This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The single player campaign is shorter than Uncharted 2 by some way but contains some utterly jaw dropping environments and set pieces. I was able to clock it in just over 10 hours but loved every minute of it. This is graphically, one of the most astonishing looking games I've ever played and a fine testament to Naughty Dog's ability to wring the best out of the PS3. The voice acting again is superb as are the performances from Nolan North and the rest of the crew. My only gripe is that the finale lacks punch and the plot as a whole plays it rather safe with one moment towards the end where a main character gets killed only to turn up safe and well moments later. The multiplayer experience is a considerable improvement over UC2 and I've already sank dozens of hours into it. There are a wealth of new perks, upgrades and other goodies that compel you to keep playing. I can't wait for the forthcoming DLC map packs. The games as standard has 12 maps, some new and some old and they're all great and very varied. This is easily one of the greatest multiplayer experiences I've ever had. All in all this is an astonishing game and a worthy sequel and gets my firm vote for best game of 2011. Expand

Naughty Dog can do no evil. The story is fantastic, the characters are believable and likeable. The gunplay and platforming are both spot on. I never got bored or felt as if something was repetitive because I was always doing something new. The game even made me laugh, which VERY FEW games have been able to do. I really did feel as if I was playing an Indiana Jones movie or one of my favorite books. I have not played the multiplayer or co-op which I am sure will be fun in their own right, but lets face it, this isn't COD; everyone buys this game for the single-player. I must say, this single-player is one of the best out their. Some of the critics complained it was more of the same, but I say why mess with perfection. If they make ANOTHER great story with MORE exciting scenes, what is to complain about. Yes, the gameplay is similar but I would not want drastically different anything, because why would you stray from the best reviewed ps3 game of all time? I cannot think of one bad thing to complain about, since they added the alternate shooting by listening to the fans. Expand

If when I say "graphics" you think, high resolution, realistic lighting and shadows. You won't be as impressed as you should with this game; it runs at 30 FPS, it's 720p and the lighting is good, but we're not playing Crysis here... We're playing Uncharted 3, a game were dust and sand sticks to your character's hair, a game where your clothes will blow in the wind and the water looks real. I have never once let out a short burst of laughter in disbelief before, especially when playing a game. This game changed that. when I saw sand cascade of a sand dune when i got close to the edge, and when I bolted for an exit as a storm of water chased me around the small corridors of a sinking ship, I did let out a breath of disbelief in what I was playâ

The shooting and cover system work perfectly, and there have been some additions to melee fighting, but surprisingly (not so surprising if you've played Uncharted before) where the game really shines is during cutscenes. What's even more surprising is that this doesn't feel wrong. It doesn't feel wrong that a game's cutscenes are better than it's gameplay yet it's still critically universally acclaimed. Few games can immerse you in the way Uncharted does. It's quite simple, playing the campaign will be some of the most enjoyable nine hours you've spent with video games. The multiplayer isn't as good as the campaign but still very enjoyable. It's functional, very competitive and can be addictive. It's much more rewarding than Uncharted 3's multiplayer, with the new levelling system, loadouts, boosters and kickbacks. While the campaign is quite short at 9 hours, you should play through it more than once to find all the treasures, complete it on crushing, or just to experience it again, and the multiplayer should keep you playing for tens of hours longer. If you have a PS3, not having this game is out of the question, because this is as good as video games get. Expand

It was the story. It was full of plot holes, the characters (esp. villains) were INCREDIBLY underdeveloped (with the only one I liked being abruptly taken away), there were some ridiculous scenarios, a large portion of the game serves no purpose to the plot and a lot of major events happen because of just coincidence. It was an utter mess, and a step back for the series. For a game this cinematic, I was hoping Naughty Dog would put more effort into the story.

No, the game is not an instant classic, the plot is terribly derivative of previous titles (not to mention the third Indiana Jones movie), the platforming is still just linear "jump by pressing X while pointing with directional pad no skill/timing necessary," and the gun mechanics are wonky. Outside of that run-on sentence of ill will... well, the game is still fun. Granted, the fun parts are played for you, like watching a nifty 8-hour action movie that pauses if you don't hit "play" every time Drake is supposed to jump to the next pole waiting to break under his weight. I went ahead and played hard mode after trying normal for the hour it took Drake's Ring of Death to kick in (more on that later), because otherwise "Uncharted" starts to make my eyes glaze over in a haze of nondescript non-U.S. folk I'm massacring for dubious reasons. If I wanted that, I'd play COD or any other FPS from my screwed-up country. No, Uncharted masks its racism with that 90s Spielberg/Lucas sense of adventure. Except Drake doesn't even bother saying "IT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM." No, he's more honest about his sense of entitlement. He wants the money. Or something. It's not really clear whether Drake is after treasure this time because of money, revenge, heroism, or some unexplained drive for self-worth. "Unexplained" is really the right word, since none of this will be resolved by the hail of awesome explosions we see along the way. The game goes by painlessly, in a series of spectacular set pieces that really are a pleasure to play, no matter how many times I cursed the aiming and stealth system (Does he really need to be glued to that wall when I'm trying to sneak-kill the guy standing two inches away?). But, in all honesty, the set pieces in the more-racist predecessor were better, and yes I know that sentence was an awfully back-handed complement/insult. If you wan eight hours of meaningless fun you'll forget as soon as you put the controller down, turn the channel to UPN. Or play Uncharted 3, whatever. Oh, Drake's RIng of Death? Well, an alarming number of gamers reported a glitch where their games would not load after their first time exiting the game. "Uncharted" took over a week from purchase to load after my first try, during which time I had foolishly deleted my save in hopes of appeasing some data god. So I had to play the first six chapters again, like being forced to watch a protracted recap of the most straightforward Keanu Reeves movie imaginable. (Speed, Maybe?) Expand

There are some improvements in the combat and a few new guns that weren't in Uncharted 2, but not much else different. Puzzles are frustrating. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm a great fan of the series. So I was really excited about this game and read many of the reviews. So when I played the game, some of the comments in those reviews did go through my head. Many people felt that this game was good but that it did not live up to the hype, as it was evolutionary, as opposed to revolutionary as was Uncharted 2. I will have to agree with them.

    GAMEPLAY
I did enjoy the fighting mechanics, but feel there is a little more that can be done there. I haven't really played any of the Batman games, but hear the fighting mechanics are pretty good. I think ultimately, Naughty dog's team could improve this aspect even further for the next game. I also think, it could be cool to have some fighting using different weapons that Nate could pick up (like blunt objects or swords).

The shooting dynamic of the game was not very different from Uncharted 2, but somehow the aiming was a bit harder this time. I got better at it at the end of the game, but it did need getting used to. PLATFORMING
The platforming aspect is still enjoyable but sometimes the hints of where to jump next are a bit too easy. I would not mind being able to figure out without such visual cues where I should go next.

    STORY & PRESENTATION
The graphics, music and acting are top notch as ever. I really did enjoy the story with all the twists and turns and love this kind of adventure story. I wonder if there will be a next game, but I really do hope so.

I felt the set pieces were not quite as stunning as Uncharted 2. Perhaps it was just that Tibet was such an alien setting to me, that it made it very charming. I thought though that they could have used the desert theme a bit more. There was not much fighting in the desert, which i thought was a shame. I realize there isn't much "cover" there, but I think they could have managed something.

I loved the chapters with the pirates and the cruise ship and also liked the bit with the plane, but thought it was much too short... i was excited when i saw it in the trailers, but it felt it was over very quickly.
In general, I did feel the game was shorter than Uncharted 2 and was a bit let down by the ending (the last levels were not as interesting somehow).

All in all, it's still a fantastic game. One that I plan on playing through again really soon. I am also looking forward to discovering the co-op mode and multiplayer more as well.

I still highly recommend it to anyone who loves the series. However, I think everyone's expectations were set very high, which of course leads to a bit of disappointment.

Sitll, the story, the music, the gameplay and the beautiful settings will just sweep you into this adventure all the same!

Despite falling victim to the "more-of-the-same" syndrome, the game still manages to be thoroughly entertaining from beginning to end. Where the game differs is in its extra focus on hand-to-hand combat which I felt was often misplaced and underdeveloped. My favorite addition to the game however is the Free-For-All multiplayer mode, most modern shooters rely only on team-based multiplayer these days so it was very refreshing to see this alternative. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have told myself that Uncharted 2 was my second favorite game of all time. When I heard that Uncharted 3 was coming out, I was excited at first but then got scared as I wondered can this game topple the second game...YES! YES IT CAN...but it's not a breath of fresh air though.

    Pros:
-This is an experience. One Minute your watching a cutscene then suddenly you are controlling Drake as he walks through the desert. Only moment, I am going to spoil. Other moments you got to see for yourself. Let's not mention that a lot of the gameplay is dynamic therefore the world constantly moves around you even if it is a set path. Hopefully game designer will take notes from this making more similar experiences in the future.
-Naughty Dog once agains pushes the PS3 even further, with better looking character models, and photo-realistic locales.
-Melee Combat has provided more of a challenge to the game.
    -It's Uncharted.

    Cons:
-The plot while still good loses focus and in retrospect is the same exact set up as U2. U2: Drake finds the lost city of Shamballa. U3: Drake finds the lost Atlantis of the Sands.
-Action moments while still a blast once again draw simliar to U2. Hell at one point, a character even says Deja Vu, huh?
    -Some Multiplayer changes are unneeded.
-There are bugs, but none that are obnoxious.

Overall, Uncharted 3 takes the franchise a step further even if this game is not as refreshing as Uncharted 2 was compared to to the first one. There is no doubt that you will not go wrong with Uncharted 3. WHAT ARE YOU DOING GO BUY IT NOW!

A complete masterpiece, a must-have in your collection Uncharted 3 is just a new way to demonstrate that graphics, sound, multiplayer, action, story and even more things could be in a single blu-ray disc.

Single Player mode leaves a great story from start to end, also you need to repeat it to find all 101 treasures and beat the game on crushing, so there is a great replay value here.

Multiplayer disappoints a little with players that uses blindfiring with KAL-7, but if you are experienced you can evade this things that affect your gaming experience. Locations are incredible and don't forget the retro maps (apparently more are coming soon), the maps that i like so much were Airport, Yemen, Facility. New modes like Hardcore, deathmach with 3 teams (2 players each team) are a new way to enjoy this game. Ah but Old modes are coming back and Coop too. You will have a lot of entertainment so you will not leave this game for hours, even weeks or months is up to you.

About the Gameplay aiming and shooting a weapon is a little different to Uncharted 2, because it looks more realistic (so for people that said aim sucks are completely noobs that includes the 146 guy reviewing the game negatively, also i respect the beginners so they need to learn to get used to it, its not difficult to dominate it), the weapon will not be like Unhcarted 2 so we need to accept those changes to have a more realistic game. (all indicates that update 1.02 modifies a little the precision of the weapon, i'm not sure it looks the same). Also grenade system is a little slow compared to U2, but it does not mean that you can not do the same as its predecessor and could be modified with an update.

And what about DLC, maybe at the beginning you will find no content, but as time passes you will find new content and retro maps pack, so the game will not be useless for a long time. Oh i almost forgot the updates that will make the experience even better.

Uncharted is a great experience that everyone needs to try, those cons are not taken into account for me and you will find that special editions are totally worth it to have.

So is up to you if you liked the game or not this is a point of view that i don't care negative rates (that's for guys that still think aiming sucks and maybe are ones that uses blindfire a lot too bad :( ) , good rates are welcome (No comments over here lol you liked the game and also you know how to play) :)

Enjoy your game (if you already have it, if not what are you waiting buy it!)

    See you on multiplayer

However, this game is far from perfect. I'm a HUGE fan of UC1 and UC2, but this one has been so fraught with technical problems that I can't quite immerse myself like I had hoped. UC3 is playing havoc with my ps3, as well as many others complaining on Naughty Dog forums. Many are experiencing an eternal spinning ring at loading screens. Some, like myself, have CONSTANT audio cut-outs, environment drop-outs, and cutscene freezing issues.
As an avid fan of the UC series, I have waited patiently for a month now, HOPING that Naughty Dog would remedy the situation.
Unfortunately, the first patch fixed 3D. The second patch added theatre mode for cutscenes, motion blur, and aiming.
Naughty Dog has not addressed any issues for those of us who can hardly even PLAY this game. They address complaints about 'oh, I can't aim my gun as well as I should' and 'I can't get my multiplayer to work properly!'... HOW ABOUT ensuring that 100% of your customers can actually PLAY this game, rather than forsaking the minority who get a substandard or even nonexistent experience.
UC1 fan. UC2 fan. UC3... has completely destabilized my confidence in the series.

Uncharted 3 had some adventurous fun and I recommend for a rental over the weekend but there is not a lot of depth to the game play, story or campaign to recommend as a purchase. So imagine my dismay when I discovered that this was actually a hastily made and half-baked follow up to the genius of "Among Thieves". It is a terribly un-even game - while some chapters are the sensational action-riddled romps we've come to expect from Nathan Drake, others just plain fall flat. Sadly, most of the brilliance of this game is over before you know it, while the not-so-brilliant moments seem to drag on and on.
I am scoring this a 7 because of my love for this franchise, and not because of my love for this particular installment. As a body of work, the Uncharted series is excellent, but "Drake's Deception" does not measure up against the bar that Naughty Dog themselves had already set so high.

You made Uncharted 2. Uncharted. F*cking. Two. Starting on a new game immediately afterwards must have been almost soul crushing. I know you all are very passionate about what you do, and it really shows in the finished product, but even so......needing to follow up your masterpiece right away instead of letting it soak in for a while was probably a very tough thing to do. Your efforts on Uncharted 3 are inspiring. You packed in tons of cool moments, while trying to flesh out the character of an Action hero. No easy task. With all due respect though, the pacing of Uncharted 3 didn't excite me too much. I felt that the game started with a whimper, and then all the set pieces after that were more like flashes of lightning than a building storm. It seems also that some changes were made just for the sake of change. The way Nate walks near walls has been compared to "Captain Jack Sparrow" and that analogy made me laugh several times throughout the game. The increased focus on puzzle solving, while very clever in design, takes away from the rollicking action sensibility which made UC2 so fun to play and replay. All of the puzzles in Uncharted 3 make me less inclined to trudge through the game again because they detract from the excitement of the game. And now, for my biggest complaint about the game: the gun fights and shooting controls. I don't enjoy them. The fights are tedious where Uncharted 2's were fun. Wave after wave of enemy, often as you're just leaving another plot point on the checklist. And the fact that the shooting controls are less responsive than your previous game utterly frustrated me. I stopped playing the game halfway through for about a week, in hopes that the controls would be patched. I waited and waited, but the patch never came. I eventually soldiered on through the game, but was continually annoyed by the controls. Sure, I adapted to them, but they weren't very much fun for me. All in all, I'd say that playing Uncharted 3 became a chore. Something i was obligated to finish, without feeling utterly compelled. Had the gun controls been better, i might have actually liked the game a lot more because i would have been enjoying that other 50% of it instead of constantly being reminded of how this game doesn't feel like the others. Please fix the controls. Expand

Characters you actually cared about return and new ones are brought about, this not pushing the game to feel like you meet people you do not want to. A new melee system and improved multiplayer system make the game even better. Staring down an enemy below, jumping on to him for a take down, rolling over and ripping the ping of a grenade off another enemy, running away tossing your gun at a different enemy and sneaking in a quick knock-out super punch as you hear the final scream of a man as he explodes, and finishing it all off with a nut shot to a brute pirate while yelling "oh kitty got wet" was a thing of pure beauty. The game-play is the same as Uncharted 2 with some tweaks, the main one being the difficulty. The enemy's are more ruthless and some trial and error in certain set pieces which will test your skill and your patience. The graphics are slightly better now with some very beautiful areas. Now that all the characters are established from the last 2 games there's a bit more focus on the villains, who are more complex then the cliché Russian war-criminal from the last game. Overall this game is pure brilliance in the single-player department combining fast paced action and plat-forming with confusing puzzles. The multi-player will suit most people but it gave me frustration, so if Modern Warfare multi-player makes you tear your hair out most of the same is here. Co-op however is a blast, with its own storyline its good fun with friends. All around its a very good game with some minor flaws with repetition, if you liked the first two you'll love this and its a nice surprise for new people who haven't played the others Expand

The story is filled with plot-conveniences (like Nathan conveniently brushing up on Yemen right next to Elena after being stranded in the middle of the sea) and tiresome quotes (like Sully's surprisingly honest quip about losing the plot). The melee animations are poorly done. Nathan frequently glitches in and out of group fights. It works but it looks ugly in the process.

Multiplayer wise, it's bad too. The animations took a huge nose-dive, and the models are noticeably poorer looking. They got rid of the traditional U2 Co-Op modes and combined them all into one, which forces you to play boring gold rush maps even when you don't feel like it.

I feel like the gameplay was a step up from the last as well as the multiplayer. The story on the other hand, has taken a hit. It felt like it was a bit rushed (the last quarter of the game showcased this). As always, the visuals were very impressive except for a few of the cutscenes which looked washed out. Overall all, a pretty solid game with multiplayer that will keep you busy for a week.

Overall a better game than the first, a little worse than the second in terms of single-player but does have the best online multi-player and the only game in the series to feature split-screen gameplay. I recommend it to anyone who really liked the multi-player in U2, because the single-player doesn't hold up as well.

(problem areas) Single player pacing, difficulty curve and controls: Uncharted 2 had a nearly perfect single player experience, 3 stumbles a little bit. Uncharted games essentially have three different modes: shooting, climbing and light puzzle solving. U3 has a hard time balancing these in the same way that U2 and U1 did. Shooting is scarce in the first half of the game, then it shows up and becomes too difficult too quickly. The combat set-pieces are overwhelming confusing, leading to inevitable and frustrating trial-and-error without much idea as to what i actually did wrong with each death. The aiming controls in single player are weirdly sluggish as well, even though they're fine in multiplayer but even then come with some problems and don't feel quite as sharp as other console shooters. There are moments of brilliance in some of the set-pieces other games can only aspire to match, but their overbearing weight on the experience as a whole (the entire game was designed and written around a few key set-pieces) leaves the single-player feeling a little disjointed, unbalanced and just kind of made me want to play U2's or U1's campaign one more time.

(strong areas) The muli-player is the best Naughty Dog has done so far. They fixed up the game modes so multiple game-types are included in a single mode, so a single game of team objective might include: brief team death-match, king of the hill, territories, chain-reaction and a spin-off of plunder that involves holding onto and protecting the idol for as long as you can. The same treatment was given to co-op arena, so gone are the days of getting stuck with gold rush, it will switch out for siege and then to survival. Also included is a neat new 2v2 spin-off of co-op arena called hunter arena that lets 2 people play as the normally AI controlled bad guys. The players assuming these roles can even pick what kinds of enemies they want to play as including snipers, grenadiers a few different types of gunners. It's a fairly entertaining twist on co-op, and is reminiscent of other games like Left 4 Dead that have combined co-op and competitive styles of play. They have also revamped the character customization across the board in all online modes, allowing you to pick boosters (perks) like before but now co-op also has access to various customizations as well. Weapons can be modded, clothes can be bought, and now medals earned in combat allow you to use kickbacks which are basically super-powers and you get to pick one for each load out. Some of the weapon mods are annoyingly expensive, ranking up alone hardly unlocks anything and it can be a bit of a let down when you finally get that mod you want and you aren't even close to affording it. Earning money in itself is a part of the mechanics, and there's a booster that helps you make more. There's even treasure gathering from chests scattered around the map or people you take down will randomly drop some. It does add a little spice to the flavor, but at a cost to the overall focus. There's some emblem stuff too but that's not very interesting.

Overall it's a pretty solid game, the single-player will leave you wanting (even though it's occasionally incredible, and worth experiencing, if only once) but the multi-player is fully featured enough to keep you around for a good while between the competitive, cooperative and hybrid modes. I'm a little baffled by the abundance of add-on content available so quickly and that hunter's club nonsense Sony is using to reel in even more cash, but I can't let that reflect on my final score.

This game a disappointment to me, even though on first sight, it pretty much is nothing than a copy of Uncharted 2, which I loved and still play now and then, with new textures and I'm not one to complain when a sequel is too similar to the prequel as long as it's still well done, so why do I not like this game so much? The graphics are, again, extremely beautiful and you are presented with a lot of "hold your breath" action scenes, but something's missing. I never dropped my jaw like I did so often in Uncharted 2. The story this time was weak. The developers mentioned somewhere they first thought of locations they wanted to implement and then they wrote the plot around these and it shows. The game is basically being saved by the likeable characters and their banter. Conflicts are being introduced only to be resolved and/or dropped a few moments later. The question of who to trust is being raised several times and could've been used very well to raise some tension, but then the issue is solved soon in a cutscene (sometimes even the very same one it arose in) and off they go to new adventures. The same could be said about the "supernatural" touch towards the end, albeit as always scientifically explainable? This time, it happens at the very ending and is nothing but a very, very short "intermission" that is over after a few shootouts and cutscenes when the idea itself would've been interesting enough to make it a much, much bigger and complex part of the story. Actually, the whole "endgame" lacks. When you find the place the search for which has been the whole point of the game, that section is over before you know it, no sense of mystery or exploring the place at all. The amount of luck and unlikely survival this time borders on silliness, it's really way too exaggerated and in some cases, laughable. It has been part of the series, sure, but it's overdone here, especially the inconsistency of how deep a man can fall and still go unharmed. The ridiculously linear and narrow nature of the levels is another issue. The Uncharted games were never sandboxy, but this time, they overdid it as for like 95% of the game, you'll feel like you're just following a tight corridor, even when the environment is supposedly vast. Platforming is more straightforward than ever and requires no thinking or observing of the surroundings, just a matchbox length short of being a Quick Time Event game. I absolutely hated the shooting sections this time. They're either ridiculously easy or unfairly hard, or rather, annoying. Whenever enemies showed up, I was rolling my eyes and I really disliked all the parts where they basically dropped you in a narrow arena with little to no way of moving around or taking cover, then send enemy wave after enemy wave at you, including heavy armored dudes that take a lot of damage and guys with "(almost and really)one-shot-kill-guns". And what's up with all the snipers, I swear it feels like they are in every battle this time, so you'll frantically try to run from cover to cover while fending of criminals and agents, but it's not always clear where you'll actually be save and a lot of these battles become pure trial&error to find the perfect route that leads you to the grenade launcher. Stealth sections are annoying this time as well, basically because the whole stealth system isn't all that deep but is used too deeply, different from U2, where it was just a nice change of pace now and then. Clairvoyant soldiers who all will know exactly where you are and come storming towards you as soon as ONE guy notices you somewhere on the map are annoying enough in the shooting sections, but become a pain when you, just for the sake of variety, want to get through a section silently and one mistake, be it yours or the game's, forces you to either restart all over or give up on sneaking and shoot your way out for the rest of it. One thing that is new and I really liked was the little QTE that would allow you to throw back grenades, but unfortunately, Nathan Drake will throw them against the wall he is taking cover behind more often than is forgivable. Other control issues arise with several actions being on the same button and the game failing to realize what you meant. A game like this also has puzzles, but as it proceeds, they become less and less until they're gone completely. I also understand this is an action game, but do the puzzles that it does have really have to be easy to the point where you simply open the journal to be given the solutions? I doubt gamers are that dumb. There's exactly ONE puzzle that requires a little bit of observing I also hate how the characters will keep telling you where to go and what to do (as if there were any other options) all the time. Overall, it's still a very entertaining experience and the chase sequences ar awesome, but as a game, it feels poorly done and the story never uses its potential. 7/10 Expand

Uncharted 2 was the best made game so far, now it is Uncharted 3. It has (minor) issues (Shooting felt a bit strange at first, also had some very minor bugs/glitches which is pretty atypical for Naughty Dog quality), but overall it's the best interactive experience there ever was.

The gameplay is fluid, even less emphasizing on shooting (still too much overall). The pacing is perfect

    The pacing is perfect (again).
The voice acting is perfect (again).
How the story is told is perfect (again).
    The characters are awesome.
    The visual quality is breathtaking.
The animations are one-of-a-kind in the gaming universe.
    The details are mesmerizing.
The quality of every aspect of videogame making is miles ahead of any other game out there.
Scenes inspired by Ico or Journey (Desert) are beyond amazing and nowhere to be found in any other mainstream action game.

Cons: Too short (about 7 hours) - but better too short than too long (which modern games fortunately "get" since some years)
The enemies in the beginning looked a bit strange (too much of the same suits)
Some (very) minor bugs (Orchestra starts or stops abruptly in 2 places, a scene "clipped" one time)

And finally the ending in an Uncharted game was as amazing as the other parts of the game (which it wasn't in Uncharted 1 & 2)

Overall, it wasn't a step as it was with Uncharted to Uncharted 2, but that obviously isn't the game's fault. It's just the fact, that Uncharted 2 already was perfect (the end boss aside).
10 has nothing do with being (completely) "perfect". It shows where it stands in comparison to other games. There isn't any other game which comes close to the quality that Naughty Dog creates.

A lot of time has been spent ensuring the consumer gets wrapped up in "what happens next". Yet, the developer didn't alienate those who enjoy collecting, puzzle solving, or shooting.

The story, character development & voice acting are all top-notch & really make the game what it is, an experience. It seems that all of the members of the original cast made the effort to return for this sequel which really speaks to the regard for which the actors & the developer hold for the franchise & really helps to provide a sense of continuity. I found the shooting as frustrating as the past two iterations, assigning the same button for dodging/rolling as grabbing/throwing an assailant was a poor choice of control scheme & sometimes the camera would move @ the wrong time which in turn would cause Drake to move in the wrong direction or "miss the mark" which prove frustrating from time to time, but this was not a common occurance.

The puzzles were moderately challenging & provided the needed breaks from the action/shooting sequences.

Multiplayer is fun & the leveling progression a la modern warfare gives the player something to shoot for & provides a lot of replay value.

I loved the game, I thought it looked as good or better than most top-tier games for the playstation & the score, beautifully mastered & orchestrated.

A must have, as well as the first two iterations!

The graphics are yet again jaw-dropping (the cargo plane may be epic, but the desert is, for lack of a better word, beautiful). I firmly believe that the plot is miles ahead of previous iterations. And the multiplayer was extremely impressive.

In fact, after playing both the July Beta and the Subway Promo, I don't think there's one other aspect in the Uncharted 3 experience that amazed me than what they did to the multiplayer. One of the biggest complaints found in the previous betas was the staggering amount of blindfiring, particularly because of how easy it was to rack up kills by doing it, and just for experimentation, I tried blindfiring myself multiple times in the full game. Now it doesn't feel like an tactic--it feels downright risky to use, and I don't think I earned a single kill from using it. The multiplayer, thus, feels very balanced and offers a much more rich experience than Uncharted 2 ever did. One of my most favorite inclusions is a new feature called Missions, where you have to complete a certain objective in a certain amount of time. There are around 150 of these missions, and if you plan to complete them all (and I do), it's going to take an insane amount of time to do it. These missions are so great because activating them gives the player (in my personal experience) so much incentive to play and win; no longer is the multiplayer just a rank-up and unlock system--though there's plenty of that here--it becomes a much more personal experience of accomplishment that I only ever found in a single-player game. Along with the handful of multiplayer packs soon to be released, I find this game to have insane reply value. It makes up a lot for what I find to be disappointing in this game.

The biggest fault in UC3 stems not from its multiplayer, its graphics, or its story. In fact, I find it hard to place my finger on exactly what seems wrong with it. Apart from the few bugs I found during gameplay--which is excusable seeing how large this game is--nothing seems entirely lackluster in the experience that I had, and what an experience it is. Yet as the game came to a close and the credits began to roll, I couldn't help but find myself in a bit of disappointment. No spoilers, I promise, but the last few hours of gameplay did feel a bit rushed compared to how amazing the first half of the game is, for me anyway. It seems to suffer from some of the same faults that Uncharted 2 did; that is, where Sully was absent, Elena and Chloe made up for, and it seems to be the other way around this time. Likewise, the last few hours doesn't impressive nearly as much as what the beginning sets the game up for. Uncharted 3 is not a disappointment by any means, but it suffers a bit from some of the issues found in its predecessor, and the fact that they arrive yet again is a bit saddening. Yet I find it hard to believe that there will be anything out there as incredible as Uncharted 3 was, at least for a while. Is it the best game on PS3? Maybe. It holds a vast amount of polish, save for a few bugs, but the single-player suffers from meeting player expectations without going over-the-top with them, and I can't say it was as impactful as Uncharted 2 was. Maybe it's my own fault for holding expectations too high, and that's why I'm not going to bash the game. It's still an excellent experience that anyone can hope to enjoy. The experience is blast all the way to the end; it's when you get to the end that you find yourself wanting a little more.

I'll stop there I suppose. Stop reading this and go buy this game, because its pros more than make up for its cons. The single-player is a unique experience that, while not perfect, certainly excels in many of the places that Uncharted 2 fell a little short. The multiplayer is a completely different ball game, giving players what I personally believe to be "the go-to multiplayer experience". The package as a whole is something that PS3 players must not miss out on. In everyone's eyes, it may not be as great as Uncharted 2, but it sure comes pretty darn close.

This game surpassed some of those demos for me, and at certain points it was unreal to me that I was actually playing a video game.

The waves impact with the elements around the levels, and the water floating back and forth on the surface as the rain poured down, took my breath away. Climbing on the walls of a ship, not knowing which way is up was disorienting and intriguing. Chasing someone through the corridors of an old town and seeing the care that has gone into the polygons in the background is one of the things that truly separates Uncharted 3 from the competition. The game as a whole consists of so many beautiful moments, both in regards to the the story and the presentation.

Combining elements of regret, loyalty, and adventure. The story is about a man with an unclear motivation, on a pursuit of buried secrets of the past, and the narrative builds around how his ambitions affect the people around him, allowing the player to get involved in the characters, and relate to them, which is unusually deep for a video game.

Naughty Dog as a studio has grown so much in the last years, and they have accomplished most of the challenges they have bestowed upon themselves for this game. Some have claimed the game is too cinematic and linear, but considering that it's what the Adventure genre has always been about, it's kind of like saying a comedy film made you laugh too much. In truth, the Uncharted series doesn't really do much that hasn't been done before, but rather builds upon the best elements of gaming and perfects it - taking it to a whole other level. Although not the same leap forward as Uncharted 2, the game is certainly not any less ambitious. And to say that this game has succeeded my expectations would be an understatement.

This game was the same story and gameplay as the others. What is new? Everyone criticizes MW3 for being like this, but UC3 does the same thing. Drake is untrained, but can take out 40 guys with body armor, only to be duped or back stabbed. I work so hard to get him out alive and the bad guys are just around the corner after I ran out of the only exit of a collapsing building. the gameplay mechanics don't play as well as other shooters. My biggest gripe. The campaign was crazy short for a single player focused series....Idk maybe other games have me spoiled, but this was a huge disappointment with merely a few good parts. Even if some bites of food taste good, but others are disgusting, you'll still leave with a bad taste in your mouth. Expand

Great, but multiplayer takes too long to set up.
The uncharted series has always kept up its insanely high standards, Uncharted 2 making it into IGN's game of the year. Uncharted 3 expands on the success making everything bigger better and raising the stakes. I won't say too much about the story, but i can say that it is pretty short. Thats one of the downsides. Uncharted 2 packed in

Uncharted 2 packed in multiplayer, but i never touched it, mostly because it was too hard to find a match and it took too long to load. This is the same here, but since the game is newer, there ARE people playing. Right now its pretty easy to find a match and it is pretty easy to set up, but takes much longer than games like Call of duty, then again, those games are mainly for multiplayer so i cant say much.

In the end, the package is relatiely short, but sweet. If your looking for a great game to last you the summer, pick up uncharted 3, and while your at it, pick up the first two like i did.

Before today, I have never played an Uncharted game before. I was aware of how big the franchise was, of course, but it wasn't until I saw the near-universal praise Drake's Deception received that I finally decided to pick it up. And dammit if I'm not glad I did.

What's there to say about this game that hasn't already been said? It has everything you could ask for in a video game... stunning graphics, great gameplay, and a gripping storyline. Although I could have just as easily picked up Drake's Fortune or Among Thieves I'm glad DD was the one I decided to buy. It's this generation's crowning achievement as far as action-adventure games go. It's hard to believe that in just a few years this game will look outdated but as of the moment this is as good as it gets. Absolute perfection

This game is Awesome. The story is incredible and unpredictable. The aiming system could be better but you get used to it eventually. They changed Drakes movements to be more realistic. And the graphics well they went above and beyond its phenomenal. And the multiplayer is a great addition for replay ability. Naughty Dog all i got to say is. WHERE THE HELL IS JAK AND DAKTER!!!!

The characterisations by the actors is second to none and even though this tall-tale takes you to fantastical places and events, the script is never once unbelievable. You never feel like an outsider. If anything, you'll feel right at home, ensconced in the constant drama of this loveable cast of returning reprobates and reprehensible villains. [Dec 2011, p60]

It's more than just the best entry in an outstanding series though - it epitomises the very reason many of us play video games. And that's its greatest achievement.

Only a few camera troubles stopped us from giving Drake's Deception the highest rating. Uncharted 3 is without doubt the best PS3 exclusive game of this year. [Dec 2011]
