    This game is great, everytime I find new loot I get excited to see what I found and it just has a bunch of cool mechanics and things to explore, reviewers are haters, how can they give games like call of duty good scores and **** on this, its like a cross between fable and zelda with way better combat, dont listen to reviewers or haters.

    It's like a corky N64 beat-em-up platformer in an open world setting with modern graphics. It draws inspiration from a lot of different games from the past and combines them all. Most of the people leaving negative reviews are just spoiled and expected this game to be the next Witcher 3 or something. It's good for what it is. Go in with low expectations and you may just find it to be a fun time.

    This game is a mess in all of its aspects, it feels like a joke, one you have to pay for LOL The amount of people who worked on it has nothing to do with the game they delivered. If you cant make it, don't overscope, and more important, don't sell an unfinished pile of assets and nonsense like an AAA. If you really like this game, you need to play more.

    Love games like this. I can forget the story and make my own adventure in a new take on the post apocalypse that is a breath of fresh air. Beautiful graphics and charming aesthetic that you can get lost in exploring for hours. Plenty of mounts and unlockable, customizable vehicles to play with. Combat is fair but can be fun as you unlock abilities and craft new weapons(and there are A LOTLove games like this. I can forget the story and make my own adventure in a new take on the post apocalypse that is a breath of fresh air. Although the puzzles aren't challenging, there are some varied quest designs at play that made them feel more satisfying than the tired fetch quests of other games.

    i really tried and want to love this game but it just feels like an indie game rather than AAA and the narrator... stopping you play the game every other minute, its 1min gameplay then unnecessary cutscene where you lose all control.

    I’ve honestly struggled between a 7 and an 8 over the last couple days but I’m landing on an 8. The developers have created a unique and gorgeous world to explore with different biomes and creatures, mounts and mechs, blimps and whales. The story leaves a lot to be desired which is where I deduct my two points as this is a single player rpg. But as far as mechanics I’m impressed with allI’ve honestly struggled between a 7 and an 8 over the last couple days but I’m landing on an 8. Also I paid $59.99 Canadian for this on the PS store so I have no idea why everyone is talking about this game being AAA price. For %75 of the price of a AAA title I’m hooked.… Expand

    Yet another disappointment in a long line of disappointments. Narration gets irritating VERY fast. The the environments look nice at first glance but there is some serious texture popping and most of the game world is somewhat empty. Then there's bad combat, audio issues and just the general blandness of the entire game. And being a small studio is not an excuse for putting out a bad game.

The narrator is charming at first but wears very thin after a few hours due to the sheer amount of dialogue, especially during the tutorial which feels like an eternity.     At this time I put 55h in the Game so far. Luckily I gut my copy a couple of days before release. I have a blast and i absolutely cannot understand the bad reviews and critics.

I'm seeing a lot of "couldn't make it past the tutorial", that's the slowest part of any game. Same with the idiotic reaction like "the narrator is annoying". It can be tuned down, or turned off in settings.
    You really need to spend more than an hour in the game to see its beauty, level up to get a feel of the combat system, and explore around and do side quests to see there are more variety than the fetch quests I see complained about.

    I think x 101 did a fine job. Would like to see more content added to towns, because that is about the only repetitive, boring part about the game. Stop complaining about bugs in the first few days, there has never been a new game released without a few minor issues.    … Expand

The creatures are also cute and creepy looking. The combat is rly good and shows a lot of potential the only thing I would wish for that there would be more weapon skills. It’s offline single player so it has none of the problems associated with nearly every online based game which is a huge plus. Sure, there’s some things that could use improvement but it’s a decent title.     I believe that this game probably won't be the game of the year, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great game.
    Many people are telling bs about this game because it isn't a 10/10 game, but it isn't that different from many other open world games. Does it need improvements? Yes, as many other games.
    But it is really enjoyable and i can't keep playing.

A lot of reviews say there is a lack of impact in the combat but I would disagree because when you use the parry, special combo moves, super wung fu, or the bio/psionic abilities the sense of impact and power in game is amazing.     I don't know about those really bad reviews, but I like the game. I play on Hard, it's very challenging and gives me the usual satisfaction of win a battle. The narrator gave me some lols, I don't think take him apart. The story flows like water and I can connect with the main character and his mooma. The open world works like a charm. Three abilities non consecutive fills your bar and you can make a great attack. Doing that right after I cast an ice ground, which makes the enemies slide, is a pleasure to do. I'm very happy with this game. Now I have 11 hours of gameplay and counting. Pc never crashed, I don't have any problem.

    The names of things like the microwaves or another things of everyday uses really kicks me into the game.    … Expand

I haven't seen a single bug or glitch and all the systems and activities are fun. It's repetitive like ANY major open world games out there, but there is a lot of charm and I'm having a blast.

    I really hope this game sells well and that the devs keep supporting it with patches. The game is not a "No Mans Sky". It's pretty much the same game from the trailers.     Unfortunately another example of a getting hyped and pay for a game but getting nothing in return. The narrator is annoying, the combat system is crap, the main story is laughably short and i'm not willing to waste my time on finding secrets and Easter eggs and doing side missions.

But I kinda enjoy that I don't have to fight something every 5 seconds. It's nice to just explore and not think or Jesus here is more enemies. For such a small team they’ve delivered a knockout blow and I can’t fault them at all.     If you go into this comparing it to AAA games, you will be disappointed. But if you can forgive the small issues then you will find a fun, quirky game with unique characters and combat.

    There are a couple of things that i would like changed which i believe would improve the player experience.
    Firstly, the camera is quite close to the player. Whilst this is nice when exploring, it makes combat difficult as it makes seeing all enemies harder. By zooming out in combat, or allowing the user to change camera zoom this would improve the combat experience.
    Also, the game is very stop/start for the first hour or so, and takes away the immersion of the world. Whilst this is seen as the tutorial part and is probably more directed at the younger audience, as an experienced gamer i found the hand-holding frustrating. I would like the ability to not have so much interjection from tutorials.
    Also, dialogue can be a bit slow as the narrator only translates conversations after they've happened. it would be nice to have him translate at the same time, just to speed up conversations.    … Expand

The Monster hunting in here is better than Monster Hunter and Witcher 3 and Witcher 3 is my favorite game of all time. The story is good enough. But a game that has this good of a combat system and exploration you really don't need a story hens breath of the wild again. This game does so much right, I really don't have any knit picks. Do not do yourself a disservice and pay attention to all of the negative reviews. Give it a try for yourself. It's probably the most original game I've played in the past few years. The gameplay Loop is one of the most addictive I have ever had the pleasure to be addicted to. I have to pry myself away from this game and I can't wait to get back to it.… Expand

    At the time I reached lvl 23 with my deadeye class, but I haven't progressed much in the main story. I only fought 1 enemy clan and since then doing lots of side quests and clearing the areas I discovered. Which also means I haven't fought a world eater yet even though I fulfill the requirements to fight 2 of them. My progress reflects that I really enjoy the exploration in this game. Even at lvl 20+ I discover new things and riddles that I haven't seen before. I also like the crafting, it feels rewarding to upgrade your weapon to become better and better. I basically sticked to the first weapons I got since you can transform weapons in any type you want. Combat is also fun, you benefit a lot from combos and you can vary different abilities psi + bio with your preferred playstyle ( crowd control, dots, DMG). I also like the different zones, and that there's stuff to do by mech or jetsky. The mix is good. But the game also has some flaws I would like to see patched like minor bugs or stuff like an option to dismantle useless items when you loot them, right now loot goes straight to your inventory and once you start crafting you will first spend 5 mins dismantling everything you don't need. And in most cases dismantling is better than selling since you need lots of mats for crafting and even more to upgrade. Just keep 3-4 expensive items for sale is enough. I recommend playing on hard. It's not that hard really... And playing on easy or medium takes fun out of the game cause you just buttonsmash everything and won't need any combo or super wung Fu.ps: Would normally give 8/10 but I'd like to balance out the haters giving 0-3 which has nothing to do with constructive criticism.… Expand

    I don't understand what is the reason for such a large number of negative reviews. Game journalism sucks these days. I definitely liked the game, it has flaws, in the narrative, in the technical part (some issue with shadows on ps4), but nothing critical.

    This is a game about exploration, in a strange and funny world with unusual characters with complex customization and a fun entertaining combat system with a huge amount of homemade weapons and armor.     Having a blast so far. I don’t mind the narrator, the gameplay is actually quite fun, the world is beautiful and enemy design isn’t bad either. Lots to do in way of quests and crafting. It has a charm. I love the exploration. Overall it isn’t bad at all. Perhaps expectations were too high from that one announcement years ago?

    I absolutely love this game. If you are a fable fan, (one of my favourite franchises) I would give this a go. It’s a fun, vibrant rpg. If you utilise the powers, melee, and guns the combat is a LOT of fun! It’s a refreshing change of pace.

    It’s an exploration based game and the amount of fun content is great. If you like interesting and rewarding exploration you should give this game a fair chance. It does indeed have some jank but it is not game breaking and I think most people that are into these types of games will find a lot to like.

    What can I say, visually speaking it's one of the worst games I tried so far in years...it seems like it was developed like shiiit, carelessly, it has no attraction, it's horrible to play, not original, stupid quests, ordinary environments, invasive speaker for every single step you give. Stay away from this game

    No where near as bad as what people are saying, not sure what people were expecting. I'd give it a 7/10 myself, but putting 10 to counter the ridiculous 0s from people expecting every release to be a billion dolla AAA game (and even a lot of those suck anyway, cough cough AC Valhalla)

    The combat is simple to pick up, it's fluid and satisfying, although familiar in many ways clearly taking inspiration from multiple popular action games, Bio-mutant still maintains a uniqueness in it's execution. A large selection of weapons and abilities offer a variety of ways in which you can approach combat. Your arsenal consists of Melee and ranged weapons as well as offensive abilities (Psi and Bio), there are multiple types of melee and ranged weapons allowing for the creation of very unique and numerous playstyles.

    The extensive crafting system is a min-maxers dream allowing you to heavily focus your stats around your chosen playstyle, it's not revolutionary, however it is very well implemented, easy to use and also affects equipment appearance.

    If you long for a time when games were made to be fun and not to be some attempt at high "art" Bio-Mutant may very well be the game for you, I'm thoroughly enjoying my time with it and I'm sure you will too.    … Expand

    The world large and beautiful.the battles are fun but Challenging. I enjoyed biomutant so much that I'm doing a second playthrough. Game does start off slow with the tutorial which seems to hold yur hand more than it has to. The gear and weapon has a mass Variety.
    As well as a large choice of skills and abilities to unlock.

    graphics of this game is a joke, it seems a game from 2005 with very poor textures, bland world design and no attention to detail. Game is tedious, you are constantly interrupted by the narrator (even if you disable it!!!), no man this game deserves a zero rating

    If you think you will like this game get it. The gameplay is exactly what it looks like. I have zero complaints. I especially love the goofy characters, the way they talk, the way they look, and the crafting system is so cool. Toilet plunger stapled to a butcher knife? Check. Magic? Check. Upgrade systems galore :). I've never seen a game so panned that i liked. Usually critic reviews guide me but i think this is an 8.5 out of 10, but my son thinks it's an 11 so I'll compromise and rate it 10 for both of us. Get it if you can afford it or at least get it on sale in a month. Devs are also patching in new features they said. Just look at the biomutant reddit. It's full of love. Like i said, I've never disagreed with critics so badly before. I really don't understand why they panned it because after beating RE8 i needed another good game and i definitely got it. And the fact it was made by about 20 people blows my mind. Add in the pubkishers self aware jokes and you have a recipe for a winner. 10/10 would preorder again (i RARELY say that)    … Expand

    I don't entirely agree with a lot of the critic reviews. I don't think the game is hollow, I feel like it is a vibrant and oddly both dark and uplifting world that THQ Nordic has created. I'm astounded that such a small team was able to make such a big vibrant world. The combat is so-so, definitely some fun but not very rewarding, and some of the early game plot stuff was a bit of a drag,I don't entirely agree with a lot of the critic reviews.     Simply an incredible game to be made by so few people. It goes from less to more at all times and makes very wise decisions as soon as you delve into the video game. The narrator is the most prominent negative point but it is difficult for me to negatively assess the work of this small studio and that it has brought us an adventure of exploration that is very worthwhile.

It stunk not finding a needed suit for the environment like the no-oxygen zone. The story is really lame and wants you to choose going for the light/good side. Although it looks open-world it’s really pretty linear with waypoints to next events. It has extremelySimply put- I hated Biomutant!     okay, i'm not going to recommend this game. in order to better explain how i feel about this game i'm going to compare it to ordering a pizza (stick with it)

    so you order a pepperoni pizza normally right, you've got you toppings and it all tastes good together (when doesn't pizza taste good) a Biomutant pizza would be a pizza in a box, but instead of everything being combined    okay, i'm not going to recommend this game. in order to better explain how i feel about this game i'm going to compare it to ordering a pizza (stick with it)

    so you order a pepperoni pizza normally right, you've got you toppings and it all tastes good together (when doesn't pizza taste good)

    a Biomutant pizza would be a pizza in a box, but instead of everything being combined together to form a wonderful delicious circle of happiness. what it actually is, is a box containing-

    a base
    some pepperoni
    some sauce
    some cheese.

    that's what Biomutant is like, it *should* be really great but it's just not combined in a way that makes it enjoyable. (well to me anyway)

    After getting my GameStop pre-order early I have been able to play the game for 40 hours and Biomutant is an interesting game that takes elements from devil may cry, Horizon zero dawn and zelda breath of the wild. I think the main campaign was not that good. I also had some technical issues on my PS5 with several bugs, one game breaking.     Biomutant has very repetitive missions and poor puzzles; they all feel really similar and give a small variety. This game's repetitiveness reminds me of Ubisoft open world games which end up having a strong first 1-2 hours and then it falls off then picks up within the last 2 hours of the game.

    Overall Biomutant doesn't bring anything new to the table for open world action RPGs and copies a lot of other games and does everything worse than them . So Biomutant ends up being a 6-10 for me which I wish I could give a better score because I have been waiting for this game for years and it's very disappointing.    … Expand

    For on open-world action RPG developed by a handful of people, Biomutant makes a very striking impression. It’s hard for me to imagine someone not falling in love with the beautiful, unique world conjured up by Experiment 101. Sure, the game as a whole is not perfect, but if a sequel is ever created, I’ll be the first in line to play it. [07/2021, p.38]

    From creating your own character to a wide array of vehicles and a unique world, there’s a lot to love in Biomutant – which makes its shallowness all the more disappointing. The inconsistent battle system and the amount of bugs doesn’t make things any better. While the game certainly knows how to hook you, the fun doesn’t last very long.

    Biomutant tries to do a lot of interesting things. It offers a potentially captivating world and unique crafting mechanics. Even the combat's fine, on the surface. The game, however, doesn't exactly play well, with clumsy controls, repetitive missions and an overemphasis on drawn-out dialogue that bores instead of inspires. This really could (and should) have been a lot better than it is.
