Best COD in years. The only down point here is the co-op mode. The best thing from many games. Domination mode now is incredible, no more campers. You must run to save the day.

This game is awesome. To all the nerds who gave this game a low score: leave your parent's basement, get a job, burn all your World of Nerdcraft games, and quit bemoaning a game superior to the crap you play. Get a life. Get contacts, crush your glasses, and burn your stupid comic books.

I really enjoyed the movement system they came up with for this game. Online multiplayer was soooo fun! It seemed like most people didn't like the jetpacking around but I loved it, and it just felt really good to play.

Game is overall balanced, however scorestreaks are not that good, but again I like that since people tend to game for them like in MW2. Definitely a step in the right direction after such a disappointed year in COD last year with Ghosts.

OMG this game is so cool it is my favourite COD game. I really enjoy the exo suits and the badass futuristic weapons. I really think though that this should have been the last futuristic game unless they made a sequel

The controls feel like your normal Call of duty and the graphics are looking pretty next gen for this console. With all of this good, why does this game have a 4.9 average on its score? The campaign is a mix of unique and filler. It is pretty interesting but at the same time it just feels like an excuse to slap Call of Duty on the box. I would have liked to see a better campaign and not remove it (ahem Black Ops 4 you scum). As for multiplayer the maps are, just maps. Also then making your loadout Activision brought back my least favorite system, the item limit. But to be fair the limit makes sense because the suits can be really overpowered and we get 13 instead of 11. But none of that bogs down the experience for me. As for Exo Zombies I can't tell you my DLC code from the Gold Edition hasn't worked even though my copy was bought new. Overall, if you like Call of Duty, this is a game for you and I would highly recommend playing it. Expand

This game is exactly what you'd expect from a Call of Duty game: Generic set-pieces, lots of explosions, and predictable plot-twists. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Advanced Warfare has taken things a little further than previous games whilst retaining the familiar fast paced run-and-gun style. After promising the moon on a plate, the game certainly has a different feel but whether expectation lines up with reality is another matter. The Multiplayer and Exo-Survival modes are done effectively however the Campaign story is a little too familiar.

Sci-fi technology/equipment unseen in previous titles is introduced. What was the futuristic technology of novels and movies has now become an interactive world the gamer can delve into with super-soldiers in body enhancing exoskeletons, sonic mufflers, threat detection and hologram USB technology being just some of the features. At some points this technology seems to mimic that of games such as Resistance and Killzone.

The campaign’s story starts off in the mid 2050s, the player assuming the role of Private Jack Mitchell in his first frontline battle in Seoul, South Korea. US Marines have been deployed to fight the advancing North Koreans.

There are 15 missions available with a noticeable repetition from past COD games developing. For example, the exciting-but-boring-after-awhile boat chases seen in each title since Modern Warfare 2, along with the near-useless friendly AI units that get in the way more often than not. Most of the levels are planned out more like shooting galleries with targets appearing on a similar lines to a rail shooter. For this reason it is the most enjoyable part of this mode, even though the player may as well be a zombie, no initiative is needed- just have to follow the guy in front and be told what to do as no alternative stories exist like in Black Ops 2.

Annoying stereotypes are also present, with the typical American hero figure fighting terrorists, political corruption and power hungry madmen. However, don’t let this be all negative, exciting new toys are accessible in missions, one being a hovertank with 3 weapons that can be cycled through. From EMP to shoot down helicopters and gunships, to rockets which take out incoming enemy tanks and machine guns which deal with the infantry. What’s not to love about toys such as these? Another major positive is the superb quality of graphics. They’re so good sections of the cut scenes are possible to be mistaken for live action instead of computer graphics. The ending is disappointingly average, with a cliché “this is just the beginning” however the overall campaign gameplay is mostly okay- as there is lots to kill with some seriously awesome weapons.

Advanced Warfare’s multiplayer section has had a Michael Jackson sort of face-lift. Certainly it is the game’s silver-lining, after the disappointment of the campaign story mode. Style and structure of the Multiplayer maps have been another seriously improved area. The maps have been enhanced to take advantage of the new exoskeleton manoeuvres. However, the loud elephant in the room is not uncommon to other COD titles; lag…lag…”host migrating”…server disconnect…LAG. The majority of games are plagued with this before and during games.

Survival mode has returned from Modern Warfare 3, keeping with the ability to purchase weapons and perks to fight against increasingly difficult AI in a wave based game. Players choose from three Exo classes; Light, Heavy and Specialist. Each start with different weapons and Exo suits aimed at certain play styles i.e. from fast movement and low armour to slow movement and high armour. There are four objective based rounds with dramatic assignments including defusing bombs, defending locations against bots/dogs/alien-AI, collecting intel and dog tags. This mode seems to be an exhilarating training ground, building players’ abilities to prepare them for multiplayer.

Overall the game developers have done an extraordinary job keeping up with previous titles while still adding something different. No game thus far can compete with the graphics, that’s a ‘no brainer’. The quality of the story however brings the game down a little as it really needs some work and move away from the whole American hero saving the world thing that appears in each game. Multiplayer as usual far exceeds the rest of the game and is pretty much on par with the graphics for top quality which will definitely be the major selling points. As for the Co-Op Survival, this has some additional fun but will quickly fade once any zombie maps get released unless worked on.

Especially in terms of graphics, because this game has taken advantage of all the limits (in terms of performance) that the Playstation 3 console offers. I liked the handy solution, where when loading from location to location, the loading window popped up for a few seconds before the graphics loaded.

But the overall setting for the future does not suit me at all for the Call of Duty series. In my opinion, the developers could have released this game into the world as a separate title.

However, the gameplay itself is interesting, though perhaps unnecessarily relieved by various grenades, drones, guidance systems, sights, and so on. However, the experienced gameplay spoils the exo-suites the most, I really couldn't get used to them.

The story was made interesting and dragged into the story, but it could have been at least an hour or two longer. So especially the end of the story is very hurried.

I also give plus points for a well-crafted soundtrack and weapon sound effects.

In the last paragraph, I want to pick up famous actors who played in this game.

In the end, I give this game a rating of 8/10, the game exceeded my not very high expectations.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is a big improvement for the Call of Duty franchise, and may lead the franchise into a good future, but there are many flaws just like any other game.

Single-Player: The single player is the typical 6 hour; go here, shoot this and that. This is very disappointing, and you would expect the game to be longer since this game had a 3 year development cycle.

Nothing new to the Single-Player except for the Exo-Suit. To sum it up; boring dull, repetitive. Nothing special.

Multiplayer: As it may be the same multiplayer as before ie; game-modes, the multiplayer plays completely different with the new Exo-Suit. Double jump, strafe left to right, will bring a whole new level of enjoyment to the game.

I recommend the game; you won't get anything too special here, but as I stated in the beginning of this review; it is a big improvement for the Call of Duty franchise. If you are going to buy it, just expect the same Call of Duty, but with massive improvements; especially for multiplayer.

The multiplayer is the games strongest part with all new style of play with the EXO suit where you can fly around the map and dodge gunfire, the EXO can also a perk slot where you can have heal you, make you move faster or have a shield equipped. The only bad thing about multiplayer and I'm being very strict about this but the visuals on the menu is terrible.

Then there's the games third function EXO Survival which I don't really like that much because it just feels like a knockoff of MW3 Survival mode and the only originality is you have the EXO suit.

So besides the games few issues and the EXO Survival, the game is a must buy for long time COD fans and new COD fans.

Surprisingly, it's slightly better than all the other Call of Duty games. I like its futuristic setting (although it's sadly not the same future we see in Star Trek or The Jetsons). Also, you can fly, which really helps in tough situations. Although, it still has that signature CoD mindlessness.

Better than CoD: Ghosts, but that's not hard. Good campaign, but terrible netcode for multiplayer. Lots of lag and delay, even on the menus.
Dips in graphical quality in the multiplayer menus and just waiting for weapon images to load is infuriating.

Exo suits are really good fun though, and add a much needed injection of adrenaline in to the gameplay in general.
