    Shay is awesome, the game is awesome and harder and more challenging to play. Also it does not require that you are really into the Assassins Creed games, you can try this one out with very little time invested into learning the story and if you like this game you can go back to playing the others. It has the advantage of telling a story from the templar's perspective. The femaleShay is awesome, the game is awesome and harder and more challenging to play.     Assassin's Creed Rogue is perhaps the best Assassin's Creed game from the Kenway Saga (AC3, 4, Liberation, "Freedom Cry") in my opinion.
    Here's why:
    * It has a brilliant storyline which acts as a bridge between Edward's time-line and Connor's time-line. * The story-line and characters featured in the game are interesting and enjoyable. * The game has a number of side activities similar    Assassin's Creed Rogue is perhaps the best Assassin's Creed game from the Kenway Saga (AC3, 4, Liberation, "Freedom Cry") in my opinion.
    Here's why:
    * It has a brilliant storyline which acts as a bridge between Edward's time-line and Connor's time-line.
    * The story-line and characters featured in the game are interesting and enjoyable.
    * The game has a number of side activities similar to Black Flag, yet these have been extended (and in some cases altered to fit in with the story-line).
    * New game mechanics and weapons.
    * Brilliant locations (New York City - which has been greatly improved since AC3 -, the North Atlantic (Newfoundland, Novia Scotia and the west coast of New Brunswick and Quebec) and the River Valley which includes the city of Albany).
    * 'Real world' story-line feels greatly improved.
    * The best features of AC3 and 4 seem to have been combined in that you are able to hunt and explore vast on land to a greater degree and there are more features in cities and towns yet the naval exploration feature of the game has been retained.

    Despite this, the game does, in my view, have a few slight issues - these being:
    * The story-line is very short (8 sequences) - it does not feel complete some key areas in the game are rarely (if at all) visited - such as half of New York City and most of the River Valley/North Atlantic). No crafting features, ship upgrades etc. are even needed to complete it - it lacks difficulty.
    * The game does not have any multi-playability which, to me, is important.

    Overall the game is a brilliant addition to the Assassin's Creed series and is a worth-while purchase for anyone interested in open world games and fans of the series alike. I would say that Ubisoft appear to have overlooked the game to a certain extent, which is sad considering it has so much potential and a well-written story.    … Expand

    This game was really fun. Lots of the good parts of Black Flag and earlier Assassin's Creeds put together, they also did a good job of taking out some of the tedious portions of the previous game.

    The only thing was I found this game to be incredibly short, not necessary worth a whole new game.

    I found this game to be much more entertaining than the new AC Unity I played last Spring. And, more believable in the sense that you play as a former Assassin that really doesn't believe anymore in all the killing and destruction that they do in order for "freedom".     The game play is smooth, and I want to belief that the combat is actually smoother this time around, where the other last two games; Unity and Black Flag. I felt very frustrated with the combat of those two other games most of the time. Maybe Shay, the hero of Rogue, is just the better overall fighter. The minigames of sending your "fleet" out in the campaigns of the British French War of t he 1750s is weak. After I finished the game I had no desire to get 100% on anything. And I don't know why, but I just have no desire to look for buried treasure.

    The main goal of getting Shay strong enough, and his ship, the Morrigan, sea-worthy enough to withstand battle, took a lot longer than I thought because you have so many place to visit to find the blue prints, resources, or animal parts, for these upgrades. I haven't had much time for video games anymore, so the game took me about two and a half months to finish the main story. Still, I did enjoy the game very much.    … Expand

    When you first open the menu of ACRoguge, you're played the theme of this game, which turns out the be a song derived from the theme of ACII, so right off the bat one can imagine the homage to other great games in the series this really is.

    Firstly, the environment takes alot from ACIII by adding the same type of forest/city hybrid, forcing the player to move around in the trees at some instances to achieve their goal. The new thing this time around is the mix of the open world through which you travel by ship, introduced in ACIV, and the amazing colonial North American villages. So you explore with your ship, and could stumble upon a town, with many buildings to scale and collectibles to collect. The only negative side to this is that I found that aside from the collectibles, these locations were pointless as they were rich in physical stuff, but lacked missions and stuff to do in them. Those who have criticized ACIV for its lack of tall buildings and forests will be pleased because here there are many complex and tall environments which can be scaled, not to mention the huge city of New York which has many things to do.

    Secondly, the story is one of the best so far because in this one, the hero asks himself the question every one of us has ever asked himself when finally assassinating that templar : "are they really the bad guys? Why would they be, as they look for peace and equilibrium?" This puts a new perspective on the assassins vs templar meta-story which has been going on since the first AC.

    Thirdly, the only negative thing worth noticing with this game is the ship gameplay. In ACIII, they were mostly side missions which needed us to take control of a ship, so it was at most ignorable. In ACIV, you were a pirate, so we basically needed these main boat missions to feel like a pirate. But in this one, you constantly have to pay in-game money and resources to upgrade your goddamned ship so that you can be able to complete main missions and progress in the story. This has really bugged me and is the only reason I'm giving this game an 8 instead of a 10.

    So yeah, if you're looking for the greatest of the American AC's saga, this is definitely worth getting.    … Expand

    It's amazing that all these years I was under the impression that this game was just a Ubisoft 'money-grab' made to get some money from last-gen console owners while working on their 'big-time' next-gen game that became Unity. I picked this game up for $5, wanting to check out the game that said you could finally play as a Templar. Boy am I ever glad I did. This game is brilliant. AsIt's amazing that all these years I was under the impression that this game was just a Ubisoft 'money-grab' made to get some money from last-gen console owners while working on their 'big-time' next-gen game that became Unity. I picked this game up for $5, wanting to check out the game that said you could finally play as a Templar. Boy am I ever glad I did. This game is brilliant. As another review said, without the huge pressures of having to be Ubisoft's money ticket for the year, this game was allowed to flourish all around, from a brilliantly crafted story to improving some game features to picking out the past features from all the previous AC games that came before.

    The main character, Shay, is a well-rounded character that I could not get enough of. He was conflicted and had character flaws that allowed him to grow into the man he becomes that can be depended upon by Grand Master Kenway. I had read in some other review before picking this game up that Shay's motivations for changing sides were shallow or didn't make too much sense but I disagree, we started as an assassin getting to know some of Shay's allies and how they treated him, and were sent on missions that made him start to question his allegiance and what the assassins were really working at, into the mission that pushed him past the breaking point and pushed him right into templar arms that weren't as evil as the assassins always led us to believe. In fact, we finally got to see the other side as people too, people who were also trying to make the world a better place. It was so refreshing. I only wish the story could have been longer, there were only six memory sequences but what we did get was very compelling and fulfilling and the ending was brilliantly satisfying.

    Rogue picked the best stuff from each game and improved upon it. The ship combat from Black Flag, the item collecting (Rogue's war letters, cave paintings, templar maps, etc) from Black Flag and III, open combat from Black Flag and sneaking combat from III, and the rooftop usage from the Ezio trilogy. The Assassin interceptions were my favorite side mission, instead of getting letters from pigeons that tell you targets that you need to assassinate; templars or their allies, instead you're reading said letter but trying to protect the target and having to assassinate the assassins before they can kill their target. I shot a man out of mid-air, poised to assassinate the target! It's brilliantly done and I wish there had been more than 12!

    I played Unity after this and whoa you could tell the difference. Rogue far surpassed Unity in just about every way. Rogue's Versailles mission looked so much better and was better crafted than it was in Unity. Charles Dorian and Ben Franklin (honestly couldn't even tell Ben was Ben rather than some random NPC thrown into the scene) both looked a thousand times better animated in Rogue than Unity.

    Play Assassin's Creed Rogue. You won't regret it.

    What do you get when mixing the best elements from Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag and Assassin's Creed 3 (except the multiplayer), and add an interesting story and character? You get Assassin's Creed Rogue. This game is a must-get! Tons of stuff to do in the game, too!

    To it's advantage, Rogue utilises Black Flag's gameplay with some nifty modifications and AC3's locations and context.     Shay Patrick Cormac might not be as dashing as Edward Kenway, but still manages to sway us with his Irish charm. His exile from the Creed is a baffling and confronting affair which makes his admission into the Templar Order somehow justifiable.

    Playing from the Templar's perspective interestingly casts a shadow of doubt on the 'purity' of the Assassin's cause. It is this narrative aspect that solidifies the concept of there being no good or evil, but two opposing beliefs in constant conflict.

    Narrative concerns aside, the length of the storyline is a fairly controversial matter considering there are only 7 sequences. It's this fact that prevents the game from getting a 10 out of 10.    … Expand

    Wow, this is much better than Unity !! The game has a theme, it is fun, runs smooth, no glitch, interesting characters, nice environment ! Yes, it looks like blackflags, but if you liked it I strongly recommend you to get it!!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Some people have called this to be a giant rip off of AC4... I dont think so! It was great for Ubi-soft to release a game for the old platform. Though it might be very similar to AC4, they are definitely not the same.

    The game takes place in The colonial America, before the events of AC3. You play as an Assassin hunter called Shay Patrick Cormac. He was once an assassin, but turned Rogue, after seing that the assassin brotherhood have lost their way.
    The story was imo the second best after AC2. The character development was great, and the story was well writen and well paced. Many side quests to do. And the ability to play from a Templar point of view was very interesting.

    The combat has stayed almost exacly the same as AC4, which caused many fans to call this game a cashgrab. The naval combat has some new bits and bobs added, like the ability to get boarded by another ship, the puckle gun and burning oil make for some stunning naval warfare.

    The graphics have improves yet again. Better looking than AC4 imo. The newly developed New York was a great edition, considering that the one in AC3 was a major let-down.

    Great last instalment of the series for the old qen system. Great landscapes, cities, characters, story. Some repeatative misions and combat sequences.    … Expand

    The gameplay is virtually the same as AC4 and many flaws remain. However, Rogue shines in moving the story forward more than AC4 did and makes many connections from previous AC characters. If you are not tired of the traditional AC combat and feel invested in the story, this is a great title for you.

    For Rogue? It's great combine of templar, assassin and pirate games. What is bad things of ACIV:BF? Scenario, few characters, and the main missions. Rogue is fixing 2 of them.     For Rogue? It's great combine of templar, assassin and pirate games.

    What is bad things of ACIV:BF? Scenario, few characters, and the main missions. Rogue is fixing 2 of them. Scenario and main missions. Rogue is copy of ACIV:BF with everything. Combat system, parkour system, character development options, main menu.

    But main missions are great. We are going to Lisbon, Paris, New York, North Atlantic. And they are not copy of other ones. Scenario is great, after Haytham Kenway, Ubisoft successfully drew a thin line between Assassins and Templars with Shay Patrick Cormac. Edward is an unsuccessful character, but Shay is great.

    Also this game connecting III, IV:BF and Unity each other.

    If Ubisoft change some more things from ACIV:BF for Rogue, my point will be 9/10 just like my point of ACII.    … Expand

    AC Rogue is a thrilling game, made after AC IV:Black Flag. The story is short, and after that, the only thing left to do is just going around the map and picking items. The ship battles are great. Even though the story not being as long as the previous title ( AC IV), the story is still thrilling and more challenging. The great amount of new weapons and tricks, makes you think how toAC Rogue is a thrilling game, made after AC IV:Black Flag.     The story in particular is one of the best if not the best in the entire series. Shay is an interesting charismatic protagonist who's mix's the arrogance and wisdom of Altair and the social conscience and questioning of Conner. The gameplay is good but familiar due to only minor changes being made since AC4 in terms of gameplay    Assassin's Creed Rogue is a great Assassin's creed game.

    The story in particular is one of the best if not the best in the entire series. Shay is an interesting charismatic protagonist who's mix's the arrogance and wisdom of Altair and the social conscience and questioning of Conner.

    The gameplay is good but familiar due to only minor changes being made since AC4 in terms of gameplay (The same sort of familiarity ACB had to AC2).

    The graphics are pushed to the absolute max on last gen consoles and the game looks great for the old hardware.

    They new settings in the river valley and north Atlantic are a beautiful and welcome edition to the series while New York is far better presented and more fun to explore than it was in AC3.

    The modern day story was less interesting but decent it operates similar to the AC4 modern story except this time you play a repair man and you come into contact with a high profile member of the Inner Sanctum of the Templar Order.

    Overall I highly recommended this game to any fan of the series    … Expand

    Since I'm an AC fanboy, you can deduct 1-2 points from my score if you're not a fan of the franchise. Also, I'm not even half-way into the game with all the collectible junk in every village out there...

    The game is basically somewhere between AC3 and Black flag - both in gameplay and time period where the action is located. Expect naval battles - fort sieges, convoy runs, pirate    Since I'm an AC fanboy, you can deduct 1-2 points from my score if you're not a fan of the franchise.     The game is basically somewhere between AC3 and Black flag - both in gameplay and time period where the action is located. Expect naval battles - fort sieges, convoy runs, pirate hunters, faction battles between npcs - and diverse settings on the land (from the arctic circle to New York - LIsboa "run for your effin life" doesn't count). All that was right gameplay wise is still there - just a bit polished with a slightly different difficulty level (your starting ship and weapons are a laugh and it's easy to die unless you mash the counter button and avoid bigger ships, but as you progress it gets easier).

    As for the plot, this is the second best thing after Ezzio - Shay is a great character, deep with emotions but purpose driven. His story is actually interesting, whereas Connor was a failure in my opinion and Kenway was fun yet bland.

    My opinion? AC fans should dig out their consoles and play this, others as well although this is more or less like the last 2 parts with small changes here and there. A solid game I recommend to try.    … Expand

    the game look very good but many people think that the game is the same as the assassin's creed iv black flag but no, he just picks up elements of its predecessor has a good story and is a great game for the old gen .

    Ok just finished the game. Not sure what the critics are saying but, here is what you need to know. Rogue is exactly what it needs to be. It wraps up the story of the entire Kenway family. Shay is a bad ass!!! Hopefully Ubisoft creates 3 divisions now. Assassins,Templars and pirates.

    Sure a ship is how you travel and gain materials, but I felt like I was in assasins creed 3 again as I was climbing trees and hunting, I felt like I was in the ezio trilogy again as I was running around upgrading buildings and capturing territories to build up my income, and I felt like I was in the original assassins creed again with the protagonists feelings towards the creed.
    Where rogue gets things wrong and causes the game to be less enjoyable is that for the first time in Assassins Creed history, it didn’t feel like the time period was the star of the show.
    This is a tale for the fans and nothing more.
    They are filling in story gaps and giving perspective rather than taking you on a trip back in time.
    The north atlantic and Americas were lifeless and dull almost like perta price in freedom cry, which ultimately made this game feel like a massive dlc rather than a worthy standalone.
    The world in rogue makes the frontier and new York in ac3 look like Constantinople in revelations.
    It’s dead, like being at a playground with no one to play with.
    Assassin’s Creed Rogue tells the story of Shay Cormac an Assassin Turned Templar.
    As a massive Assassin’s Creed fan, this concept alone had me massively excited for this game.
    Without spoiling anything, Ill just say that the delivery for the reasoning behind this flip was poorly executed.
    The entire set up for the story is a fail.
    The game begins with you as an Assassin in training which makes absolutely no sense.
    By starting out as a rookie, it lessens the blow of turning away from the creed.
    It just feels like no big deal, the creed lost a nobody because you feel like a nobody and your creedmates make you feel like a nobody.
    We should’ve started out as an established and respected member of the creed, somebody that the creed would dread if you were to ever turn on them. The character development is not personal enough for the switch to feel justified.
    Youre never given a sense of Shays moral standings for you to feel in your gut what is going to happen.
    Instead you are smacked with a childish ‘hey, I didn’t like that, Im leaving..’ making shay seem more close minded than heroic.
    The story mode also feels massively short, I’d honestly estimate no longer than 6 hours if you don’t count travel time, and I say story instead of the game because the emphasis on collecting and upgrading that AC IV introduced has really started to separate the story from the world which is a shame. They no longer blend like the original Assassins Creed through Assassins Creed 3 did.
    Chests and looting no longer feel like a way to get money when in need of an upgrade, but rather just map cleaning.
    They are filler, they give you the hours to justify money spent, when the story and gameplay should be doing this job.
    Game play is what you would expect from an assassins creed game, surprisingly enough, Rogue has its own feel to it.
    You can stalk targets , but now you have a grenade launcher to do a bit more damage and effect a larger range of enemies at once, and you will need them as enemy detection seems to be much more strict in rogue leaving no room for error, if you step out of hiding for more than a split second, you will be spotted.
    Im not sure if this was on purpose to make the game harder or if detection is just broken.
    Combat is the same as AC IVs with the basic wait for an attack to counter and break defense.
    You are given one sword type, so don’t expect the customization in load out that AC 3 had.
    Pistols are back as well as an air rifle that acts like a blow pipe.
    But while you are hunting enemies, enemies are hunting you too.
    You have stalkers around all courners, hiding in bushes and roof tops waiting for their opportunity to strike.
    When one is near you will hear the multiplayer whispers which then allows you to go into eagle vision and sniff them out before they sniff you out, if they find you first though its no big deal, you have plenty of time to react especially since they mock you as they attempt to kill you.
    Collectibles are back and in abundance and will take most of your time if you are a completionist.
    It personnaly took me about 42 hours to see and do everything the game had to offer.
    There aren’t any side missions, but there are side activities like hunting challenges and assassination interceptions.
    The interceptions were kind of lame though and felt like a waste of time.
    you basically find the target and then find the assassins in the bushes just sitting their waiting to be killed before time is up.
    This would’ve been a great idea for a city based game, but it just feels like hide and seek here.
    There are some great mysteries to uncover though, there are cave paintings to find, keys to unlock armour and my favorite thing about AC IV – treasure maps.
    You can also usefully hunt animals to craft items for upgrades again. Sadly the hunting like in ac iv feels spawned rather than living like in ac3.
    Ship battles are here, but feel a bit clunky and awkward compared to those in assassins creed 4.
    and you can of course pilage them along with outposts and camps for materials to upgrade your ship and buildings around the map.
    Missions are finally back to the way they used to be.
    Fun and veried.
    No more constant tailing and eaves dropping., instead youll be infultarting parties. Sabotaging, and hunting down your targets.
    There is no repetiveness inside of the story at all.
    Infact, no 2 missions felt the same in the entirety of my time through the campaign.
    I would also like to note that I ran into multiple glitches such as getting stuck in buildings, my targets getting stuck in buildings, audio dropping out, and going through the map and seeing neon pink walls, all which will hopefully be patched out quickly.
    If you’re a fan of the series, Assassin’s Creed Rogue is well worth your time and the story, especially it’s closing is in my opinion a perfect ending of the past gen Assassins Creed chapter and an introduction into current gen assassins creed. But if you play the series only for the historical tour, then this game offers very little and is massively skipable. But either way, I would recommend holding out for future patches, as this game does have quite a few annoying bugs/ For what it is 7.5/10 Overall 8/10    … Expand

    The new mechanics of the air rifle, the ram on the ship and other tweaks to the ship make it a much more of a robust and deadly experience. the new enemy type in stalkers, who will remind you of the MP from AC2, make you more cautious around familiar hiding spots as they use your tactics against you.

    Many people will have complained of the activities outside the Animus, namely the female NPC who acts as your boss through the events outside the animus. I find her amusing more than annoying, but her dialogue can sometimes grate when you're checking something out. There are tons of goodies, including if you're snooping around enough, plans to get kill off a major character, references to every other AC game either directly or indirectly and backstory on the man behind the boss lady character.    … Expand

    This game is really a story continuation. At first I was in doubt of buying it in pre order But I'm really satisfied with the product. It recalls me AC3 it really tells the story of Aklies. I've not finished it yet but so far so good. I Love AC :*

I was in gun shop in second hour of my walktrough and i finished game with gear i had since this. Ship upgrades force you to raid French ships and loot camps which is fine.
    After long time this was first game, where i tried to do 100% completion. I´ve collected almost everything what was possible in this game.

    Another fantastic thing in this game is soundtrack... themes and shanties... ever sound was please for my ears.

    I was kinda dissapointed with Assassin assaults. They are just waiting in the bush everytime or haystack. Its too simple. They could at least do some coordinate attacks or something. It wasnt challenging to beat them.
    When i finished game, i completed only 17 missions in naval campaign. Its shame that it took so long, but i want to move to another game so im not going to wait there only to complete it.

    So in the end. Its a best AC game i have played by far (only gameplay, not story - it cant compete with Ezio trilogy) and it was refreshing to play for the opposite side.

    I enjoyed this game almost as much as Black Flag & noticed a difference in the way the waters of the Northern Atlantic and Hudson River Valley sailed compared to the Southern waters of Black Flag.
    The story is mostly interesting and does a good job of filling in the gaps in the time-line between the events of Black Flag and AC3.
    I encountered no bugs during my playtime & I went pretty much everywhere and did pretty much everything the game had to offer.

    Anyway, This is indeed going to be the final game within the AC lore on the PS3 port, and most people will ask if it's worth it? And I'll say, kinda, but what you'll get out of this game you'll probably make a lot of callbacks to Black Flag, which you know is a game that I humbly enjoy primarily with the ship combat, which is also apparent in Rogue. So consider this 'Black Flag 2', but what with all the extra stuff that this game adds to keep the game refreshing should be noted, so noted that I couldn't give it a lower score from Black Flag. Some variations of ship combat that have changed is that the Chain Shot has been replaced with the Fire Cannon, which is invariably more powerful than the Chain Shot. Normal Cannons for the boarding battles have been replaced with Puckle Guns, not only firing faster and having more ammo, but usually help to brake the eventual monotomy of boarding enemy ships. One big improvement of the ship combat is the increased usefulness of the ram and the dynamic of the fleet, which is now an offline or online resource rather than forced-online in Black Flag, but in terms of the ram, the charge ability is now much easier to gain apart from defeating a Legendary ship, and you can also use it to brake ice caps around sea level, which is also another thing about Ship combat. More dynamics of mother nature have been added, icebergs and freezing water can either be used to your benefit or your detriment, to sink enemy ships or crash your own. Wind currents are drastically increased, and apart from the lack of huge waves within the carribean, the North Atlantic is just as if not more dangerous than the Gulf Coast and Carribean of Piracy. Now, because this game is set in 1753 after the golden age of piracy, you yourself are not a rogue pirate and thus will cause a lot of momentum during the 7 years war against British and French, and as the title of the game suggests, you switch sides. But honestly at this point, the Templar Vs Assassin's story has gone on so long that I think they are both repugnant authoritarians with different means but the same ends of controlling humanity anyway. As for the protagonist, While they try their best to flesh out Shay Cormac, he does become less individualized throughout the segment, as I joked that he was "Ex-Assassin Templar British Irish Scottish French Viking Pirate Cowboy Cormac", considering the many callbacks to Black Flag as well as the variety of customization items, which is duly noted. Also Shay's face model reminds me of the generic face models of quite a few of the British Officers from Black Flag, weirdly enough when he starts to show 'age'. As with Black Flag you immediately follow up the silent, insignificant protagonist working at Abstergo, albeit somewhat under distress and now being praddled around like a retard by a unlikable Violet (more like Violent) who can't stop calling you "Numskull", the hacking system simplified to a orb like thing with rings which are usually more tedious than difficult. As with Black Flag, these are the weaker parts of the game, as you just want to jump back into the simulation as most would. As for Plot, while it is nice to see some perspective that the Assassin's aren't always right in their good intentions, i can't help but wonder if this is confirmation bias for the Templars to 'influence' the silent protagonist on THEIR side, when they can easily manipulate the DNA they've extracted from Desmond Miles. But as for anything within the context of the game, it's more of the 'we need to find some superficial artifact thingy that does something because reasons' just like with Black Flag and just like with every AC game thus far, which makes me wonder how the Unity story will breach this in someway, unless they'll STILL use the stupid silent protagonist bullocks anyway? finally, unto just miscellaneous items. Most of the sea shanties from Black Flag has returned, including a bunch of new ones, a 'grenade launcher' made by Benjamin Franklin which is really fun to use, and Firecracker Darts that can add a new element to the stealth segments of the game, which are still too exploitative. And the general combat is still exploitative as well, as long as you have stealth bombs you will ALWAYS be able to win any kind of fight EVEN if you are surrounded, and the combat isn't any more refreshing as mash square until you need to press circle or occasionally x.

    So to conclude, while this game does realize that it doesn't need to reinvent the wheel, this game does feel like a sequel to black flag in almost every regard. But that's not a problem for me.    … Expand

I was disappointed with the length of the story, although the 3 maps combined seem bigger than black flag, there's still a lot of collectables and side missions, but its the story that's filled with the high quality gameplay and storytelling that makes you want more.
    The new silenced rifle was a big treat, many different ammunition types that can be used for stealthy or aggressive missions. You also get a Sword and Dagger which are used together with the same move set as Edwards dual wield swords, which looks and feels good, but its a shame they didn't give Shay his own move set and animations.
    Most stuff is still here from black flag, but with different settings for each of the 3 areas that makes changing locations refreshing and less of an eye sore when travelling long distances on land or sea. Naval missions are also back with increased difficulty and a large set of upgrades including a fair amount of new, and old weaponry and defences.
    Overall its a game worth playing, but the story is cut short and Shay sometimes feels like Edwards clone when it comes to running, jumping, fighting and other repetitive animations.
    Storyline: 8/10 (The most gripping but lacks length)
    Graphics: 8/10 (On par with Black Flag so nothing too special, but new locations look nice)
    Gameplay 7.5/10 (brilliant new weaponry and naval upgrades but copied character animations doesn't make it feel new)    … Expand

    The story is amazing, you play this guy name "Shay", and he is just awesome. He follows his heart and thinks about the people and whats best for them. The Graphics are good and the voice acting is also very good. The mission is enjoyable and challenging.

    i'll admit that i wasn't a huge fan of Assassins Creed IV: BLack Flag but from the moment i heard this game was announced i was all over it, checking for updates at least twice a week until eventually i was sitting down playing the game for myself. This is my favourite Assassins Creed title of all time as i love the setting, the characters, i love everything about this game and i think iti'll admit that i wasn't a huge fan of Assassins Creed IV: BLack Flag but from the moment i heard this game was announced i was all over it, checking for updates at least twice a week until eventually i was sitting down playing the game for myself. This is my favourite Assassins Creed title of all time as i love the setting, the characters, i love everything about this game and i think it deserves a 10 for the effort put in to create it and how amazing the outcome of the game was! The landscapes are captivating and the graphics have been slightly improved in comparison to Black Flag. The gameplay hasn't had any meaningful improvements. The combos are still easy to carry out.     Best AC game for me. Yes, it looks a lot like AC4. But he's a great character like Shay Cormac. It's a beautiful story written contrary to the usual. Epic scenes. Great character development. In AC4, he removed everything that was bad and added good features. Of course AC4 is an excellent game but I prefer Rogue.

    The final Assassin's Creed game, which didn't rely on arbitrary leveling requirements and gear levels. All that affected gameplay was genuine, unadulterated skill and the tools at your disposal. You were the final game, which stood against what mars and besmirches the Assassin's Creed franchise today, Godspeed.

    The biggest disappointment for me was that although you play as a Templar, it has almost no influence on gameplay. The historical backdrop is not exciting at all and it’s pretty obvious that the whole game was designed so that the assets from Assassin’s Creed III and IV could be reused. The whole naval module borrowed from Black Flag is still fantastic, but after having played 7 games of the series I need something better than just more of the same. [01/2015, p.46]
