Jun 11, 2016Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth took me by surprise the same way the Digimon TV show did a little while back. The evolution/de-evolution mechanic, the Japanese voice track and the surprisingly mature and deep storyline were my favorite aspects, but the game really has almost no weakness or faults.
-
Mar 8, 2016Cyber Sleuth is a great game, and one I heartily recommend.
-
Feb 11, 2016After the Japanese release, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth comes to the occidental market for PS4 and PSVita. There are not many new features but the game is still solid, with a lot of creatures and huge narrative. It's a great JRPG with all the classic Digimon spirit.
-
Feb 11, 2016Cyber Sleuth is the best Digimon game in years, and most importantly: is not just for the fans of the franchise. If you are a JRPG enthusiast and need something to play until the release of Persona 5, or you just want something similar to the Pokémon series on a Sony system, this is a game that you have to get.
-
Aug 9, 2016Though Cyber Sleuth can get a bit grindy, the systems and the story that come with it are fascinating enough to keep you occupied for hours. This is the perfect grindgame for those long summer nights.
-
Mar 24, 2016Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is enjoyable both on the go or on your console, either way you're going to be transported back to a time where you had shouting matches over which Digimon could beat which Pokemon. The story and gameplay are a bit same-y to other properties out there, but its easy to look past considering how much fun it is.
-
Mar 1, 2016Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is a great JRPG with a nice plot, an enjoyable, old school turn-based battle system, beautiful art direction and a design that grants you the opportunity to catch many Digimons.
-
Feb 19, 2016Addictive monster-raising mechanics, fun turn-based combat and an intriguing take on cybercrime and hacking makes Digimon: Cyber Sleuth a stellar JRPG.
-
Feb 18, 2016Cyber Sleuth is a great RPG, no matter if you like Digimon or not. It has some really interesting features, and if you ever liked the franchise, you'll be surprise at how well it holds up.
-
Feb 16, 2016The overall aesthetic of the game is very impressive, and the Digimon look as amazing as ever.
-
Feb 13, 2016Easily one of the most addictive RPGs on the PS4, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth features an enjoyable story and a great setting for a fantastic monster raising system.
-
Feb 13, 2016Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is the shot that Digimon video games have long deserved.
-
Feb 13, 2016While the West may have been skipped over for much of the last decade with Digimon games, fans can rejoice over Bandai Namco's choice to localize Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, as they will find plenty of reasons to love this game with its nearly 250 different Digimon available.
-
Feb 11, 2016Cyber Sleuth is the ultimate Digimon game. If you're looking for a team formed by a certain creature, you're most likely going to have it at your disposal. Turn-based combat, a great recreation of the original monsters... certainly, a great game to have on your shelf.
-
Feb 8, 2016Cyber Sleuth evokes nostalgia while also pivoting in tone and setting for fans who have grown older. The disorienting lack of story direction in the first half is made up for when its mysteries finally come to light, and it makes Cyber Sleuth’s world a great one to spend hours training Digimon in.
-
Feb 17, 2016Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth celebrates the 15th anniversary of the beloved anime franchise in a big way. Most fans will enjoy the character and environment design that sometimes will take you to a Tokyo District and sometimes to a very deep digital world that must be rescued.
-
Feb 10, 2016Overall, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is a great turn-based RPG.
-
Feb 16, 2016After a bad season of adaptations into the world of video games, finally Bandai Namco and Media Vision have returned Akiyoshi Hongo's franchise to its rightful place in this industry.
-
Games Master UKApr 25, 2016Despite its flaws still inspires smiles of equal parts disbelief and joy. [Apr 2016, p.81]
-
Mar 6, 2016Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is an enjoyable and intricate role-playing experience that might entice both anime and traditional RPG lovers alike.
-
Mar 7, 2016There’s a really solid RPG under the monster collecting shell, and plenty to keep you occupied across dozens of hours.
-
Mar 4, 2016Cyber Sleuth varies wildly from dreadful stopgap fetch quests to mesmerizing bosses and character developments, but its heart remains constant.
-
Feb 29, 2016Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth is a great turn based RPG that successfully borrows from the best in the genre to deliver one of the best old school RPGs I’ve played in recent times.
-
Feb 24, 2016We could've done without the repetitive sidequests and annoying backtracking, but Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is still a decent, if somewhat unimaginative experience.
-
Feb 23, 2016A fun, mature entry in the Digimon series, let down by the verbose story and lack of challenge.
-
Feb 11, 2016A new entry for Digimon fans with lots of stuff to collect, battles to take care of and backgrounds to explore.
-
Feb 10, 2016Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth plays it safe in a lot of ways, but for many of you out there, that's going to be perfectly fine. Just don't expect it to convert you if you're sworn off the formula.
-
Feb 13, 2016It really is a jack of all trades, but master of none.
-
Feb 14, 2016Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is a nice RPG based on the popular anime/manga Japanese franchise. The gameplay is solid and enjoyable even if is quite traditional, there are lots of mission and 250 Digimon, but still feels like a Vita game running on the PS4.
-
May 13, 2016Cyber Sleuth doesn't reinvent the JRPG that comprises its core, but for a Digimon title, this is a solid step in the right direction.
-
Apr 12, 2016This is not a memorable game, but it is a gift for all the fans of Digimon, and its simple mechanics help to approach it to any kind of player. Its story becomes diffuse and you may lose the interest, but even with that it is pretty fun.
-
RPG SiteMar 29, 2016An easy recommendation for those who watched the anime back in the day and those who have kept up with the series.
-
Mar 2, 2016It’s still a halfway entertaining game and one of the better uses of the license.
-
Mar 2, 2016Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is a game that should greatly appeal to any who were fond of the series at any point in its history, and has plenty to offer to those unfamiliar with it.
-
Feb 23, 2016It’s another game of discovering magical creatures that do battle for you, but it feels modern and up to date, with decent graphics and has more mechanics than a broken down Bugatti.
-
Feb 22, 2016It doesn’t set new standards for the genre, nor is one of the best classic jrpgs around, but it does its job more than decently, especially if you’re a Digimon fan. The PS4 port could have been way better visually, though.
-
Feb 19, 2016Whether a returning fan or simply someone looking for a new roleplaying game to play, Cyber Sleuth caters to both parties. Although those familiar with the brand stand to gain more from this recent revival of the series, the gameplay systems are accessible for just about anyone. Still, despite its overall fun factor, Digimon Story isn’t exactly innovative, while also being hamstrung by a few niggling issues.
-
Feb 18, 2016I love the JRPG genre, and while the turn-based and slightly grindy nature of the combat likely will not bring new fans to the series, I found it comfortable and accessible to play.
-
Feb 16, 2016For the 15th anniversary and the first Digimon game to be released in the west in over seven years, the fans deserved better than the localization effort put forth here. Still, despite these issues, the core gameplay remains strong and stands as a fun game to play- just not to read.
-
Feb 10, 2016Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is a good RPG with solid gameplay mechanics and a strong identity.
-
Feb 7, 2016Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth isn’t a perfect video game interpretation of Bandai Namco’s long-running franchise, but it’s a huge step in the right direction for fans who have been waiting to see the series get on Pokémon’s level. The core gameplay is simple but addictive, making this a perfectly accessible jumping-on point for both casual and hardcore fans of RPGs and Digimon.
-
Feb 4, 2016It may not wow PS4 owners in terms of looks and mission structure, but there is plenty to be enjoyed here.
-
Feb 29, 2016A great RPG with an interesting backdrop and a ton of content, perfect for Digimon fans, with some issues that just can’t be overlooked for non-fans.
-
Feb 26, 2016There's a decent JRPG here, if just incredibly dull. Digimon fans will find plenty to enjoy, whereas casual observers of the series will probably be better off by picking another JRPG.
-
Feb 19, 2016There's no dancing around the fact that Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is a disappointment. Despite a pleasant art direction and a good representation of the digital monsters, the gameplay is unbalanced, the challenge for the player is basically non-existent, and the storyline is too verbose and full of clichés.
