KlifupDec 12, 2003This is the best ff game since ff7 and fft this could be better and Omega could have been so harder like Omega on ff8.

NickB.Dec 26, 2003Great graphics but to much watching videos and not enough playing the game. In a way it is like watching a movie, which is ok I guess. I have not played X-2 yet but I hear that it is better. There are rumors that Square is making a X-3!

BryanK.Nov 15, 2006This game has a great story. its graphics are pretty good for early PS2 titles. The mini game blitz ball was also good! If your a true Final Fantisy fan you got to buy this game.

Mar 24, 2014Corridors, the game. Apparently, director Motomu Toriyama went several steps further in Final Fantasy 13 and made that game 1 long corridor (haven't played FFXIII). FFX is a pretty good game, albeit Auron is a better main character than Tidus, & the game is way too linear. Rated 8/10 because I love the Blitzball minigame, it alone is worth the price.

May 9, 2020I don't know what to think about this game. I like the tropical atmosphere, the graphics were great for the time, Tidus sucks as a main character (but some other characters make up for it, especially Auron who is badass), plot is confusing. This is a good game but I feel FF7 and FF8 are better.
-
Dec 17, 2017Auron brought the best in this game, the Sphere matches are an great addition if not the only objective to focus on. Final Fantasy 10 is a good example of how this saga thrives and been surviving long. Not bad there with the features in implement to have a nice time of it.

Mar 30, 2018In hindsight, it was just another FF game but it was the first one I experienced. Tedius to in my memory

Jun 1, 2018In the beginning, i thought it was a little boring, and the characters weren't that good. But as the history goes, the characters are developed and the history gets better and better, until it reaches it's climax on that final. It was one of the best endings ever made, and also, it builds a "bridge" between this and the next game. For those who prioritize histories in games, this game is for you!
-
Dec 6, 2018A beautiful, poetic adventure with attaching characters and a good, solid plot. The side quests aren't all that fascinating but they're still here and they work well. The world is colorful and alive, an amazing job for a game that came out in the early 2000s.
Plus, it has that legendary laughing scene so it can only be good. -

-
Jun 14, 2020X falls short compared to ps1 games in some areas, its more linear and streamlined but at the same time you can't deny its achivements in others, mainly telling a compelling story with use of voice acting and 3d, something never before done in the series. I would consider it one of better Final Fantasy games.

Sep 30, 2022Bellissimo gioco, sotto tutti i punti di vista.
Forse meno "d'atmosfera" e "intimo" rispetto ai precedenti 3 episodi, ma comunque assolutamente da giocare. -
Jan 28, 2023Impressive JRPG for its time, still holds up. Great gameplay and soundtrack.
-
Mar 3, 2022At times, Final Fantasy X can feel like more movie than game, though it is elevated by an incredibly rich narrative and deeply strategic battle system -- both of which help mask the linear world design and the worst crop of side quests and mini-games in any Final Fantasy title.
-
Mar 12, 2022I played it in 2017, after seeing many references of attractive visuals. This probably the reason I "only" give FFX an 8 score. With actually, for that moment in 2017, the sceneries of FFX is still mind-blowing

CharlieG.Jun 6, 2006Maybe I just hate RPG's, but I think this game really sucked because it is difficult and repetitive in a bad way.
-
-
BryanS.Dec 6, 2006Amazing story, but too much of it. I felt like I wasn't even playing a game, but watching a movie. Most of the game involved pressing X to continue to the next scene.

Nov 21, 2011Not a bad game, but it feels like they concentrated more on the graphics and appearance, than the content and merit... Doesn't hold up too well compared to FFIX, but still playing it was enjoyable.

Oct 11, 2017As most final fantasy games are, this is definitely a shining gem of JRPG games. But I had trouble really getting into the game - blitzball is basically a meme (it controls terribly) and I had so little direction in some of the early game battles and quests that it took me three or four tries before I made it past the opening sequence of this game.
-
Jun 23, 2020Its a bad FF for the 1st one of its generation, voices, 'nice' grafics can really make a good game alone, it has its moments, for the good or for the... tidus laughing moments.
-
Aug 28, 2020The game is fun and has great graphics but it has a painful amount of cutscenes that are also painful in length.
The story is decent but it's hard to keep interest when cutscenes are cutting into your playing time.
The game is a classic and a must have for PS2 RPG collectors. Just be sure to set aside some time to watch as much as you get to play. -
MichaelE.Jun 7, 2005I give the game a 6 because i got the dark aeon and the new game + is missing in the americain one.So squaresoft it over me.it`s feel like i pay for a beta (the game is non complete).

EagleEyeMay 7, 2003This is good, I like the story and characters but its not a real game, you spend 80% of your time watching cut scenes and i wish i was being over the top but thats for real. Major dissapointment after ff7.... i certainly won't be goin for another ff until its a game again.

ZiggyStardustAug 28, 2002While I do appreciate the great story, longevity, and sweet video sequences, I actually somewhat regret purchasing FFX. The gameplay is rather boring, and it's difficult to get in to. I wish there was more skill and strategy involved. Perhaps it's best suited to patient RPG fanatics.

[Anonymous]Jul 14, 2002FF7 was way better. The story was stupid. Once you got past Macalania it was super boring. Yunalesca was too hard. The first time it took me a month to beat her.
-
-
JackR.Sep 9, 2003This game seriously blew. The graphics were great (hence the 5 rating), but i think it's a testament to how completely boring the game is when you consider that I've only beaten it just now-- and it's an easy game! I say bring back FF7-- that game rocked.

JamesB.Mar 16, 2007This game is highly overrated. This game got really boring after some time for me - I mean, it seemed like I was fighting the same six monsters over and over again, but each time they were a different color. The story is great and highly original, but it just doesn't balance out the constant feeling of repetitiveness that makes me want to go and play something else.

AnonymousMCSep 18, 2006Compared to any Final Fantasy before it, this game is crap. It's too easy, too boring, and too much like a movie. Follow the big red arrow and summon Bahamut FTW~! This is the only Final Fantasy in which every single male character is annoying. And that's not saying the girls aren't annoying. Remember, the best thing about this game is its looks.

EeganracJul 31, 2006Great graphics, boring story, voice acting sucks. Not to mention, i thought i bought a game with cut scenes, not a movie with some interaction. Way too many cut scenes that you can't friggin skip.

May 2, 2013The final fantasy series took a downward plunge after the SNES titles n my opinion, but this one really did not appeal to me, the story was slow paced, and the level up system was just not to my liking, I prefer to know what level I am and base my choices of combat on that, not on how many pieces of a grid I have.
-
AnonymousMCApr 2, 2003I don't see what all the hype is about. This game is hardly a game but more of an interactive movie. I like RPG games alot, but this game is weak. It's really only and RPG in a very minimalist sense.
Even as a movie goes it's rather bad. The acting, dialogue, and plot are cheesy. I didn't like the characters either. They're rather cheesy. -
-
AnonymousMCAug 26, 2008The worst FF in my book. Annoying characters, boring world, way too melodramatic sappy story, way too slow and boring gameplay. The music isn't all that great either and the imagery just falls apart all the time-way too many eye burning colors on every character and place. The whole thing is like a japanese soap opera with a japanese pop star as a main character+ some magic summoner stuff.

M.OusSep 2, 2006Bad animation and bad graphics date this as an early PS2 title. But bad character designs, voice acting, story, and game play are inexcusable. I really can't be bothered with learning how to play water dodgeball with 20 buttons in an RPG.

Feb 6, 2022Anything that would be said about this game would not be enough to express its greatness. It's a tactical masterpiece. The story is a revelation about friendship and sacrifice, and love. Words cannot do it justice, one has to experience it.
-
Nov 19, 2019Disappointing game all around. Too cliché and melodramatic for my tastes and the gameplay isn't enough to be engaging.

We've seen the Final Fantasy epic take us on a memorable journey, but now it all seems like it's been done before. 10 is good, great at times, but it is no longer original.
-
The replay value is very low, and the design is flawed by an inability to skip past sequences, even in replay mode. The playability also suffers by a lack of freedom of movement.
-
Great RPG and certainly the best one on the PS2 currently, however, I feel it isn't as great as past FF's have been due to its lack of freedom.
