As its title suggests, Yet Another Hero Story is a very by-the-numbers point-and-click fantasy adventure, but it’s generally a good one with great characters, a funny story and a compelling visual design.

A nice little gem of the old school adventure genre. Nice graphics, dialogs and puzzles with only the absence of full voice acting holding it back.

First of all, I would have given it an 8 if it was fully voiced.

I bought it with a 15% launch discount (a little bit more than 5 dollars)
First of all, I would have given it an 8 if it was fully voiced.

I bought it with a 15% launch discount (a little bit more than 5 dollars) without expecting much. It proved to be a pleasant surprise and a great value in this price. The graphics are great. In fact, it´s one of the best looking 2d point and click adventure games that have been released this year. Still the animation could be bit better.

The writing is really good. It’s funny, it’s clever and yes, it doesn’t tire players with endless and pointless text just for the shake for it. The puzzles vary in difficulty and their logical most of the times. The length is adequate.

So why a seven? Well, I couldn’t but remove at least one point for the absence of full voice acting. Maybe the available budget for the game was spent on the graphics, leaving just a small part for voices. Cutscenes are fully voiced as well as dialog openers. This adds some life and personality to the characters but on the other hand also acts as a magnifying glass for the absence of a full voice over. There’s an option to completely remove voices and some players would prefer to play this way.
