Batman: The Telltale Series started strong and ended the same way, and with many characters’ fates left undecided and new characters appearing in the final act, a second season seems inevitable — I look forward to it.

Perhaps Batman: The Telltale Series’ greatest flaw is inconsistency; playing each episode separately can make some of the weaknesses of the lesser episodes, like technical issues and poor pacing, more apparent in a way that most other Telltale series do not suffer from. But, for players who can dive into the full series all at once, Telltale’s Batman easily stands strong as one of the Dark Knight’s greatest video game outings, providing a gripping tale that clearly separates itself from a standard Batman affair.

Telltale Games’s take on the Dark Knight is a much-needed step forward in terms of placing gamers in Batman’s boots.

Fresh, agile action is what Batman, the new series of Telltale game is about. Fantastic OST and Troy Baker as Bruce. Telltale needs to take care of some issues with the coding of their games so they can be perfect.

Telltale keeps making the same mistakes as usual, with technical issues that burden the overall experience. Even so, this Batman is interesting enough to keep you playing for the whole five chapters where Bruce Wayne gains the spotlight he didn't have outside comics.

With so many Dark Knight adventures in our movies, TV, comics, and video games, you have to do something special to stand out. In the first few episodes, it looked like Batman: The Telltale Series might actually bottle lightning and create something excellent. But as the finale rolls in, it series fails to separate itself from the many Batman outings we’ve already experienced elsewhere.

An underwhelming Batman game, but a great Bruce Wayne one. A satisfying counterpart to Rocksteady's Arkham games, but it won't win over Telltale naysayers. [Feb 2017, p.93]

Really enjoyed it. Was like experiencing a Batman comic through a different narrative.
Story was interesting, enjoyed the characters, didn't appreciate telltales unique take on the characters design at first but I have got to admit, It grew on me while playing the game.

Good game, recommend getting it on sale since it doesn't have much of a replay value.

Expand

It took classic Batman elements and told the story in a different way than we are used too. The only downside to it is that this is the only Telltale in which I felt my choices didn't matter. I replayed it and mostly there are small details that change but they don't deliver the same impact as other Telltale games. Expand

Lackluster story,Played this as I got it free a while ago for being a playstation plus member. Man, it was quite disappointing to be honest. Lackluster story, quite obvious plot. I do like a Telltale game, something that tells a story, is no effort to play where your choices have consequences. Something to play if you're tired and want to chill out to. However this ones quite dull, but as a Batman fan still has a few cool moments. DO Not let this game put you off of the second season called Batman The Enemy Within. That season is brilliant and is I'm my top 3 Telltale games yet! Expand

It’s technically very weak on PS4 (FPS drops and character movements that look super artificial), it has some annoying features that don’t bring any value such as the Linking, it can be extremely laggy (even the menus) and make you endure freezes or even app crashes (I got one) and finally it has many undesirable bugs such as characters who become invisible making the cinematic look like a joke.

Not everything is bad though. As I said, the intrigue is very slow to start, but once it’s started, it actually gets interesting and pretty well written. Moreover I think they did a very good job on what regards the artistic direction and the environments. Gotham feels very Gotham and in general the Batman universe vibe is heavily present. I think that this element and the story make it worth playing if you get it for free, but not otherwise.
