Overall the HD remasters of FFX and FFX2 are a home run. Square Enix managed to capture the initial feeling of playing these games for the first time as well as making them much more beautiful to look at.

Final Fantasy X is a brilliant game that every JRPG fan should have played by now, and whether you’re experiencing it for the first time or returning for another playthrough, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is outstanding.

The remasters of both Final Fantasy X and X-2 are the perfect tributes to the fact that the older Final Fantasy games still provide breathtaking journeys which every RPG fan owes himself to experience at least once in his lifetime.

Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster is the best High Definition remaster we can see in the now-past generation of consoles. Aside from the quality both titles had, Eternal Calm and Last Mission are very interesting additional content for the fans of both games.

The modern day Square Enix track record rarely does itself any favors, but this is one instance where I think the company and talented folks involved should be commended for their effort.

With Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, Square Enix did an excellent job. If you did not play these episodes 12 years ago on PS2, then this is undoubtedly now or never.

Not only Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster is the best collection so far, but it gives you the chance to play in the best possible way one of the finest JRPGs ever made. Every fan should go back to Zanarkand and fight once more with Tidus and Yuna.

Final Fantasy X is still an astonishing RPG, with a great battle system, dramatic story and iconic characters. FF X-2 maybe is a step down, or a change of direction, but it's still a great game since its battle system point and a curiosity that a true Final fan must try, at least once in a lifetime.

Even years later, Final Fantasy X is still an exciting RPG, telling a compelling story with plenty of momentum. While the crazy girls-night-out theatrics of X-2 might still cause you to roll your eyes, the battle system is still fast and fun. For those who want the complete arc of the Final Fantasy X saga, the collection delivers. Even without a nostalgic lens, both games hold up well.

To just put it bluntly: buy this game. Even if you’ve played both titles before, there’s enough here to warrant a purchase. Final Fantasy X, at least, should be played by anyone who considers themselves even the slightest fan of roleplaying games.

For the Final Fantasy fans out there, this is a great collection that should be picked up. For newcomers to Final Fantasy or people who may have missed it the first time around, you get a pretty fine RPG with some decent game play, so there’s actually something here for everyone.

Two games and a good amount of extra, Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster is a good value for fans of the series and those who like jRPG games.

Square Enix has been proving for years that the old Final Fantasy-games are timeless and legendary. The same goes for X and X-2. You don't need a dose of nostalgia to enjoy both games.

If you're a fan of the previous editions, you should definitely get this. The stories and atmosphere are still great and the graphical updates really add to the experience. However, the camera's still lacking in places, which is a shame.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD does justice to the original with a high-quality conversion and many extras. The title has aged very well and makes us regret the previous chapters with a gameplay that takes us back more than ten years without ever letting us weigh the time that has passed.

Having FFX, FFX-2, and all that extra content splashed together with a fresh coat of paint lends itself to a game that is simply fantastic value for the buck.

Not every HD edition deserves a place in our room, but this one does. The story of Tidus and his fellows is still remembered among it fans, and this is a great opportunity to live it or experience it again.

A new must-have for JRPGs fans and, especially, for classic enthusiasts of the iconic Square Enix franchise. The inclusion of the Cross Play feature is a win.

Under any lens Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 don't feel ravaged by the father time - which is exactly what’s needed for spending another hundred hours across Spira.

Thus while these remakes do not offer much new, they are remakes of such high-quality games that they are worth revisiting, or visiting for the first time.

A really nice treatment of one of the finest moments of Playstation 2. Sure, some parts haven't aged all that well, but this is still highly recommended.

As a collection of all the parts of the Final Fantasy X saga — including a lot of content that has never been released in North America previously — it delivers an experience that comfortably sits with the best of the genre, even if it doesn't quite look the part.

Although they come with a few problems that only the nostalgic will forgive, the HD versions of both Final Fantasy X and X-2 have plenty to offer long-term fans and newcomers alike.

Both games stand the test of time and are worth the admittedly significant time investment, even if you don't hold a deep-rooted, nostalgic association to the original releases.

Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster is a nice remake of two great games. Technically (and that's the point of this HD version), there's nothing to complain about, and you will also be able to play some new content from the International editions. But we can't avoid a few disappointments: no Japanese voices and no cross-buy between Vita and PS3.

By no means as bad as people make out, X-2 is a strange but worthy inclusion, but it is likely to be the story of young Tidus that leaves a lasting impression.

With Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster Square Enix has done a great job refreshing two old games and turning them into something appealing for the young players of the HD generation. Both the graphics and the sounds of the games are in a very good shape despite their origins.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster Collection is easily the best available version of the two games. Some nagging flaws, like inconsistent HD visuals and extra loading times, do little to detract from the overall quality of the experience.

These games still hold up, and this remaster is worth a go if you’re willing to put up with the potentially fatal combination of unskippable cutscenes and that Tidus laugh bit.

This HD Remaster edition has an impressive amount of redesigned and unpublished contents, and a compelling graphics update.

A few iffy visuals and lingering shortcomings aren’t enough to keep this collection down. Boasting stellar gameplay, a still-epic storyline, and a fully realized FFX compilation, Remaster has plenty to offer new fans and old alike.

As far as videogame remasters go, Final Fantasy X and X-2 are at the top of the list as far as quality is concerned. It's clear that Square Enix put a lot of time into both of these beloved titles, and as a series fan I really appreciate that. They've made both of these great games even better with this remastering, and any fan of either should definitely check them out.

Square Enix has been known to rerelease subpar versions of its Final Fantasy games — just look at the old PlayStation port of Final Fantasy VI. It’s clear that the publisher put plenty of care into this version, giving those of us in the New World the complete package for the first time and no doubt pleasing fans with TV-like episodes that run with the credits.

Despite the visual update and the "new" material, this anthology falls just short of essential, but games don't have to be great to be worth playing. Sometimes, entertaining is enough.

Even though it's not perfect, this game is an exemplary case of what must be done with a remaster. Maybe its quality is inconsistent, but the extra stuff, trophy support and more make this rendition worthwhile.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is still an enjoyable adventure, mostly for those who played it back in the days. But even new players that are interested in the history of Final Fantasy can find some interesting mechanics here. The battle system is still intuitive and Spira is in all way as beautiful as ever. Even if the differences between the original and the remastered version can seem a bit small at first they become obvious in a direct comparison.

The graphics have received the expected uptick in resolution, but Square Enix has also given both games a decent once-over, adding additional environmental detail, effects, even facial animations for the main characters.
