Nov 2, 2011I suspect this will be one of the first titles to take a price drop, so if this time of the year is really punishing your wallet, you might want to wait, but for those who never got to play GoldenEye on the N64 or even last year on the Wii, you can now finally experience a bit of gaming history, freshly wrapped in a next-gen package that is so challenging, so fun, and so addicting, you might have trouble deciding what to play when all those holiday titles start stacking up.
-
Nov 2, 2011Even with all of the overly nostalgic conciliations, GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is a genuinely fun game in and of itself. Activision has made some incredibly intelligent decisions in their revision strategy (Daniel Craig is the first Bond actor who can believably kill a Russian since Sean Connery), but in the end, nostalgia just isn't a strong enough foundation to build a truly great game on.
-
Nov 15, 2011Technically, it should get a higher score than its Wii counterpart since its graphics are better, it has more content, and its online is more robust. However, I can't say that any of this actually makes the game any better, it just makes for more of it. More of an 8.5 is still an 8.5.
-
Nov 3, 2011The diversity and pacing is appreciated, the control is spot-on, the weapons are great, and the campaign is completely satisfying. The multiplayer is crazy entertaining and the Mi6 Ops mode adds plenty to the experience.
-
Nov 1, 2011Addictive multiplayer will keep you coming back for more, especially with all the different ways to play. Single player has its moments, but some rough edges (invisible walls and less-than-stellar AI) make the whole package suffer.
-
Dec 14, 2011Goldeneye 007: Reloaded is a fantastic trip down memory lane, as well as a very solid shooter in its own right. It controls well, the Bond universe is very much alive and kicking, and the reasonably-long and entertaining campaign is engaging. Though the online multiplayer is very average, split-screen multiplayer is as fun and rage-inducing as ever. If you're a fan of the Goldeneye series, or had any involvement with the original, you should definitely pick this one up.
-
Nov 21, 2011In the end, Goldeneye 007: Reloaded mirrors some of the best aspects of the N64 game and re-imagines them for the PlayStation 3 from its sturdy gaming engine to Bond-esq graphics.
-
Nov 18, 2011GoldenEye 007: Reloaded won't rewrite any FPS history books, but it will entertain each and every gamer smart enough to give it a shot.
-
Nov 10, 2011GoldenEye 007 has finally arrived on HD consoles. The story is not really new and the graphics aren't state of the art, but the multiplayer mode with all the local and online possibilities is really cool.
-
Nov 29, 2011Goldeneye's reputation was built on its stellar split-screen multiplayer, and Activision was smart enough to bring it back for this go around. As before, getting together a group of friends for a night of gunslinging is ridiculously fun, and the PS3 version even includes Hugo Drax with a Moonraker laser pistol as DLC (for those who purchase the game new) for some vintage Bond action.
-
Nov 15, 2011It just feels more personal when you run around with the colorful characters from the James Bond universe than your average grey marine. The singleplayer is also fairly entertaining and the multiplayer for up to 16 people is just awesome.
-
Nov 9, 2011GoldenEye 007: Reloaded brings the classic game into the modern world. Eurocom has done a fantastic job.
-
Nov 8, 2011It feels so refreshing to step out of army boots and into a tux, with GoldenEye providing a nice change from the norm. Despite not being the best FPS on the market, the game can easily stand tall and comes highly recommended for those suffering from an overdose of modern battlefields.
-
Nov 1, 2011GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is mostly unchanged from last year's Wii version, but it's still a fast and exciting shooter that doesn't rely on ancient memories to be great.
-
Dec 5, 2011Altogether, I was pleased with the game. It immediately jumps to the top of the Move pile and all of the small features add up into an impressive amount of content. It could have used a bit more polish but if you're a fan of 007 you can't do much better.
-
Dec 4, 2011They managed to create a game that doesn't ride on nostalgia alone by becoming GoldenEye 2.0, and they were able to create a modern day FPS that doesn't turn its back on its roots, which is, in all fairness, the saving grace of Reloaded – a game that won't disappoint new and old fans of the 007 franchise.

Official PlayStation Magazine BeneluxJan 2, 2012The thing we love most about Golden Eye is the split-screen multiplayer. You don't see this enough in shooters anymore. Luckily Eurocom can be counted on to deliver the goods: four people can fight it out on one screen at the same time in several exciting modes. [December 2011, p.64]
-
Nov 22, 2011A good and entertaining shooter, although somewhat far from the best games in the genre. But the classy style of James Bond makes it special.
-
Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)Jan 6, 2012The biggest issue with Reloaded isn't in the game itself, but in the release date. [Jan 2012, p.80]
-
Jan 3, 2012It is a title that takes advantage of its origins, but doesn't depend too much on nostalgia to win the interest of the player.
-
CD-ActionNov 29, 2011It looks like current low budget games, does not offer the intensity of Modern Warfare or very emotional moments but still provides simple, unpretentious old school fun. [December 2011, p.90]
-
Nov 25, 2011A competent update of the updated cult classic from Rare, pushed out to die in the worst possible release window, almost guaranteeing it will go unnoticed by all but the most hardcore Bond fans. The single player campaign is polished and enjoyable, the multiplayer mode is a quick, frantic affair enjoyed either over internet or in a more limited four player split-screen locally. Easily the definitive GoldenEye-experience.
-
Nov 8, 2011Like Bond himself, GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is sharp and smart; a modern Bond game, as much about stealth and muscular take downs as gadgets and getting the girl. It doesn't always get it right: fire-fights could have been lifted from any other FPS, and level design can be on the linear side, but it's a strong outing for 007 and by far the best Bond on PS3.
-
Nov 3, 2011Overall, I was actually pleasantly surprised by GoldenEye: Reloaded. There are enough nods to the source material to keep the game from being a complete derailment of the franchise, and while the multiplayer will never measure up to the original, it still has its English charms.
-
Nov 1, 2011Considering all of the extras Eurocom added to Reloaded, I have no doubt the developer tried to make the definitive version of a modern day GoldenEye. However, I still feel like I would've been happier playing a $10 downloadable HD remake of the original game, similar to last year's XBLA release of Perfect Dark. GoldenEye 007: Reloaded still entertains, but stripped of its nostalgia, it fails to reach the status of an elite agent.
-
Nov 16, 2011The remade, re-imagining of GoldenEye is a spot-on update for Bond fans who missed the Wii edition initially.
-
Dec 13, 2011GR does little to rekindle your memory of the original Golden Eye. While there are some references to the original title, they aren't enough to make GR more than a mediocre title.
-
Nov 21, 2011Goldeneye 007: Reloaded is a workmanlike game which does exactly what it says on the tin, but little more. Solid then, but utterly inessential, especially for those who have sampled the Wii iteration.
-
Play UKJan 9, 2012All the corridors of a Call of Duty, but none of the spectacular set pieces or solid gunplay. [Issue#213, p.88]
-
Nov 15, 2011This remake doesn't stand up to the reputation of the classic Nintendo 64 shooter and that's a real shame. Disappointing visuals, incredibly sucky AI and frustratingly long loading times are the main bad guys here.
-
Dec 6, 2011In isolation, Reloaded is a serviceable Bond shooter – although there are better options out there. But when judged against its highly acclaimed ancestor, the kids are only just alright.
-
Nov 24, 2011Not a total disaster, but we expected much more from it. Reloaded is a game that doesn't stand out in anything and will be easily forgotten in the most competitive genre of the gaming market.
-
Nov 10, 2011Quotation forthcoming.
-
Nov 7, 2011A decent, if fairly by the numbers, port of the Wii game.
-
Nov 3, 2011A serviceable shooter, but it lacks the spectacle of Call of Duty, the tactical options of Deus Ex or Crysis, and the urgency of FEAR. In their place it has, well, not much.
-
Nov 8, 2011There are much better shooters on the market. It's time to hang up the cummerbund and bow tie and enjoy your martini with another game.
-
Nov 23, 2011A remake of a remake, GoldenEye 007: Reloaded proves that it is almost impossible to do. The visuals and the artificial intelligence are extremely disappointing. The nostalgic multiplayer is one of the highlights, but you have to expect more from a game that carries the name 'GoldenEye'.
-
Nov 12, 2011Reloaded is a game that doesn't do enough to win over gamers who never played the classic and for those who fell in love with this N64 classic, you might be better off wiping that dust off your old N64 console. The game feels like it was stuck in the middle of modernizing the experience too much and sticking true to the roots, opting to stay around the middle.
