    I think that the developers simply forgot to replace the textures of Russian soldiers with the textures of soldiers of Nazi Germany. A similar situation apparently happened with the words RUSSIAN/RUSSIA in all dialogs.

    The Highway of Death (Arabic: طريق الموت‎ ṭarīq al-mawt) is a six-lane highway between Kuwait and Iraq, officially known as Highway 80. It runs from Kuwait City to the border town of Safwan in Iraq and then on to the Iraqi city of Basra. The road was used by Iraqi armored divisions for the 1990 Invasion of Kuwait. It was repaired after the Persian Gulf War and used by U.S. and British forces in the initial stages of the 2003 invasion of Iraq.[5]

    During the American led coalition offensive in the Persian Gulf War, American, Canadian, British and French aircraft and ground forces attacked retreating Iraqi military personnel attempting to leave Kuwait on the night of February 26–27, 1991, resulting in the destruction of hundreds of vehicles and the deaths of many of their occupants. Between 1,400 and 2,000 vehicles were hit or abandoned on the main Highway 80 north of Al Jahra.

    The scenes of devastation on the road are some of the most recognizable images of the war, and it has been suggested that they were a factor in President George H. W. Bush's decision to declare a cessation of hostilities the next day.[6] Many Iraqi forces, however, successfully escaped across the Euphrates river, and the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency estimated that upwards of 70,000 to 80,000 troops from defeated divisions in Kuwait might have fled into Basra, evading capture.[7]    … Expand

    The game itself is good, visuals are good (but nothing revolutionary), gameplay mechanics very friendly.
    Negative - the campaign plot. Scenario came out from cold war times, showing "evil Russians" killing innocents and so on.
    Script written by mentally disabled person, it's like watching last season of "Game of Thrones" :)

    This game is very realistic and a breath of fresh air amongst first person shooters of todays standards. My only problem is the campaign is too short. This game however delivers online is spades. It is also a real step forward for Activision.

Nothing works, and these issues are being experienced by far more than just myself, but by the community as a whole. Due to this I have requested a refund both through Blizzard AND Activision. Blizzard directed me to go to Activision, and Activision pointed me towards Blizzard. Ridiculous.

    Sixty dollars may not seem like a lot to some, but to my family, sixty dollars for a video game it's a pretty hefty amount of money. It is not fair to the consumer that they pay a price for a defective product that does not function as advertised. Period.

    It just isn't fair for consumers to pay hard-earned money for a product that does not work. This has soured any faith I ever had in Blizzard/Activision, and it will be hard to win that faith back, if it can be salvaged at all.    … Expand

    so many bugs that are not getting fixed, too busy nerfing the same gun 3 times in the space of 1 month.
    Campers paradise! the maps are specifically designed just to sit in a corner and camp all game. Most boring and slow paced multiplayer game ive EVER played.
    The new field upgardes are broken and wont let me use them half of the time in game.
    Hit detection is broken, i shoot a full assault rifle clip at someone and 90% of the bullets go straight through them taking no damage at all???
    You spawn and you die straight away due to the new mechanics that wont let you shoot for the first couple of seconds of spawning in and the spawn system is also broken due to very bad spawn loacations.
    The game is that slow paced on FFA and TDM due to campers that the timer runs out in the majority of games rather than hitting the score limit
    Overall the game is slow paced, boring to play and very frustrating, really not worth the money imo.
    I wish i never bought it, really isnt the game they made it out to be    … Expand

    In multiplayer is missing a real competitive ladder, where you can only compare on accumulation of points, not actually on how good or bad you are going like any competitive game ladder. The matchmaking is really bad made, a balanced game is very hard to find, or you win 100 - 0 or you lose 0 - 100. Yes Clarence, putting a claymore at every doorway leading into the room you’re sitting in is more “tactical,” but let me remind you that after this game you have to go rub your grandmother’s feet. Call of duty Modern Warfare did let me down like always, I’ve wasted my money on this 60 dollar game that deliberately forces its players not to take on an aggressive playstyle, yep, a COD where you get severely punished for constantly moving around and not sitting in a corner for god knows how long.

    The story is indeed bad, there was so many missed opportunities with what it wanted to do, I genuinely do feel like they’ve been throwing “shocking” scenery just for the gist of it, it really should not exist with the constant child murder and mass civilian murder, soke of the events shown in the story were ripped off of real genuine events but infinity ward chose to flip the sides around, because Russian man bad, although the only two things i could personally praise is the gun play and how the game looks like.

    Oh and co-op is terrible, spec ops is bad and operations is merely impossible given how IW spams juggernauts and or swarms you with infinite spawning terrorist dudes, if IW perhaps fixed and personally adjusted these issues then I’d perhaps give that part of the game another shot.    … Expand

    I'm going to start out by saying the game looked great, even on a console with some very clean, and crisp photo-realism that I haven't really awed me since the days of CoD4. The campaign really shines for this by delivering some very believable and intense moments that actually hooked me in. My only gripe is the intense slowdown during cutscenes that did break my immersion just ever so slightly. Yet busting down doors, clearing rooms, and vital decision making is really what makes it come to life in my opinion. The campaign is one of the best in the series as long as you don't pay too much attention to the plot because it's poorly written and has one of the worst endings.

    So why does this review get such a low score if the campaign is great though?; well, for me, the multiplayer was nigh unplayable at times. Crashing, connection issues, and a barrage of technical and balance issues plague it. The campaign would sometimes crash me back to the home screen, but my real beef is not being able to connect to their services 9/10 times. I was maybe only able to play but a few sessions before the game decided it just didn't want to work anymore. The few matches I did experience went like this.

    - Spawn in
    - Try to run towards objective
    - Get murdered by a furious hail of fire
    - Spawn again
    - Try to run through the maps poorly-designed corridors
    - Either trip on one of the hundreds of placed claymores or take a shotgun to the face because the entire lobby corner camps and watches windows

    Its not very fun because of the terrible balance decisions that went into this game and it doesn't help that the maps offered to us were so poorly designed. Every map is basically just three different paths with a variety of buildings in between the and around the perimeter of the map. Running out in the open and attempting to run and gun isn't a viable option. Many matches ended with each team just camping the same objectives without much rotation.

    Sorry guys, but Call of Duty isn't making a return with this game. It's just the same rushed cashgrab put out by exhausted developers and greedy publishers that refuse to acknowledge and fix issues or even playtest their own game apparently.    … Expand

    If you wanna play for the campaign wait the game to be like 10 bucks as it is like 8-10 hours long on Veteran. As for MP the devs just said F you to the players that played their games for years. I had every cod beside Infinity Warfare and BO4 and this is without a doubt the worst experience of a MP I had ever had. In    i only made this account so I can say how utterly **** is this game.

    If you wanna play for the campaign wait the game to be like 10 bucks as it is like 8-10 hours long on Veteran.

    I can go on and on about how they created a safe space for the noobs and ignored their old fans. AT SOME POINT WE WERE ALL NOOBS AND GOT KILLED LIKE CHICKENS IN THIS FRANCHISE BUT AT LEAST WE HAD FUN AND LEARNED TO PLAY THE GAME.

    This should have been named Modern Campfare or Camping simulator.

    Just don't buy it, **** them, this is the last COD that I play, if they don't give a **** and won't either.

It couldn't be China, because if it was, China would ban Activision from ever tapping into the Chinese market, and no other country really fits the villain role. It feels very hollow (the EQ is off). The propaganda in the campaign is off the charts. Why couldn't they think of a newer name.     The game is fine... But the mechanics of how the game is managed on your device is ridiculous, the game being divided into sections and auto deleting them if you haven't played in a while... Not fun for us casual gamers. Also the way they integrate the next version of the game (cold war) into the menu is terrible, I didn't buy cold war, I boughtodern warfare stop forcing your crap onto me.

    Who cares about the issues with campaign and Russian controversy. Its Call of Duty! You bought it for the endless replay ability, to team up with friends and compete against other people for the win. However, this game has some serious character flaws. Call of Duty WAS the speed paint ball to traditional woodlands style that was battlefield. It felt more like a competitive sport than a recreational past time. Sadly, that game is no more.

    Lets start off with the game play speed. Typically when a game drops, you get a little bit of camping due to people adjusting to the maps, spawns, ect. Right off the bat, it feels significantly worse, but why? This game negatively impacts the run and gun style that it once was so badly, that it feels unplayable. Map design, aim down sight speed, as well as game sound are a massive reason why it feels the way it does.

    Maps: The first thing you will notice is how cluttered it is both physically and visually. Maps are massive, have various hiding spots, routes and lines of sight that will overwhelm you. This makes it difficult to spot a silhouette before you are dead. Spawns are horrible, very rarely do you cause a spawn to flip unless you aggressively push in to their current spawn. Even then, you typically have 2 main spawn points. On occasion, you may spawn somewhere else. For the most part, you can push up and force them into a spawn and just light them up repeatedly. I do not hold too much against this, because patches can fix this in the future. However, they are currently the worst that I have seen, almost as bad as when MW2 where you could keep knifing them in the back every time they spawned.

    ADS Speed (Aim Down Sight Speed): Typically the perk that increased your ADS speed in COD was always a staple perk that helped you out gun the camper that was hiding in a corner of the map. Now you have to choose between ADS and stability/accuracy. Yes, you can have a little of both but it still feels bad. Now, you would think that you can just fine tune it and get what you like, however the descriptions of each attachment, mixed with a visual bar is all you get. I would like to see the numbers. Does this stock add 15 stability and remove .05 seconds of ADS speed? Who knows, because it is all up to you to "feel" it. And with the 50+ attachments, good luck testing them out.

    Sound: One might not think that sound is that big of a deal, however the foot steps and battle chatter are the final nail in the coffin. You can hear the enemy foot steps so easy and when someone is hiding and waiting, as soon as you are in their line of sight, you are dead. No, walking slow or crouch walking does not work anymore anymore. One might be thinking just use dead silence, previous games had the dead silence perk to combat this. However, this game has moved it into the field upgrade. Now you have to charge it over time, then activate it when you want to use it. Countless times, I have activated it, to die by a camper and lost it, or it ran out before I actually found someone. And the off chance that you actually do get it, battle chatter will have your character or the enemy character yelling the location of you. So many times have I gotten free kills or killed because the computer AI yells out the location of someone. Making dead silence a perk again and remove the battle chatter. If someone is camping and the miss someone walking by, we do not need the AI notifying them of it because they did not camp well enough.

    If those issues could be fixed and a few good DLC maps are done, I could see this game being very enjoyable. In the mean time, I will continue to camp like the rest of the community until they fix it or my patience is over and I play something else.

    This reminds me of Gears of War 2 and how the game developers wanted the game to play differently than Gears 1. did and alienated a lot of the player base. Needless to say, that was the end of that franchise for me and many others. It saddens me to think that I see this turning out the same way.     I was expecting that this game would be resurrected, but it reached rock bottom. Just wanted to have some fun playing it and instead we got the absolutely propagandic tool, which actually rewrited the US war crime. Russophobic just coming out of the bounds. Thanks for the videos won't buy it.

    Horrible game been playing 3 days straight. CAMPING CAMPING CAMPING there isnt any battle left. Nobody runs up to eachother this isnt even a shooter this is a trash camp simulator. And the worse part is camping gets rewarded. F this game buy something else.

I don't really understand why maps have to be so complicated and why they add so many sneaky spots you get killed out of and just ask yourself "wth that's a f-ing spot?!".
    And then there is the whole micro-transaction p2w debacle that's going to hit us in a few weeks. However im not going to give them leeway just because they come with sneaky tactics like releasing the whole p2w roulette boxes after reviews are out, lying to players that they wont come, till millions got a copy and then releasing it because they already bought the game so can't really dmg them anymore. Yeah no, 1 Star, because multiplayer is "still" enjoyable.

    Not going to mention all the bugs and crashes, you can guess they have a lot, cuz activision games never come out finished.    … Expand

    I play video games to have fun and relax, but having to exhaust myself every match just do okay is neither. And having played every cod game this is the only one besides ghosts I just can't be bothered with. Removing skill based matchmaking would go along way but I really don't see that happening.

    I've owned all COD games (except for COD 3) and played a lot of them, however, this must be my least favorite cod game. The campaign is short and not a very good story. Co-op is too difficult for no good reasons, and it lacks content. The multiplayer is just sooooo bad. The map is badly designed, makes people camp to kill.

    After a multiplayer-centric episode, the COD fans will be delight with the return of a nervous and strong solo campaign. Modern Warfare is back with old-fashioned gameplay that is more grounded and efficient. The generous amount of content adds some depth to one of the best chapters of the saga to date. Magic!

    Overall Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a good title that is marred by the expectations that the Modern Warfare name brings with it. The campaign has some really stellar gameplay moments that are brought down by the mediocre plot. Multiplayer was fun but felt a bit like the competition’s output (despite there being no Battlefield release this year) which may be a turn off for some. I don’t think Modern Warfare 2019 has done anything to make me rethink waiting for substantial price drops to play Call of Duty campaigns, because clearly multiplayer is still Activision’s main focus and that’s just not where I get my kicks.
