Feb 23, 2011Atmospheric is the word I use to describe this game.A worthy sequel really. The audio is particulary excellent,as well as the graphics. The gameplay and story are pretty average, but the world draws you in so you won't care at all.Buy it,be scared for a week, then trade it.

Feb 9, 2011In addition to my last review, people who're saying this game isn't scary: get over it. Both of these games are based on cheap thrills once you get past the initial shock value; this game is a 3PS at heart, with elements if survival horror mixed in. If you want survival horror and the only true scariness in a game play Amnesia. This game is balls to the wall combat.

Feb 9, 2011Deep mind game with great control and awesome gameplay. This game just doesn't let up on the scare and creepy factor...has you on edge. Multiplayer is also a blast! Control and gameplay very easy to get used too.

Jan 31, 2011@ deathsmiles: its clear your only aim in life is to bring down the average score on games.
This game builds on everything from the first game and the chapters are seemless unlike the first game. And Dead Space:Extraction comes free with Collectors Edition and Limited Edition.
The multiplayer seems a little forced though. -
Jan 31, 2011The only thing about this game that I wish could have been better now that I have beaten it, is the fact that most of the weapons are useless. Why offer so many weapons that serve no purpose. Plus you never get the chance to upgrade them all. The Contact Beam is nice, but it takes 10 seconds to charge it up. The Javelin Gun and the Ripper are by far the most useful.

Jan 30, 2011If the first was about horror and atmosphere, this one is more focused on action and set pieces which is not a bad thing at all considering how the bar was set by DS1. Plus, it comes with Extraction which makes it a really darn good deal.

Mar 22, 2012Perhaps the lack of anything new limits the impact of this sequel. The storyline isn't riveting, far from it in fact, but for players who reached the end in the original; you'll want to see what else is going on in the Dead Space universe.
-
May 24, 2011The transition between CGI and gameplay delivers a great horror atmosphere. Isaac Clarke's got personality and we are only missing some bigger bossfights.

Mar 24, 2011With this sequel, Visceral Games has masterfully expanded on the first Dead Space. They've revved up the series with tougher guns, a bigger setting, and online multiplayer, but kept the spirit and, most importantly, the scares of the original in tact.
