WALL.E on the PS2 is definitely the most accomplished version available. The emphasis on platforming and puzzles suits the character and makes for a more thoughtful game.
-
WALL•E makes a very positive impact on the PS2, especially given that the systems hardware is well beyond its prime.
-
Not only is there a lot to do within this action title, it's engaging and varied with its action, making play a lot of fun.
-
Like the movie it's based on, Wall-E is accessible enough for kids to enjoy but offers enough depth for an older audience.
-
It’s a solid adaptation that should entertain the younger crowd who fell in love with the film.
-
WALL-E for the PS2 is not a great adaptation of the movie. There are some wonky control issues, the graphics aren't very good on the aging console, and the gameplay is very repetitive.
-
I personally preferred the standard controls found on the PS2, PS3, and 360 to the Wii controls, which felt a bit too imprecise to work effectively.
-
Game InformerIt’s been awhile since I played a game that butchered so many of the basics of gameplay and design. [Sept 2008, p.103]
