When Nani goes missing Rae finally gains the courage to go outside for the first time on an wonderful and life changing journey to find her missing friend. The world outside is frightening and unfamiliar but, with the guidance of the player, Rae learns to overcome her fears and finds beauty and possible new friends outside of her golden cage. … Expand

    If I could give Beyond Eyes more stars, I would. Rarely does a character emotion become so pronounced in my own being. When Rae was delighted, I’d laugh with excitement. When Rae was scared, I cowered alongside her. When Rae was upset I was quite literally found sobbing in the fetal position until the wave of emotion passed.

    The visual style is very unique and captivating, the quiet storytelling with the focus on experiencing the world based on perception and expectation is a breath of fresh air. But it all feels very safe. In the end you are not Rae’s guardian or protector but rather a companion on her travels.

    Beyond Eyes has to be commended for expressing a complicated idea so well and in such a unique way. It's almost worth experiencing just for that aspect alone. Unfortunately, as a high-concept empathy game that overrelies on the concept, it doesn't manage to move past its own cleverness.

    Beyond Eyes is an experience like no other. Beautiful and touching... but damn slow. There is virtually nothing to accomplish. Just walking and listening very repetitive sounds, chapter after chapter. Only the gamers that want to live something very unique will embrace this journey. Others will be quickly bored.

    We didn't expect much from Beyond Eyes and the short two hours we needed to complete the game proved us right. From an artistic point of view, the game is quite seducing but there are so few things to do there that it quickly becomes boring.

    Yes, this game is "Pretty" and "Creative" but if you ignore those things, this game is just bad. I played for about half an hour and I couldn't go on.

The only reason you really need to play this is you can finish it and earn all the achievement in around three to four hours which would be a lot quicker if it doesn't take Rae 15 minutes to get from one side of the bridge to the other.. This and Overruled! serve as massive stains in Team 17's library.… Expand

    OMG this is, by far, the worst game I have ever played in my entire life. And I played the original Atari 2600 ET game, so I don't say thisOMG this is, by far, the worst game I have ever played in my entire life. And I played the original Atari 2600 ET game, so I don't say this lightly. At least ET could walk relatively fast. Basically all you do in this game is walk. SLOWLY. You walk SO SLOWLY in random directions, eventually reaching the current objective (whether it be a gate, a bridge, a crosswalk, some butterflies, etc.). In fact watch any youtube video of it, they speed the game up 400% just so viewers won't gouge their eyes out watching.

    I'm convinced any positive reviews of this game is the latest version of "Rick Rolling" somebody. I've renamed this tactic "Rae Rolling" (the girls name in the game). It goes like this. Person 1: "Hey man, just played this awesome new game Beyond Eyes. You should play it!" Person 2: "Cool. Looks interesting. Heres my $15....WHAT THE?!?!?!?!" Person 1: "AHAHAHAH!! Rae Rolled!!!"

    In fact the latest way I like to annoy my family is to walk around the house as slow as I can, occasionally yelling out "Nani!" Believe me, drives my family crazy just like it drove me crazy playing this game.
    And no, there is no surprise ending. Ending is obvious I knew how it would end midway through the game (not "spoiling" it but it is obvious). Whatever you do, do not play this game if you value your sanity. Or, maybe I'll be hip and Rae Roll you. Go ahead and play! It's AWESEOME!!!    … Expand
