    2021 review, it doesn't age well.
    it feels a bit generic and super repetitive, when you encounter the big guys that you need to defeat hand to hand for the 5th time you just want to kill yourself.
    They added nothing new compared to Uncharted 2.
    Voice acting was good, and some other elements are good too but I give it a 5 because I was expecting more after the 2nd installment in the series

    Great story, great graphs, awesome soundtrack full of thrilling moments and amazing gameplay. The perfect ending for a Ps3 trilogy. Drakes Deception, is one of those games you want to play every once in a while.

    Very similar to the previous game. Graphics are beautiful for the time, animations are still high quality. But after a very strong start the story starts loosing focus and the set pieces although good aren't anywhere near number 2. Finally, third times a charm because the final boss is just as garbage as the other 2 games. It may sound harsh and nit picky but in the end it is still a greatVery similar to the previous game.     This franchise never seaze to amaze, slightly equal to the previous UN2 but not better, yet smart sequel’s sequel, great missions and locations, better graphics and more insane set-pieces, action packed but doesn’t feel connected might be story flawed but still better than many games out there, the soundtrack is the best in the series, a nearly 9.5/10 must play masterpiece .

    In my opinion, Drake's Deception is the best of the trilogy. It had the most interesting story and most cinematic scenes of the three. Even after some many years it is still amazing.

    My favourite Uncharted game. Naughty Dog were at their finest with this one in my opinion and the way they pushed the CELL was amazing. In some regards, I miss Amy Hennig's direction for the studio.

    Bueno, la tercera entrega de la saga, a diferencia de las dos que le preceden, muy similares entre a sí a simple vista, cambia la fórmula original y hace un cambio notable en la jugabilidad. En Uncharted 2, perfeccionaron la terrible jugabilidad que ofrecía la primera parte, por ello pienso que cambiar este aspecto en el tercer juego es un error gravísimo. El sistema de disparo empeoraBueno, la tercera entrega de la saga, a diferencia de las dos que le preceden, muy similares entre a sí a simple vista, cambia la fórmula original y hace un cambio notable en la jugabilidad. En Uncharted 2, perfeccionaron la terrible jugabilidad que ofrecía la primera parte, por ello pienso que cambiar este aspecto en el tercer juego es un error gravísimo. El sistema de disparo empeora mucho; la escalada es similar pero tiene ligeros matices que en ocasiones te hace sentir raro, pero aún así no es un aspecto negativo en este videojuego; esta vez se le da mas importancia al combate cuerpo a cuerpo, no entiendo el motivo ya que consiste en darle a tres botones; la historia no es nada del otro mundo, supongo que es acorde al proyecto; ya sabemos como trabaja Naughty Dog, y gráficamente no se le puede poner ninguna pega; los puzzles en esta entrega son más largos, pesados y frustantes, no le aportan nada positivo al desarrollo de la historia; la duración es entorno a 7 horas, aceptable; y por último, la diversión que nos ofrece el juego. Personalmente, este es el punto mas difícil de criticar, es decir, ¿el videojuego, a rasgos generales, está bien hecho? Sí. ¿Es divertido? No. Puede llegar a ser entetenido porque realmente está bien realizado, pero no nos ofrece la diversión que nos ofrecía Uncharted 2. No sabría decir si es el cambio en la jugabilidad, la irrelevancia que genera la historia, o la repetividad de las misiones, pero este juego no es nada divertido. Por eso creo que aunque la ejecución se buena, el resultado es mediocre.

    It has all the pros of the previous versions plus better movement animations which we see more of these in naughty dog's next game,"the last of us" music gives you goosebumps, storytelling is still amazing and surprises you though felt a little repeated.

    Um bom jogo , apesar de algumas vezes termos bugs e algumas fases mal elaboraras , a experiência cinematográfica se mantém desde a primeira cena . Resumindo um excelente jogo é muito divertido

    Uncharted 2 > uncharted 1 > uncharted 3

    Very long/annoying combat. Annoying difficulty spikes. Average cover shooter with good graphics and good story.
    Pacing issues, some combat too long. No new mechanics in terms of gameplay through out the entire game

    Ein atmosphärischer und bombastischer 3rd-Person-Shooter, der die Reihe in Ehren fortsetzt. Level, wie der Flugzeugabsturz oder die Schiffskatastrophe werde ich nie vergessen. Leider sind die Online-Server abgeschaltet.

For reference: This was my first Uncharted game and I started here because it was recommendation by a friend and also available for just 15 Euros. I expected something like the Tomb Raider reboot but more cinematic and more action orientated. I say it is a fitting enough description for the game for me. The story follows Nathan Drake and his friend / partner / father figure Victor Sullivan on a quest that could lead to uncover the legendary lost city of Iram which is called “Atlantis of the Sands”. On a sidenote: This is actually a city believed to really have existed. It was mentioned in various sources and historians / archaeologist still debate where Iram was located. Back to the game. As other parties are involved too it becomes a cat and mouse game and a hunt around the world. Also you see more of the backstory of the characters like Nathan and Victors first meeting. The story is well done and I praise the ideas, pacing and characters. Be it the main character, Sully or the antagonist I wont / cant spoil. I think this is excellent material for a good videogame movie adaptation (My second thoughts were that they will screw this up the same way as other franchises). From graphics and technical side it is also excellent. The character models were excellent and for its time it was truly amazing. The motion capturing and voice acting is close to being a Hollywood movie and did impress me. For the gameplay: I enjoyed the puzzles and think there were some good ideas. However the battles / fights were not my cup of tea. It is nothing that distinguish it much from other games. I would also like more room for exploration. In short I often rushed through fights to continue the story. I want to again mentioned that the fights are excellently crafted and the presentation is good. They somehow fail to win me over which is a bit strange as other similar games succeeded. Cant exactly pinpoint this. Overall this was a really good game and I see clearly why it became a hit and has a loyal fanbase. For me it is not entirely my cup of tea. I say it is a masterpiece that I find good not awesome and I am curious how much negative ratings I get for this here on Metacritic.… Expand

Moreover f@ckin ret4rd Drake always takes cover when you want him to roll and rolls when you want him to take a cover, or starts hanging when you want him just to jump.
    There even more f@ckin climbing (push x) and ruining (hold forward) sequences that feel like interactive cut scene. Game really feels like a movie, and a **** one. Plot is beyond ret4rded and even get unnecessary filer with pirates.

After the amazing couple, I thought that nothing better could come, and yet it still works, and Naughty Dog really got over it here, because this action bomb has not been surpassed by any game for a long time. The two have improved them dramatically and the three is still honing them to perfection. In the second part, I praised the snowy locations, but it's even better here. We will see the desert and I love the desert and this was perhaps the best I've experienced in the game. In addition to all this, the beautiful graphics, which already excelled in pairs and were slightly improved here. As far as the story is concerned, here it is in my opinion the best of the whole series. I don't want to spoiler much, but right at the beginning of the game it all looks pretty inconspicuous to us, but it's going to crumble fast enough and a plot is made right away and yes, as I mentioned, it happens quickly and that's exactly the key to the whole game. Everything is fast here! The game has an incredible pace and especially the last hours of the game is the absolute adrenaline that the game will release on you and you won't even be able to breathe at that moment. In addition to all this, a perfect negative, which improves it all a bit and one passage with it was really a luxury, but again I don't want to spoiler. For me, this is an excellent game that I recommend.… Expand

    Il manque ici le côté rigolo (le second degré plus ou moins (in)volontaire…) d’Uncharted 1 et 2 et, clairement à court d’idées, les développeurs ont sabré l’histoire ou ce qui tient lieu d’histoire ou de pseudo-scénario. Rebondissements grotesques, dialogues insipides et stupides à se tailler les veines, c’est souvent extrêmement pathétique.

    Reste la partie « action » au maniement perfectible (pas d’aide à la visée ?), une jouabilité toute Gears of Warienne (c’est-à-dire lourde, voire lourdingue) le minimum syndical donc, rien de très excitant même si ça reste à peu près correct. Les combats à mains nues reprennent le système perfectible des Batman Arkham, pas de quoi pavoiser non plus : ça reste désagréable. Quant aux passages plateformeux, ils ne sont pas à la hauteur d’un Assassin’s Creed, loin de là.

    Bref, du « film interactif » qu’on subit, spectaculaire certainement, mais toujours de série B très bête… ça fait passer le temps quand même et ça reste plus ou moins divertissant… et les quelques énigmes mal branlées proposent d’elles-mêmes la solution au bout d’une poignée de minutes… Ouf, on peut passer au script suivant…! heureusement qu’on ne s’ennuie pas (trop) !    … Expand

    It´s 2021, found an old working PS3 and I am revisiting the top PS3 games recommended by Metacritic. So far, the games with scores around 9 are fantastic, however Uncharted 3 seems the exception to me.

    I think it is absurdly overrated. I swear I have tried to like the game, but from all edges seems an unfinished product anywhere outside the beautiful graphics and lighting. Kind of    It´s 2021, found an old working PS3 and I am revisiting the top PS3 games recommended by Metacritic. So far, the games with scores around 9 are fantastic, however Uncharted 3 seems the exception to me.

    Kind of reminds me to those laserdisc games of the mid 80s, where you had to find the correct sequence, or a "death scene" was played.

    The platform engine is as well limited and bold. The AI of the enemies? come on! Doom 1 was far more elaborate.

    Just like the first game this is a below average cover shooter disguised as adventure game just cause it throws a few half assed puzzles here and there. It has got some cinematic appeal to it but not in the level of a Metal Gear or Mass Effect, and unless you can endure below average shooting as core gameplay for almost the entire playtime, you're probably not gonna want to finish this dull piece of crap and move on to something else.     The story and characters are top notch as expected from Uncharted. You see old faces return and a few new ones, and the same kind of humor and intrigue within the dialogues. This entry also sheds some light on Drake's and Sully's past, which is awesome if you've followed the protagonists journey since Uncharted 1.

    - Visual & Sound -
    As you would expect from a Uncharted game, you'll be taken to various locations. Most notably, there's an awesome desert sequence, where the game tries to simulate the dread and hopelessness of being stranded in the middle of a desert. I thought this part was pretty cool. There are also a number of sequences where Drake is in a trance state. The visual effects used in these sequences were interesting. And of course, you can expect epic tracks during intense action sequences.- -

    - Replay value -
    UC3 features multiplayer battles and co-op. I personally never tried it, but it think it'd definitely give you a reason to go back and play after the single player campaign. There are also a bunch of awesome "making of" art and videos you can unlock, which are all interesting.

    Story: 8: Gameplay: 9; Graphics: 10. The 2nd game is so perfect that Naughty Dog cannot surpass themselve in making the 3rd one, because it didn't improve much on Uncharted 2. But then, since the 2nd one was near perfect, Uncharted 3 still build on that with great combat, a little bit better than Uncharted 2, the graphics was also better, but the story is as not interesting as the 2nd one

It's more cinematic than Uncharted 1 and 2 for sure, something I sometimes found frustrating but sometimes very interesting, though the story in my opinion is inferior to any other Uncharted game especially when it comes to it's conclusion. For me, this is the black sheep of the Uncharted series but not to say it's a bad game at all. What you love about Uncharted is here - just some drawbacks this time.     This game is just amazing. What can I tell? Great story, great atmosphere, great and smart dialogs, great characters, great graphics, the flow is so dynamic and it makes you wanna live again. Everything fits just great. Pure fun! An unforgettable, epic game that just makes you wanna keep playing. 10/10

    A great all round experience, visually stunning. The villains here are overall better than Uncharted 4, 2 and 1, even if they are caked in plot-holes.

    An all round enjoyable experiences the multiplayer was addictive and I sunk hundreds of hours into that.

    Uncharted 3 starts strong introducing our villains Marlowe and Talbot, as well as a new ally, Charlie Cutter. The villains at first were intriguing, but as the game continued became nonsensical in that they were able to do things that made NO SENSE. The plot is alright, though the ending wasn't satisfying. The game makes up for it in it's cinematics, gameplay, and characters. I was able toUncharted 3 starts strong introducing our villains Marlowe and Talbot, as well as a new ally, Charlie Cutter. The villains at first were intriguing, but as the game continued became nonsensical in that they were able to do things that made NO SENSE. The plot is alright, though the ending wasn't satisfying. The game makes up for it in it's cinematics, gameplay, and characters. I was able to enjoy the game quite a bit if I shut off my brain thus why I give it an 8.     Great game but I consider it less than "among thieves" and " A thief's end " This game was so messy and suffered from a lot of problems :
    -The plot wasn't as good as the 2nd game ❌
    -The combats were medium, flawful and duplicate❌
    -There's a huge problem with pacing ❌
    -The game's sequence of events is basically just a reproduction of the events of the previous one and that was so ovbious❌
    -There were some issues with the gameplay The game was slow-paced in the first half and fast-paced in the 2nd ! ❌
    -The villains did not take enough time to be built and developped or rather they were poorly written ❌ : Marlowe's character was terrible and simply did nothing in the game and in regards of Talbot the writers chose to keep him strange and mysterious hopefully something at the end will be revealed about him but instead nothing happened     … Expand

    So Part 3 has some very interesting parts but also some which are very boring.

    Story

    For the most part I liked the story, but it is again a world saving mission. The Enemy was at the beginning very interesting but at the end it was just the same. There were parts which were about Drake and for me that was very interesting. Cause they didnt go deeper into this it was a missed opportunity for me.

    Gameplay

    Action Gameplay was better, better weapons more ways to counter (throwing the grenades back e.g.) but its just not that good aged weapon gameplay. For me again there were to less riddles and they are way to easy, the climbing parts were cool though.

    Scenery/Graphics

    They step up in Graphics and the cutscenes, there were a lot of very cool video sequences or parts. For Example the Convoy and the horse riding were like an Indie Film. But the Part in France in that big building were just to much for me. Again and again they just wanted to put more destruction on top of everything. You fall and fall and fall down, it was just to much; I really didnt liked that part.

    Summary

    Sometimes less is actually more. I think this is a good action adventure, but it was sometimes just to much of Explosions, Destruction and more. A little bit less would have been good, also the story kinda lost me at the end, they just didnt went the way I would have liked, instead it was the same worldsaving scenario.     Uncharted 3: Drake´s Deception is a dignified successor to its nearly perfect predecessor. Everything from visuals to story and atmosphere is breathtaking. While the second Uncharted is still the better game, you can´t go wrong with buying this one. Precious!

    I think this entry in the series is a bit underrated within the fandom of Uncharted. I really like it almost as much as Uncharted2. Obviously Uncharted 2 did some crazy things for the first time.. and this one certainly doesn't make any huge jumps.. but still has some of the most memorable set pieces in the whole series.

    I've played lots of ps3 games this last year and a half in my PS4, because of PSN. So I don't think my problem with Uncharted series is about playing older games. I just cant like the series.     Oh, and one thing i've hated from the first game of the series and I kept playing the next ones hoping it would get better, and it doesnt. The hitboxes are terrible. Just awful. Headshots here are, apparetly, random. And bodyshots are tanked by the enemies like they were made of steel. IIt's just frustrating and boring.
    Weird enough, I kinda liked the story. Its dull and predictable, but it seems like a crapy afternoom movie. (And I say that as a compliment, believe it or not.    … Expand

    Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is great in terms of gameplay and a graphical boost from Among Thieves, but falls a little flat to match the qualities that the first and second entries have in common in terms of engaging story and characters. It’s a drop-dead gorgeous game indeed, but it’s nowhere as thrilling as its previous games that Naughty Dog has made.

    This game has only two minuses:
    1. Kinda too short ending. I felt like it ended up too easy and the fight against final boss seemed too easy and short, not like regular fights against final boss.
    2. Too many understatements between 2nd and 3rd part, for example what happened between Nathan and Elena.
    Besides these two aspects, the game was perfect.

    I played the PS4 version and it is great, but in my play through got a little overwhelmed with the controls different from the previous entries in the Uncharted games, also i encountered a lot... and i mean a lot of bugs in the remastered PS4 version. But is probably just me. I still think the story of Uncharted 2 is better than the story of Uncharted 3, but this is still a crazy fun addition to the series (especially if you like a challenge). The puzzles are solid, the graphics are good, the locations are all unique and beautiful. TheUncharted 3 is a big step up from Uncharted 1 and 2 in terms of enemy difficulty, and of course graphics are a step up.     Replayed recently and was pretty disappointed. Set pieces and characters are high points, but the location jumping and winding narrative took me out of the experience. Not a bad game by any means but a low point in the series.

    Bigger and better than it's predecessor in every way, Drake's Deception brings out the big guns but fails to think of a more interesting story concept than the one that was already used in the previous two games and thus starts feeling a bit predicatble.

    The peak of Uncharted series. Nothing before or after this one compares. Great graphics, mechanics and most of all story. That's the game worth playing multiple times discovering all it's little secrets.

    The visuals are definitely breathtaking for PS3 console, the story is fascinating and simply awesome. Unfortunately gameplay of Uncharted 3 is not neverending.
    What i love about this game and Uncharted games at all is that "nonstop action".
    Perfect ending of one era. 10/10 game.

    Its a MUSTPLAY game for sure :-)

    The adventure/exploration part of the is interesting and fun. Some very unique places / situations. But the game itself is pretty bad. It is a single formula repeated 1000 times. You go to some place, the game throws you to a tricky situation, spawns all enemies which you need to shoot to advance. Again and again. There is only one way how to play it. (Applies to SP only, haven't played the MP).

Good pacing, amazing set pieces, well written characters, constant action, great story and enjoyable gameplay made it a masterpiece for me. I've seen a lot of people complaining about locations always changing after few chapters, but for me it was a good thing, because every area was unique and we could explore it and experience it in very different ways. One of the best thing in the game for me was that Sully was with us nearly through the entire game which is a great thing, because i think he is the best character in the series. And they even made 2 separate chapters telling us and showing how Nate and Victor got along. That's why it was kinda sad when Sully suddenly 'died' because i got really attached to him while playing this game and the prequels, so i got shocked and happy the minute i realised that his 'death' was just Nate's illusion. The villains in this game weren't as good as in the previous games and i totally understand the criticism at those characters, because they left as missed opportunities for many people including me, although they still weren't the worst villains in he series for me. And i forgot to mention the soundtrack. It is the best in the series without a doubt, It is very climatic and matches the enviroment you are currently in. As for the gameplay, it felt pretty enjoyable and smooth even adding a few more mechanics such as grenade throwback or takedown from above. The singleplayer campaign even had my favourite weapon in the franchise which is G-MAL, which a lot of people hated i don't know why. I'm gonna admit that AI in this game was pretty clunky, but every Uncharted has this problem when you don't play on harder difficulties. Also i gotta include voice cast
    which did an amazing job at Motion Capture for this game and their voice acting was just perfect, especially Richard McGonagle's. Also i want to thank Amy Hennig for making this beautiful franchise.    … Expand

    The characterisations by the actors is second to none and even though this tall-tale takes you to fantastical places and events, the script is never once unbelievable. You never feel like an outsider. If anything, you'll feel right at home, ensconced in the constant drama of this loveable cast of returning reprobates and reprehensible villains. [Dec 2011, p60]
