Firstly, me like many others i played the hell out of this game back in the PS3 era.
Now is this '' remaster'' a good choice of returning back to North Atlantic with shay patrick cormac?

The game is beautiful it is not verry different compared to the older version but the image is better
( the resolution as well as textures even in the simple PS4 which i own ) but most importantly the performance has been boosted.
I am half way in the game and not even one of the famous glitches and bugs were encountered.

I believe it is a great game and 8 is an adequate grade to a vast content.
The overall image could have been better but sailing in these water is just mouth dropping.
PLEASE DO NOT COMPARE IT WITH ORIGINS it is unfair, this game ( the remastered version ) stands pretty well, it's cheap and only 10gp of space, so please my fellow gamers play and enjoy a tale of a templar known as shay patrick cormac.

the game is great, best templar 's creed ever made, and the worst remaster ever made.
ubisoft is going the right way, but doing wrong in remastering
a "rested in peace" remaster, not good at all. and i'm only give positive score because of good story and some beautiful oceans

This AC game has all the advantages of Black Flag but the story is much better and more solid. Also last see battle was sort of challenge. Don't miss that part if like AC series.

In 2014 Ubisoft released two AC games at the same time: Rogue and Unity. Unity would be the 'Next-gen' entry, and Rogue was released on PS3 and Xbox 360. Having played the Remastered version on PS4 i can say this is clearly a sequel to Black Flag. In fact, i think it is a more refined sequel that is superior to Black flag.

Having played the Remastered version on PS4 i can say this is clearly a sequel to Black Flag. In fact, i think it is a more refined sequel that is superior to Black flag.

    Story:
Ever since Assassins Creed Ubisoft had been **** up the story of the Assassins Creed franchise, and i don't consider Rogue to be an improvement regarding that issue. However, we finally explore the Templar side by becoming one. There are many more side objectives like clearing gangs, renovating buildings, defeating the French and fighting Assassins. These elements make for a nice change.

    Gameplay:
Holy damn, Rogue is definitely much better than Black Flag. The enemy has actually become more dangerous. Assassins have agents hiding all over the world, and your assassin senses start whispering to you when they are close. Hunt then down, or they will assassinate you! Very fun.

Naval enemies have more abilities too! Ships can board you by ramming into you, killing many of your crew members and forcing you to defend your ship. The crew is in actual danger, and it increases the immersion of see battles.

This game is located in North America, and has a cold climate. Random icebergs drift at sea, and blizzards can obscure your vision. Mix this with unforseen naval battles and you got yourself an epic blizzard battle!

Then there are the obligatory hundreds of collectibles -_- the map is over saturated with uninteresting collectibles and mini-games. If these would unlock mysteries like the paintings in Assassins Creed II it could have been worth it. But it is just another choir to increase the playtime. Straight up boring.

    Graphics:
Honestly, it looks great. Nothing more to say about it.

    Technical state:
Surprisingly stable by Ubisoft standards. There were a few gamebreaking bugs that prevented me from progressing in missions though this was resolved by reloading the checkpoint. Combat feels more refined than Black Flag, but on ships the camera is still limiting your view.

    Verdict:
I'm having a great time playing this, though that is because i don't collect pointless collectibles and I'm not trying to reach 100% completion. If i would, i'd probably become sick and tired. I give the game an 8/10. It's an excellent game.

After Ezio, Shay is the most interesting and complicated character. On top of that the very first Templar Knight we get to know, understand and enjoy. AC Rogue will always be the second best entry in the entire series (after Ezio's story) for me personally. Already finished 2 times on pc and planning to buy and get the platinum on this remastered edition for my ps4 and my entire ACAfter Ezio, Shay is the most interesting and complicated character. Hope (but not expect) to see more consistent and well written story that is not black and white as this one.

Really liked the concept of this game and it really feels like an Assassin's creed game. Had quite a lot of fun with the story as I thought of it to be interesting, but still has the problem of becoming repetitive in some areas. Aside from that, it's quite a good game.

Answer: 75 characters is between 10 words and 19 words with spaces included in the character count. If spaces are not included in the character count, then 75 characters is between 12 words and 25 words.

    Pros
    - the gameplay is identical to Black Flag which is fantastic
    - Shay is an interesting character - templars finally get their chance to prove that they are not one dimensional bad guys - the tie in between Black Flag and Unity is a nice thing to see Cons - as soon as the story gets interesting the game ends - the modern gameplay from Black Flag is back unfortunately and it is

Rogue feels like a shorter Black Flag. Which is by far not a bad thing since Black Flag was amazing though this also means that the game does not stand out gameplay wise.

Where the game does stand out is in its story. Shay Patrick Cormac allows us to view the Assassin brotherhood from the perspective of someone, for whom the ends do not justify the means. Seeing the usual villains of the AC series from inside is a wonderful vehicle for them to show us that they are not mindless slobbering monsters.

Unfortunately, while the story is overall satisfying, when it ends, it feels like it did not squeeze as much as it could out of its premise. Don't get me wrong, the ending tie in is cool but the issue is a lot of characters don't get enough screen time to be as interesting as they could be.

Overall, the game offers a compact experience that I personally think would benefit from being a bit longer. A good palate cleanser between two your other games.

This is one of the best title of this saga because this game take all gameplay mechanics of Assasin's Creed 3 and Black Flag and improve it.The fantastic thing about this game is that we can finally see the other side of the coin. This game is a must play for Assassin's Creed fan
P.S.(I played both version of the game XBOX and PS4/PS3)

I really liked it as a game, too bad it uses the same mechanics as AC Black Flag, but other than that the story isn't bad, even though it wasn't very long I liked the story a lot

This game has a more unique story, though with repeating missions made it easy, like all the past games before it, mostly 4. It's an overall fun game compared to 4, and it's just under rated.

Assassin's Creed Rogue is an often-overlooked entry in the series. It's a fun compilation of all prior releases, and it has a cool story and strong characters. Its remastered version, however, doesn't add anything significant and falls flat since it doesn't offer any improvements to Shay Cormac's Assassin/Templar story.

The visual rework may not be the best we've seen, but this 2018 Assassin's Creed Rogue edition is a true opportunity for all the players who missed the game in 2014.

As a jumping in point, it would be difficult to recommend Assassin's Creed Rogue. However, as a product in and of itself, it is a cohesive experience with hidden levels of depth and progression possibilities, backed by exceptional presentation values and fun fighting and seafaring mechanics. Completionists looking for an irresistible challenge and franchise fans who missed out the first time around will find a lot to love here.
