PC gamers are so mad that they lower the average user score lmao. Get a life, this game is absolutely perfect, no flaws in it. Such an incredible masterpiece.

When you thought that they couldn't improve upon the Arkham games any longer, I'm happy to say it has improved. The story is great, the graphics are great, and there's plenty of content. The only problem I have with it is the sometimes forced batmobile gameplay, but it isn't unbearable to the point of it detracting from the game. Worth picking up even if you aren't a batman fan.

This game is pretty good. There are a few issues like I had some issues with the batmobile controls and some of the tankcombat but this does not wreck the experience. Moving on to the review, the game is exceptional with splendid graphics for an open world game with amazing rain effects I have ever seen and light effects (Though the Witcher 3 had better light effects for the PS4) But nonetheless the graphics are phenomenal.
The story seems to be quite good though not something very memorable but still acceptable and good. I won't spoil it for you hence won't concentrate on this bit and not forgetting by the end the bat mobile can seem a bit over repetitive.
The music, sound and voice acting as usual is amazing combined with no loading screens and amazing cut scenes make the game even more immersive.
I would definitely recommend the PS4 version of this game or Xbox One and its definitely worth the price tag but we have to question whether the price tag of the DLC is really worth it? I think not and this should not be encouraged.

I'm cutting right to the chase, this game is a 10, so far in this generation of gaming I've been let down more then i've been thrilled, amazed, liked or even just felt content with a game i've been looking forward too, that all stops with Batman: Arkham Knight, this game lives up to all the hype, the hype that began with the surprisingly great Arkham asylum followed by the even better Arkham city, I was actually a little worried leading into Arkham knight because it wouldn't be the first time that a game studio knocked it outta the park with the first 2 games of a franchise only to come back with a disappointing 3rd entry, that is as far from the truth as I can get with Arkham Knight, this game delivers on every single aspect...

    Combat
    Gliding
    Driving
    Tank battles
    Detective segments
    Rescuing people
    mini boss encounters
    Major boss encounters

If you name it, this game has it in spades and in a surprising twist, this game actually has a lot of funny moments (That I refuse to spoil) and a few really dark moments that make excellent call backs to Batman's comic history, I was even surprised that there were actually a few jump scare moments that I wouldn't have associated with a Batman title, this truly feels like a Next gen title and the Graphics are second to none, he way the rain slides down Batman's mask and cape look extremely real that it's hard to imagine that it was all generated in a computer, to give this game a 10 feels like I'm under selling it but that's highest the scale goes, so a 10 it is.

The lighting effects in the city are colourful and can be seen from each end of the map, the sound is eery and suits the games overall mood. Performances by the voice actors are convincing although the same voices are used for all the normal enemies, John noble as scarecrow does a very good job and despite what some people have been saying I think batman is suitably voiced for the game. The batmobile can be a chore to use sometimes but it doesn't effect the overall experience in my opinion and does well to mix things up. Driving around the city in the batmobile can be thrilling as you get a good sense of speed and the controls are very responsive making you feel accomplished when you pull off a tight turn. It's the tank gameplay with the batmobile that can be a drag and it is used too often throughout the game. The normal batman mechanics such as the excellent combat and stealth sections are as good as ever.
The side missions are varied although some are better than others but none of them are bad. The story is the games strongest aspect followed by the batman gameplay, there are a lot of surprises in the game and you always want to play more. The game is brilliant don't listen to the negative reviews!

There are lots of cool new moves for Batman, like the slow motion takedowns, which you can chain into multiple ones.

The side missions are plenty. Though lots of them are rather redundant. You want to complete them just for the sake of completion, not because they really mean something. And having an open world with side missions like this is rather counter productive, as these side missions interrupt the narrative.

The presentation has been greatly improved. It's really like playing a movie. But there won't be any long cutscenes to put you into a passive position for too long.

The combat is as great as ever. But the gamepad is overladen with combinations, making it difficult for newcomers to get accustom to.

And there are lots of variety when it comes to stealth. You have plenty of ways to handle a situation.

Overall, I like this entry way better than its three predecessors.

I enjoyed a lot of this game but feel that there are too many staples of the "Arkham" series missing. We can only play challenge maps as Batman and they are now known as AR Challenges. My biggest gripe with this game isn't what a lot of people are annoyed about ( the identity of the Arkham Knight) , but the way that the game features zero hand to hand or innovative boss fights which is what I'm used to from the Arkham series. I guess you could class the batmobile fights as Boss fights but to me they did not have the same feel at all , i can remember having to actually experiment gadget combinations to take down bosses in the previous games , whereas there is none of that here. The closest thing we get is a Dual play encounter with a "Press L1 to win" sequence and a predator "encounter" ( if you can call it that) with the Arkham Knight.

I think the batmobile was focused on way too much , and im not against its inclusion , its the degree to which it is used , the only way this advances on Arkham City in my opinion is in the Graphics department , which baffles me because if Rocksteady spent more time on getting the story straightened out and giving us the 1v1 H2H boss fights we were used to , this would probably be my favourite game in the series.

The plot overall is fine with me as i heavily expected hallucinations of the clown variety the second it was announced Scarecrow was the "main villain" in this game. Mark Hamill reprised his role brilliantly and I think John Noble did a terrific job as Scarecrow. I was a fan of the Panessa Studios sequence in the game where they relied on plot details from Arkham City , but i thought there were other elements they could have relied on or fell back on also , for example Clayface is not even mentioned outside of some posters for movies and the Al Ghul's are also omitted.

The Soundtrack is once again brilliant and doesnt have too much of a different vibe from previous games , to be expected as it is the same Audio Director again. I enjoyed this game but I feel like I should have gotten a lot more out of it , and I think its ridiculous to go from having so many challenge maps in Origins (I know that wasn't Rocksteady but still consistency please) to a paltry 4 combat and 4 predator maps in Arkham Knight.
I think the worst think about this game is not having boss fights as every previous games has had a fair few of them , and City had some of my favourite boss fights of all time , it's a shame they couldnt top themselves again with Arkham Knight but im hoping the Season Pass adds more combat bosses , very disappointing that they relied on the Batmobile so much for combat and boss fights , seeing as i thought some of the ways the Batmobile was used in puzzles and Riddler sequences were genius.

Conclusion: I thought Arkham Knight would effortlessly top Rocksteady's previous efforts , A lot of my faults with the game can be remedied with good DLC but i feel like i haven't been given what I was promised and that sucks , I miss being able to spend hours and hours just on the combat challenge maps. I would replay Asylum and City and speed run them because i knew there were some cool boss fights to reward my efforts. I rushed through New Game + and i'm already struggling to find motivation to go back to Gotham

Arguably the best Batman game to ever have been made, the game really comes down to whether or not you like the inclusion of the new Batmobile. For me, it was a good distraction at times and, at others, a minor annoyance, including a main story mission entirely dependent on the Batmobile. The car sequences wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't made it such an integral part of the game. The car sequences wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't made it such an integral part of the game. Too much emphasis is placed on the Batmobile throughout the entire game, IMO, and the game would have been alot better for me if I wasn't forced to use it so much for so many different things. What could have been a nice change of pace for the rest of the game feels to much like a necessity that is being forced down your throat and I don't like that one bit. That doesn't take away from the rest of the game and the improvement they made on pretty much everything else. The story was excellent, even if the Arkham Knight turned into a goober halfway through, and it feels like good closure to the storyline. They did leave it open for some kind of sequel in the future but who knows what that would even look like. I'm extremely interested in seeing where Rocksteady goes from here. I wonder if they will stick with this 3rd Person-Action formula they seem to have perfected or will they go another route. I feel like it'll be a good game regardless as they have proven themselves to be extremely good at what they do. Expand

Here you will see another side to Batman, his flaws his anger, the rage that drives him you can see familiarity's in his character physic when you compare him to the Dark Knight Returns animated series a man who is willing to sacrifice for his own self completion, his motives are straight forward and no one will stop his anger from prevailing over his foes, with Kevin Conroy back to voiceHere you will see another side to Batman, his flaws his anger, the rage that drives him you can see familiarity's in his character physic when you compare him to the Dark Knight Returns animated series a man who is willing to sacrifice for his own self completion, his motives are straight forward and no one will stop his anger from prevailing over his foes, with Kevin Conroy back to voice the Batman this brought the Batmans anger to another level of rage the rage we are supposed to see.

I can see that Developer Rocksteady have gained inspiration from Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy particular Batman Begins were as the previous games were more comic book based, Compared to the previous two games the threat is on a much bigger scale similar to the threat difference to say Batman Begins and the Dark Knight Rises.
The final game is more grounded and is set to appeal to the wider audience which is why the game has its flaws particularly the overuse of the Batmobile, disappointing boss fights and Drone Battles and repetitive voice commands such as (Rattler Down!)

But then again these minor flaws didnt deterrent from how awesome it was to have a Batmobile this monster is intimidating on top of that the driving mechanics were flawless so easy to drive throughout Gotham City, I admire Rocksteady's work of innovation gameplay rather than the same game again, As the Batman you are able to exit in and out the Batmobile flawlessly without distraction, then through remote control you are able to call on it whenever you need it and on top of that it comes with Battlemode with the touch of a button this mammoth turns into a force to be reckoned with called Battlemode ready for battle seeing the transformation from Battlemobile to Battlemode is sooo cool. The Batmobile is fun and engaging the driving mechanics and battlemode work flawlessly together and is one of Batman's coolest gadgets it feels like a needed necessity to progress in the game rather than just a placement.

If you have played the previous Arkham games you will feel right at home here if not it will take some time to master the game, most of the same fighting techniques, gadgets and gameplay mechanics are back with some additional improvements such as fear takedowns were Batman is able to take down multiply foes at one time, being able to use weapons such as Bats against other foes, environmental takedowns such as smashing an enemy's head into a electrical circuit (I don't know if that covers Batman Do not Kill Policy) and gadgets such as the Disrupter that disables enemy's weapons, all possible and curtsey of Lucious Fox which are all needed when your going up against an army of mercenaries a Scarecrow and the likes of Harley Quinn, Penguin and Two face.

    Perks
    Batmobile is fun and engaging
The driving mechanics and battle work flawlessly together
    John Noble voice of Scarecrow
    Kevin Conroy voice as Batman
    Stunning Graphics
    The Story's twist's and turns
The mind boggling events that accor
Added layers to combat mechanics such as environmental takedowns and duo takedowns
A satisfying conclusion to a remarkable trilogy
Side Storys indept story arch's from some of the best comic book villians in the DC Universe

    Negatives
    Too many Drone Battles
The Arkham Knight doesn't live up to the Title
Boss fights were somewhat disapointing and few

    Verdict
Batman Arkham Knight has it's flaws but developer Rocksteady makes up for this by providing the player with innovation gameplay, solid story, AAA game quality, and a true Batman gaming experience. Batman Arkham Knight is satisfying conclusion to a remarkable trilogy that brought the comic book game genre to life.

The season pass is a rip-off but we don't have to buy it and the score shouldn't be affected by that.
To round this up simply, if you enjoyed Asylum, City and even Origins, you'll love this.
    Ignore the negativity.

I originally got this game for the PC (I had only played 60-90 minutes). I just beat it last night and this game is amazing. The story is fun, the game isn't too repetitive (even those riddler challenges).

Now I am not going to spoil the ending but I only finished the first tier of ending (there's 3 total). My review is based off that first ending. The story was very intriguing. When I was younger I use to watch the Batman cartoons and even some of those old reruns of the old show (I'm 25 now but I saw those reruns when I was 5 or 6). I even saw and loved the first four batman movies. I love the Dark Knight trilogy. When I was 10 or 11 I loved watching Batman Beyond on cartoon network. Having said all of this I have never been into comics. I feel that the story of this game does Batman justice.

I took one star off because there are no boss fights outside of using the Batmobile. Driving in the batmobile is fun but I feel like it's forced too many times.

While I agree they could have downsized the use of the bat mobile as a tank by a it, it isn't nearly as frustrating and a deal breaker as some have said it. People like to complain, and it seems as if this game is their new target. I've seen people complaining that the game has far too much things to do and variety? What? Seriously? It´s an open world game, for Christ's sake.. When a developer offers fewer options, people complain about it, when it gives dozen of side missions, lots of different enemy types to deal with in battle and in predator mode and a huge number of was you can deal with enemies, people say it's too much? Go understand.

I've also seen people complaining about the side missions, saying they are unrelated to the main story... Again, WHAT? It´s a side mission, it's supposed to be like that, and while it's true they don't follow the main story line, all of them play a huge part in the plot and really feel like missions from the Batman universe.

Go play the game and check for yourselves, I haven't had this much fun this generation yet. I'm currently at 87% of completion and about to start new game plus. This is the true Batman simulator and it´s totally worth it.

    Now, concerning the constant nitpicks:

Yes, there is a ton of batmobile. No, it is not a bad thing. In city, there was a lot of detective vision, and a lot of batclaw, and the fistfighting got quite boring after a while. Knight offers 2 types of combat, and the tank/ pursuit combat got boring as quickly as the predator combat, and that requires 300+ hours of fighting. That's what the batmobile is- an alternative to those who feel that predator gets boring. It is also a nice nod towards Batfans.

The batmobile is also a gadget that is used as much as detective vision in the previous games. And on top of all that, on exploration of Gotham, you will find that the batmobile is only forced upon you during about 25% of the story, and as a fun gadget, form of combat and mode of transportation.

In Gotham, the skies are pretty empty, and I feel that gamers would complain about "not enough Batmobile" if it was used less. You can never please some people. Also, the story is the best and has the best plot twist in the series.

Overall, This is one of the greatest games ever, with too much criticism for its own good. Wind Waker also got criticized like this for its graphics on launch.

definitely try this game out for yourself you will find a good Batman experience similar to that of the others. But definite view story and gameplay changes or new mechanics that you may love or not so much.

    The story

Following the events of Arkham Asylum and Arkham city this is supposed to be the last in a great franchise. A lot of fan favorite villains are back and going straight for the dark Knight on Halloween night. without spoiling too much early on you encounter a twist in the story line that in my opinion takes the brilliant focus off of scarecrow being the main villain. Which is a disappointment considering that scarecrow was supposed to be this new super villain which he is still very interesting and executed very nice. As for the others you don't really see them unless you do the side missions. And then we get to the Arkham night which is a awesome character and a surprising one. You know the comics and some the movies you will probably guess is secret identity couple of missions before you fight him. Overall there are some good moments that create for a very cinematic Batman experience. But sometimes a few of the story elements over shadows characters. Gameplay. An overall the experience.

    The gameplay

If you have played the previous ones you can easily pick this game up and beat up villains like it wasn't nothing which is a good thing when it comes to the controls and button layout. They definitely made it feel updated and that it flows together nicely. They also made use of new and old gadgets and actually made them useful in both combat and stealth scenarios. You actually feel like Batman when you have to you use gadgets in detective scenarios which has been completely redone which is good they are never the same and always feel like they have a purpose. Not to spoil everything but there are moments when you can team up with other iconic heroes such as Nightwing. Or Catwoman these moments are really awesome and can create some fantastic memories.

    the Graphics

the game looks really good I mean really good if you have seen the trailers they look just as good if not better. Especially with some of the cinematic moments with the Batmobile or a cut scene it looks very gorgeous and the game runs very very smooth on the PlayStation 4.

    The Positive
+ Easy to pick up and play for veterans and newcomers.
+ Scarecrow is a great villain along with a few others.
+ New mechanics to stealth (multiple takedowns. Or more use of gadgets)
    + the game looks gorgeous.
+ Beaten up criminals with iconic heroes is just awesome.
+ It's still a Batman game that you can just have a good time with.

    The Negative
= the story can become predictable.
= the Batmobile can be annoying and frustrating at times.
= I don't feel like they are many side missions versus the previous ones.
= They took out the ability to play as different iconic heroes/characters in fun challenges.
= don't be expecting new villains ( they are mostly all returning fan favorites that you have captured several times by now)

!Overall this is a very good game that delivers a good Batman experience and that will definitely keep you entertained while his week of two if you are trying to get a platinum trophy or just taking time enjoying the story and side missions. But when you compare it to the other ones you would deftly notice the flaws.

First thing's first, the aspect that practically makes or breaks the game for you. The Batmobile. I myself share a love-hate relationship with it. Let me put it this way, the Batmobile, as a gameplay aspect, is pretty damn cool. Racing through Gotham in the fast paced crime chasing vehicle through an open world. However, as cool as it is, it's undeniably shoved down your throat. To clarify, the Batmobile is a mode of transport, so why the hell am I using it for everything else as well? Quest, puzzles, indoors, outdoors, boss battles. Eventually, it got to the point where I found myself avoiding use of the batmobile as much as possible because I just wanted to be Batman. Not to mention, the tank drones and helicopters are gathered in hordes to force the player to be use the batmobile more often. Not only is that annoying in terms of taking choice away from the player, it's annoying in that it takes away the essence of being Batman, the master strategist, hand to hand master, with a utility belt full of awesome crap, who always wins via his wit.
Really, that's what the Arkham games thrived on, capturing the essence of being the feared Dark knight.
    Does this game do that?
When you're playing as Batman, yes, since not much has changed in terms of Batman's gameplay, I'll list the changes that really stuck out. The new Fear Multi Takedown REALLY captures that feeling of being Batman, jumping out of nowhere to take out one crook then taking out the other while he's still too shocked to attack.
In terms of writing and what not, Batman is very much himself, breaking bones, solving mysteries with high tech, pushing onward no matter how bad the odds are.
In terms of the sidequests, I was taken by surprise by a lot of the villains. Notably Man-Bat, and Pyg were ones I didn't expect. Nightwing showing up was great too, though he didn't really get enough of a role as he should. Honestly, a lot of characters you'd hope would be in there were either absent or just plain cameos.
    As for the graphics, awesome.
As for the boss battles, horrid.
As for the story... as a comic book fan, let me put it this way, for the most part it's damn good, but it felt tainted by ghost-writing from Jeph loeb.
Notably, there are parts where everything just feels... forced. Batman neutralizing the blast, seemingly giving his life, only for the batmobile to save him at the last second. The situation where the cowl is removed is the exact kind of situation where Batman is known for turning the tide last second. Arkham Knight's identity being obvious, he's basically just saying everything he said AFTER he was revealed to be Red Hood in the comics . In fact, now that I think about it. The Arkham Knight himself was pretty much unnecessary to the story, except to shoehorn in a more powerful foe. Especially considering the highlights of the original Knightfall arc were what happened AFTER the Bat was broken, with the then new criminal Bane, and Bruce's replacement going murderous. The most entertaining parts of the story are against Scarecrow, who made for quite the antagonist on his own. I also loved Joker in this one, even from the grave still managing to cause chaos and torment everyone

In the end, the game could have easily been a 9 for me, ironically though, a lot of Arkham Knight's flaws came not from what it didn't do, but what it did. The Batmobile may have been awesome, but there were times where I wanted to be Batman, the militia may have been formidable, but they not only took away exploration, but in doing so took away the player's ability to be a fearsome creature of the night by limiting the number of ways to tackle the situation. There is a sidequest to lessen the militia presence, however, so it really depends on how willing you are to do said sidequest.
Again, Arkham Knight is a great game, but there is a lot of crap you have to be willing to tolerate in order to get to the parts that make it great.

BATMOBILE, BATMOBILE, BATMOBILE. It is featured way too prominently, almost half of missions are done mainly in it. The tank battles kill the arkham mood, and the racing levels don't work as the car, although great, isn't the best handling wise. If they only cut down on the use of the bat mobile it'd be an awesome luxury, instead it's an annoying crutch.
LOAD TIMES. Terrible, especially if it's an area where you fail repeatedly.
Riddler trophies (Personal opinon), there are too many and are required for the secret ending and fighting The Riddler. I know it's an arkham tradition, but there are too many and it's really tedious collecting them.

The batmobile is the big thing about AK. It's like the game keeps giving you excuses to drive, meaning that AK is more of a ground experience other than a rooftop experience. But it comes with a price. Some missions make driving feel clunky and frustrating. I did not like the Riddler's racing missions, for instance.

The main story is interesting and has nice twists. Mark Hamill does an incredible work as the Joker and the game had several moments that got me in awe, saying to myself "wow, this is cool". It's a fantastic game that everyone should play.

My ONLY problem with the game, though - something that is kind of a deal-breaker - is the way the game forces you to achieve a certain % in order to finish. And for a sand-box game I think this is quite questionable. If a player decides to do only the main story, they should be allowed to do so. AK does not allow that. Even if you finish the main story you are FORCED to complete more than 80% of the sidequests in order to see an ending AT ALL. And I'm not talking about watching the good ending, like so many games do. I'm talking about ACTUALLY SEEING THE CREDITS ROLL. If you don't reach the quota, you don't finish the game. It's simple as that. And that's BULLSH*T.

Despite the PC version plagued by an assortment of bugs and game-play issues, the PS4 version surfers from very little of problems. Yes there are glitches and the textures are not as good for this generation, but the game is playable. As with Asylum Batman encountered the longest night of his life; in Arkham Knight Batman faces death on more than one occasion, watching things falling apart around him including saying bye to some long time allies as well as foes.

The main game is amazing with the free flow system better than ever. You can get your Batman on without the season pass which in my opinion is unnecessary if the Batgirl play-through was a complete letdown. In other words get the game but forgo the $40.00 for the season pass or wait for the game of the year to get the DLC.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Arkham Knight was a very good game, though not quite Arkham City I tried my best to keep an open mind throughout the game. The combat and gameplay is crisp and very engaging and the story at the end of the day was very well done. I was happy to see Scarecrow (one of my favorite villains) get a chance to shine in a rather intimidating fashion and the Arkham Knight, even though he turned out to be Jason Todd was actually a pretty awesome character himself. Though one of my complaints would be that they almost made it too easy to figure out that he was Red Hood all along. The Joker returning in the way he does was one of the best parts of the game, its keeps you on edge and every time he shows up and taunts a driven to the edge Batman, you get the sense at where Batman's mind is at psychologically. The Batmobile, I also found to be pretty cool though the fact that they made it such a necessity in the game made it kind of annoying. My only complaint was the riddler and all his trophies having to be completed before getting the best ending of the game. It felt too much like the Mass Effect 3 debacle and its a Batman game, I shouldn't have to spend time grinding to get trophies and solve riddles from one of the lamest villains in the DC universe. The main gameplay novelty now is the batmobile. It was well implemented, comes in hand to cross faster the big open world and is used as key to some really creative puzzles and boss battles. My only complaint was that you need to do 100% of the missions to see the definitive ending, because the game is not really over after defeating the scarecrow in the main story. The majority of these tasks are fun and interesting enough to motivate us to complete it, but have to collect all the Riddler's trophies is a pain in the a**!!!!! It's hard work and nothing pleasant to do. I tried, but i couldn't deal with it and got frustrated because i really wanted to see the conclusion to the story. Besides that, if you enjoyed the past two games, everything you love about them is here: beautiful graphics, great action sequences, creative puzzles, good writing and amazing characters. Highly recommended and a satisfying conclusion to this trilogy.

Which was actually really similar to Assassin's Creed, although I haven't seen much negativity about that (and at the same time I don't know which one developed the combat first). There was also the Batmobile, a common problem. It took over the game often. I really liked it, but there was still too much of it in the game. The storyline is great, and it's a really long one (the full thing, however the main story is just over average in length, but a very good story no matter how far you go). With the combination of the quality storyline and the decent open world, it makes for a huge game. Arkham City still remains slightly better, but Arkham Knight is a good game. Expand

As is often the case, the overarching black-and-white hero versus villain story is far less interesting than the hero’s journey itself. Batman’s personal trials as he fights to protect his friends and city, all the while struggling with a slight descent into madness brought on by the Joker’s dying legacy, is well captured here.

Despite some of its more convoluted Dead Parentsaspects, the characterisations and accompanying stories were quite moving, particularly the origins of the Arkham Knight. However something that I believe to be an ill-advised design choice on Rocksteady’s behalf was to lock the true ending to the game behind 100% completion of all the main and side quests. This would be fine if it weren’t for the Riddler challenges, of which there are a staggering 243. These range from simply finding trophies, to solving visual riddles or destroying specific objects that are littered around Gotham. Many of the aforementioned trophies are linked to puzzles that you must solve in order to get to them. These puzzles are incredibly varied and well-designed, and make complete use of all your gadgets, including the Batmobile.

It is immensely rewarding to complete all of the arrogant trickster’s challenges, but it takes almost the same amount of time playing the main game to get absolutely all of them. While I enjoyed this aspect, I imagine there will be a vocal few who won’t have the patience to persevere with the challenges, and without the true ending you aren’t really given a satisfying ending at all. The true ending (which you can view here), also poses more questions than it answers, and while dramatic and well-presented, does not give a sense of finality to the tale.

Arkham Knight is an interesting blend of many different gameplay systems. Part brawler, part stealth, part detective, part vehicular shenanigans, it takes many varied elements and does a good job of stitching them together into a cohesive whole. There is a high degree of visual and gameplay polish, and an interesting (if a little murky at times) multi-faceted story. However, during my playthrough I couldn’t shake the feeling that perhaps Rocksteady lost sight of the core of the Arkham games, and Arkham Knight ends up being only a little better than the sum of its parts.

Lucky then that each of these parts are so well-crafted, but when I look back on this series, it is Arkham Asylum that I will remember most fondly.

Anyway, Arkham Knight to me has to be the finest entry in the series. The gameplay is what you come to expect from the Arkham games, fast, fluid and action packed, with various side missions to complete and the ability to use the Batmobile in conjunction with puzzles and main objectives makes it feel like an essential part of Batmans tools and not some gimmick! The story isn't as strong as Rocksteadys other outings, but it does the job well of telling a well crafted story. And the graphics is pure eye candy! The moment you "even the odd's" and then the Batmobile makes its first appearance, the detail is amazing and how it can chew through nearly anything is a blast. Most of them are from PC gamers not reviewing on their own page and others don't review the whole game just the worst part of it. Even Witcher 3 can be the worst if focused only on the negative. Since the negative's are really easy let's start with the one.

-Batmobile combat. The combat of the Batmobile will take you out of it. Without a doubt the worst part of the game. Sadly there is quite a bit of it. Thankfully they are not that long and can be beaten quickly. Driving is fun but it takes a while to get used to. Once you do though it is rather fun but some disagree. Personally I have had no problems handling the batmobile in non-combat mode. Even if you don't like driving it you can get around the city just as easily gliding. This really about does it for negatives sadly it's a pretty big one and does bring the game down.

    Pros:
-Story: Simply Sublime best it's ever been.
-Combat: As Smooth and fluid as past games. It's not super different from past iterations however more aggressive AI adds that little touch to make it fresh. Also the ability to team up with fellow heroes to beat on villains is amazing. Switching between them is easy and the double take-downs are satisfying to watch. I hope more games figure out how to implement this.
-Navigation: As mentioned above simply driving the batmobile is fun at least for me. I had no real problems with the handling and hunting down villains in cars with it can lead to some great chases. However, if you find yourself having difficulty with it going on foot is just as viable. Zipping up buildings to glide across the city is even better than Arkham City.
Puzzles: The puzzles in this game are interesting and unique. The puzzles feature the best use of the batmobile. For example one puzzle involves using a winch to create your own ramps to get across some buildings.
-Villains. This one is a hit or miss depending on who you are. Some of the boss battles are sadly not as elaborate as Arkham City's. Some of them like Two-Face you can beat with a silent takedown. Which in my opinion makes sense and I prefer to the classic 3 hit-point of older games. You may like it or not just saying it's there. However, the character themselves are fantastic as usual.

Conclusion: Overall this ties up the Arkham trilogy from Rocksteady superbly. If your a fan of the past ones this is a must have. However, it should be mentioned if you plan on playing it on PC and found your way to the PS4 page by accident. Just go there to find out all the reasons it's an awful idea. Judging the game purely on it's own merit and not awful ports. It's one of the best games of the year. Honestly, hopefully PC gets a patch soon so they can experience just how great this game is.

Some things in the game can become a little repetitive but this issue is easily fixed by mixing it up whenever you start to feel it, so don't force yourself to stick to one type of Objective at a time.

Story is great fun and keeps you wanting to progress the main story though i strongly urge you do some side things in between story missions as it really adds the lions share to the game and allows for some run ins with familiar faces!

Bat mobile handles like a tank at first, but after a while you will realise you aren't supposed to control it perfectly, you're meant to take out every statue and chunk of concrete along the way, it's very cinematic and after awhile the bat mobile felt pretty natural and all in all i had no issue with the controls.
Though i do have one gripe with the bat mobile, i feel far too much of the side quests center around it, infact 3 of the longest side quest chains utilise the bat mobile almost exclusively and well.. i wanna be batman with my bat gadgets doing batman things.

Over all its a great game and i highly recommend it, but, i urge you to play Asylum > City > Arkham knight as it is a continuing story and some references will be a little lost on you.. but if that doesn't worry you then have at it!

    P.S
You can choose to just avoid any side missions you don't enjoy, so it's really not all bad and the bat mobile is surprisingly not the fastest way to travel around gotham, ejecting yourself from the drivers seat and using your grapple gets you where you need to be in half the time!

Also despite what people say this game DOES have challenge maps and you unlock them by playing the game, they go under the name AR challenges now but are the exact same thing,Some people obviously didn't play the game far enough before ripping into it.

This game is exceptional. An easy candidate for Game of the Year, Arkham Knight tells a really compelling story that serves to be a great end to the Trilogy. It has everything and more that we have come to expect from Rocksteady.

for me this was the best game ive played so far this generation, improved combat from the previous games, outstanding graphics, and by far the best storyline that has been in an arkham game. Not to mention the batmobile was added and seems to have better mechanics than most games that have even more driving. All i can say about arkham knight is it is a fantastic ending to an amazing franchise!

Made an account to talk about this game, and I have to let a lot out of my chest. There have been a ton of negative feedback all over the place with this game. I understand PC user's frustration of not being able to play this game, that's a huge bummer, but don't knock the score out until you can actually play because trust me it's worth it. This game is glorious on all accounts, the visuals, the gameplay, and the story. Holy crap the story... I think it's beautiful and well crafted, and I was kind of worried since Paul Dini did not return to write this game. My god, the people at Rocksteady definitely knew what they were doing as this is a great Batman tale, probably high up there as the best. Batman has never been tested as a character as much as he is here, and it's astounding to see how he pulls through.

Like a lot of other people here, I'm not entirely a big fan of all the Batmobile combat missions. They were too long, and there are too many for my taste. However, what's amazing about this game is that it allows you the player to take control of the paste. Don't want to continue the main mission that has a high chance or a Bat-Tank mission? Well then explore the city a little bit, solve a murder case, catch that thing flying in the sky, save Jack Ryder, hunt down penguin, or try to solve one of those brain teasing Riddler trophies. Trust me, the Bat-Tank missions aren't as bad if you play through it that way.

I've read some threads about how people are disappointed with how they utilized certain characters and left questions unanswered. One in particular was about Hush. Yeah, I wish he had more to do, but he was on his way to destroying Bruce by attempting to kill Lucius and take over Wayne Enterprises. That was satisfying enough for me, but I can understand that criticism. Also, I would have liked a fist fight with Deathstroke, not a tank fight. Other than those gripes, all the sidemissions were fun and allowed you to get a better understanding for these villain characters.

All in all, I'm not sure what all the humbug is about. Perhaps you'll see me in the forums retorting back at your claims of the game being bad because X reason, but I would say that if you're a big Batman fan then all of the things Rocksteady does in this game will be truly satisfying.

This game doesn't deserve the 6.7 user score that it's been given so far; although I agree with the preorder haters on this busch league system they scattered amongst gaming distributers, these reviews are for the game itself not about the way it's DLC is distributed. As for the PC users, its hard to feel any sympathy when on every form you're bragging about how much better PC is than console gaming then come crying to the console user scores when the PC version doesn't work. This game is a solid 9/10. If you loved Arkham City then you're gonna love this game, basically same thing just better graphic and an amazing addition with the batmobile. It is a bit frustrating sometimes how much they implement the Batmobile into every other mission but it's a new toy and all they try to do is show off it's features. The story mode is emotional and shocking to say the least, the fighting feels just as good as Arkham City with updated moves, and taking flight through the skies is absolutely beautiful and satisfying. Gran finale della trilogia Rocksteady. Ottima presentazione, un po' lungo forse il tempo iniziale dedicato alla batmobile. Tecnicamente superlativo su PS4. Difficilmente era possibile realizzare un epilogo migliore di questo. Complimenti Rocksteady.

Rocksteady have reignited the Arkham series after the disappointing Arkham Origins. The story is engaging (as expected, due to no multiplayer) and has varied side missions which are highly entertaining, especially the Riddler puzzles which add another aspect by including the batmobile. Whilst on the topic of the batmobile, in all honesty, it was a let down. It is relied upon too heavily at times, and although it's fun to powerslide across Gotham city, personally it detaches from the 'Batman' feel of the game. I much prefer gliding across the city like a bad-ass butterfly. The add ons (Harley Quinn, Red-hod and Scarecrow mission packs) are also very entertaining, but quite short. The combat is what makes the game in my opinion. The freeflowing combos and the addition of the fear attack, makes the melee engrossing and addictive. Nothing better than beating the crap out of a thug, in true emphatic Batman-fashion. The options to plan out your attacks is also a great feature, which gives you more choice and makes the game more strategic. To briefly summarise, the game is beautiful and fully utilises the next-gen, however the batmobile is relied on quite alot and the story/side missions could be longer, however the melee and the range of missions push Batman to a solid 9/10. Well done Rocksteady. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've so far completed 44.3 percent of the game including the side missions and the main story missions. Rocksteady studios totally taken this game to the full next level of Batman gaming, where they add in completely brand new contents and new mechanics to the game, Batman Arkham Knight is the perfect finale to end Rocksteady's amazing trilogy

Presentation: The game graphics looks way better then the graphics from previous Arkham titles, and it's even more amazing considering the fact that the game was made on the unreal engine software. The character design looks way better and more detail, like the bloody nose that Batman gets later on in the game. The open world is even better then in Asylum, City, and even Origins. Even bigger massive and more detailed then in previous games, with even more places to explore. The voice casting is also but even better then ever. Kevin Conroy has done an even better work in voicing the Batman and the legendary Mark Hamill returns as the wild, and amazing batman villain: The Joker! I was so happy to hear the return of Mark Hamill.

Gameplay: The gameplay of Knight feels so much more astounding then ever. The gliding mechanics Has been improved with better Ariel controls and faster gliding speed. The combat in the game has also been improved. Now you can pick up melee weapons and use them to knock your opponents, plus you can perform a devastating counter attack at times. Even better, you can now sometimes play as other characters such as Robin, Catwoman, or even Nightwing. The biggest part to the gameplay I would think is the inclusion of the Batmobile.

Batmobile: The batmobile makes its first appearance for being driven in the arkham series. Rocksteady has done a very good work in making the batmobile. Most people don't really enjoy the batmobile and I think that they go to final conclusion right away that the batmobile is very clunky and hard to control. Now I spend many hours in the past two days driving the batmobile almost every where I go. The people just didn't get use to driving it since this is completely brand new. It was hard for me at first but I managed to master the batmobile battle mode and regular driving mode from just by practicing. The only problem I had with the batmobile is the breaking. You need to press the square button to break but I always press the L2 button that goes into tank mode. I think the main problem is that I played many racing games in the past and the L2 button is the break button. However the batmobile is still such an amazing vehicle to ride in and to fight in and that is probably the biggest thing that batman has done. There aren't any batman games in the past to include the batmobile to drive in. And I'm not counting the comedy Lego batman games.

Final Verdict: Rocksteady truly did a remarkable job on this game, and I could totally see a reason for dealing it in the first place from last year. If they haven't delayed the game, then this would be just as bad as the movie Batman and Robin! I understand that the PC version is having loads of problems and that WB games are trying to fix the game, but the PC I'm sure will definitely get fixed. I don't know why many people don't consider Arkham Knights to be better than Arkham City, but this is way better than Arkham city. The Presentation is even better with a much longer lasting appeal, a suspenseful and thriller story, and the visuals and the world is simply remarkable. The gameplay is simply more fresher and works even better, and the batmobile makes it a true dream come true. Batman Arkham Knight is definitely the game of the year. Which is why it deserves a 10/10. I hope you find this review to be helpful.

    Story:
Great story! Scarecrow was a fantastic villain and his plan, not gonna spoil anything, is actually really clever with good execution. He is believable, really creepy and the performance is very good. He is very threatening and confident for most the greatest deal of the game and I really liked his design. The Arkham Knight was kind of an opposite to him. Where Scarecrow is calculating and intimidating, the Arkham Knight is more of a brute and angry force. They make for a great villain duo, though the reveal of who the Arkham Knight is wasn't that enormous of a surprise, but it is still pretty cool. There is also a lot of mind trickery and really awesome insights into Batman's mind, which stole the show for me. So, overall, the story is really good, but not perfect and Arkham City definitely had a better story.
    Graphics:
Probably the best graphics I've ever seen in a game. Surpasses the Witcher 3 in some ways, but as for the lighting, the Witcher 3 definitely wins.
    Gameplay:
Just as in Arkham City and Arkham Asylum the gameplay is fantastic and flying over the roofs of Gotham is a blast. The Batmobile is a lot of fun to drive. Especially car chases are a lot of fun. Combat is good, but nothing to write home about and it can be incredibly frustrating. Especially one part near the end. The game itself is far too easy, so I recommend playing it on hard.
    World:
The world is beautifully crafted, but doesn't feel incredibly big. There's three islands, each one about as big as Arkham City. The world is packed with stuff to look at and there's plenty of stuff to do. There's several side missions, but nothing too exciting, really. Just your average repetitive missions. So again, nothing to write home about in the side missions.
    Sound:
Sound design is really good and the voice work is absolutely amazing as always. The music is nothing too special. There's no song that'll be stuck in your head for a long time or anything.
    Overall:
It's a really good game, but not as good as we all expected it to be. There's a lot of fantastic stuff in it, but also some missteps, but overall it's quite a good ending to a fantastic series. Definitely worth a buy, but I wouldn't say it'll be my personal Game of the Year for this year. There are games that are going to come out or that have come out that are definitely superior this year, like Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Fallout 4, The Witcher 3 or Xenoblade Chronicle X. Still a fantastic game!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have never really been a huge fan of the Arkham Series but was an exceptional series that inspired games like Shadows of Mordor and Assassin's Creed emphasis on the simple combat system. My favorites games in the Arkham "Series" were Origins( though the reasons why it was hated the most because of plagued bugs at launch) with new ways of observing crime scenes and Arkham Asylum with it being the first to introduce the players to a intriguing world. Though City was good, the story was monotonous and filled with ridiculous side chores that got boring after just a few hours trying to solve them. Now with Arkham Knight being the last game in the "Series", does the Dark Knight prevail through the nights or fall in the darkest depths of Gotham himself?

    SPOILER FREE

Seems like the Dark Knight prevailed to the soaring skies of Gotham in this last installment of the Arkham "series" . The game for one is one of the most beautiful games that even renders well on the 8th generation of console though my sympathy are going to the PC players. I don't really need to tell the story since its been at least a couple years since its announcement with Scarecrow is threatening Gotham with his new fear toxin and Batman has to stop him from doing so. With a "New" Batman villain named the Arkham Knight going against the Dark Knight himself as he tries to go through many obstacles to save Gotham going in utter madness. The story of the game is good yet predictable. Most of the time from what you'd be guessing ( if you know the biography of the Batman world) would be right since they tend to leave out twist of the game so exposed that you can see the confrontation a mile away. Overall the story is simple yet predictable which is disappointing for the last installment for the "series".

My main gripe with the game is that is emphasizes on the Batmoble or to be honest the BATTANK because there isn't really much fun blowing unmanned drones in a game when you have to do it several times. The best times when using the Bat Tank is when using it to solve the Riddlers Riddles because it is pretty inventive on how they utilize the Bat Tanks arsenal. Either you'd be railing down on the wall and riding with the walls to solve the riddles or powering up the switches with the power cables. Combat is fun and fluid than ever before. The Bat is faster, brutal, and more varied in his attacks like using the Bat Claw to pull his enemies towards him just to slam down against their chest or using a Critical Hit with the Voltage gun to stun the enemies that surround the Bat. It's not always bashing and beating as the Bat since the enemies will have guns which will make the player think more on proceeding through the fight. The Predator gameplay has always been the same and has been improved by one new mechanic called the Fear Takedown. The Fear Takedown mechanis is a fast and quick loud takedowns that can look awesome and occupy up to 3-5 enemies base on the upgrades which the player use Wayne Tech points throughout the game. There are more that I don't really want to spoil so play the game yourself to see what makes you the Batman.

The game took me about 30 hours to fully get a 100% on the story and side quest. It was a fun and exciting adventure for the final installment on the Arkham "Series" and I hope you guys play it too. I say its a buy.

Ps. One other main gripe in the game is where the hell are the challenge maps? I can't play the characters that are shown playable freely. I heard it's coming in soon buy if I have to pay for it then I am going to be so furious.

Batman: Arkham Knight is the best looking game in the series so far, and includes a lot of cool stuff for fans of Batman. But at the same time it’s starting to feel like Rocksteady is almost too comfortable. It lacks new content, except the pretty bad designed Batmobile parts. If you haven’t played the previous games that much you will probably think that this is one of the best games this year.
