charging an extra $40-$80 for DLC that finally makes this a real game after the fans have already dropped $60-$120 for an unfinished rehash of the first game is beyond redeemable. the sad truth is if this had been DLC included with the season pass i shelled out for on day one , i probably would have bought the annual pass. i get that its expensive to develop and maintain games but if i paycharging an extra $40-$80 for DLC that finally makes this a real game after the fans have already dropped $60-$120 for an unfinished rehash of the first game is beyond redeemable. the sad truth is if this had been DLC included with the season pass i shelled out for on day one , i probably would have bought the annual pass. i get that its expensive to develop and maintain games but if i pay for a premium sandwich and you give me cold cuts and then try to charge me for bread a year later , i might not come back to your deli and i'm definitely not recommending it to any one. the die hards will shell out the cash for this and time will tell if its enough to keep the greed going or if bungie might learn something, sadly it will probably be the former. Balancing and adjusting things seems to be extremely hard for Bungie, everytime they do something it's always 1 step forward 2 step backwards. And best of all, they always say that they just listened the "fans", so basically just blaming destiny players for every bad choice they make. I guess only people who praise this DLC are those mindless destiny fanatics who keep buying and swallowing everything Bungie throws at them. I've played all dlc content since vanilla days (except warmind and osiris dlc) and by now i can see that there is no future in Destiny franchise. Expand

Work, work, work, you can't just play. This game has gone backwards with all these Bounties. You have to visit here and visit there to equip with Bounties to enhance XP before you play, that's stupid! just reward the player for playing. I shouldn't have to spend the first 10/15 minutes visiting Vendors just to get Bounties to enhance XP. Gear upgrading has become an issue as well. I findWork, work, work, you can't just play. Mediocre at best. Like every destiny release it lacks content. All bungie really cares about is the pvp side of the game. Two weeks into the game I’m ready to delete it off my hdd. Bungie needs to take lesson from blizzard on how to make a mmo .

It's totally ok for free play, a welcome change from the original expansion disaster. That said, the game just doesn't feel fun anymore. Most of the content feels close enough to the original to be a rehash and crucially, it feels like a sense of progress or closure is completely absent with the new implementation of the grind.

All sins from the past remain. Very small number of new items. Yes you can get them on different roll but still there is like 5 new armour sets per class. Same with the weapons. Another thing is that some of those stuff is locked behind quest that litterly makes you to play PVP and it is broken like hell. Even a gambit despite been fin to some extend is not free from bugs and errors.
A brand new Raid with already cut out content. After all something need to be added in to new expansions. Because unlike in D1 who needs new raid every DLC.
To me it is another cheap trick to rip a lot of money from us for as little effort as it can be.

Charging you full price for a half-assed experience since Destiny 1. Bungie is back at it with Forsaken, it isn't improved in the slightest. Traces of competency are around but overall the game's still a wet turd lacking any consistency.

Ive been playing Destiny since the beta for Destiny 1. I liked the direction the game was going when it ended and figured they would build upon that foundation for Destiny 2.

They didnt. Destiny 2 has been a disappointment is many ways, one of the biggest is the refusal to admit they picked the wrong team to develop the game. After an entire year of underwhelming....well
Ive been playing Destiny since the beta for Destiny 1. I liked the direction the game was going when it ended and figured they would build upon that foundation for Destiny 2.

    They didnt.

Destiny 2 has been a disappointment is many ways, one of the biggest is the refusal to admit they picked the wrong team to develop the game. After an entire year of underwhelming....well everything....they gave the same people the job of "saving" the game from the mistakes they made but still dont get.

Forsaken is merely the same poor foundation with new distractions. Destiny 2 will be remembered as a missed opportunity to cement the franchise's existence well into the next generation of consoles.....

I could go over the changes made around the margins to improve Forsaken over vanilla Destiny 2, but they are all minor, and many of them will probably be changed again.

They keep throwing the plate of spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks.....over and over.

The game is a mess of systems that no longer work together, and the game runners admit they have stopped worrying about it.

They still hide much of the best gear behind microtransactions....taking away their stats (but not perks) to pretend they are only selling cosmetics....but that isnt exactly true. The system has hurt the game from day one.

*SIGH*--- Destiny 2 Forsaken is what happens when you give incompetent leaders, millions of dollars, and a talented staff......there are some good ideas that give you hope that Destiny will succeed, but too many of the problems are baked into a foundation they refuse to change... and every DLC seems more like cut content than expansion plans.

Do not bother buying this unless Destiny is the only game you play. Its the same garbage they have been teasing us with for a year,---- but when the community is so starved for content, anything new seems amazing.....that will fade quickly....it does every time.

Its just more of the mediocre, poorly thought out, shotgun blast of sparkly distractions that has left me more disappointed after every content drop.

Add to that the appalling asking price and zero intention for the game but squeezing as many dollars out of the community as possible.....and i say

Stay away from Forsaken. Its an insult. It is an admission that Destiny 2 is never getting better.

There are just too many other games, more worth your time and money.

Play Spiderman, or Assassins Creed or Tomb Raider or Mega Man 11 or Valkyrie Chronicles 4 or Madden or NHL or 2K19.....or something new and different like 428:shibuya scramble

Just dont waste your time or money on Destiny 2.....ever again.

My only positive for this is it's story. The rest feels like a copy and paste of Destiny 1s the taken king with a coat of paint. Any progression demands hours of mind numbing grinding and any reward for this feels dissapointing

This game has potential, but Bungie is being very lax about fixing things and some of their ideas just lack all semblance of common sense. I would say wait for a fix before buying, but I have a feeling that day will never come. Don't fall for the trap that I did and buy a better game.

I cannot understand why Bungie create so bad campaign in the add-on. Epic starter trailer, when one of characters die, and after this MMO-gameplay (kill 25 mobs, kill 8 boss). Bungie, please, create story-only game. Halo is one of the best shooter in the world.

Decent story after an entire year and two expansions of PR Disaster
Too burned and too skeptical after two very lackluster DLC's
Competitive is no longer that because there is no defining line between the Elite and the average Joe
Sincerely disappointed with wanting more micro-transactions incoming

It is not a fun game in my opinion, and the graphics aren't great either. Also there is paid DLC (for a paid game..) I'd prefer Warframe personally. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Wow the only character in the destiny universe that people actually care about get killed off by a villain who has no personality or motives, the argument is that you have to read the lore, but should I have to read every bit of lore, buy every dlc buy every collectible, to even enjoy a game, that’s just terrible story telling, I shouldn’t have to spend ridiculous amounts of money to enjoy my gaming experience. This is how bungie follows up halo? How? How do they even stand by this game, it is the definition of lazy it has the same story as super Mario 3D land, so in conclusion if you really want a looter shooter to play with your friends just buy bo borderlands Expand

Bungie might've lost a portion of their player base for good, but for anyone that wishes to continue playing - or hop in now - Forsaken does a lot to fix Destiny 2, while forging its own identity.

The sequel’s best expansion by a distance. This update delivers a lively campaign that deserves to lure lapsed players back into the Fallen fold. [Issue#155, p.97]
