overall, decent game. I got everything for 75 USD, a good deal. And I GRINDED and grinded till I was lvl 40 light 260. I've had the game for less than 48 hours and I'm already at lvl 32. All story missions are way below my character lvl and the story is incoherent at best, utterly meaningless at worst. All strikes are way below it too. There's no easy way of joining a team to do a raid. The crucible PvP is fun and feels like it's the main game. That say s a lot really

This game is graphically amazing, has some really fun game mechanics and enemies to fight. The only way you'll actually enjoy this game is if you play it with a good team, and it's fun when you play with the right people.

But I spent over a hundred dollars on the first part, and expected to have a complete game to play with my friends. But if you can't pay for it, you can't progress in game or with your friends. I've payed much less for much better games that are actually completed. I'm pissed at how much money they're making of it.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. If anyone wants an MMO to play with their friends there are much better games out there that don't leave you grinding for hours.

You accomplish nothing, like a dog chasing its own tail. Once you reach endgame, the game really starts to crumble. There is nothing left to do, but a few missions and more grinding. I played it but got bored with the lack of content.

Bungie/Activision had a vision. Destiny has so, so much potential. But greed spoke louder and killed what could have been on of the best games ever made.

It was a good ride. Time to move on.

The Taken King is definitely an improvement from the vanilla game but work is still needed. It was a great effort to avoid making people feel alienated by opening multiple routes to getting the highest level gear, you can do raids, strikes or even bounties for a shot at this stuff.

At this point, the game has become more suited to PvP players who play the Trials of Osiris or Iron Banner - The presence of unpredictable challenges as a way to keep the game fresh however PvE has experienced a massive drought for almost a half year which has seen many of my friends move away from the game. The content itself isn't bad but the quick lack of it is, and Bungie's inability to make this content prevalent/ not coming up with new ideas is taking the game downhill. The April Update definitely came as a refreshment but it wasn't a game changer.

I view the game positively because it has bought me into competitive PvP and helped me meet other gamers like myself, However if you are looking for a diversion here, it may or may not last you long. The Kings Fall is definitely a raid to try out but the Vault of Glass in the original game was such a good raid that I can only wait till September to see if the new raid outdoes the fantastic predecessor. 8/10.

The game isn't trying to be Halo or Warcraft but it certainly could take some cues from both games moving forward.
I was a late adopter to the Destiny series, not really getting into it until 2 months before TTK. The upgrade from Vanilla to TTK is staggering and really makes you wonder why Bungie didn't do some of these things earlier. While the gameplay is fairly tight, and the new enemies are easily the best in the game, there's still not enough variation in what you do. When you get through the inital 8 story missions that come with the game, and the few that are added afterwards, there's not alot else to do except go find hidden guns that may or may not have been released yet and replay all the missions you've already done before for the grind. The new Raid is easily the best in the game, even if some parts feel overextended to make it seem longer. But the matchmaking in the game is awful and with no in game chat system (everything is done on their website and through the playstation/xbox party channels) it feels like they are purposely dropping the ball on being able to get those things done.
I personally have found a great group of people to run stuff with but I can already tell this game won't hold my attention for much longer unless they spice things up with more content. And I'm not talking about the one day hidden gun quests that seem to crop up once a week. I'm looking for more story stuff to do and not have to play the same missions over and over again. I do enjoy my time immensely with the game and the people I play with but the light at the end of the tunnel is coming swiftly and I'm not sure Bungie can do enough to keep me from eventually falling off the edge of the world.

This is what should have been in the initial release of the game. A lot of the issues in the first year have been fixed, the UI is a bit more intuitive, the VA has improved, and the matchmaking works pretty well. The story mode has enough content to warrant it being called a single player campaign now, and the additional missions actually give more than a weekend's worth of things to do.This is what should have been in the initial release of the game. If you have already bought the game on release, you are getting screwed with the additional cost, but if you were waiting on picking the game up, it's worth the $60 (TTK + Base game package if available).

However, I was still able to look past it and enjoy The Taken King's massively improved gameplay. Way better firefights, less walking around the barren wasteland they call an open-world, and the best raid in Destiny (in my opinion).

I hated Destiny when it first came out, the only draw was its similarities to Halo. The Taken King has elevated the game to something I can actually play full time, like a lot of MMORPGs from a decade ago. The new subclasses are also a great addition, especially the warlock's. But thats about it, a fair expansion. I like the game mechanics in destiny, the shooting really feels right. The graphics are excellent and sometimes you want to throw a few hours in the crucible putting your skills to test against other players.

If this is destiny's plan for the next 10 years, then all i can say is good luck. If we can just expect expansions which make you grind heavily, repeating missions over and over again, hoping that the random drop bless you then its going to be an uphill battle for them. Yes there will always be a fan base, and destiny benefited in 2014 since there werent that many major games on ps4 at that time. But now they are going to struggle more with all the big releases coming out. We have already seen witcher 3, metal gear solid, fallout 4, black ops 3 (not a fan but its worthy to note due to its huge fan base and relevance). Soon other games will be out to compete with gamers play time. To name a few uncharted 4, starwars, the division, ghost recon, and many others.

Unfortunately for me I did and also owned the season pass because I'm a sucker to getting everything. The game in this case is incredibly addictive, and definitely up there with the most addictive of games I've ever played. However, Bungie know this and have continued to leech off of its fanbase and definitely not worth the £40 it costs to upgrade from year one. Level caps are very realistic, don't take particularly long to reach and with some lucky RNG could be a higher level in your first week than some people who have been playing since day one.

The game p**ses on its loyal fanbase, further enhanced with it's new micro-transactions. I'm not one to be anti micro-transaction as they're a choice but having time exclusive dances that require a larger top-up then necessary takes the biscuit. Again this is optional, but is still staring in the eyes of danger and isn't exactly showing a promising future for Bungie's new view on micro-transactions. The game also isn't rewarding in its PVP aspect, constantly rewarding the worst players on teams and still haven't fulfilled their promise since week one of Destiny to clamp down on PVP cheaters, to the level I've never experience on an online game before.

If you're looking to get addicted to a game and are ultimately a collector this is the perfect game for you. If you're going for a game that feels rewarding and worth putting time into, look elsewhere because this game is just one big grind.

It's very disappointing and I feel like I am being ripped off. I understand you need to make money to keep updates alive, servers on point and to pay employees, etc. I think more folks would have bought an expansion pack for 20. I think you lost a lot of fans for not making that available. It will hurt you in the long run. Can you make it up to us somehow!? Expand

Destiny is a grinding game. A very very good grinding game for those who love the grind. Destiny is a great shooter, it handles well and the gunplay is probably some of the best to be found. But that's to be expected given Bungie's history. It also looks good and has a good musical score.
The PVP is fun, there is a ton of maps and a number of game modes which make it fun to try.

Modelled as an FPS MMO hybrid, where it fell a little flat for me is on the PVE side. The story is fragmented at best and the expansion story is over pretty fast. There are a number of instances and "hard modes", but unfortunately for the raids there is no matchmaking system and no clan support in game. Which makes it tedious for the casual or average gamer to organize or join a 6 man team.

This unfortunately prevents the game from being a true great, but the potential is definitely there. Bungie is dedicated to the title and a 10 year run has been touted with expansions and sequels, so optimistic the best is yet to come.

AMAZING GAME!! A great FPS game. Graphics are good. The only problem is the game can feel really repetitive at time i feel like i'm doing the same thing every mission or at least something similar. But still when you play this game with a couple of your friends its AMAZING. It is one of the best games in 2015 hands down.

Es un gran juego, para jugadores que tengo un par de horas libres al día. Muy entretenido y siempre con retos por delante, aunque estos retos se basen en obtener armas o equipamiento. Ideal para hacer amigos nuevos.

Easily the best co-op FPS experience ever in my view. Let down by a lack of in-built ability to find people to play with. If only matching support was there for raids this would be a 10. Granted the SP campaign is a little dull for me co-op is where the action is at.

A boost to the story, as well as new sub-classes for each class, new missions and new raids, everything about The Taken King expands and improves on the lackluster original Destiny adventure.

The voice acting, particularly from Nathan Fillion, is much more charismatic and has much more energy than in the original 'story'. Though still not particularly fantastic, the story added by The Taken King is solid and provides incentive to keep playing on and on. The gameplay is still as flawless as ever, and the levelling system is much simpler now the better equipment you have will dictate how high your level is.

The lack of matchmaking when it comes to raids is still baffling. Raids are the best part of Destiny, and will provide a much more purposeful end game for everyone if matchmaking was there. In fact, the end game content is the only thing preventing The Taken King from getting higher than a 7.

All in all though, a huge improvement, with even more potential.

With that said the amount of issues I've had with Bungie over this month has gotten ridiculous. There have been outages three out of the last four weeks. With several outages happening during each week. I understand that updates are needed but there should be no need for this considering how much money they have put into this game and how much we have paid as gamers.

On top of the many updates and outages. The fact that one can't play offline is a terrible feature that should be changed. Also Bungie will kick you out of the middle of a game no matter where you're at without warning. Unless you subscribe to their twitter feed...

Overall with Destiny being an overall good game I would have given an 8. But since I can't play the game I paid money for because Bungie can't get their act together drops my overall score to a 3. Added points if the capability of playing offline is added. I'll give it another week or two and if things don't get better then I'm going to burn this game and never come back.

I have mixed emotions in this game.

The game play is great and there are more activities to do. I'm also glad that Bungie is starting to have some character development.

In the end, it gets boring after all of the useless grinding.

I would prefer better matchmaking, I don't have many friends that play and I think it would really benefit for a looking for group option. For the first time, Destiny feels like it’s complete. It’s not perfect, far from it in fact, and I still can’t entirely disagree when they speak of the package itself as bad. But I’ve also been unable to put it down for the past month I’ve played it.
