Great story, however hated the controls. The game is really short, and should be considered on a sale. The story is engaging, but the controls are just horrendous.

Decent effort. Interesting unique take on controlling two characters at once. The story is good but the game-play, once the newness wears off is a bit too much going through the motions. It is also a relatively short game.

Impressive artistic vision and flair, and a unique game mechanic, and a visual treat, but unfortunately the game doesn't do enough with the puzzle aspect, or creating challenge, or the connection to the characters with their gibberish language. I finished this just to finish it, but find myself relieved that it's done. Can you make a game about kids that go on an adventure and have them not speak english, and have Brandon like the game? Yes, yes you can. Hey Brandon here to discuss Bothers Tale of Two Sons. This is a downloadable game for the PC, XBLA, and PSN. It is a interesting game that gives you that good ole PG adventure you just loved as a kid.

This is a downloadable game for the PC, XBLA, and PSN. It is a interesting game that gives you that good ole PG adventure you just loved as a kid.

The story is about two brothers, these two nameless kids are on a quest to help find the thing to help their dying father. I know it sounds cliche Disney **** but believe me this is better. The rest of the story is the quest itself you see slave minds, invisible monsters, and a battlefield that giants fought on. Now the characters never speak anything but simlish but they do get some emotions out of these kids. By the end I was thinking, "what is this feeling? Is this empathy for these little bastards? Nooo!" something around those lines.

The game uses that cartoony almost World of Warcraft art style which I don't mind for it being a low budget game. The game does have these vast and original environments that vary so much that you do feel as if you were going on a adventure. The games soundtrack is good but a bit generic at times.

The developers went out of their normal wheelhouse with this one. Starbreeze Studios the makers of the poor Payday series and the remake of Syndicate. They made a platforming puzzle game, oddly enough this is some of their best work yet. Maybe you guys should stick to this? Payday isn't working out so well.

The gameplay takes a bit getting used to. You have control of both brothers with each analog stick. It is super weird and will really test you on just making the simplest of movements. The puzzles are very easy and forward which is great for people like me who have a ton of things on their plate to worry about this. The game isn't terribly long with no replay value to really speak of but it is definitely worth at least one go through. The fact the brothers have their own specialties makes for a nice way of showing individualism between them.

In the end with the shortness and lack of replay it takes away from the value of the game. The story is great and light for the most part which is nice when so much media is turning darker in todays age. I give this a 3/5. If you see it at a discount purchase it, but 15$ seems a bit much. Man I wish I had a brother so we could go find the sacred fountain of Mellow Yellow.

It's a nice, moving, short story you can finish in a couple of hours. And I say that even though I played after seeing a spoiler of the end. The gameplay... Well, it's interesting controlling two characters at once. Problem is, it doesn't run very smoothly, at least on my PS4 Slim. I had to shut the game two or three times to get it working properly. Very predictable story and not a lot of game play. I was quite disappointed with this one.

Brothers is a decent puzzle platformer with the unique aspect of controlling the titular boys via gameplay. The level design superficially seems rich but doesn't live up to the promise. The entire game could have used more meet on the bones. Still a worthy effort by a small team.

Decent story, short game (3h), good music. Much overrated though. I preferred Silence (ps4 game 2016) by a large margin.

Short game with a nice story, although gameplay is somewhat clunky. You play with two brothers on one joystick, but can do a co-op using one controller.

While it may seem as a cheery game at first, it soon becomes darker.

Quick background on me the reviewer, I tend to like single player games that is heavy on narrative the most. I also play a lot of racing games and use to play multiplayer games in my high school days but now that it's hard for me and my friends to find a good time to link up so now it’s rarer for me to get into a multiplayer game. Up to try any genre of games and sometimes I find something new that I didn't think I'd like. I own a PC (built by me), Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, PS3, PS4, PS5, and a Switch. I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions.

    (6) Limited Appeal. Although there may be fans of games receiving this score, many will be left yearning for a more rewarding game experience.

Great idea but very annoying controls. Each joystick controls one of the brothers so you have to pay attention to your movements because it feels so awkward controlling two characters at the same time. If you can look pass the annoying controls, maybe you'll enjoy it. I passed on it and youtubed the story.

This is a fairy tale of "hope" and two brothers will bring the weight to the end.

Style and emotions remain deliciously unchanged, yet this re-release on current generation consoles isn't exactly a luxurious one (and it's even pricier than before...).

It's still and enjoyable and original game, although this remake should be considered only by those who haven't already played the original, as the extra content is really thin.
