    Wow, just wow.

BF1 changed the game literally. The scene, feel any way you play this game was something totally different. An almost perfect game. Battlefield 1 is a beautiful take on the battlefield seiries, focusing more on real-world events rather than coming up with its own war. Great for every shooter fan out there and the peak of the seiries.

Guns are ok, i mean, it's a time when technology in fire arms started developing on a new level, but they are in some way balanced and offer unique play style, some of them... Singleplayer wasn't that bad, i like this "war stories" that they introduced, not all of them were great but my favorites must be the "Trough mud and blood" and "The Runner". The DLCs could've been a lot better, im talking about last two, The turning tides weapons and maps were good, Cape helles and achi baba are one of my favorite map in entire game, the north sea ones are good. I just wish that they added more maps and even a new faction like Serbia and Bulgiaria. One of things that i really dislike about battlefield 1 is that it is a ww1 game, but it doesn't include Serbia and i am from Serbia. There could've been a really good maps to play, like Serbia vs Austro-Hungaria or even Serbia vs Bulgaria and it could've brought a good operiation, a gamemode which i also like. The other DLC, the Apocalypse was really a wasted potential... Overall, i really love this game and it has a special place in my heart and. It was my introduction to Battlefield games and i wish that Dice would made one day another WW1 battlefield game. 9/10 Expand

Battlefield 4 is more addictive. And 1 has too few online trophies, and Bad Company 2 had such fun helicopters and jeeps where in comparison 1 feels like a lite version of the more hectic modern games.

Also, it seems they adjusted the health-bar so that soldiers die faster from less damage. So there are few real shootouts, more instant deaths just when an enemy pops into view. Maybe

Scoring system in the game is horrendous.. If one team gets up a couple hundred points early on, it is impossible to overcome.. You almost always know which team will win by the first 5 minutes of the game or so. The matchmaking is horrible, which has always been true of Battlefield games... You'll start a game with 30 people on one team, 20 on another, and the 30 person team builds a big enough lead before the other team fills up to guarantee them a win. Lastly, the guns kill too fast, which has been a trend of Battlefield games over the last 10 years..It's not something I appreciate.. I don't like getting shot in the back with a couple bullets and dying before I can turn around and engage the enemy.. I guess I'm in the minority in this thinking, but it's extremely frustrating to me.. I don't get any sense of accomplishment when I walk up behind a dude and waste him in 2 seconds either. Battlefield 1 is the latest in Dice's FPS franchise and the development team have taken the game back to World War I setting going back to classic world war shooters of the 90s and 00s

    Positives:

+Awesome World War I setting. Have been saying for years that World War I is an underused era for First Person Shooters and while its not as realistic as other World War I games Dice have done a great job in making it feel like World War I with the environments, vehicles and weapons.

+ The new Tanks. The new tanks are a fantastic addition to the franchise. Choosing what tank best suits your strategy or the teams needs adds variety to the game modes.

+ New airships/train/battleship reinforcements. These new additions can really help during a game in which would usually come off as vastly imbalanced. Depending on the gap in the scores the losing team in certain modes gets reinforcements in the shape of a tank/ an airship or a train depending on the map. I rarely see a game with a large score gap as the reinforcement vehicles do a great job of balancing up the teams.

+ The new bayonet charging mechanic. A nice new mechanic that suits the World War I era as bayonets were commonly used. Its also a good last resort weapon if you run out of ammo and the other time you would have to be close to your enemy but you can switch between using a normal melee and the charging bayonet.

+ Single player. Over the years the battlefield series has lost its footing with the single player campaign trying to duplicate what COD did with modern warfare only for it to seem badly written or over patriotic. The BF1 campaign is a surprisingly good campaign certainly making it one of the best campaigns of battlefield in recent years.

+Soundtrack. The new soundtrack is an absolute wonder in this game and really adds to the games and adrenaline rush you have while playing. I still sometimes get goosebumps when charging over the hills and the heroic soundtrack blares out over the gunfire. Its such a fantastic feeling.

+Operations mode. A new mode that allows players to relive certain battles of World War I with having two teams of attack and defence with the attacking team's objective to capture all objectives which is spread out over two maps. The attacking team gets 3 battalions to capture all objectives to win the round.

    Negatives:

    - Environments are too open for snipers. It seems that Dice tried a mix of open areas mixed with closed village quarters but unfortunately even the villages are too open for snipers and since World War I has mainly rifles it makes it all too easy for long range weapons to hit their target.

    - Operations mode was fun for the first week but has suddenly turned to become a very frustrating mode which is largely imbalanced. The attacking team can barely make it past the first 2 objectives in most maps and 19 out of 20 times they will lose. A lot of it is down to the inept players who don't think about any strategy but it always ends the same way. Dice will need to balance it out if they want people to continue to play it.

    - The campaign has too many characters and is too short. Only 5 hours long with 5 different characters it tries to make the player care about the characters in the stories but when the stories are so short and there are too many characters it is hard to feel any empathy towards them.

    - Locking squads is a baffling decision by Dice. I don't understand the point of allowing players to lock squads. It completely disregards the point of teamwork and the squads itself. Most of the time I play I see 1 or 2 players in a squad by themselves and its locked. Just makes no sense and needs to be taken out.

    - Frostbite physics are still awkward. So many times my player has refused to jump a small object or get stuck in something tiny. The driving physics for the motorcycles and trucks are really weird and the handling is all over the place.

    - Gas grenade is abused. Anywhere around an objective players throw 4-5 gas grenades and while everyone puts on masks it feels like the battlefront game where everyone was hip firing and hoping to kill the other player first.

    - Unable to spawn on squad member under fire. I don't understand why I cant. By all means warn me but surely its my decision whether I want to spawn on a squad member being shot at.

    - Skipping the spawn waiting time. Another mechanic which allows the player to skip the re-spawn waiting time only to then wait to re-spawn at a chosen location. Absolutely zero point to it and players don't wait for medics and instantly re-spawn which discourages medics to bother being medics.

Overall the first 20 hours of this game are a blast and I had a lot of fun with it but over the last 10-15 hours I am enjoying it less and less and I played over 300 hours of Battlefield 4 and it never bored me. Its a step in the right direction as I love the World War settings but there's a lot to be fixed as well.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is a solid one. But...

    the good:
+The game force you to play objectives over Rambo kill. This is not a spawn kill game anymore, at last, no like bf 1943 where spawn kill is the real way to win.
+ tanks still overpowered. Yes, tanks need to be overpowered, is a f*king TANK! tanks were a new invention in ww1 and they were the fear of every one. indeed u have many effective ways to destroy them.
+ no hackers on console, or may be there are but really few. Actually hackers are a big problem for the PC version, EA you need to work on that, it is one of the few problems on pc version but a BIG one. FIX IT!
+ New mode called OPERATIONS. this mode is a brilliant idea, it is a mirror of how war really is. The match can be really long.
+ The campaign mode has a very good storytelling.
+ The gameplay, graphics and sound are 10/10. Thanks DICE for your awesome job.
+ the colossus weapons. they big war machines the game give to the lose team when the game is half ended. (Armored train, a zeppelin and a battleship.)

    the bad:
    - the campaign mode is good but to short, about 5 hours. An ideal campaign mode should be minimum 12 hours for a shooter, especially a WW1 shooter were many, many things happened. History is big, an the campaign to short.
    - no russian or french soldiers so, no russian or french weapons. This is a big disappointment for a game taking place in WW1. They said it will be sale in expansion pack. but, but, i have payed 70$ for a complete game!!!! this expansion should be free. Take example on Rockstar, EA, they sale millions of copies of GTA 5 because they did a complete game and expansions are for free!
    - only 9 maps for lunch day. A new one coming for free in dec, i hope a night map. Anyway, maps still really big like in previous release, thanks for that.

the game have positive and negative points, like any other game. so, i want to thanks EA and DICE for bringing us a really nice era of the human history for a badass FPS game.

But this games bread and butter, at least for the cost of $60, is clearly in the multiplayer. This is where most players will probably spend their time and justify their expense. For me, I just cannot get into the multiplayer. I don't understand it, and I am not good at it. I feel like I am running around like a chicken with its head cut off, not sure where to go next and what to do, and when I finally get a small sense of direction and what my goal is - I die! Wait for the respawn and then hop in and do it again. It is just "wash and repeat" for me, which is no fun. To be fair this is how all multiplayer games are for me, not just this game. If you love multiplayer games, then this game will probably be for you. But those who are looking for a nice satisfying single-player campaign (which I would give a 9 score for that), I would wait for the price to come down to around $25. It is a really nice campaign, just too short to spend $60 in my opinion. I made the mistake of buying this game digitally (my bag). Now I am stuck with a game I may only play one more time in the single-player. Should have bought disc and then sold for $45 on Glyde, but lesson learned I hope. Expand

For me the are a couple of important issues with this game though. performance on this PS4 version when playing large battles is poor, quite poor actually. The other issues for me is that I miss all the extra add-ons for the weapons that make the multiplayer a lot richer. Seems to be a bit of lack of content in my opinion. Battlepacks feel quite lame to me, I don't see the point in unlocking visuals although I do quite like the new medals system.

Snipers will have their way with you for sure as I can tell no distinguishable difference from getting shot at 50 yards or 1000 and on the big maps, and they are big, the distance you run only to be sniped 100 yards from the objective can be a big ol B. However, it makes you stop and plan your route unlike the linear CoD maps, and that gives Battlefield the realistic feel the fans have come to love. I can feel $150 worth of DLC coming, though, and that sucks.

BF1's multiplayer is just as good as Battlefield's multiplayer has always been, with tanks, planes, blimps and intense infantry combat to boot. The only "meh" part of the game is the campaign, which has always been a weak link in the Battlefield series, that quite frankly needs to get fixed now. Call of Duty nailed the campaign in Modern Warfare, why can't the developers at Dice hit the bar right too?
Overall, Battlefield 1 is an excellent shooter that helps make the dying CoD franchise become at bit more irrelevant. Activi$ion better have a good trick up their sleeve if they want to beat this game's resounding success.

Aside from BF2 and Bad Company 2 this is the best BF game to date. They unlike Activision listened to there fans to bring a WW1 setting that many people didn't think would work, but they did pull it off. With destructible environments and fun gameplay as ever.

Ok so the first thing i noticed was how bare BF1 is compared to past games. (more on that later)

This is not a perfect 10 by any long shot (pun intended) but the multiplayer is solid and connection issues are few and far between. But there are some annoying bugs and the lack of customisation is a let down too, the battlepacks are given out randomly and only ever contain weapon skins.

EA seem to have included some Battlefront style pick ups too, like the suit or armour (cant remember what its called) which basically feels like the Juggernaut perk from older Call of Duty games.

The gameplay online is also very much like its competition, you will spawn behind enemies and they will spawn behind you. The maps are much more compact and encourage rushing in, the focus is now on ground combat it seems.

It all feels a little barren and here's whats missing (at launch) that was present in past BF games:

    *Commander Mode
    *Hardcore
    *Customisation of soldier
    *Customisation of weapons
    *Squad game modes

These are my impressions of multiplayer at launch, im sure EA will patch a lot of whats broken (like those damn horses) but as it is, today, its good but just not great.

An inauthentic WWI experience. The majority of weaponry in this game are prototypes that never saw the light of day, core time to kill has been slightly fixed but there are some guns that feel weaker than they should be, the speed of combat is still 200% and unfortunately makes the game an arcade twitch-shooter hyped up on speed. Campaign-wise every war story is "creative liberty" including Lawrence of Arabia's chapter.

It's single player campaign stories, called War Stories, are told through the eyes of 6 different people all fighting in the same war which was spread throughout Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa. The characters and stories are well written and well acted, with a couple exceptions. (The Australian kid, did not sound Australian)

The single player campaign feels as if Dice were not willing to gamble the time and money on developing a deeper and longer story, as the Battlefield franchise is mostly aimed towards the multiplayer fanbase. The single player campaign is a great way to teach new players the mechanics of multiplayer without boring you with a shallow narrative but I am still waiting for something to top the story of 'Brother's In Arms - Hell's Highway'.
I just hope the developers at Dice hear enough positive feedback to maybe focus on developing a full story next time around, because it was really enjoyable.

The sound design and visuals are the best I have seen and heard in a video game. From the sound of tanks moving closer, to the silhouettes of enemies piercing through fog, to the sound of bombs falling from planes overhead, to the massive destruction they bring to the landscape and buildings around you. Simply amazing.

As for the multiplayer, it is everything the single player campaign has to offer all condensed into amazingly designed maps which are a joy to play. This game is a must have for anyone who loves FPS and even for new players to the genre, I would highly recommend this.

-1 ici

BF1 NEEDS DLC unfortunately.

    Rant aside,

This game is very, very good and gameplay/graphics wise this is the most polished and enjoyable BF game to date IMO.
Solid multiplayer, which with the addition of Operations mode, it literally feels like war and because of this I had some of the most enthralling MP experiences I have ever had in a video game.
A surprisingly enjoyable campaign for which I decided to replay and collect all codex entries and unlock the platinum for it. (fairly easy, 30~ trophies).

This is because there is almost always bound to be some sort of surprise had in store, be it from a plane crash missing you by an inch or a tank popping up out of nowhere and blasting you to oblivion. And during all of this action packed excitement the game pulls off the task of looking great.

Because of this the game succeeds in immersing you in the action. The serious tone that it took accompanied by a piano-laden music score and solemn narration creates an internal consistency and gives the game a more mature undertone.

Nevertheless, the game does suffer sometimes from performance issues. This seemed to occur to me the most when playing medic, as I'd toss out my medic pack and nothing would happen for a full five seconds, which is a bigger deal than it seems when every second counts in battle.

Furthermore, the campaign suffers, like most other Battlefield games. Battlefield 1's campaign is certainly better than its two predecessors, but that isn't saying much. Often times the emotion that they were trying to convey in the story felt underwhelming due to lack of complex writing and uninteresting gameplay. There are a few good moments, but those are somewhat far and between.

Overall, however, Battlefield 1 really makes up for its faults in the absolutely stellar multiplayer experience, an experience that contains much more depth (the ability to customize, the historical accuracy, the map design, etc) than other multiplayer games like Overwatch.

Having it take place in a time period that is often not touched by developers is a welcome change of pace. It has a decent amount of content to keep one invested, and the two map packs that recently came out change enough to make them good, if unnecessary editions to the game.

In terms of graphics, the game is gorgeous, and often times looks like it could be photo realistic. There is some minor issues with character model glitches but other than that it is still fantastic. The sound design is great as well, with all the guns sounding like they have real firepower behind them.

The gameplay is also very good, though a bit arcade-y. Being able to drive and fly in vehicles from the time period is great, and the shooting is a lot of fun, but the prevalence of automatic firearms is a bit odd considering the time period wouldn't have that many and mostly had bolt action rifles. The spawning of vehicles and planes from outside the map is also something I'm personally not a fan of, as I like having the vehicles on map to get in at any time. But the overall gameplay is fun and is challenging enough to make you want to come back.

The Campaign, or "War Stories", are an interesting addition. Most of them are pretty well made, having a good production value behind them, though I feel like focusing on only 1 of the campaigns, and making it longer and have better character development would've been a better idea. The lack of any campaign for the central powers was also a missed opportunity, especially considering the rather "Gray" nature of the first World War.

Overall, it is a fun game and a nice addition to the Battlefield franchise, and I think we will see a rise in shooting games from the world war period again due to its success, and nowadays, I think this will be a welcome change.

Battlefield 1 offers crazy huge scale battles, intense moments, huge sprawling maps and fun and realistic shooting. The teamwork aspect is great and the game is just plain beautiful. The story mode is pretty generic however they have some fun moments and really shed light on certain aspects of the war. The feeling of shooting a plain out of the sky or barley missing an explosion are moments that feel exclusive to what Battlefield offers.

Bom. O online é a melhor parte do jogo.

great game! just super! excellent shooting ,not casual, hit felt ,but enraged that it is necessary to resurrect a simple syringe ,not some bandages , tourniquets or other ,it would make the game more interesting, but would kill the team game (because of the time of treatment)

I wasn't disappointed at all, the Campaign is great, even if it is short but it lefts a great impact and you will surely want to replay it once more after a while. The graphics is amazing, so many details and effects, sounds are accurate and well-made. But still when you want to approach this game as a war simulation, it isn't so accurate, the multiplayer is still just running all the time, being killed in the most stupid way or being killed by a sniper from the other side of the map. All in all a great game worth being played even after all this years, but still it isn't perfect, the singleplayer is the best part, but the multplayer modes needs improvement. Expand

Despite a very short campaign, Battlefield 1 still offers the best single-player experience in the series. Mix it with a huge, brilliant multi-player that the series is known for and you have an almost complete package. Definitely the best approach to World War 1 yet.

The rougher edges of WWI make Battlefield a louder, fiercer, more engaging shooter. But the carefully interwoven campaign and multiplayer aspects show a more reflective side. [Christmas 2016, p.86]
