    This game is awesome. The graphics are beautiful. The story is engaging and very interesting with a fascinating message. Lastly, the gameplay is fun and challenging (especially on hard). Five minutes playing this game and you will realize how much was put into it and how expansive it is, Five hours and you will be blown away. There is plenty of action and adventure as you progress through it but there are also moments of calm and thoughtfulness. It is extremely challenging at times and extremely rewarding at others.

    Many (but certainly not all) of the people giving negative reviews seem to be hating hardcore on Kojima rather than the the game itself. Many obviously haven't played more than a few hours (or at all :/), and as such, are probably not the best people to listen to.

    I can understand how one might be disappointed if they were expecting a Metal Gear Solid clone, which I think is why many people are disliking it. They were expecting another MGS like game, while in reality, DS is much much more. It is a different game entirely, and they shouldn't be "hating" just because they failed to realize this.

    For anyone who gives this game 0/10 are either salty xbox followers jealous of PlayStations excellent exclusives just because their favoured console has been dead in the water for the past 3 years...or they haven't even played the game calling it a delivery man simulator when it has much more depth than that.     I played the game for about 8 hours and I'm very satisfied with that game. It is a typical Hideo Kojima game so it is not for everyone.

    The game is simply amazing, but it’d be more of a 9. I’m voting 10 to outweigh all the pointless hate of people who haven’t even tried the damn game. Traversing the environment is challenging, fun and relaxing (when you’re not being chased by MULEs or BTs). There’s something so magical about climbing a mountain and hearing a song kick in. Narration is off the charts but it’s a Kojima game,The game is simply amazing, but it’d be more of a 9.     È come lo era già stato MGS5 un ibrido tra film e videogame. Il gioco va accolto nel proprio mondo videoludico con la giusta sensibilità: può non piacere ovviamente, se la propria sensibilità è "Fortnite è il meglio" ma il videogame come forma d'arte è anche e sopratutto proprio Death Stranding.

    Who knew delivering packages all alone in a wasteland could be fun? This game is beautiful with amazing visuals and voice acting. Some of the repeated visuals can get boring after a while. You can only watch a man shower and pee so many times in a day before it gets old.

    This game is about the journey and doing your part to make the world a better place. The sense of accomplishment when you get your destination and connect new cities is amazing. I also find myself creating structures purely in the hopes someone else might find them useful.

    While battle is not a huge focus in this game, it is present. The focus is on sneaking, running, and non lethal solutions. I find myself holding my breath as my character does, my heart beating like a racehorse as I try to sneak around. The peaceful moments in between are made sweeter by the enemy encounters.

    The story is 100% Kohima, so I expect I will never fully understand, but reading and watching the optional lore helps immensely.    … Expand

    First I must say, this game is not for everyone. Because Kojima made a really orijinal and different game. I'm not saying that for humiliate. This game is a cargo simulator (and that's why a lot of people didn't like that) and nearly %75 of this game making delivery. But for me the atmosphere, the musics, the story, the world even the walking... It got me in this world. It was a reallyFirst I must say, this game is not for everyone. Because Kojima made a really orijinal and different game. I'm not saying that for humiliate. I can't guarantee that you will like it (or maybe hate it) but like I, said this game has the most original story, mechanichs, world and gameplay in the last five years. And I think everybody must appreciate Kojima and Kojima Productions because making this game is a really big risk. It's not a indie game it's a AAA game. And this generation the studios and companies like Activision, EA and Ubisoft this is revalutionary and different. Because of that If you like it or if you don't like it, it doesn't matter everybody must support it.     Death Stranding is a very strange game. I’m fascinated by it but I’m not at all sure that I actually like playing it. It’s not just that it isn’t fun. It often feels like a chore, like the game is doing its level best to keep you from having a good time.

    O Jogo entrega tudo que foi pedido, e até mais, realmente o jogo não é pra todos. Ele tem que ter paciência, mais mesmo assim a dinâmica fica envolvente e cativante durante o desenvolvimento do jogo, você fica querendo ir mais profundo, e saber oque vai acontecer ao o rumo da história. Recomendo.

    Don't understand people who write "Game is garbage" or "It's not even a video-game". I have already played about 7 hours and can definitely say: THIS. IS. AMAZING. This relaxing and calm world gives you a deeper feeling of the whole world and its catastrophe. I can write a lot about cutscenes settings, but I will describe it with only one word: GENIUS

    A sensação de jogar esse game é muito boa! E o enredo é sensacional. E dá pra entender o porquê do jogo ser lento, porém só jogando pra saber. Eu tinha dúvidas se ia gostar e hoje eu nem vejo o tempo passar quando estou jogando DS. Kojima é muito gênio, sim!!

    Game with big G. Amazing world with beautiful graphic. Perfect performace on ps4. Everything is smooth. This game is not only about delivering. Is there fighting, creating, driving. There is only one (-) quite silly story. I like this idea but story is too much crazy let say silly.

    at first i found this game boring with all the deliveries to make, to go from point A to point B rince and repeat.
    But after finishing the game, i get why the progression had to be this way. I'm on my 2nd playthrough and this game possibilities becomes more and more infinite.
    This game is awesome, what i was expecting from the Metal Gear Saga creator.

    Just as many games do not need a complex plot, DS does not need much action to be a special game .... I love the world created by Hideo and I think it is already a memorable work.

    This is the best game I have played this generation. Yes, it starts slow and has plenty of cut scenes. If you play it through it will win you over. If you are on the fence about it. Rent it and give it a shot.

    After 100hours in I can safely say this game is great. The ending was cool, it gave more answers than I thought it would.

    The core story itself isn't very special. But the world we get to play in and how it handles supernatual, felt new and entertainig. The terrain was a more intelligent enemy than the AI in most of today's shooters. Yes you'll be hauling stuff all around the map. But    After 100hours in I can safely say this game is great. The ending was cool, it gave more answers than I thought it would.

    The core story itself isn't very special. But the world we get to play in and how it handles supernatual, felt new and entertainig.

    The terrain was a more intelligent enemy than the AI in most of today's shooters.

    Yes you'll be hauling stuff all around the map. But planning your hauls and rebuliding the infrastructure, creating paths for you and others is awesome! I don't like Kojima and I wanted to hate this game, but in fact it worths every penny.

    Indeed you have to get through the first 5hours to really get things going. It's a lot. But until the very end it'll be a game and not a movie like others stated.

    TBH most games you get to play today are repetitive, and delivering things from A to B over hard terrain is refreshing compared to murdering braindead badguys at point A or B.

    -2 points for invisible walls and the few and bad fashion elements.    … Expand

This is the first open world game I have ever completed and trust me, I have tryed many others, and also worked for one of the largest game studio that produces some of the most popular open world games on the market. The story kept me in it, BTs, the ghost like entities that pervade the world, are a good kind of scary and I really enjoyed encounters with them. The boss battles were unreal, and oh so satisfying and the acting and story was just so great, also your little BB (baby you carry around in a pod), is probably the greatest video game character ever created, I was so invested in his safety right from the first moment I got him! The game has to be played to be fully appreciated, and this is from someone who really dislikes open world games! I don't know how anyone couldn't love this masterpiece, and that's what it is, a masterpiece. sand the relentless push towards games where the key mechanic is combat, has never really been my thing.… Expand

    I love the world that Kojima has created here. As I have in his previous games. The acting and story so far is great. I know this game is not for everyone. And I feel that so many of the negative reviews come from those who have not played a Kojima game before. As long cut scenes and weird story is a standard for him.     A relaxing, fun game with an interesting story. Kudos to Kojima for trying different things out. The online aspect of the game where you leave likes and get likes builds up a positive community and makes you want to help not just yourself but others.

    Its not your typical game where you feel instant gratification for just pushing the buttons in the right order. It can be boring, it can be tedious. But a mew type of videogame experience, and in my opinion, similar to watching an indi movie, or reading a good book. Hard to argue with the split reviews, you will either like it or you wont. And watching it is a good way to tell.

    The studio was formed 3 years ago. And in less time that many other fully formed studios, this company has put out a AAA title that has a way of playing not seen anywhere else. Ignore the Kojima cult, but also ignore the haters. Make up your own mind. I loved it. Hope you try it.    … Expand

    Not just walking, this is a very bad criticism for such a creation. You walk as much as in any open world game. It's all about building connections and how difficult it is. The gameplay makes you feel how epic and difficult is the journey. It's not about killing/defeating the bad guys, it's a man vs nature game in a post apocaliptic world. The story is filled with details, you can't miss a dialog and you have to put a lot of attention to the meaning of each word, like for example the characters last names

Breath of the wild , journey , abzu, shadow of the colossus, etc.. the type with long expanses that allows you to soak the world in and get really immersed in it and not blaze through it . If you only play the first few chapters then yes it may seem like it's a walking simulator but if you play through you will see other modes of transport like motorcycles, trucks, fast travel , ziplines, etc. You also have a lot of weapons choices as well the further Into the story you get and at the end the last chapter is free roam to continue and finish getting rest of the trophies . It's funny how many say great graphics but boring gameplay and still give the game a 0 that tells me they only got in here to review bomb a great game and didn't buy the game themselves this game is definitely not a 0. Yes it's definitely different and not for everyone . If you like the games I mentioned above there is a great chance you will like this game . If you're on the fence go to redbox rent it play it to at least chapter 4 then make your decision if this is the game for you and don't listen to those who came on here just to give it a 0.     That being said, I've been loving every single second of the game, in the beginning without having a proper way to defend yourself from the BT's each encounter is a nerve wracking experience as you try to navigate through enemies you cannot see. The environment is beautifully done, I see many people comparing it to breath of the wild and saying it is empty in comparison. Yes only a few areas on the map have settlements, however this does not mean its empty and meaningless, every part on the map is designed to challenge the user in some way, either by crossing through rivers, rough terrain, or BT or MULE infested terrain. I have by no means finished the game or even close to it, however in the time I have been playing I am constantly surprised by the different mechanics implemented into the game.

    The graphics in the game are beautiful, the motion capture for Norman Reedus is so good it makes you feel weird when he does dumb things in the mirror. the level of detail for it is such that I managed to wrap a cord around a structure at exactly a point I wanted and the thread bent in the exact way it would do in real life. In short this is not a "scary metal gear" this is a completely new game, see a review video on youtube and go in with the correct expectations and you will not be disappointed. if however you are looking for a shooter game, please refer to Gears of War or Call of Duty which should suit your needs perfectly.    … Expand

    I think Hideo Kojima has to be praised for doing something totally different, I can understand though that some will not get on with it at all. I think it’s amazing once I was past the first few hours.

    - Great cutscenes, feels like being a part of a Hollywood movie. Like a mixture of Lost, Stranger Things, Black Mirror.

    - Lack of action and pacifism was appealing to me. I have no rush and I see this as a relaxing experience as if I'm actually exploring a new world trekking around. This really might be a new genre and it has tons of potential for improvement.

    Bad:
    - The technology of the world seems to be too advanced for sending deliverymen around on foot. This feels weird. Could be better if the survivors weren't this "clean" and plastic. I like the world presented in the movies "The Road" and "Book of Eli" when it comes to post apocalyptic environments.

    - Could have been better if there was vehicle physics and gameplay like Spintires.

    - The async multiplayer feels weird. Makes the game easier but funnier. Might be better if you play it totally offline, giving you more isolation and realism of being alone in the environment.    … Expand

    Beautiful open world that evolves on a community basis. Great soundtrack, graphics. Great storytelling and acting. Addictive gameplay loop with a lot of intertwined systems challenging your execution at all times. It’s different though. And it will not please everyone. But personally I love it!

Yes this game is a walking simulator but it’s also so much more than that. I can say in these 16 ish hours I’ve already felt so many emotions towards the game it’s unbelievable. I don’t want to say much because it’s a game that can’t be explained it needs to be played but I just want people to know if you like to chill out and ain’t afraid of something new please try this game. The only reason I’m not giving it a 10/10 is because it isn’t no red dead redemption or the last of us it’s a new genre that is exciting and has hopefully built a new image for future games coming.… Expand

    There are a few things that keep me from giving this game a higher score. Firstly, the game's driving physics are pretty terrible. In 2019 there's really no excuse for how bad these driving mechanics are, especially from a game with such a high budget. Then there's the gunplay/combat in general, it just feels like an inferior MGSV. Another thing is the difficulty of the game or lack thereof. I played this game on hard mode and I only died maybe 3 times and I never failed any of my deliveries. The lack of challenge was definitely a detriment to this game. Lastly the characters, most of the cast is pretty forgettable. For a game that obviously wants you the player to get invested in it's story and world, it's pretty disappointing that the majority of the cast is subpar.    … Expand

Llevo 20 horas de juego y solo estoy en el capítulo 3 nunca pensé que podrían hacer la tarea de repartir algo divertido o satisfactorio ayudarte entre otros jugadores a reconstruir la sociedad encontrar otros caminos a tu objetivo gracias a la ayuda de los demás ver. Cómo los demás agradecen tu ayuda también las historias de los npc y que te cuenten la historia de lo que pasó y que es el death stranding es interesante pero el juego no deja de tener fallas demasiadas animaciones innecesarias no necesito que volver a ver la animación del odradek para saber que hay enemigos los BT aparte del peligro cuando no tienes medio de defenderte son hasta el momento sencillos ya que prácticamente no atacan solo se dedican a moverser mientras les tiras sangre o excretaciones de tu cuerpo las mulas son fáciles de derrotar y no significan ningún problema en especial cuando creas carreteras y literalmente pasas por encima de ellas la historia es interesante hasta el momento pero a mí gusto le falta engancho me gusta de que si se mueren alguien tengan que pasar 48 horas reales para que ocurra un voidout gráficamente es una puta delicia también soniramente hasta el momento ha valido lo que he pagado… Expand

And if I choose the last option — I need to find materials at enemy camp. Not to mention the relief, when you find bridge above the cliff running from mules, which was left there by another player. There is no easy solution — you constantly need to think what way to choose next time.     I truly enjoy every living moment of this game. Exploring themes of parenthood, community, separation, cooperation and connections in the form of the dead, the living and how these connection and emotions can make people help each other and form a deeper understanding of people's struggle. Along The hour long journey, you find people who have scaled the same mountains you have crossed the same rivers, who've thought of the next people who've needed to travel the distance making the journey that much more manageable. This game is for everyone, but only certain people will be willing to make it all the way to the end. It's a game that tells a narrative through it's gameplay, music and visual stunning cutscenes all coming together to create an artistic masterpiece that will talked about for generations.     Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it. [Issue#299]

    This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
