sin parar con una música que te mete de lleno en la pelea, la ambientación y los detalles de cada rincón del juego está pulido hasta el mínimo detalle.     Looking back on Doom 2016 I have good memories of it! It was one of the first games I bought for my PS4 (didn’t get one until 2017) & I was a relative virgin to FPS games at the time. But much like the generation that grew up as Doom & Wolfenstein popularized the genre, both series were here for me in the modern age to ease me into FPS mechanics that I always found disorienting before.Looking back on Doom 2016 I have good memories of it! It was one of the first games I bought for my PS4 (didn’t get one until 2017) & I was a relative virgin to FPS games at the time. But much like the generation that grew up as Doom & Wolfenstein popularized the genre, both series were here for me in the modern age to ease me into FPS mechanics that I always found disorienting before. Although in comparison to Doom Eternal.. it’s definitely been outshone as of now. Just in the moment to moment gameplay I think Eternal is a far better game (minus the platforming) although I liked the mysterious atmosphere of Doom 16 more. Oh, and Mick Gordon. Nuff said.… Expand

    This game doesn’t f*ck around! Use your baddass arsenal to slay demons! As you progress though the levels you are showered with hordes after hordes of different types of monsters, increasing the difficulty as it goes on; after killing the waves, exploration is pretty welcome as there is much to uncover with some cool items that really can make a difference gameplaywise.

    Those items are basically your upgrades “fees”, letting you maximize your health/ammo, giving you great passive effects and my favorite: weapon mods. The balance between the intense horde and exploration makes for an amazing experience and although the game is around 15 hours-long it does seem longer since there is no “downtime”.

    As expected from a Doom title, the game is pretty challenging. I played on the hard mode (Ultra-Violence) and I died a lot, especially at the beginning as my inventory was lacking and I was still learning the ins and outs of the game. As they advise you: standing still is death! So I changed the controls in a way I could jump with L1 making it for a much better fluid gameplay as I moved like crazy during fights.

    The ammo is something you must manage so changing weapons and using your entire arsenal is a necessity and very fun since the weapons are all great, very diverse and have their own niche of usage.

    Doom also reminds the lazy developers of other games how good music enhances the experience. The heavy metal it plays fits perfectly with the chaotic nature of the game and its gruesome fights; so much better than the current trend of having no music.

    As for the downsides: the game could use some puzzles despite finding keycards to open gates and there should be more bosses as there are only four, they are very challenging but they could use some work.

    Another thing that I don’t like is that sometimes the game arbitrarily halts your backtracking by closing a gate or something impeding you to 100% the level. I understand when it’s a cliff you can’t back up but random gates popping up are annoying.

    All in all Doom is an awesome testosterone filled game! No microtransactions, no downtime, no bullsh*t, just run‘n gun using your badd*ss arsenal to send demons back to the depths of hell!    … Expand

    I cant get enough of the revamped story they put in this game but I also love that the story is available to those who care about it and look into it. Everybody else can just kill demons and not be bothered. Speaking of killing demons, it's more fun to do than I ever imagined. Combat is visceral, fast and brutal. Every arena is a potential for a symphony of ripping and tearing. I haveI cant get enough of the revamped story they put in this game but I also love that the story is available to those who care about it and look into it.     I bought the game and i was hesitant to play it for some reason but i started playing it and i really enjoyed it and i thought i wouldn't. It was that good i even completed it to 100% and got the platinum trophy on ps4 which i rarely do and i only do that if i really enjoyed the game but anyway i cant wait to play doom eternal and its DLC.

    Great game, love it...old style shooter but with all the extras, weapon mods etc etc.
    For some reason it doesn't like my wireless controller though but works perfectly with my plug in

    Doom is a lot of fun and I enjoyed it the further I got into the game, but I dont nearly enjoy the game as much as other people seem to. But I can see why people do love Doom. The multiplayer is great and could have brought it up a point for me but now theirs almost no one playing and the lobbies are barely half filled. If I was their day 1 then the multiplayer could made the game better for me

    I play this game after seeing it was preised by everyone. I'm not an old fan. I didn't play the 90s ones yet I found it quite boring. Guess I was expecting some history behind instead of shooting and killing. Still a good game to pass the time and not having to think too much.

However the soundtrack is heavily praised by others so.. it must be good? For some at least.A tad short, however this game is fun from beginning right until the end, so im not complaining! Because this 2016 new take on DOOM is one heck of a blast, and slash, and carve, and smack, and you get the point. While the story is... not even sure really, you don't come here for that kind of thing. But the gameplay, enemies, weapons, abilities? Amazing!!!     Doom was promoted as a return to the series’ roots which means, as Doom was the original first person shooter, you would think that you’d be doing a lot of FPS. But man would you be wrong! Because Doom 2016 is more about platforming, corridor-running (without an enemy in sight) and what every game 2016 on needs, collectibles!!! These collectibles are not what you think they are, most areDoom was promoted as a return to the series’ roots which means, as Doom was the original first person shooter, you would think that you’d be doing a lot of FPS. But man would you be wrong! Because Doom 2016 is more about platforming, corridor-running (without an enemy in sight) and what every game 2016 on needs, collectibles!!! These collectibles are not what you think they are, most are absolutely necessary on higher difficulties because rather than an XP-system to get upgrades, the upgrades for armor and weapons come through these collectibles. As for the platforming, at most points it feels like you’re playing Mario or Mirror’s Edge as you will spend more time platforming than actually shooting; of which the shooting takes place in arena-like areas in levels, where 99% of the shooting takes places in your first-person ‘shooter’. As others have said, if I wanted platforming, I’d go play Mario.

    As for the weapons, which are your most used assets in an FPS, by mid-game the weapons start meshing together as you just start switching weapons based on which gun has ammo. Even the weapon mods don’t add much to weapon variety. During the shooting sections, most of the time you’re actually meleeing because the glory kills system you get from staggering enemies are required to get health drops to survive in combat so there is no real strategy besides charge, melee, charge, melee. Get ready to use that shotgun. There is no strategy to be found in Doom 2016. Also, the chainsaw has been turned into a Borderlands-esque ammo making machine, which requires fuel to operate and when used on higher ranking enemies, they will drop ammo like candy from a piñata at a party.

    Story-wise for all the hype that was put behind this story for redefining story in the single-player genre and how deep it was, the story is very much a throwaway that hardly exists in the background. The majority comes through codex pick-ups that you have to find and read and are not conveyed through characters or events. The main bad character has NO reasoning or explanation for why they did what they did throughout the campaign. The storyline is mainly stolen from Doom 3 and extremely watered down with no character development, no reason for these events or why the demons are invading. As for the times you go to Hell are ridiculous in comparison to the previous titles, it’s like you’re a welcome guest in the demons’ home, even though you’re supposed to be the most feared demon killer in history.

    Once you hit the halfway point the game turns into a slog as you just want the game to end. The boss battles, while they vary in gameplay and are sort of interesting in relation to everything else, they are quite boring when you look back after the fight is done as even the Cyber Demon (one of the main bosses in Doom original) is a pretty easy fight. You don’t feel like you went into a fight against a huge demon, more like you got into a tussle with a kitten. The end game is the worst part of all this as the whole game ‘wraps up’ without you even getting any answers or even having satisfying gameplay as the last boss battle is the easiest boss battle in the game, where the Hell Guardians and Cyber Demon at least had some sort of challenge. I guess it’s not surprising in a game where they turned Hell Knights, which were essentially mini-bosses in Doom 1, 2, and 3, are now killed in the hundreds with very little effort.

    This game is a rental if you want to try it, the campaign lasts maybe a max 10-12 hours, depending on difficulty, where most is you wandering the corridors for collectibles. For actual game and shooting, it’s about 4 hours. You won’t want to pick this game up ever again for the campaign, maybe only the arcade-mode. Play the original three Dooms if you want to have fun.    … Expand

    i've cleared Doom 2016 twice. its actions are so good and music is pretty nice but the story is not that exciting or interesting after all. i haven't got more stress with playing doom(2016) than doom eternal so i'd give a point more.

    A game that has been in my library for a few years now .Finally got around to it. Put about 30 hours in. Very good first person run and gun. The rune trophy glitched. If you like the game within the game ( trophies/achievements) be aware this trophy will glitch.

    The reboot of Doom encourages fast-paced, crazy, off-the-wall shooter combat. It does not force you to constantly hide behind walls like most shooting games do. Picking up items is as simple as moving over them. To speed the game up even more, they should allow the scenes to be skipped.

    I first play campaign and its perfect i never seen a action game like doom and later play the multiplayer its awesome you can be a demon!
    And i try the snapmap its the best thing i ever seen in games i play snapmap and make maps for 2 years and im still playing it basically its a perfect game.

    Literally my only complaint here keeping it from a 10 is that I just didn't feel any need to come back to this game when I was 100% done, despite how much fun I had playing through the main campaign the first time. It's intense-but-shallow fun, done very well. I feel like that was very specifically their aim, and they definitely hit the mark and made a great game by sticking to the point.    … Expand

    It's so different from original DOOM that at the beginning I felt confused. It's definitely intense, fast and full of action but also quite repetitive. I had fun, but not for long. It's probably more for multiplayer fans

    Such a long time waiting for a new DOOM game I waited this game since I was 12 years old and in 2016 THE NEW DOOM game was out and still the classic gore killing game what the fans and I always wanted and one of the best retro game I think on his own genre.

    The story is weak but who cares, its Doom. The guns are all extremely unique and have their own distinct uses, the demons are all designed extremely well and build on the older models, The level design and scale are great, and the violence is doom-esque. The multiplayer is dead, but who needs that with the super fun story mode. Great release, still holds up on next-gen consoles.

The game doesn't need a story, but it's got a bare bones one. The graphics are pretty good, same for the sounds. And then besides that you just go from boring open space to boring open space blasting the same demons that just constantly do the same **** there’s no set prices by the way or cut scenes, just demon set ups. I thought this would be better if they were more closed spaces like at the beginning. The best thing about the game was the boss fights, to which there’s only 3 and the last one I thought was boring compared to the cyber demon and the 2nd one which were pretty good and the funnest parts of the game by far. The visuals are nice but there just isn’t much variety to them, everything about the game is just so repetitive. So as for rebooting an old legendary franchise I suppose it’s a very good thing but it’s just that really, mostly just a big dumb run, jump and gun blow up demons romp. As for the multiplayer I’ve only played 2 matches which was just today and it was very slow and lackluster, especially the mode “warpath” (I think it’s called) but I was only playing on the beginner section, I didn’t get to play a demon also, but all of the new guns and equipment and playable demons you can eventually use look exciting, but besides this I’m sure I’ve heard very good things about the multiplayer. And besides all that I don’t know anything about snapmap and that’s all really.… Expand
