Somehow Beyond Eyes is able to turn even its flaws into a positive.

Beyond Eyes offers a unique concept with the blind girl, that is wonderful in gameplay mechanics and watercolor graphics. But it can get boring. It’s a game that should be completed in one sitting. It's a good idea, although it isn't perfectly executed.

The idea was great, but Beyond Eyes can't really convey feelings or even narrate a decent and concrete story. Quite sad, considering its potential.

The game could learn from its pint-sized protagonist. [Dec 2015, p.91]

Beyond Eyes is an incredibly admirable game. Its aim of simulating the experience of being blind is buoyed by a clever central conceit, and genuinely breathtaking presentation. Unfortunately, an exceedingly frustrating pace combined with a lackluster story means that the title ultimately buckles under the weight of its own ambition.

Beyond Eyes may be worth playing if you can find the game on sale, but it doesn’t offer too much new to people who enjoy these types of games. On the other hand, if you have a young one or want to introduce games to someone, this may be the game.

Despite the fact that the game is only two or three hours long (depending on how lost a player gets) I found it to be absolutely unbearable. I became so bored with the lack of interesting things to see and do that I literally put a rubber band on my controller's left stick to keep her moving for long stretches of time, which gives an idea of how interactive Beyond Eyes is. I badly wanted to quit after the first thirty minutes, but I was determined to see where the story was going. Naturally, the ending was a total non-event and not worth the time and aggravation.

Beyond Eyes is a third person linear game in which you control a young girl looking for her cat. I won't comment on the story, because thatBeyond Eyes is a third person linear game in which you control a young girl looking for her cat. I won't comment on the story, because that would mean there actually is one. You complete levels by walking through them, and since the girl is blind, you have to uncover levels as you walk, giving the feeling of blindness. This is an interesting mechanic, but wears thin after the first level. The level design is especially poor, and makes an entire playthrough difficult and grating. Overall, there aren't very many good qualities about the game. Full Review »

Ele te mostra o desespero de como é ser cego e faz isso de uma forma que eu consigo ver que não vai agradar todo mundo.

This is a good game. It is not as good as some other art games, but it is definitely worth playing. I see many of the negative reviews sayingThis is a good game. It is not as good as some other art games, but it is definitely worth playing. I see many of the negative reviews saying the story is too basic. It is true that the story isn't that complex, but that's not the point of the game. The game is more focused on art than narrative. Think of it like a painting that you play through. It's about a blind girl looking for her cat, and there isn't much more to the story than that, but there doesn't need to be. Full Review »
