I give this game a 5/10 because it's a half-baked project full of lousy mechanics and half-realized ideas. Clearly someone had a vision for this game, and it just didn't get fleshed-out completely. The game is woefully predictable in every way, and the absolutely terrible A.I makes it way too easy. The platforming mechanics are shoddy as well, and it's totally inexcusable when you consider this is the same developer that brought us "Rayman Legends" and "Child of Light" which are great platformers. As a former fan of the series, I'm just getting tired of Ubisoft cashing-in on the Assassin's Creed name. If I was uncertain about whether to get excited about AC: Victory, ACC: China made-up my mind for me. The AC franchise has hit an all-time low, and lately Ubisoft's incompetence level is at an all-time high. Seriously, what are they thinking!? Expand

Everything Wrong with Assassins Creed all in one convenient 5 hour game
Chronicles china tells the story of shou jun, the much demanded story of a Japanese woman assassin mentored by ezio, this isn’t exactly what people had in mind but this will do
The story is decent, it ties into the assassins creed lore, and the art design of this game is gorgeous now that I have the good out of the

The story is decent, it ties into the assassins creed lore, and the art design of this game is gorgeous
now that I have the good out of the way, let’s get into the actual game.
This is not at all what assassins creed fans will be used to and actually takes the worst parts of assassins creed and puts them all right here
This an extremely stealth based 2.5d platformer…this game isn’t necessarily hard, but can be frustrating at times
Mostly due to the fact that eventually you’ll just get tired of the monotony and playing the way the game wants you to and you’ll try to rush through… this game isn’t having that
you can’t play this game the way you want to.. This game forces you to play a certain way or be punished
You get a handful of tools you unlock through ought the game, you can use these tools to distract or stun enemies... you can hide in bushes and hop from hiding place to hiding place taking out each enemy one by one
but the game doesn’t want you to do that,
infact it doesn’t want you to kill anyone. Or the game wants you to kill everyone
this game grades you as you play, and if you kill enemies in a section differently you won’t get the highest score possible…
and if you don’t get the highest score possible, no upgrades for you
that’s right, you can stealth through half of a section and slice through the rest...
You can hide in the shadows for half of a section and assassinate in the shadows through the rest...
You have to pick on game style and stick to it...
You do get weapons, you get a sword, a hidden blade in your boots… but the combat system is garbage...
For starters your health bar is a joke... get ready to die in 1 to 2 hits for most of the game…
especially from the annoying throwing stars or crossbows that every enemy has
A little over halfway through this game theres an enemy with an indestructible shield that can only be killed by flipping over and getting to his back.. Only problem is, flipping over an enemy is super confusing, and when you finally get to his back he turns around before you have a chance to attack him... don’t worry though you can run to a wall and climb away, but never mind he has throwing stars, youre dead, restart. Aaaaaalll the way back at the beginning of the section
Do an optional objective along the way that took forever to do?
Don’t worry you get to redo that too
the checkpoints in this game are also complete garbage adding to the frustration
Its so disappointing to give a combat system and be so against players using it
If you’re an aggressive player like I am, you’re going to have a tough as nails time playing this game…
2 enemies at a time is hardly doable..3 or 4 and you better just set your controller down and let your death happen…
you’re forced to have to resort to stealth….
So if you hate stealth like I do, you’re out of luck… which is a shame
there are some pretty cool time based runner levels that were the highlight of the game for me...
I think a game of this type could really benefit from a faster paced style hack and style of gameplay...
This would definitely make the experience more enjoyable...
I know assassin’s creed fans love stealth… I even love to try my hardest to be stealthy in the main games as much as I can…
But unlike in the main games, I feel like if I don’t play the way the game wants me to I’m not allowed to enjoy the story which is why we’re here anyway….
If you’re going to force me to play one way and stick to it to progress my character or get completionist trophies, why even let me do hand to hand combat….
you’re putting cake in front of my face and smacking me for eating it.
Why are you punishing me and hindering my progress because I use a tool you hand to me which is combat…
Just take it away if you’re going to grade me at the end of every section
    Insanely cheap replay tactics.
Speaking of cheap replay, you can play a new game plus mode if you haven’t got enough of this game…
but you will long before it’s over.
I give Assassins creed Chronicles China a

I've been a loyal assassin's creed fan for quit some time. Have played almost every game. Still seeing an evolution in the aspects of each game. When I bought the season pass for this game I had such high hopes for china chronicles. But that hope is crushed now. Unity already disapointed me with it's story even though the coop gameplay and graphics were impressive. But this game literallyI've been a loyal assassin's creed fan for quit some time. Have played almost every game. Still seeing an evolution in the aspects of each game. When I bought the season pass for this game I had such high hopes for china chronicles. But that hope is crushed now. Unity already disapointed me with it's story even though the coop gameplay and graphics were impressive. But this game literally feels like it was made passionless without the spirit or felling of a real ac game. It isn't the concept of the side scroller. To me that looked like a fresh idea with a new way of percpective. It is the concept that forces you to play one way or you die. Combat sucks so you probably want to rely on stealth. No way that you get the chance to do something creative. Get off the path and you're death. Fighting or assassinating people should be a joy in this game but it actually got tedious. Even unity i enjoyed even though the gameplay was similar to 1 and 2 but it was still wel excecuted and there was still room for different approaches even more than the old ones. But this game has so many restrictions and so many stupid concepts that I sometimes just facepalmed myself during the game. And the story? No deep story, no real character development, the people that you kill you don't really care about and you have no idea what kind of vengeance drives the character .Story is dreadful and not up to part with the previous ones. It isn't completely torture but it sure isn't the game that the ac fans deserve. Ubisoft don't **** it up with Ac victory. And the other 2 side scrollers you're going to give? If they are the same as this one i'm really going to pissed off. Don't buy this game. You will be dissapointed if you are an ac fan . Want to try out ac? buy the old ones for the pc or try black flag for ps4. Maybe a little bit more expensive but you will get a far better experience. Because this ain't worth it. I'm watching you ubisoft. Please don't **** this up!!!!!!

Btw, normally i don't do any reviews because i'm actually a casual gamer. But as an ac fan who has been loyal to this franchise for a long time and watched it's progress. I think i've gain the right to judge this game. Ubisoft needs to change things with ac and needs to put more effort in it. Even in these smaller side scrollers. It doesn't matter if it looks amazing ( and it does) if the gameplay is tedious and story is dreadfull there certainly has gone something wrong. And i'm saying again. Dont **** this up Ubisoft!! Please treat my beloved franchise with the care it deserves. Not only graphics but also the exerperience should improve.

This standalone game prefers the setting where it takes place on Asia. Not the first time in the Assassins' Creed Trilogy. But it would've been better if the game was more great and the development time fixed.

However, it's still great by its nature. Similar battle system and gameplay gets you back on the road in no time. Although, the AI is somewhat annoying and the story is bleak.

    What Kind of Adventure?

2-D Platforming adventure. Was it fun? I surprisingly had a lot of fun playing the game. Are there any similar games? It was a platformer like Donkey Kong or Mario but its a Stealthy platformer. A fun spin and a unique experience for me. Favorite Character? There is very little to know character development and you only get to play as 1

    Favorite Character?

    Favorite World/Stage?

I really like the stages that were speed runs. Basically you just had to go through the stage as fast as possible.

    Would you play it again?

No but I am interested in playing the other Assassins Creed Chronicles games.

    Any Complaints?

Length is bit of an issue. Its really short.

How many hours did you play it?

    Maybe around 6 hours.

This game is ok but doesn't really capture what makes the assassin's creed games so good in the first place.

Pretty 2D stealth platformer that plays more like a handheld game than a home console one, which in this case is no bad thing. Assassin's Creed stripped down to its essentials in an enjoyably uncomplicated way.

It’s not a must-have game, even for Assassin’s Creed fans, but I had more fun with it than with Rogue. [06/2015, p.54]

Get past the rubbish revenge tale and you'll find a brilliant new take on a series that needed it. [July 2015, p.77]

The greatest sin of Assassin's Creed: China could be found in coming after the excellent Klei's Mark of the Ninja. As a whole, the work of Ubisoft is less satisfying and original, with a worse game design and narrative. Nevertheless, it is quite entertaining.
