Once again Naughty Dog has delivered a game that feels like a movie. Unfortunately the game was rather short. Naughty Dog have improved the multiplayer aspect of the game by allowing players to join in during a match which was a big issue in the previous title. The multiplayer experience is rather predictable as all it takes for one team to dominate is to control the spawn points of "Power Weapons". An abundance of DLC's make the game a costly investment for those who wish to obtain all trophies. There are a few online trophies that are very tedious and require long grinds to acquire. Despite these small issues the game is very enjoyable. Expand

I think the first Uncharted was the only one with a nice plot. But all the other facts of this third part make it a really good game, perfect to play it again all the way through a couple of times. However, nothing new has been added to the gameplay. If you're someone who expects to see an evolution of the series, you'll be disappointed.

    Story:
The story follows the same premise as the previous two: Nathan Drake is searching for a new treasure that has yet to be discovered. Meanwhile, the villain is attempting to do the same in order to gain power. The story didn't bring anything new to series and is simply the same exact formula they've used in the previous games. The only difference is that this game explores Drake's origins and his relationship with Sully, which was the best thing the story had to offer.

    Graphics:
Uncharted 3's graphics are nice, with amazing lighting that emphasizes certain areas. I enjoyed the various areas that they traveled and had the best looking settings by far compared to earlier entries.

    Verdict:
If you're big Uncharted fan, I would recommend this game. However, this game didn't bring anything new to the table and simply rehashed the gameplay and story elements to make a new game. This is still a great game, but didn't quite live up to the standards set by the previous two entries in the series.

Not as revolutionary as Drake's Fortune and not as good as Among Thieves. Drake's Deception is kind of like Indiana Jones if Michael Bay was in charge. It has terrific graphics and epic set pieces, however the story is cliched and too similar to previous titles and the gun play becomes tedious and repetitive. Its still a very, very good game and better than any competitors out there.

The game was fun, but more or less I think it was just Uncharted 2.5 honestly. Not much changed, and it probably was just a "quick break out the third one to make a lot of money" or deal.

Needless to say, it wasn't a bad game. It didn't live up to Uncharted 2 "which was a solid 10/10 in my book" but it wasn't as good.

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is great in terms of gameplay and a graphical boost from Among Thieves, but falls a little flat to match the qualities that the first and second entries have in common in terms of engaging story and characters. It’s a drop-dead gorgeous game indeed, but it’s nowhere as thrilling as its previous games that Naughty Dog has made.

Nice game, but in the later stages of the game they try to up the difficulty but fail a bit. Adding unrealistic things in does not make it nice, but just more difficult which is sad as the game and story are really good. Feels a bit to much like a movie though and i have to do do everything at exactly the right time and i prefer open games in which i actually need to think a bit.

Well, this is it. Uncharted 4 is just around the corner and i've finally completed the first 3 games, so let's see what Uncharted 3 is like, before Uncharted 4 gets here.

STORY: Uncharted 3 actually explains how Nathan and Sully first met and what they are searching for this time. It all centers around this ring that can tell the location of a lost city...somehow. And just like before it's pretty much a race to find it first and get...something inside the city.

The story overall is pretty strong, but i feel like the formula for it is just more of the same, making it very predictable by the end. Furthermore there are some characters that are introduced at the beginning, but then in the later part of the game they never appear, leaving the question of: why were they here in the first place?.

The story, in my opinion, doesn't top Uncharted 2 plot, but i still feel like it does a fine enough job and hey, we get to see 15 year old Nate and that's nice.

PRESENTATION: In terms of graphics Uncharted 3 looks...pretty much just like Uncharted 2. I'm sure there was some improvement, but i don't really notice a difference. The great animations, models, physics and music are still here and the voice acting is just as good as before. But it does have some problems:

First...agh man. I don't really know what i have with Naughty Dog games, but i always manage to find glitches in every single game i've played with their mark. Now in most cases, like in Uncharted 2, their minor ones and don't really prevent me from enjoying the game, but this right here is just pure chaos and i always fear that my PS3 might explode or that the game is gonna collapse.

We have everything: Falling through the floor, textures not loading, characters not moving, audio sync errors, getting stuck in places and while the game does have some frame rate drops, i counted 2 times where the game just totally freeze on me and i had to reset the console and do the mission all over again because of it. On top of that we also popping everywhere, from characters and textures alike.

I don't know if it's my PS3's fault (which i doubt because i had no problem with Uncharted 2), but this certainly prevented me from enjoying the game to the maximum potential, nevertheless i still think that it's a good looking and sounding game, but it is the definitely the most unstable out of the bunch.

GAMEPLAY: Uncharted 3 in terms of gameplay...it's pretty much the same as the last game. You still shoot with the L1 and R1 triggers, throw grenades with L2, switch weapons with the D-pad, you get behind enemies to kill them silently, you resolve puzzles, you can cover, etc. But the biggest change was definitely the focus on melee combat. In previus game's i rarely used it, but in this one you are forced to do it you want to or not and heck it's the first thing you do when you start the game.

So how does it work?...eh roughly the same. You still attack with square button and avoid attacks with the triangle button, but this time is all done with quick time events and the circle button is also used in many occasions...and you know what?, i feel like it was a change for the better since it fleshed out the combat a bit more and it also makes it more useful. So useful in fact that sometimes running to an enemy and punching him to the dead is the ideal strategy.

The parkour system was also tweaked, but not in a good way. In Uncharted 2 you could move ,in many occasions, in a 3D plain (the most obvious example is the part where you climb a train), but in Uncharted 3 we don't nearly as much of that and we're back to just pressing X a few times in a 2D plain to get from one place to the next, which really limits the depth of the parkour system, Uncharted 2 got it right so...what gives?.

Finally we have the ability to throw back grenades at the enemies by pressing triangle at the right moment (which really comes in handy with the tougher enemies) and that sometimes you will go throw stretch allways that...have absolutely no impact on gameplay...

And...that's it...no really there's pretty much no other change whatsoever. The stealth, the weapons, the partners, the aiming and just about everything else stays the same, which is disappointing, but since i didn't ***** about it in the New Super Mario Bros reviews, i'm not gonna ***** about it here, but i will say that if you just finished Uncharted 2, give this one some time because otherwise it's gonna get very repetitive and old very fast.

Overall Uncharted 3 is a good game, but when you compare it to Uncharted 2...well...it's just seems very weak both from innovative, technical, story and improvement standpoints. I still recommend it if you haven't tried it already, but play Uncharted 2 first since i consider it to be the better experience...just avoid the first one at all cost. Oh! and before i forgot, this game and the last one have multiplayer!...that i've never touched.

Anyway, i'll give it an 8/10.

I like Marlow and Talbot as villains, but their mysterious nature is never revealed clearly beyond being a ancient order. Talbot in particular never explains how he is able to manipulate or outsmart Nathan and his friends throughout the entire game and even at his death nothing is gained.

The visuals are still as impressive as ever. Still using 30fps, but still maintaining without much drop. It pretty much is 2 just in a different setting. Still great voice acting, good set pieces, barebones story, solid gunplay and cover and nothing really raises the bar. That's fine because the second was pretty good for what it was and playing it safe after achieving massive success from 2 was a smart move for Naughty Dog. I like Cutter in this game alot because he feels like the fan who gets to guest star in one of Nathan's adventures. The voice actor really nails his British accent and mannerisms.

The biggest issue I have now for the Uncharted series is not having the balls to kill off characters. In a scene where Cutter could easily have died by Marlow and her men, he instead just jumps and breaks his leg instead. Even when Sullivan gets shot in the exotic city, it was merely a hallucination by Nate when he drinks the djinn-corrupted water. The dialogue and delivery really makes the player feel like Nate is in over his head and should stop before something bad happens. Having this and bait the player into thinking someone will die and not follow through is incredibly ****

Uncharted 3 is definitely a blast to play and I would recommend people to check it out if you like a big dumb action movie. It's plot sucks, but its acting and setpieces are definitely fun to watch. The pirate ship, airship and cargo truck/horse trek is very wonderful to be apart of. The multiplayer is still not that great, but for fans and newcomers it might be a distraction. Very good game in the end.

This game has a few other technical quirks that were absent in previous games, mainly as a result of Naughty Dog's ambition. For example, while walking through enclosed areas, Nate will occasionally put his hand on the wall to stabilize himself. However, half of the time, this fails completely, and he just ends up putting his hand on, and propelling himself off of, absolutely nothing. The highs of this game far outweigh the lows, though, and it's exceptionally rounded out by a bevy of absolutely excellent puzzles and glorious, interactive set pieces. Expand

Despite the unfortunate things UC3 doesn't hit the nail on the head, the sheer joy and evocative sequences and chapters and puzzles in this game more than make up for.

Another amazing Uncharted installment. Heart pounding gameplay on intense moments from shooting enemies to fighting them hand-to-hand combat. They significantly improved the hand-to-hand combat with this game. A must-have game for PS owners!
Unfortunately antagonist weren't as amazing as the previous one but they're definitely still good. Uncharted 2 set the bar too high

The third part of Uncharted looks great, with more epic sequences than the previous game, however, the story (although it tries to have more weight with flashbacks and more characters) still lacks a certain weight, the gameplay has not been as polished but It keeps working and being very fun. It has some very tedious levels and I think it does not beat the second part.

Totalmente recomendado. Bigger and better than it's predecessor in every way, Drake's Deception brings out the big guns but fails to think of a more interesting story concept than the one that was already used in the previous two games and thus starts feeling a bit predicatble.

I have lots of dear nostalgic memories about this game when i first played it in 2011 on ps3 but recently i gave another go to the uncharted trilogy with next gen ps4. I have to say that this game is still as awesome as in 2011. Love how they finally implemented good close combat system to the game that is still to this day fun and brutal. I just love to replay missions and just beat enemies in close combat, it never gets old! Drake's deception has maybe three times more epic moments than the previous adaptations which includes bar fights, sinking ships and falling planes. Those moments are just best in the series. Soundtrack is incredible and it still gives me goosebumps.
This game has almost none negative things that really affect the gameplay than movement system being sometimes kinda clunky. But i have to name couple of them. AGAIN the main villain and their story arc is just mediocre. They are just these bad guys without better than mediocre motives. Even the plot feels little bit ripped from the last game with all the lost cities and stuff. Just with a different location moving from snowy mountains to huge deserts. On top of the final act is just like from the last game. Nothing new. Just the same old plot used again. I was going to give this game 9/10 but after writing this review I decided that it's closer to 8 than 9
I fully recommend Uncharted 3 to all action/adventure game fans and if you played the first two you have to play this too to complete the trilogy

Great game but I consider it less than "among thieves" and " A thief's end " This game was so messy and suffered from a lot of problems :
-The plot wasn't as good as the 2nd game ❌
-The combats were medium, flawful and duplicate❌
    -There's a huge problem with pacing ❌
-The game's sequence of events is basically just a reproduction of the events of the previous one and that was so ovbious❌
-There were some issues with the gameplay The game was slow-paced in the first half and fast-paced in the 2nd ! ❌
-The villains did not take enough time to be built and developped or rather they were poorly written ❌ : Marlowe's character was terrible and simply did nothing in the game and in regards of Talbot the writers chose to keep him strange and mysterious hopefully something at the end will be revealed about him but instead nothing happened

The story tries to explore on the relationship of Nathan and Sully, but I feel like it doesn't really focus enough on this idea. It has an amazing flashback sequence towards the beginning that could have very well been made into its own game that I believe would have been an overall better experience. The villains in the Uncharted series have never really been that good, but they are absolutely terrible in this game, and quite frankly don't belong in this game. On the bright side, the addition of the new character Cutter is really great for the short amount of time he's on screen. All in all, this is a great experience that I feel could have been more. Expand

The platforming and movement controls are all as fluent as they were in Uncharted 2. The devs improved on the fist to fist combat system, giving you more options after a parry, and more ways to use the environment for a finishing blow.

    - Narrative -
The story and characters are top notch as expected from Uncharted. You see old faces return and a few new ones, and the same kind of humor and intrigue within the dialogues. This entry also sheds some light on Drake's and Sully's past, which is awesome if you've followed the protagonists journey since Uncharted 1.

    - Visual & Sound -
As you would expect from a Uncharted game, you'll be taken to various locations. Most notably, there's an awesome desert sequence, where the game tries to simulate the dread and hopelessness of being stranded in the middle of a desert. I thought this part was pretty cool. There are also a number of sequences where Drake is in a trance state. The visual effects used in these sequences were interesting. And of course, you can expect epic tracks during intense action sequences.- -

    - Replay value -
UC3 features multiplayer battles and co-op. I personally never tried it, but it think it'd definitely give you a reason to go back and play after the single player campaign. There are also a bunch of awesome "making of" art and videos you can unlock, which are all interesting.

    Thanks for reading.

It's impossible to be indifferent to 100 guys in a black suit and red tie (with almost the same faces). The game is beautiful, yes, and plays beautifuly too. But... they stepped so much further between U1 and U2 that's impossible to ignore that U3 doesn't look as inspired. It's like they started running out of ideas, I don't know. This is a great game, but it feels sub-par for the Uncharted franchise. Great, indeed, but not the greatest game, nor the best Uncharted. U2 remains the best thriller so far. Expand

I found UC3 to be a somewhat disappointing sequel. It is a decent game but in light of the outstanding quality of its immediate predecessor I did expect a more entertaining experience. More focus has been placed on melee combat, which has been refined, but it is still fairly ropey and you are often encouraged to engage in it when there is a lot of shooting going on around you. More focus has been placed on melee combat, which has been refined, but it is still fairly ropey and you are often encouraged to engage in it when there is a lot of shooting going on around you. This often leads to frustrating deaths as switching between melee and shooting can be quite cumbersome and you are often left as an easy target. The pacing of the game is also inferior to UC2. Where UC2 ratcheted up the intensity of the action at a consistent pace, leading to a brilliant climax ,UC3 takes quite a while to get going and the first half could only be most favourably described as subdued. When it does get to its most intense chapters there are never quite up to par with UC2 and the game then sloooooows down just before the final chapters to a grinding pace that I found quite misjudged and frustrating. These games are clearly aping the beats of an adventure movie, most noticeably the Indiana Jones series, so why the designers didn't stick as closely to this pacing template is quite confusing. They got it just right the last time, so why not stick to it?
It also feels shorter than the previous games and has quite a ho-hum finale, and to add to its bland troubles the main baddie of the game is about as exciting as a cardboard flavoured lolly pop. Think a stoned and bored Helen Mirren and you're pretty much there.
The story isn't bad but it does have a faint smell of repetitive odour and several characters actually question the necessity of the quest, almost as though they've broken the fourth wall and are winking at us. The main cast all return but even their appearances feel somewhat perfunctory, as though they were contractually obliged to return.
This is not to say the game is without its strengths: It looks absolutely gorgeous, and there are a number of very impressive set pieces, what with the budget undoubtedly being so high. There were a few moments of real emotional connection with the characters, which is rare, and good to see, in action video games. Having spent three games with most of these characters it is nice to see they still have depth and imperfections worth exploring.
Had this game been released before UC2 I still don't think it would've reached the high scores of that outstanding title, but it would certainly not have been a disappointment in any way as it is certainly superior to the first.
I did enjoy it but was constantly comparing it to UC2, willing it to be better, but it just never quite got there. I do hope there are more UC titles, but that the next one ups the ante again the way the second one did. This is a game that should be rented rather than bought as there simply isn't enough replay value and the multiplayer, whilst fairly enjoyable, is not good enough to justify a full price purchase.

Good graphics and motion captured action does not make a good game. I would consider this more Uncharted 2.5 than Uncharted 3 as it doesn't really add much new to the formula, infact, in a lot of ways, it takes a step back. Be prepared to fight off waves and waves of enemies in order for Naughty Dog to pad out the levels and make it seem like you're getting more gameplay than you really are.

The weapons and combat system have been altered in a way that I think is detrimental to the enjoyment of the fights and it really just irks me that there's still lots of unfixed problems with combat, such as finicky grenades landing in unreachable places, or enemies being able to hit you through walls despite the fact you are concealed in cover.

Overall, a bit of a disappointment, but it definitely has a lot of aesthetic polish. But then again, so does a brass toilet.

Uncharted 3 had some adventurous fun and I recommend for a rental over the weekend but there is not a lot of depth to the game play, story or campaign to recommend as a purchase. The story is predictably cut and paste from The last crusade, there's some charm and is descent enough to watch, however there isn't much character development and is kinda forgettable and lacks surprises. The environment graphics look very nice, the character models do the job at a distance but look strange and jarring at close range in the cut scenes - the character eyes look weird. I was expecting so much more from this game. I bought my ps3 2 days ago and this game was one of the reasons why I did. This game isn't bad it's just not all it's hyped up to be (still can't believe freaking ign gave it a 10. . . damn Greg Miller). I'll start with the pros. The game is absolutely gorgeous. Probably one of the prettiest console games ever made. Another highlight of the gameI was expecting so much more from this game. Probably one of the prettiest console games ever made. Another highlight of the game is the cut scenes. During the campaign I was looking forward to the cut scenes more than the gameplay itself. Next is the voice acting. Top notch. Not much more to say then that. Last is the multiplayer. A great improvement from UC2's multiplayer. Now the cons. The campaign is ridiculously linear. All you do is move from boring puzzle to boring puzzle, run into the enemy and hide behind something and kill them all, and sit through a cool cut scene, etc. There are some great moments in the story mode, but 80 percent of the time your doing the same thing over and over again. Very short as well. If you want you could finish the whole game in 8 hours or so. So there you have it. A good game, but not a great game. If you really want to play the some disappointing campaign then just rent it. I don't think there are any other features that could justify a full purchase unless you really like multiplayer. This game features one of the most amazing stories and the most interesting characters ever. It has gorgeous vistas, intense new interactive sections, loads of new creative ways of moving through brilliant and never-before featured locations.

You will find yourself remembering the fun in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and wonder why it doesn't really work this time.

So in conclusion not a bad game at all, in fact quite a good game (yes 7/10 is good, not awful) but not quite my cup of tea, so I'll watch movies for my deep stories and plot twists and keep playing games that are all about play for my personal tastes. :) Expand

The characterisations by the actors is second to none and even though this tall-tale takes you to fantastical places and events, the script is never once unbelievable. You never feel like an outsider. If anything, you'll feel right at home, ensconced in the constant drama of this loveable cast of returning reprobates and reprehensible villains. [Dec 2011, p60]

It's more than just the best entry in an outstanding series though - it epitomises the very reason many of us play video games. And that's its greatest achievement.

Only a few camera troubles stopped us from giving Drake's Deception the highest rating. Uncharted 3 is without doubt the best PS3 exclusive game of this year. [Dec 2011]
