I just wish Ubisoft would try something different like they did with AC black flag , for example bigger scale battles , Vikings , samurais whatever just something more epic. Maybe if this was my first or second AC I would of enjoyed it more. Glad they are having time off from the series. Hopefully they can get that wow factor back.

This game is a cluttered, buggy version of Black Flag with a smaller map and a worse story. It is a chore to play through. Avoid this game at all cost.

I've been a huge fan of the Assassin's Creed franchise since the first game. All games were going pretty good until the Assassin's Creed 3, which I thought had a really great idea, but I couldn't help but hate the main protagonist, Conner. He was so whiny and it just wasn't good. Black Flag was totally different and I really enjoyed it. Had a lot of fun with the story. It seemed really good and it graphically, it looked really good. But just didn't meet my expectations. Ubisoft has gone downhill lately, like, a lot. They keep rushing games and they suck. I was very hesitant to buy Syndicate. I figured I'd be done with the franchise, but I watched the reviews closely and I caved. I bought it and I'm honestly satisfied. In some ways, they could've done a lot better, but I've had so much fun with the game that it gives me hope. Its a lot better than Unity and as far as I know, Ubisoft is waiting another year for the release of the new Assassin's Creed game. Maybe they'll do something right, but so far, Ubisoft has been giving me hope with their recent releases. Rainbow Six, Syndicate, The Division, have all been enjoyable so far. Don't **** it up, boys! While I had quite a bit of fun playing this game, I just found the more I progressed the more repetitive it was. By the time I had only 3 distracts left I had both Jacob and Evie maxed out on their skill level, so it was just far too easy.

If it had more fluid combat system, (batman, maybe), with an interesting story, this would be outstanding, sadly these features are not here. Annoyingly there is a climb up/down mechanic which for me feels unnatural and cumbersome, often leaving me frustrated and bewildered. After all that there are some decent missions, but overall painfully average, get it on the cheap!!!! Expand

love the game but no extra saving file, no restart button you have to delete file by yourself come on, a game at $80 it's a shame and ridiculus that ubisoft is not taking care of this issue there is complaints all over the net.
there is no excuse it should be easy to acces file to our game in the menu.

The negatives: there's plenty of story potential that goes untapped, the twins' relationship is hardly covered at all, there is still lots of busy work, some of the missions towards the end get fairly flat, the story doesn't really build to anything memorable and the villain is incredibly amateur (he runs London, yet at no point does he do anything to wrest back control!). A solid 7 - I enjoyed it but there's so much untapped potential in the AC series. Expand

I skipped Unity because of the terrible reviews, so I wasn't sure what to expect with Syndicate. If you liked Black Flag, you will like Syndicate. Now that I think of it, this game is very similar to Batman Arkham series which might be why I like it so much. HUGE open world map. Lots to do and explore. Tons of collectibles. The graphics are spectacular. The gameplay is typical AC - sometimes your character doesn't go exactly where you want, but it's not too bad. The story is good and the side missions are relevant to the main mission. Overall, AC Syndicate is a really good game.

    Pros
    + Beautiful graphics
    + Interesting story and characters
+ Huge world to explore providing many hours of gameplay

    Cons
    - Controls are "typical AC" (can get a little frustrating)
    - Too many weapon and armor upgrade options and most don't offer any significant benefit (just a waste of points)

Jacob and Evie Frye are two of the most compeling assassin's the series have seen in a while. Gameplay wise, the game hasn`t envolved enough, only this time has been polished to a very solid state. I did not came across any bug or crash during my 60 hours of gameplay, and the framerate kept stable during 95% of my gaming sessions, and even when it dipped, it was barely noticeable.

Story is good, but nothing extraordinary, but this time it was presented on a more lighthearted way, and adding to that the music of Austin Wintory (Composser for Journey) surely gave this game a personality of its own, and sticks out among the series.

All being said, if you like Assassin's Creed, chances are you're going to like this game. But if you don't, i don`t see many things here that would make you think otherwise. But judging the game as its own separate entity, its good, entertaining, and beautiful to look at.

It's smooth, the story is good, the characters are good (Frye Twins), you care actually about what you are doing in the game and every side missions seem to get you somewhere. I love the hook that you can travel between buildings, it doesn't require you to climb a building, having to jump down and climb another one and so forth. A lot has been improved. Although I am of the few that loved the present day story, I do wish that Ubisoft would go back to that. I love reading the manuscripts and listen to the audio logs that you can unlock through helix fragments, it gives you a deeper story to the past titles.

It is definitely a title I can finally feel like I am not being screwed over by Ubisoft, it feels like AC went back, or at least came a good way, to the spirit and the magic that I used to love with AC.

Now that I've completed the game, I can honestly say that this is the best AC so far in my opinion for number of reasons. Firstly, devs now finally realize that sandbox levels are the way to go with AC, and they have made the stealth mechanics fast paced and less frustrating from the previous games. You have number of methods to dispatch your enemy and all of the mechanics are cool. The setting is very immersive and possibly my favorite one in the series. The characters are all memorable and show wide range of emotions from the emotionally disturbed past protagonists. Finally, the game is just a blast - there are plenty of side missions and all are fun, and the story missions are all varied and offer player freedom. I think this game is the biggest surprise of 2015 for me. Ignore the haters and give this a try. Expand

Take my opinion with a grain of salt. After trying really hard to find something about Assassin's Creed I love for years now I have finally realized that I'm not so much an Assassin's Creed fan as I am a Black Flag fan. Ever since Black Flag I have been chasing that high that came from owning my own pirate ship and exploring the open seas of the Caribbeans. And although I did not hate Unity as much as most die hard Assassin's fans, it was not good enough to keep me playing. I am afraid Syndicate is much the same. Don't get me wrong, it is in my opinion a step forward from Unity, it is still the same old terrible climbing mechanics mixed with lookout posts, and following mini maps. I did however like the fact that you can choose at any time to play as either Jacob or Evie Fry. The chemistry between the brother and sister is extremely refreshing after years of being a lonely assassin. Jacob is your stereotypical shoot first ask questions later hero, and Evie fits the original stealthy assassin that is used in the other Creed games. The setting is Victorian London during the industrial revolution where gangs, corrupt officials, sweat shop employers and of coarse Templars roam. Our two heroes are tasked with taking back london from the templars and give it back to the people. As much as syndicate is a step in the right direction from Unity it still suffers the same setbacks as the rest, (Long time AC fans know what I mean). All in all if you played any of the first 3 or 4 AC games, honestly you could probably say you played syndicate as well. I dont know how they do it. By that I mean release the same game over and over again in different settings and get thousands of other gamers and I to buy it every year. Longer story shorter, if you like the others you will like this one. If you are like me and have been tired of playing the same mindless mini map follower, then trust me try something else. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is so much better than Unity it's incredible, the graphics are beautiful the world feels more alive and the UI is great, you even get to play a bit in WW1 and you even get a small open world in the WW1 setting that deserves much more attention than it's getting right now!

But there are a couple of bad things with this game, the characters are pretty annoying and the story is pretty boring most of the time especially during the modern day segments and you still can't choose to play as a Templar instead of an Assassin, there also seems to be an overtly anarchist/communist ideology pushed on me every 30 minutes which is getting very annoying but those are things you should expect from Ubisoft by now so overall better than Unity!

Another Assassin’s Creed game that you can either buy or ignore sight unseen depending on whether you grew tired of the old formula. Some innovations (e.g. the grappling hook) are a welcome addition, some (like two playable characters and their development system) feel forced and not really thought through. The brightest aspect of Syndicate is London, which might be the most spectacular city in the series. [13/2015, p.42]
