best RE there ever was. fantastic story, settings and characters (except steve burnside). kids these days just cry because of limited ammo and saves while wanting super easy games.

The original survival horror game's first foray into the next generation, the visuals are obviously much improved with some nicely cinematic cut scenes. The format is looking a little dated by PS2 standards however and some of the acting and dialogue a little corny and over-ripe, but it's still a solid entry in the series that will please fans of the first three games.

Top 3 favorite game of all time. This game will always to me be considered a masterpiece and i remember beating this game over and over. The story was so good and the characters Claire and Chris are my favorite characters of all time. The puzzles, the gameplay, the suspense and the monsters are a ten out of ten. I really hope this game gets the RE2 remake treatment someday i can only dream. 10/10

Ele é o meu resident evil do estilo clássico preferido, é um alívio os cenários não serem pré-renderizados o que diminuiu a sensação de falsidade que tinha na trilogia de ps1, de um personagem 3d em um cenário de um CG congelado.

An excellent and difficult game, kind of hard in the beginning to adapt to the controls and camera, but allows the desperation to be more pure. Just hate the plane Tyrant boss, but still very enjoyable game,

So I'm gonna be real, I never beat this game. I think I only did the first half (as there are two halves to this game). But that experience was so memorable that I'm positive of my rating.

Graphics, sound, and controls are ok. Voice acting borders on B movie (just like any RE game, especially the first). However, the environments, gameplay flow, difficulty and different scenarios

However, the environments, gameplay flow, difficulty and different scenarios overall are so very memorable. The graveyard, the giant worm, the bats in the tower on the hill, the moving body bag, the trapped researcher... Every room is worth remembering. A prison island is truly a terrifying place for a zombie outbreak. There's a little bit of backtracking, but that's always been part of these games, avoiding zombies you couldn't previously handle. You can very easily run out of ammo, especially at the beginning, and you do need to save it for later boss fights; I think this works great in the survival horror setting, and adds a sort of pressure to make sure you handle things properly which I personally find very engaging, as you shouldn't be reckless in these kinds of games.

If you like classic Resident Evil, this game easily fits in as a sequel to the originals. I really wish they'd remake this one!

Resident Evil - Code: Veronica is undoubtedly the best among the old, classic style RE games.

Very complete game: with many different locations to explore, e.g. the very atmospheric castle, Antarctica etc., it leaves you with a sense of satisfaction after beating it.

Interesting storyline, plenty of puzzles and inspired, intimidating villains like the Tyrant or the Nosferatu.

When "Code Veronica" was released on the Dreamcast, several critics felt it was the series' best. The game had evolved the formula more than RE 3 did. This PS2 port includes slightly enhanced graphics and some new cutscenes. While the game hasn't aged very well, it's still good. Using 2001 standards, I would rate this version with a 9 out of 10 .

Personally, my favourite classic RE game. Admittedly, it starts off pretty slow, but give it enough time you'll be hooked till the end credits, which will leave you breathless. Fingers crossed that Capcom does a remake/reimagining after RE8 and RE4 remake.

Possibly the best of the older style RE games. This one has a crazy plot, a crazy good plot. A psychotic blonde haired man named Alexander Ashford pretending to be his sister whilst she is contained in a test tube being incubated by the T-Veronica virus. Literally a horror plot that is worthy of attention.
Plus the cheesy yet touching thing between Claire & Steve. It did things no other

For 2001, let me tell you, nothing looked as good as this game, the Playstation 2 was rife with poor graphical game on launch due to the complexity of the hardware for developers, but they someone how made the original Dreamcast release run and look great on the PS2 whilst even adding a bit more content.

Sound track is excellent. The game requires you to use your brain for some puzzles and of course fosters a true survival of the fittest mentality because if you mess up prior to the second part of the game, you are in for a rough ride that could inconveniently have you starting all over again.

This game and Resident Evil 2 are the best. This game continues Claires journey to help save her brother Chris. The character Steve is a great addition and this game has Wesker at his peak. The enemies are a very impressive myriad. The way enemies have clashing goals is also very impressive.

One of the last Resident Evil with the classic gameplay and following the main storyline. Like the previous games of this franchise, it is quite hard to beat due to the limited number of save points and ammo. For this reason I had to repeat many times a few parts of the game due to being killed by a boss or having to control more wisely the ammo I spend. Overall it is a very good game.

Hello from 2017. Just finished this game on my PS4.
I loved it. This is a classic Resident Evil. This game I think less scary than first trilogy tho. A story is fine. I was really curious about what happened with Chris before RE5 and sure my favorite Wesker in this game. Gameplay is classic RE but I felt it was the hardest game in series, SAVE BULLETS because If you don't have enough

Gameplay is classic RE but I felt it was the hardest game in series, SAVE BULLETS because If you don't have enough bullets for bosses it is almost impossible to beat the game( you can consider it as advantage and disadvantage from another stand point) Only fun thing that found is a character that named Steve. He is so adorable and silly. And he is voiced by a child, looks like.
Overall, worth get it if you are a fan of classic Residents. If not, you will have some troubles to beat this game.

Three months later Claire Redfield was caught by soldiers for infiltrated in a Umbrella base in Paris searching for her brother Chris Redfield, she was taken to a military base island where she was kept as prisoner....later she regain conciousness and heard a huge earthquake....the lights are gone, strange noises are heard outside...what is going on here? There she knows that her nightmares are back to hunt her...Something much bigger is happening here...

Resident Evil Code Veronica X is a sequel of Resident Evil 2 which is played almost the same way as its predecesors, not much has changed here except now you can equip a lighter in dark places, you can use many weapons in here, the dual weapons can be use to aim two enemies at the same time which is also cool but they took away the dodge move which could be of use to this game....Enemies are the same, zombies, dogs, giant worm, bandersnatch, bats, alphinoid, the deadly Tyrant Etc.

The graphics are good, keep in mind that the graphica are the same as the dreamcast,i'm reviewing the ps2 version...i can say its good but not the best,i mean the scenarios are now in 3D,unlike the first three games which use pre rendered graphics, they look more real, the camara also follows you,the character models are so so but the cutscenes they look better, especially the Redfield siblings and the main antogonist the Ashford siblings. Graphics are good, but there were games with better graphics in 2001like Dead Or Alive 2, Tekken Tag Tournament and the classic Final Fantasy X.

Voice acting in here are believable,Claires voice actress is the same from RE2 which has improved alot,Steve sounds like a dumb 12 year old,the worst voice acting ever in a videogame,Chris sounds better than RE1 which he sounds more tougher more disciplined, but i guess Alfred and Alexia Ashford has the best acting outta all of them, they sound so unique, elegant and evil at the same time.

The music and sounds are one of the best in this game, you hear alot of zombies moaning, flames, flys flying near the lights, lighting here are present in this game,i remember the part where i went pass the secret passage way about to run up the stairs where suddenly you hear a sadistic laugh with lighting...thats one scare here...but nevertheless this game is less scarier than the previous one...you may jump 4 times in this game but its nots scary, its fun to play though.

Resident Evil Code Veronica X although not the most innovative and scariest of the Resident Evil games, its the first one with long story length, introducing the 3D scenario graphics for the first time with great gameplay and voice acting if not all most of them did well...this game is fun to play and if you loved the previous games you will like this one...just don't expect the same scare factors of RE2.

This is my favorite old school RE title. The antagonists are weird, like questionably incest weird. That adds to the creepiness of this entry though.
