For die-hard fans of the series, there is nothing new to be found here, but for those who never had a chance to get their hands on any of the Castlevania titles, this collection would be a perfect start to enter the Castlevania world.

Castlevania Requiem is a decent port of two classic, beloved games. At $20, PS4 players are getting a lot of value for their money. Both games have a lot of content with optional levels & a secret playable character in Rondo of Blood and a massive, open-ended map in Symphony of the Night. Castlevania fans wouldn’t be making a mistake by purchasing this collection.

Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night resonate on PlayStation 4 with a not particularly dignified conversion, which rests on the immense beauty of the two works, but that is still recommended for anyone who has never experienced one of the greatest adventures in videogame history.

Castlevania Requiem is an excellent collection of two very important as well as very different Castlevania games. If you have enjoyed the recent Netflix series and don’t know much about the games it is based off, then this is probably the perfect collection to get to grips with the saga.

Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood does the bare minimum, but it’s still well worth playing. While there are no extras included in this anthology, the two games it contains are some of the best ever made, and one of them has been pretty difficult to come by until now. Aside from the replacement of Symphony of the Night’s wonderfully campy voice acting, both games are delivered in perfect shape and are still as worth playing today as they’ve ever been.

A wonderfully nostalgic mix of beautiful pixels, rousing music and sometimes brutal difficulty.

Two great games in one shallow package. Both Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night are still enjoyable, but Konami could and should have done something more.

While Rondo of Blood is one of the rarest, hardest and influent Castlevania ever made, Symphony of the Night is one of the best videogames ever, period.

Castlevania Requiem brings to modern consoles what made the franchise successful in the first place. Requiem is not perfect and offers little extra in terms of modernization, but it stays true to the original vision.

With two brilliant retro games in one bundle, the gameplay in Castlevania Requiem is excellent.

Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night are both indisputably masterpieces, but the versions included in this collection are direct ports of the original games. On the side of graphic and technical presentation we expected something more.

When taken for what it is, Castlevania Requiem is a functional and acceptable port of two legendary titles. It provides both games to players in a way that is entertaining and satisfying, regardless of whether you’ve played it a million times or want to finally see what all the fuss is about over two decades later.

It may not feature perfect ports but Castlevania Requiem still contains 2 of the best games ever made. However, after playing through these gems, it's hard not to feel bittersweet. On one hand, the era of perfectly crafted gaming experiences has passed in favour of Hollywood-style rubbish and wannabe indie developers. On the other, enjoying these timeless classics again is an absolute treat.

While you won't find any additional features like Saturn-exclusive content, art galleries, or even a main menu with music, what you will get in Castlevania Requiem is a double pack of Konami's best vampire hunting adventures at a budget price.

Castlevania Requiem combines two of the best games in the Castlevania series. However, it does just that. The bare-bones presentation and weird mistakes keep this from becoming a must own collection.

Castlevania: Requiem is a complicated thing. It's both a wonderful package of two incredible moments in Castlevania history and a bog-standard port.

This is a port of the PSP version. The voice acting and dialogue has been changed in small but impactful ways. If you want to hear Dracula’s cheesy opening speech, you’re out of luck. No “What is a man...” speech here.
Still a great game. But was hoping for the original PlayStation version, but this will do I suppose.

I can dream dammit!! Full Review »
