Perhaps the lack of anything new limits the impact of this sequel. The storyline isn't riveting, far from it in fact, but for players who reached the end in the original; you'll want to see what else is going on in the Dead Space universe.

There are a couple of interesting levels or sequences throughout the game, and the production values are obviously high, but Dead Space 2 is blatantly uninspired.

Dead Space 2 isn't bad, it simply isn't the evolution it should or could have been. By the time the closing credits roll, don't be surprised if the only dead space you're feeling is the one in the middle of your chest.

If for some inexplicable reason your kinesis won't work, it's a necromorph waiting to ambush you), etc. It's frustrating that the overall gameplay and sound design are so excellent, because everything else is complete crap. If anyone were to get the full experience from this game they would need to play at night with very little lighting (apart from the television) and no company. The asthetics aren't the best, but they suit the game very well. Like most video games it doesn't have a very deep or expansive story, however it is definitely enough to keep you playing. This game will keep you engaged, adrenaline-pumping and on the edge of your seat. If you were ever considering playing it, do yourself a favour and buy it. Full Review »
