The two-player mode isn’t all bad, but for such a solid game, it’s a flaw that’s keeping this otherwise plenary racing game below the ranks of "Mario Kart" and "Diddy Kong Racing."
  2. Gorgeous graphics, an amazing soundtrack and fun, lighthearted gameplay combine with some of the best cartoon story scripting and voice-overs to bring an immersive and highly enjoyable racing experience to the PS2.
  3. While Freaky Flyers is not going to compete with Mario Kart by any means, it is a fun title with a dash of innuendo, a drop of multiplayer, and about 2 sprinkles too little of speed. All in all, a fun adult title in the land of 'serious sims' and 'shell tossing plumber-racer' games.

The game's cartoonish nature and over-the-top attempts at humor may ward off prospective players before the game is able to redeem itself.

This is one of the very best kart games you can find on the PS2 and on of the most original racing games. There are nice extras, the flyingThis is one of the very best kart games you can find on the PS2 and on of the most original racing games. There are nice extras, the flying race mechanics are not extraordinary but good, there are a lot of hidden specials, the track design might look a bit chaotic, but there are a lot of different paths and a variety of landscapes, that keep you exploring for hours. It is no Mario Kart, but much better that most of the PS2 kart games.
The story mode is okay, the characters are many and funny (if you like the style of humor) and there is nothing bad to say about this game.
The possibility to do ww1-style flight missions integrated in the kart career mode or dogfight against a friend on split screen is giving the game another interesting aspect: As snoopy vs red baron it now to expensive and hard to get, here you get at least a bit something similar. I don't know why it is that underrated. Especially as kart games, flight racing games and ww1-flight games are very few good ones made for the PS2, this one is a must have for fans of one of those genres.
