The storyline is redundant, same enemies just a bit different looking skins. Most of the new items are either re-skinned re-named or hidden behind boring and uninspired grind.

The mechanics implemented emphasize on massive monetization, meaning it is all about squeezing out even more money from the players. Bungie delivered a half baked story, poorly implemented just to get you items that are hidden behind a paywall of so called Eververse.

Aside from absolutely disgusting hidden XP Throttling that keeps you from earning level progression engrams and pushing you indirectly towards the real money loot box shop , or implementing not working game mechanics like three of coins that extract in game currency so called "shards" and resulting in a contrary negative effect to the random drop rate of exotic engrams it supposedly should "enhance". That extension is just a big blunder and scam.

As a person that played through Destiny 1 with all the extensions and saw how bad that company treats their loyal fan base. Dumping load after load of manure in their face, Destiny 2 and that expansion are a good example of how that cancer of greed, deceit and marketing new speak dumps an ever bigger and constantly growing load of crap on gamers. Forcing them to buy an extension because initially, they took away vanilla content players already bought with the main game and hiding it behind a paywall. Introducing items that are one time use (shaders) in the base game and dumping new versions of that shaders and still giving players super limited vault space that works against the main motivation of the game which is collecting items and sets of gear; or how about repeating errors and interface clutter that was already resolved in Destiny 1,or manipulating game play to the players disadvantage and deceiving them on screen just to hide the fraud underneath, and the list goes on and on and on. The multiplayer environment is sooooo bad and limited. bugged overpowered weapons, lagging and mismatching in crucible matches because Bungie now does not even show a players connection quality because of a peer to peer approach, and it goes on and on and on. You do yourself a great favor to just stay away from the base game and that hideous extension, because it seems there is no sign that Bungie will let that cash cow Eververse go. Just look into the forums and you tube. THAT GAME SUCKKKKKKS.

Just as I got settled, ready for more ... it was over. I found this to be really disappointing, especially as half of the missions took place in areas from the main game (iirc 4 in total, 2 on Mercury, 2 on planets from the core game). Due to the fact that one of my primary complaints about the core game is that the campaign was too short, this paid for DLC added pretty much absolutely nothing.

In addition to this, there are only a few more adventures, and only one Public Event on Mercury, which is tiny. Furthermore, for players who don't buy the DLC, they are locked out of a lot of content they had access to during the core game. It's an absolute travesty.

This is all surrounded by the fact that the content added to the ingame microtransaction store, Eververse, is huge, which shows what Bungie is really all about.

I'm a first time, and last time, Destiny player. Never buying another Bungie game again after this.

APPARENTLY IF YOU DON'T BUY THE DLC YOU CAN'T DO PRESTIGE RAID, PRESTIGE NIGHTFALL OR TRIALS. Seriously? Wow..... I don't know what to say. I mean especially for the PC Players this seems really unfair, and even for the console players, to be gated out of content they paid for and had access to. Just, wow. So I guess not buying DLC isn't an option anymore.... Extremely dissapointing.

BungiVision seem intent on keeping up with DiceEA in wanting to rip off and alienate their player base. Three months since vanilla Destiny 2 was released and they lock content and platinum trophy behind a paywall (expansion).

And said expansion is seriously lacking in a lot of areas.

    And the corporate greed continues.....

This is the worst Destiny DLC and quite honestly the worst video gaming experience I've ever had. It's short, repetitious to the extreme, filled with E grade writing and as per usual is Bungie reusing assets at its finest. This DLC completely put me off playing Destiny let alone ever buying DLC for it again (and I put 2000+ hours in Destiny 1!). Avoid this like the plague.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game should be called the Eververse expansion where Vanilla players are not allowed to play the end game content because they refused to pay the new "expansion".

The curse is nothing. There is no curse. It is all a lie created by the likes of Luke Smith and the rest of bungie employees.

The only redeemable quality of this game is the art direction, and the environments. Other than that, there is nothing to like about this game.

Bungie has completely missed the mark here. Even with the bundled "quality of life" changes they released with this "expansion" it is laughably barren and empty of anything worthwhile. All good-will Bungie earned from me in Destiny 1 is dead and gone. I may never play another Bungie title as long as I live and I am definitely done with this hollow shell of a game.

It's clear the end-game has been locked behind Eververse (loot-boxes). Our guardians have been nerfed into the ground. They took away all our items only to trickle them back to us as watered-down D2 versions.

The quality of life changes include a nerf to the shoulder-charge to prevent it from being used as mobility.

I played Destiny 1 the other day and the comparisons sum up Destiny 2. I'm disappointed and bored. A gorgeous game with amazing sound can't make up for everything we've lost.

I feel slow, weak, and mute. My guardian won't talk. My guardian can barely sprint anymore. My supers are weak. My subclasses are wet-noodles and constricting to choice. The armor is pointless and so are the mods.

This game is greed and hubris in a box.

The map is absolutely tiny and completely devoid of anything interesting. Also, the new character of Osiris is so flat and unemotional and kind of feels like a waste to save since he is never shown doing anything worthwhile. The final boss of the game is laughably bad and is just a slightly bigger version of a vex cyclops. I thought Destiny 2 would be a new beginning for this franchise, which I think has a lot of potentials, but this clearly shows that Bungie and Activision are not interested in fleshing out this universe and more interested in abusing the consumer's wallet, I Honestly might not ever again play a game set in this universe if Bungie continues down the path of this awful scheme. Add that to microtransactions being half of all of D2's content and man you get one dissatisfied consumer. Not to mention the plot and dialogue was just awful. $20, that is such a rip off, the new planet mercury is just 1 public event arena, that's it! you can walk across it in less than 30 seconds.

5 new story missions that all suck ass, the main bad guy is a robot with hands, and i have no idea what it was even doing, although the final boss fight was better than the Ghaul fight, but that's not saying much.
2 new strikes, which i **** you not are just story missions, such an insult.
they re-added heroic strikes from D1, but they forgot the modifiers, so they're pointless.
still no strike specific loot, no random weapon rolls.
the new public event in OK.
new lost sector is a joke.
3 new adventures which are pretty mediocre.
new raid, which is just another part of the old ****ty raid leviathan.
then best of all, if you don't buy this ****ty "expansion" you will be locked out of the nightfall, heroic strikes and the prestige raid.
all the new content worth getting, e.g. ships sparrows and ghosts, have all been locked behind a pay wall (lootboxes) and best of all, shaders are still single use.

This is more of the same, and the same was super boring. Don't' buy it. Not worth it. If you paid in advance for the season pass, you go ripped off. What is worth, Bungie's monetization is nearing EA levels of Evil. Hate it.

Bungie has entirely lost its storytelling ability. Osiris deserved so much more. Destiny's incredible lore deserves so much more. TTK was the only interesting campaign and storytelling done in all of Destiny so far. I have no faith in this dying iconic developer.

I'm not annoyed, I got a few hours of fun out of Destiny 2 with my mates, but honestly, this whole game is borderline scam, borderline No Man's Sky. Bungo have phoned in this entire game &this DLC is nothing but a cash-grab.

If you play games solely for music or art-styles, 100% grab it.

But if you play games for a challenge, problem solving, progression, engaging PvP, engaging PvE, story telling, collecting, grinding or just sitting back to blow some things up with inventive, powerful weapons. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME OR DLC.

You WILL regret it, you WILL feel bad & you SHOULD feel bad.

Literally made an account just to post this honest feedback about this DLC / game.

This DLC does nothing to fix the end game and I struggled to find a reason to keep playing after day one. Mercury fails as a social space having only one lost sector and one event. The Infinite Forest basically functions as a hallway to the actual adventure. I've never seen a DLC blow it this badly.

More attention was spent in their cosmetic loot boxes than the actual game content.
This DLC is laughable amount of "content" but is what most of the people that bought the deluxe edition has come to expect from this shoddy company.
    DO NOT BUY.

There is nothing sans the raid in this Expansion that deserves to be purchased, at least half of the "new" exotics are destiny 1 exotics, the new guns are reskins. The campaign is flat, does not expand on the lore that was missed out on in destiny 1.

All of the promises they touted in the trailers and announcements about "learning about the most infamous vanguard to date, Osiris" and "knowing more about the mysterious Vex" is complete and utter bullsh*t.

You learn absolutely nothing about those characters. In fact, I left with more questions than answers. In the entire "storyline", you speak directly with Osiris maybe once or twice, strike dialogue notwithstanding.

The characters are laughably bad. The dialogue is on par quality-wise with the rest of the game, i.e. juvenile and 1-dimensional.

You also get a couple new weapons and one or two armor sets that you can earn through gameplay. But worry not! The Eververse stock has been expanded by a huge number of items! Hope you like your lootboxes!

I would go as far as to not recommend buying ANYTHING else from Bungie ever again, or at least until they pull their sh*t together. They do not deserve your time and money.

If you bought this mini-expansion and enjoyed it, i am really happy for you. I believe that you represent 1% of the Destiny players.

I bought the DLC as preorder, cause at that stage I wa not in the endgame and had no idea. This is really now the case and right after release of the DLC and finding out who empty it is, I asked for refund. The answer was that I can only ask for a refund 72 hours after the purchase.

Really? Thanks a lot for nothing. I could not even try the DLC 72 hours after I bought it, cause it was not available.

Thanks for nothing, and goodby Bungie. You have created some decent games, Destiny 2 is not in this order and I will turn away from you.

This was their answer to the lack of content in Destiny 2? A DLC that was painfully obvious that it was finished before the game released and should have been available at launch. More reskinned gear and enemies and the story was pretty much the same as RoI. The “Infinite Forest” is just an overhyped interactive loading screen, and the endgame is STILL non-existent. Do not buy.

Unless you’ve already bought this as part of a season pass, don’t waste your money on Curse of Osiris until Bungie actually changes direction, and I’m not talking about executing their proposed changes which painfully miss the mark yet again. The base game of Destiny 2 is a great shooter for 50-60 hours of solid content on your first play through of a redemptive story. But there is no endgame to keep going beyond that and there isn’t anything packaged into this DLC than enhances that initial experience. At this point, if you’re desperate for a looter/shooter then either fire up Destiny 1 again, watch Anthem videos on YouTube and hope for a brighter Q4 2018, or else maybe go give the Division a chance. It had a dumpster fire launch but can be had on the cheap now and I hear it’s become a very good game in its current state.
