    Biomutant is an action-adventure RPG

    + Gorgeous world to explore
    - Overbearing narrator is very annoying
    - Doesn't explain some game mechanics very well

    Nothing new narrative guy wouldn’t shut up frame rate could be better and to many glitches! Story was meh. Why did to mom know kung fu while dad was sowing? Bland game in the end.

    Rating Biomutant is not easy. It feels like on most things it does well, there’s something it does bad.

    For instance it’s a very charming and unique game, where you can really feel that the developers put a lot of effort and heart into it.     Heck, most of the side quests are just like this: go to a certain place, activate something by always solving the same puzzle and then get an item, you will never use.

    Combat feels on the one hand really smooth and fast paced. But it can get really annoying sometimes due to the lack of basic features, like manually locking onto enemies. And believe me, it will happen a lot of times that the game locks onto enemies you don’t want to attack.

    Character development is basically really cool. Create your own mutated creature, choose which environmental dangers it is resistant to, decide whether you are good or bad and decide if you want to unify all tribes or become the sole leader.
    But all of these mechanics are really shallow and always feel like they get deeper at some point, but it never happens.

    But in the end, it is still kind of fun to play. It has a big, beautiful and detailed open-world and lots of content. It’s really more or less a mediocre game. But if you like it more or less than that really depends on you individually. Especially if you like exploring open-worlds, you will definitely like it more.    … Expand

    Biomutant is a game with a lot of problems with long dialogues and short gamplay,but when it comes is really good.

    With one voice actor the entire game it makes exposition (which there is a lot of) very annoying, combat is clunky and not the most responsive. That being said however crafting and customization is pretty well done as well as environments.

    Plot is boring, pseudo-psychological dialogs are stiff and nonsense, npcs and enemies are very alike and repeatable, lots of copy/paste. Game is far from exciting and simply stupid. Too naive for grown player, overcomplicated for younger ones... Waste of money, waste of time.....

    I've played this game now for a few hours and I think that's as far as I'm going to get. While there are a lot of concepts here that are interesting like the character creation and mixed combat of ranged and melee, I just found this game dull.     I must admit, I went in blind expecting the game to be at least a little better than reviews made it out to be, but I was wrong. It was even worse. The story/narrative is ridiculous. Who thought not giving the characters a real comprehensible voice would be a good ideia? You simply cannot relate to any character, since they are all totally bland and uninteresting. Besides, you get tired ofI must admit, I went in blind expecting the game to be at least a little better than reviews made it out to be, but I was wrong. It was even worse.     A beautiful world, character design and soundtrack. You can decide on the kind of character you want to create, enjoy your style of combat and explore the world.
    That is until you meet the final four bosses in the game which are no fun, cripple the game and ruin it all. Those fights feel like they were designed separate from the rest of the game.     When I received the game, it downloaded update 2.05 and the game was a whopping 11 GB. I was liking the game ok until I got stuck in some cave or underground system. I walked in circles about ten times, tried every fast travel point I could (you cannot fast travel from here ) and gave up as I wasn't too in to the story anyway.     The game tries to be innovative and cute, but unfortunately after few hours it gets boring repetitive and extremely annoying. After some time I had to play on mute just not to hear the narrator for a while. And the puzzle is so easy it's insulting. Even for children... On top of that at least one trophy seems to be bugged. It is pretty tho. Eye candy with nothing much to offer...

I feel like the (robust and confusing) character upgrades, armor and weapon customization, and elementals, have little impact on the game. I'm at a point where my character can literally walk around, shock everyone on screen and regain health from that. I slightly dodge, and defeat the "toughest" enemies. MyBland and repetitive. I'm playing on hard and have not had a single challenge yet. I feel like the (robust and confusing) character upgrades, armor and weapon customization, and elementals, have little impact on the game. I'm at a point where my character can literally walk around, shock everyone on screen and regain health from that. I slightly dodge, and defeat the "toughest" enemies. My kid likes the hacking and slashing, I'm bored. I can not stand the narration style either, the character says something in the made up language, then the narrator immediately repeats it in English.… Expand

    It’s definitely a game. The absolute best thing about Biomutant is the graphics, because it is beautiful. Past that it’s a pretty meh rpg. Melee is clunky and repetitive, ranged is baby mode, very few skills and abilities compared to other games in the genre, and a very boring super mode called Super Wung Fu. Like wow I now get like 4 moves but they have more knock back or deal a bit moreIt’s definitely a game. The absolute best thing about Biomutant is the graphics, because it is beautiful. Past that it’s a pretty meh rpg. Melee is clunky and repetitive, ranged is baby mode, very few skills and abilities compared to other games in the genre, and a very boring super mode called Super Wung Fu. Like wow I now get like 4 moves but they have more knock back or deal a bit more damage, so game changing. The crafting is a little interesting but ultimately falls short due to having no way to convert or build a specific piece on top of relying on good drops for money or a weapon that you can immediately scrap for a single part. It’s an ok game, but if you like games with more substance than applesauce then you may want a different game… Expand

    Played it only because it was on PS+ and Im glad I didnt buy it like I wanted originally. The game has seen a ton of updates now but it is still very janky. Part of this is on me for not watching gameplay before playing it or I wouldnt have even bothered. The combat is terrible and they have kind of a "bullet time" gimmick where it will randomly slow down time during gun battle but its notPlayed it only because it was on PS+ and Im glad I didnt buy it like I wanted originally.     The game feels empty. Combat lacks oomph. Plenty of glaring issues that 99% of reviewers have already covered. Game has good "bones" and could have been something great. Just mediocre at this time.

    Edit: After completing the game and suffering through 67 hours of game play, I have to reduce the score.
    Could not 100% due to bugs. The game got so incredibly boring, I had to force myself to play.

    Mi mayor problema con este juego es que el gameplay es aburrido, No puedo fijar yo la mira, cuando golpeo a un enemigo no siento esa sensacion de que le he hecho daño
    Por otro lado el juego cuesta 60 y no parece que esta completo las texturas parecen que las compraron en una pagina por ahi y las agregaron al juego

    I've played this with huge curiosity. And I've ended up to play a sort of cheap Indi game, and it's not even the worst part of it...

    The game is aggressively repetitive, to the point of not return, and the plot is basically a ridiculous excuse for making the same quests over and over again. A beautiful open world to see, filled with the worst kind of quest ever imaginable. (in some    I've played this with huge curiosity.     The main issue with this game on PS4 is how poor it runs. Even turning the frame rate down doesn't help with the drops and general stuttering that happens when you're just running around the map. Add a bunch of enemies on top of that and it literally gave me a headache when I was trying to maneuver around during combat. Disappointed that I can't get a refund.

    Beautiful world but the game is apsolutely flat. Quests are very boring, especialy side quests. They literaly make you collect wood and go from one side of the map to the next. Combat is ok but nothing more. Soulless game.

    There are some cool concepts buried in here, but you really have to dig through the incessant narrator, soulless world, and bland gameplay to get there. Ultimately this game would have benefited from stripping some features and putting more focus into just a few.

    I played for about 4 hours now and had to come in here to see what others think about it. My take: 1. Very flimsy and weird combat. Not satisfying at all. It also feels weak and the controls aren’t good. 2. You can’t lock on enemies more than a couple of seconds. If you shoot or evade it let’s go of the lock. Extremely frustrating. 3. You almost can’t dodge sometimes. Maybe I’m too usedI played for about 4 hours now and had to come in here to see what others think about it. My take: 1. Very flimsy and weird combat.     Но больше всего запомнился рассказчик, который высказывается по любому поводу и без, но всегда без какого либо смысла и адекватности, примерно как "Ночью темно потому что нет света.".

    Yet another disappointment in a long line of disappointments. Narration gets irritating VERY fast. The the environments look nice at first glance but there is some serious texture popping and most of the game world is somewhat empty. Then there's bad combat, audio issues and just the general blandness of the entire game. And being a small studio is not an excuse for putting out a bad game.

    The world is empty and shallow.
    The narrator always repeating himself.
    No matter what build , guns will always outshine everything.
    Special Powers are not even worth it.

    I understand the dev team is small but this game didn't quite make it and not worth the price ( I would pay 10 bucks for a thing like this ).

The world looks great but it’s empty. It follows the trend of miles wide, inch deep open-world games and is somewhat similar to Ubisoft formula albeit not as fun nor polished. Mission objectivesThis was one of the few games that I have pre-ordered as I was charmed by the games aesthetics, atmosphere and art-style. Once I started playing however, I realised how shallow the experience is. The world looks great but it’s empty. It follows the trend of miles wide, inch deep open-world games and is somewhat similar to Ubisoft formula albeit not as fun nor polished. Mission objectives usually require you to ride from point A to B, most of the goals are so far away that you need a long time to get there. Weapon crafting is great and I hope more games implement similar mechanics. The story is a disaster. Most of the main story-line comprises of fetch quests and then some boss fights, which are not memorable nor enjoyable. Some people probably enjoyed the narrator however, I can’t stand him, because every character seems the same and there is no variation, which is a shame as most of them look pretty cool. I understand that the game was made by a small number of people however it is sold for a AAA price and so it should be reviewed as such. It’s worth 20 bucks at most. Simply put, the game is not well executed, lacks cohesion, the story is very disappointing, some aspects are downright boring and uninspiring. One of the most disappointing game I have ever played, and one of the worst games of this year so far. I can’t believe how there are so many 10/10s. Save your money for something better… Expand

    A total waste of time, money and potential. I am starting to believe that anyone can release anything, in any state or quality, with no projections on mostly anything in the game industry and that's how its gonna be for now on

    For on open-world action RPG developed by a handful of people, Biomutant makes a very striking impression. It’s hard for me to imagine someone not falling in love with the beautiful, unique world conjured up by Experiment 101. Sure, the game as a whole is not perfect, but if a sequel is ever created, I’ll be the first in line to play it. [07/2021, p.38]

    From creating your own character to a wide array of vehicles and a unique world, there’s a lot to love in Biomutant – which makes its shallowness all the more disappointing. The inconsistent battle system and the amount of bugs doesn’t make things any better. While the game certainly knows how to hook you, the fun doesn’t last very long.

    Biomutant tries to do a lot of interesting things. It offers a potentially captivating world and unique crafting mechanics. Even the combat's fine, on the surface. The game, however, doesn't exactly play well, with clumsy controls, repetitive missions and an overemphasis on drawn-out dialogue that bores instead of inspires. This really could (and should) have been a lot better than it is.
