The multi-player is fun, crisp and fluid, and balanced (Operations mode is absolutely fantastic.), and the single player campaign is done very well, albeit nontraditional (5 separate campaigns about 90 minutes each.). While it's definitely sitll to be known if this game will be able to have the lasting appeal that previous Battlefields have (the season pass will help with that.), it's a must own for any FPS fan. Even if one isn't a FPS military fan, the game is still just so much fun. Highly recommend. Expand

Die Kampagne ist nicht schlecht für einen Multiplayer Titel, jedoch niemals mit einem klassischen Single FPS zu vergleichen. Grafik ist top. Der Multiplayer Part ist für Anfänger unspielbar, leider. Wahrscheinlich weil gerade so viele Pros spielen.

The atmosphere DICE has created in Battlefield 1 is simply genius. You really do feel like a part of the game. Guns look and sound amazing, same for vehicles. Campaign is quite good aswell (it's normally not). All in all I highly recommend Battlefield 1 for any FPS lover, the game is great and the skill curve is high.

Famously balanced maps from different battlefields of first world war. Every map have entertain me (first time in Battlefield for me). Just hope for more locations in DLCs.

If you're into online multiplayer FPS, this is the must-have of 2016, regardless of the platform you're playing on. It's the package as a whole that stands out. Beautiful graphics, more destruction than ever, great atmosphere, well put together maps and some fresh multiplayer modes like Operations and War Pigeons. Also a decent single player is included. While the BF franchise failed miserable when it came to SP experience in previous iterations, Dice now hits back in full force with a strong narrative covering the awe and agony of several characters.

Operations feels like the new main Battlefield mode. A full match spans across multiple games, spread over 2 or 3 different maps. The full map is divided into multiple sectors, where the attacking team must capture all points within a sector in order to move onto the next. When all sectors are captured, the battle moves onto the next map. The attacking team only has a limited number of tickets (respawns), and loses when it fails to capture all sectors before they run out of tickets. The attacking team gets three chances. After failing a first time, the ticket counter is reset, a special vehicle like an airship is brought in for support and the fight starts from the last taken sector. Each operation is surrounded with a narrative giving context to the battle, and how different outcomes could have changed the course of the war drastically. This emphasizes how well finished this game is.

+ Best graphics ever seen for almost fully destructible environments
    + Music
+ Atmosphere. Be ready for some bone chilling moments
+ Both SP and MP well worked out
+ A lot of good MP maps. I didn't find any that I don't really like, which is a first for me considering all possible MP shooters.
    + Operations mode
+ Lots of experience customization possible (like crosshair color and thickness to name one)

    - Framedrops in Conquest mode (only occasional in other large modes)
    - Aim assist is a little overdone. Should be more subtle when activated
    - Laggy menus

Battlefield 1 is a great game, but the people giving it 10's are crazy or haven't played the game long enough. The single player is a solid 10. It's super fun, immersive and tells a great story... but it's pretty short. The graphics throughout the game are gorgeous, and everything is perfectly fluid.

The single player campaign is fresh and original, the way it's been constructed into 5 mini stories as opposed to one new one. this has you going from extreme to extreme, always in a different style of action. from driving a tank to flying a plane to sneaking around the desert, it has something for everyone. This creates powerful little set pieces and being all based on real events, the characters and their plights resonate with the player.
That said, it's al a little too short, at just around 6 hours it's not enough, but heck that doesn't take away from the fact that it's a breath of fresh air in an era of stale modern shooters.
The multiplayer sticks to the tried and tested battlefield formula and delivers much more, classics like conquest and rush return and an even bigger mode, operations will test even the best of players/. I never did like these huge maps as their often chaotic, being spawned into a crumbling building or running all the way to an objective to get picked off by some fella who's figured out how to perform 2000m headshots. Still, as a TDM fan I'm covered, whilst out of place the TDM still plays like battlefield and still feels great, on fantastic, dynamic maps with awesome guns.
The visuals, for a console edition, are sublime, crisp textures and fantastic lighting and insane draw distance, I can image this looking ridiculous on PlayStation pro. Sadly having witnessed it on ultra at 1440p on a gaming rig, PS4 doesn't even come close. The sound are fantastic and guns sound and feel spot on, with screams of agony and the sounds of distant fire fights this game truly captures the essence and feel of war and damn it feels good to play.
Campaign 8/10 dropped some points for length
Multiplayer 7/10 this is a personal rating - I just suck at the huge game modes
    Graphics 9/10
    Realism 10/10
    Overall 8.5/10

When I first played this game I felt frustrated. It felt like your playing your match with your least favorite gun.
-the hit detection is not absolute.
-crazy recoil, machinegun shoots like UZI
-slow reload speed (some rifles reloads like pump shotguns indivisual bullet reloads)
-you cannot slide 2 meter anymore since there is no boost pack and you cannot jump 10 meters and dunk on enemy's face. The movement feels somewhat more restrict than other fps we recently played.

YEAH I was so used to futuristic fps too and forgot that glory feelings of realistic war game. I count my bullets because long reload can kill me, I don't spray because it gets no where, (remember vmp, vesper, hvk, etc all those ultra guns that can kill anyone from close to middle range by spraying? It won't happen here. Your holding guns with 5-to 10 bullets capacity you will want every bullet counts)

Yeah so if your used to futuristic shooters like my self it will be frustrated at first. Bare with it for some time , I'm sure you will get used to it and play the first most realistic world war shooter till date.

Campaign as usual is garbage that contains uninteresting characters and some pretty sound and graphics. But who cares about graphics and sound when the campaign is only 4 HOURS!

The mutliplayer is probably the worst multiplayer I've seen in a while. There's 2-3 loading screens during matches and you constantly spawn next to enemy tanks. Even if you don't spawn next to an enemy you'll just survive before some horse that can soak up 40 bullets comes at you and instantly kills you in 1 hit. Or you get killed by an enemy that spawned next to you and kills you in 1-2 shots. The mutliplayer only includes 9 maps, no doubt the other maps will be locked behind the $50 "Premium Pass".

In the end Battlefield 1 has good sounds and graphics but the campaign and multiplayer is garbage. I've lost hope in the Battlefield francise, I can only hope it dies a painless death. So go ahead and "downvote" my review, fanboys. I honestly don't care anymore.

I'm really enjoying some aspects of this game - my review is focused on the multiplayer since I have no interest in the campaigns. It feels fresh, the weapons are generally balanced, the maps all look great, flying planes and driving vehicles is fun - I could not stop laughing as I rolled a heavy tank full of people down a mountainside without taking any damage on one map. That said, what is up with horses? Why can't you use regular weapons on them? Why is the trample detection so janky? I ran over a guy laying in front of me three times in a row with my horse and he just shot me off, which made me feel like a total idiot. Also, why did DICE make the rear facing machine guns on planes so powerful? Those machine guns do so much more damage than the actual machine guns on the fighter planes that it is nearly impossible to destroy a plane you're chasing if that plane has even a decent gunner on board. Why do you have to unlock pistols for every class, and why do different classes have different pistols? They're just pistols. Let me get a decent pistol for the scout class; the class is already bad enough for close quarters combat. The final scout rifle you unlock is a joke; it's no more powerful than the ones you unlock at level 1, though it shoots one bullet before you have to reload. Anti air guns, even if they don't hit your plane cause it to bounce around as if it is entering a sharknado. I'm sure I could go on, but as I've indicated, the game is not perfect; and some of the 'balancing' Dice has done since the beta (the light tank, it shoots so incredibly slow and is so much weaker now that I personally find it nearly useless) has actually made certain features that were overpowered so underpowered that they've become useless. I instantly fell in love with bf1 during storm of steel (the intro mission). EA and DICE have captured ww1 so well and send us on an emotional rollercoaster. I used to work as a ww1 tour guide in france, teaching school children about the Great War but I think they might as well introduce the game in schools. The graphics are the best I have ever seen, showing breathtaking landscapes, animations (explosions are just amazing) and its representation of no mans land is astounding. They have paid attention to every little detail, even having loads of trench rats runnin around. The music will tug at your heart and soul and drown you into the game as if you were literally in there. Gameplay is very fluid and rewarding. There is also a very well made campaign and multiplayer is top of pile great stuff. This game will literally be my number 1 game for a few years. Battlefield 1’s campaign tells the story of 6 different characters during the First World War...
Each of the 6 chapters take place in different places of the world, and they all feel unique from one another….
You’ll take to the ground, air, and shadows…
You’ll be a tank searching for a friend… you’ll drive a tank trying to take control of the land, take to the sky as a gambler with a hint that maybe things didn’t happen the way he says it did, stealth through areas as a woman trying to sabotage war plans and destroy an armored train, and an Australian runner slicing through the trenches…
The campaign in total will take about 5 an a half hours long to complete give or take, all depending on how often you die..
And you will... a lot, as this game is brutal even on its normal difficulty…
If you’re an aggressive players, you’re not going to do too well in all but 1 chapter as you can only take about 3 hits and you’re dead… and the checkpoints can be complete garbage at time...
Especially considering how large locations are…
For the most part, this isn’t just a run and gun linear shooter… when you touch ground you’re on a massive battlefield crawling with enemies…
You have the choice to mark them all from a vantage point... sneak around them all with distractions or just avoiding them, sneak behind them for a quiet melee… get involved in a gun fight, the option for the most part is up to you, but there are many sections that force you to clear the area of enemies..
Gunplay in this game can be pretty frustrating as again... 3 shots and you’re dead…
all cover can be destroyed including houses, you do regenerate health, but it feels like an eternity before it will start, and hit detection in this game is far from perfect…
Keep in mind I’m talking single player here.. Meaning internet connection isn’t at fault...
Many times my bullets would go right through enemies doing no damage at all…
But I only found this to be the case in single player, no noticeable problems in multiplayer...
There are also annoying enemy variants like flamethrower guys and heavy armor guys who are invulnerable to bullets…
You can kill the heavy with a grenade, but the flamethrower guy is invulnerable against bullets and grenades... he can only be killed by shooting his tank…
Which you’d think a grenade would be fine for this, but no.. it’s not… really breaking immersion throwing in video gamey enemies like this when everything else feels so real…
The camera would also get a little awkward when I would try to run and find cover, which is a real frustration when you’re taking part in a section of the chapter with tanks or the armored train…
Especially since again, the checkpoints are so unforgiving and they can all instakill your character…
These sections take time.. A lot of time… and patience... as well as a handful of other stealthy sections that can sometimes feel like they’re plucked out of a hitman game with their punishment for detection…
These levels are absolutely gorgeous though, and I cared about all 6 characters during my brief time with them…
The single player gameplay just unfortunately lacks a hint of polish which stops the campaign from ever wowing me…
What did wow me however was the multiplayer…
The maps are well designed.. The mayhem of zeppelins, tanks, horses, and airplanes is almost magic…
You never really think of perspective in multiplayer games... people are usually for the most part doing the same thing as you, but better or worse…
A bunch of chickens running around with their heads cut off…
Here however, it’s such a great feeling to sit back and realize that everything you see going on, is another person having an entirely different perspective than you are…
Controlling airships.. Planes…taking them out... riding horseback into a battle zone…
It really breathes life into the competitive gaming realm…
Battlefield essentially has 6 different game types…
domination with is your typical capture and hold, rush witch is an attack and defend game, team death match where most kills wins… , war pigeons which is essentially a capture the flag match.. Get the pigeon, release the pigeon, and stop enemies from doing the game.
conquest, which is capture and hold but with complete mayhem going on… a true feeling of war…
and finally operations, which gives a back story to each of the fighting locations.. Here you either try to gradually capture all sections by capturing and holding 1 to 3 separate spots of a map or defend these sections by filling a kill counter...
Battlefield offers something here for everyone… a solid single player experience good enough to stand on its own... and a brilliant multiplayer that brings the multiplayer genre to new heights...
    I give battlefield 1...
