Feb 6, 2017For the target audience, Digimon World: Next Order is exactly what they would want from a Digimon game.
-
Feb 20, 2017Although there are some drawbacks to the game Digimon World Next Order is actually an engaging and fun game. If your a fan of the Digimon series and enjoy raising and evolving your Digimon then this game will be perfect for you. The idea of allowing the player two different Digimon at the same time was a good decision. The building and collecting is also very fun in this game. It’s worth a look if your a RPG fan.

Jan 27, 2017PS4 offers better and less outdated RPGs, but the charm of the digimon you can find is beyond any doubt. If tricky adventures don't scare you, give it a go.

Sep 11, 2017With solid JRPG gameplay and surprisingly accessible mechanics, I was shocked by how much I got out of my time with Digimon World: Next Order. I will say, however, that the game will probably be most appreciated by those with a strong affection for whimsical nonsense — two of the game’s main characters are a dignified kung-fu cat and a tiny caveman whose hair completely obscures his features, and the most bizarre transformation involved a spike-shelled walrus evolving into an axe-wielding Frankenstein. This is a solid game, but more than that, it’s a strange one, and that strangeness has to be played to be believed.

Feb 7, 2017Digimon's back, though it's probable only die hard fans will be truly ecstatic. The game's just a bit too repetitive for anyone else.
-
Feb 7, 2017While a robust digivolution system features plenty of layers to explore while raising your partner Digimon in a very faithful follow-up to the original, the lackluster battle system may hinder newcomers to the franchise from really enjoying Digimon World: Next Order.
-
Feb 5, 2017While the world is vast, it feels barren with an uneven difficulty.
-
Feb 1, 2017Digimon World: Next Order will please old and new fans alike. It offers a curious balance between RPG elements and the breeding of little, nice digital monsters; it's a rather peculiar mix, something that's not within the reach of everyone. If you love the original material and can ignore its flaws, you'll find something to meet your match.
-
Jan 31, 2017It takes a little too much to reward the player for its progresses, but it's a really enjoyable adventure for fans of the series. If you like the first Digimon World for PSX, you'll like this one.
-
Jan 30, 2017Digimon World: Next Order brings back the same gameplay of the original Digimon World, refining it in order to deliver a more streamlined experience for all the fans of the series.
-
Feb 15, 2017While nailing the look of the Digital World, Next Order does not do a great job in telling a strong narrative. Despite the repetitive nature of the game, it is very rewarding when your Digimon finally Digivolve into 1 of the 217 playable Digimon. Those more interested in training Digimon rather than playing through a story would be sure to enjoy Digimon World: Next Order.
-
Feb 22, 2017While deep and captivating on their own, Digimon World Next Order’s bloated mechanics step all over each other and make progressing through the game as a whole a stressful chore.
-
Feb 13, 2017Digimon World: Next Order offers a great amount of hours of entertainment, especially if for the fans of the franchise. A better combat system than previous intallments, but a very weak plot.
-
Feb 10, 2017Digimon World Next Order is a nice game in general. It just feels like it should've come out a few years earlier. The graphics are okay, but not special and the game frustrates from time to time. A must for the fans, but not the game for everyone else.
-
Feb 8, 2017Digimon World: Next Order is an interesting game. It is honestly is nothing like anything I have ever played before. The unconventional leveling system, the complex raising mechanic, and the passive battle system all take a while to get used to, and the first parts of the game can be a real difficult time for some, but in all, I think there is room for this game for many RPG fans out there. It’s not going to win any awards, but it is different enough to keep players on their toes and if you let the raising become an addiction to you, it can easily last you a very long time. I would say wait for a little price drop unless you’re a hardcore fan of Digimon.
-
Jan 30, 2017Its combat system and less deep story make this game worse than Cyber Sleuth.
-
Apr 10, 2017After Cyber Sleuth got our expectations real high, Digimon World: Next Order is crushed under those expectations. Although they are parts of two different series, Next Order still feels like an old and less fun game.
-
Feb 20, 2017One of the clearest examples of how a series can age badly. It offers highly monotonous and tedious gameplay that takes time to develop and arrive at the most important elements of the story. By the time you get to the best or most interesting sections, you will probably be annoyed by its repetitive mechanics and slower pace of development. Only diehard fans from the Digimon World series will have what it takes to endure and tolerate its flaws and value its well-hidden content.
-
Feb 16, 2017Digimon World Next Order has good raising mechanics for your monsters, but poor fights, poor story and poor graphics.
-
Feb 7, 2017Digimon World: Next Order makes it difficult for newcomers to get invested through repetitive grinding and a very slow pace. Despite this, fans can still savour the heart-warming pride of raising two Digimon friends.
-
Feb 6, 2017Developing and improving Digimons can be very engaging, but it's not enough. The combat system in Digimin World: Next Order is not really well-thought-out and the story is not interesting, even for a moment.
-
Feb 6, 2017Digimon World: Next Order is definitely a game for fans who are looking for a challenge. If you’ve always felt you had it in you to take your own Digimon partner and save the digital world, this is certainly a game you should check out. But, if you’re just looking for a new RPG that lets you fight with trained monsters, there are other options available that don’t require long hours before the payoff.
-
Mar 1, 2017The combination of Tamagotchi'esque gameplay and the adventure of a jrpg may sound interesting on paper, but in the actual game it is mainly feeling like doing chores.
-
Feb 23, 2017A dense and impenetrable creature-management simulation that relishes in gut-punching the player every time they make progress.
-
Feb 23, 2017Digimon World: Next Order is dated, empty and lacking, but with its addictive training mechanics and large variety of nostalgia-indusing digimon manages to - in some ways at least - charm old time fans of the universe.
-
Feb 20, 2017On a whole, Digimon World: Next Order isn’t a bad experience. It does take some time in order to get used to the flow of the game, and to deal with its irritations, but once you're there, you're in for what might potentially be a very addictive grind indeed.
